Open Comminque to All Korean Allies

The Korean Armed Forces would like to welcome it's allies to the first annual Safeguard wargames, to be hosted in none other than beautiful Korea. We invite all nations allied to the Republic of Korea, as well as nations who wish to develop stronger ties with Korea. The purpose of these wargames are to test the strength and effectivness of the Korean Army and Air Force against a hypothetical attack from the north. Again, all nations are welcome to attend. The wargames will be a combination of live-fire and simulated-fire exercises, and gear similar to that of the United States' MILES system will be provided, courtesy of the various prosperous software companies of the ROK. The exercises are sceheduled for May to July 2008, and will be held to the west of Inchon. Any nations wishing to attend these exercises is encouraged to contact the ROK government via diplomatic channels.

Thank you!

(OOC: These will be fairly large exercises, involving several divisions of troops and several wings of aircraft. NATO members are usually going to be approved, as is Japan [who is inactive]. EU members stand a fairly good chance of being accepted. However, China is most likely banned, and Russia's involvement will be heavily considered. This is a predominently Western exercise.)

[ooc: if the DPRK is controlled by China [somehow...], why would there be a need to preempt an attack from the DPRK? unless by controlling the DPRK, hey aren't physically controlling the country...in which case, it still doesn't make sense that China would hold the DPRK, but give more legitimacy to your wargames proposal...]

France will join in the wargames.

[ooc: and by diplomatic channel, is this the right one or not?]

(OOC: It's a defensive exercise, not an offensive one. Also, it's a show of force to the DPRK, bascially telling them to think twice before attempting to take the rest of pennisula over, if such a thought crosses their heads due to the rampant starvation, economic distress, weapons proliferation, etc. And yeah, that will do.)

Communique from the Korean Armed Forces

We are delighted that the honerable nation of France is offering to send forces to participate in said exercise. While this news delights us, we will be asking what types of forces the French armed forces will bring to Korea for the Safeguard wargames.

I was asking if the DPRK was a separate entity...judging by your comment, I assume that they are a separate entity from China, good going :)

The Republic of France commissions its Fleet of the Pacific, centered around Nouvelle Calendonie and Tahiti, [around 15 ships in all...not impressive] to any support action. Furthermore, the French Air Force commits one squadrons of Mirage-N jets [about 40 planes in all] with a supporting expeditionary batallion of 1000 engineers, an infantry brigade of 5000, and one artillery battery. If deemed necessary, the Republic of France can commit more, although we would prefer to make this exercise as minimal as possible without losing the reality of a wargames atmosphere.

While your offering of troops is substantial, we regret to inform the French Navy that the exercise will consist purely of aerial and land engagments. There was a publication error in the statement from the Korean government, the exercises will be held to the east of Inchon, not the west. We accept the French dispatchment of troops and wish them safe passage to Inchon.
