International Call to The Reich (Open RP)

Sitting behind her black desk, the ergonomic black patent leather chair a size too large for her thin frame, Levia La'Doure, Intelligence Director of The Reich Military, rested her elbows on the desk. Staring at the far wall for the past couple hours, waiting for her door to open, she grew impatient. Since she had arrived back in The Reich the day before, she had been ready to engage her branches of control within the military.
But the plot hit her suddenly.....an ingenious idea out of the nothingness of boredom she associated with her office. An international call to The Reich. Even if it was not successful in pulling nations into the war against Mahanoy, it would be successful in introducing her to the means of external sources.....too long had this war been fought from within the regions confines. She needed resources, she needed dedicated people, and most of all, she needed support.
Wasting not another moment, she broadcasted her message; any willing nation would be able to receive it.
Her eyes pierced the camera, her hair pulled back tightly in a professional business manner, as she leaned forward on her desk, her chest slightly showing through the partial opening of her blouse. "Hello attentive viewers. My name is Levia La'Doure, I am the Intelligence Director of The Reich Military. I speak on behalf of the region First Reich of Der Fuhrer as I call forth all international nations and their representatives to come to The Reich. I am not asking for anything more at this moment then simply a meeting; join me if you want details. Thank you for your attention, I hope to see at least a few faces. Contact my office if you are interested. Again, I am Levia La'Doure."
Smiling quickly, the camera cut off and Levia stood up abruptly pulling down her business skirt. Grabbing a glass of water, her heels clicking off the floor, she walked to an expansive window staring over a vast community below her. Now all that was needed was time.

Travis thought well of himself, he had risen within Adyndril's semi-democratic system without his brother Richard's help with relative ease. He loved his brother, but Richard had often tried to help him out when Travis thought he needed no help... and now he was gone.
Travis certainly needed Richard now, there was nothing worse than one day finding yourself directly under the leader of a nation, in charge of many important daily affairs, when your brother who created several of these processes wasnt around to help clairify their meaning. He had been expected to just know the duties of his new office, but nothing had been made clear, and he didn't see any way out. Travis couldnt stay, he needed a way out.. an adventure.. and it had to be necessary to ensure his spot at the head of this council once he returned.
One day, sitting in his office, a courier brought him news of an international message sent out by a Levia of The Reich. Travis had finally found his way out, there would be little arguement when most of the region agreed that their bright young leader Richard needed to be brought back and set in place.. he was little more than a figurehead, but the people loved him.
Many on the council were opposed to getting involved; after all, they had internal problems to deal with that far outpaced their concern about some faraway place they had little real knowledge of.. but at remembering where Richard had went off to, without adequate protection, they eventually saw his point of view.
"Telegram this Lavia wench telling her that we'll be sending a diplomat over immediately to discuss our interest in these affairs," Travis said to the head of the Department of International Communications, "and as the head diplomat, ill be going to hear what she has to say."

Levia grinned, enthralled to receive a response so suddenly. Writing in a slanted, sexy curved, handwriting, she began her response letter.
Elric Diecletion,
I ask you meet me within the nation of The Last Hope, coordinates are attached with this letter. You are to leave promptly. We must waste no time; our region is in a crisis right now, and to avoid any interceptions of correspondance, it is best that we rush these matters. Receiving a telegram from the nation Adyndril, Levia noted that attendence of a Travis. Sending a similiar letter in the same handwriting as before, she responded back.
Mister Travis,
I ask you meet me within the nation of The Last Hope, coordinates are attached with this letter. You are to leave promptly. Waste absolutely no time; our region is in a crisis right now, and to avoid any interceptions of correspondance, it is best that we rush these matters. Travis chartered the government use jet for the long distance journey, he would likely be later than many of the other guests, but he would try his best to make good time.
The jet rushed through the air at top speed with Travis sitting in the lap of luxury in back, enjoying a fine meal and flirting with the stewardess.
And the plane rushed towards Ziv Hope with its passengers.

The plane landing within an hour, precisely as Elric had stated it would. The group of Special Operatives stood with their concealed arms at the enterence to the terminal Elric was landing at. And when Elric had stepped into the terminal, they immediately secured Elric, moving in on all sides of him, like vultures over roadkill.
"Elric, my name is Tim, I will be your primary escort of the evening. Ask anything you like, I will answer what I can. We will be moving momentarily, do you have any questions?" spoke the man to Elric's immediate right, a tall, large shouldered man with dark blonde hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing an officers uniform, black and red in manner, like all Reich Officers within The Reich Military, his uniform filled with a number of insignia.
"Are you ready?"

The plane landed on the strip with nary a problem, I dont know what Levia was talking about, the most dangerous view from this seat are those armed bodyguards.
Travis stood up sharply, his ears still in slight pain from the flight, and ingested a painkiller to take the edge off. He winked roughishly to the stewardess before walking out of the plane and surveying the sights. Travis was immediately hounded by the armed guards Levia promised would be there for his arrival, asking him questions as if he were a bit of a fool.
"No, good sir, I have no questions. You may lead the way," he stated before they all began their journey into the large building he assumed would be where the ambassadors present would be told what their next step was.
Of what Travis knew of the situation, he didnt like his already apparent lack of control, nor the growing feeling that this wouldnt all be as easy as he thought.

"Tim," Elric nodded by way of greeting. "My needs are few, thank you. We in The New Eutruscan Republic live simply."
[ Elric is a small-appearing man with a pronounced limp, using a cane in his right hand to support himself. His hair is almost white, and he gives the appearance of great age. His clothing is simply tailored: a coat with no lapels, sharply creased pants, and his pockets seem to be overloaded. He is wearing glasses ( a bit of an anachronism in this day and age ) with very thick lenses and silver frames. What can be seen of his eyes as he surveys his escort and surroundings give the impression of acute powers of observation. He carries a battered briefcase. ]
"I really like your uniform ... Captain, is it? .. Tim."
Elric gives one more long look around at the various aircraft and facilities, then smiles at Tim.
"Levia will be waiting, I'm sure. Shall we?"

Travis was brought forth to the building, the massive structure reaching far into the sky, the city within the building. Spread across the vast interior expanse was a large welcoming desk, the only opening in the center of the desk for those who had permission to enter. The floor sparkled with cleanliness, the sound of many footsteps on the water fountain behind the desk overpowering the murmured conversations throughout the massive interior.
Derek, the primary escort of Travis, led him forth through the desk, two gaurds nodding at recoginition. Throughout the room, a guard was stationed every five feet around the perimeter; the city within the building was equipped with the best police and military force Last Hope had to offer. Taking Travis into one of the countless elevators to his left, they rode the elevator for seemingly ten minutes before stopping at one of the top levels of the city. A large brightly lit room unfolded with the opening of the doors. A small young woman smiled as she stepped forward to shake Travis's hand.
"Levia is waiting for you inside Travis. I warn you, she can be impatient, I would do your best not to aggrivate her. Go right in though.....she is more than thrilled to meet you all!"
Escorted into the room, the gold lined structures of the room, Levia sat in her chair facing the window behind her. Turning immediately at the sound of an opening door, she smiled at the sight of Travis. "Hello there Travis, I am Levia La'Doure. Welcome to Last Hope and The Reich," she said as she stood up extending her slender hand. Her black business outfit and high heels accented her blonde hair and piercing eyes as she smiled excitedly at Travis.

Bringing Elric through the same building and up to the same floor, the same friendly face greeted him with a warm welcome as he was issued into Levia's office, who was sitting with Travis chatting warmly.
"Welcome Elric," she smiled warmly, standing up and straightening her skirt before offering her hand. "Now that you two are here, we can begin business. How were your trips by the way? I hope they were managable. Is there anything I can get for you two before we begin?" she asked softly and kindly, being kind despite the growing anxiety welling within her.

Travis looked around his surroundings, taking note of the nice clean floors and richly appointed interior, a rather pompous surrounding.. interesting, before realizing he was being addressed by Levia.
"So.. you're the impatient one I shouldn't aggravate, you dont look so bad. Its a pleasure to meet you, but if what ive already heard is true, perhaps ill wait and see. There is nothing I require but your patience, long flights aren't my cup of tea. Sit over here?" He asked, pointing to a nearby chair.
Before sitting down, he greeted Elric, "Hello, I am Travis of Adyndril; its always nice to meet foreign nationals. We should have our seats, but hopefully we can chat after the meeting."

"Wonderful! To finally meet the delightful Levia La'Doure! We have heard great things about you in our little Nation." Elric takes Levia's hand in both of his, raising it to his lips to kiss lightly.
Despite his appearance of great age and disability, the room somehow seems smaller with his presence.
"I had a short but instructive flight, thank you. Shame about the Dictatorship. So much destruction." Elric shakes his head sadly.
"Could I trouble you for a bottled water? The trip here from the airfield made me dreadfully thirsty. Delighful young man, that Captain Tim you so kindly sent to escort me. I must say your military personnel are most impressive."
Elric finally releases her hand.
"I take it you are Travis, of Adyndril?" Elric hobbles over to shake his hand. "Interesting custom that ... having only one name. Doesn't it get a bit confusing at times?"
Elric moves to grip a chair in one hand, sliding it around to the side of her desk, then sinks into it with a sigh.
"Not easy, this getting old thing. I must speak to our scientists about it," Elric smiles, his eyes twinkling.
"Now, dear lady, how can The New Eutruscan Republic be of assistance?"

Levia's left eye twitched as she held a sharp breath, leaving the room and retrieving a bottle of water, which she promptly handed to Elric. Her patience was wearing thin, the boredom of the past months wearing down on her.
"Now, Travis and Elric, I have a few propositions for you. I am not sure if you know of our internal affairs, but currently, a powerful nation known as Mahanoy has declared war against all allies of Der Fuhrer Dyszel, dictator of The Reich and sole ruler of The Dictatorship. Currently, there has one been one assualt on The Dictatorship, but it seems to have been an isolated incidence and has not been persued further. Precautions have been taken incase this nation decides to attack our positions during your stay here; be assure, nothing of the sort will happen. Our highest security measures have been taken to ensure your safety," she finished with a smile.
"Any questions? Or should we move to the reasons I have brought you here?"

Travis barked a laugh at the scene, Levia's left eyelid wiggling every so often as she likely contemplated killing the both of them, I guess that daft young woman who led us in here was right.. I best be good else ill get a spanking for naughtiness like my teachers handed out.
At that, he laughed again and gave Levia the winningest smile he could manage under that slight, diplomatic glare. She continued to glare, so Travis cleared his throat and went on, "your situation sounds most dire... is it Mistress Levia? or just Levia? Well, no matter.. we in Adyndril are a nation of peace when it involves external forces, because we have far too much turmoil internally. My own safety is insignificant compared to my people's, so what assurances do you provide that they will not be drawn into this war? What possible reason have I to believe that Adyndril is under threat from this faraway danger? I could be home in 12 hours, eating a fine meal of steak and enjoying.. other company.. without any knowledge or understanding of your war, and I and my people would likely be happier for it. As a representative of Adyndril I must ask you these questions, and I need answers before I possibly push my people through this perilous terrain.
In short, ill need either justification as to why I should participate; or, ill need sufficient reward for doing so. I am not a man seeking adventure, only peace." He said, giving her another cunning smile, possibly betraying the lie in the last thing he mentioned.

"My dear Adyndril. Perhaps if we were to give Levia the benefit of sufficient doubt to permit her to continue, all will become clear."
Elric focused again on Levia.
"You certainly have our attention, Dear Levia," he said, chancing a small smile which never got higher than his lips.

Just then the doors to the conference room burst open. "Oh, gawd ya'll I hope I'm not too late!" said a veritable ball of energy in human form
"I didn't cleared to get into the building until a few moments ago, damn guards. I should of kicked their collective asses! And then all those freaking stairs! Hain't y'all ever heard of gawd damn elevator's? I mean christ, I can't breathe! I need a drink!" By that time she had worked her way over to a chair and plopped down.
"Oh! I'm sorry!" she said, and jumped up hand extended to shake hands. "I'm Cassaundra Holzapfel, most call me Sass. I'm not really from any nation directly, but Corbin Dallas the leader of Foch reccommended me to this place. I'm a linguist, from the Fochian army!" Everyone at the table just reguarded her with incredible contempt. Her tan skin flushed, and she seemed to shrink into herself when no one shook her hand. So Cassaundra just sat down, and looked levelly in front of her, not blinking her clear green eyes. She shouldn't have burst in. She shouldn't be here. She should just go. No one had said anything, so she stood up to leave. "I'm sorry, I must have gotten the wrong room, the wrong building, the wrong country. I'll leave. Sorry to have disturbed."
And with that she rushed toward the doors from whence she came.

Travis' mood turned sour quickly as this stiff backed man Elric addressed him, "Perhaps.. but you see, she is now aware of what my nation requires to give her aid; those things aside and saved for later, perhaps we should indeed let her continue before we waste anymore of our valuable time.
On that note, I must apologize for my brevity, but I think ill be leaving now.. good day to y," he managed before his juvenile, ill-tempered diatribe ended with a bang of the confrence room doors.
He was in too much shock from this person to have any sort of reaction at all, but it gave him the time to calm himself down. As Sass was leaving the room, Travis became slightly red-faced at his earlier antics, remembering the job he was to do. Travis disguised his cherry cheeks by rushing over to the quickly departing young lady, "SASS! Wait!"
She finally stopped when Travis put a hand to her shoulder, sporting his most winning smile yet again, "Hello Cassaundra, I am Travis, please come and have a seat.. next to me if thats alright with you."

Sass allowed herself to be led to the table. Finally observing those around her, there was an old gnarled man, a pretty lady, and the guy who led her to the table. He was cute, said his name was Travis. Wrinkling her peirced nose, she sat down, and shoved some of her short, spiky, blue black hair away from her face. She really hoped everyone thought she was stupid, that would work to her advantaged.
Turning to Travis, she flashed her mega-watt smile and said "Thanks, ever so much, dahling. I knew this was the right place, but ya'll just weren't being receptive enough!" She turned her lazer beam gaze across the room. "Now whats shakin'?" she asked, her thick drawl making her seem innocent, naive and just as young as she actually was.

Levia turned away, her anger welling...."Stop the rage," she told herself as she breathed deeply, wishing she could call it an early day and retreat to the closed blinds of her house, hide behind them, and crack out that familiar bottle. "Compose yourself," she insisted as she turned around a smile trying to play at her lips.
"Well all, can we please begin?" she asked, her eye twitching as she buried the welling heat of the anger rising from the pit of her stomach. "Regardless of whether or not I brought you here or you came or you are a passificist or a warmonger, we have business to attend. You did not obviously come here to chit chat with other nations, that is for sure, so can we please get down to the business?"
Taking a step behind her desk, she grabbed black folders with The Reich crest in red on the front of each one, handing one to each of the present. "This is a composite history of The Reich and the events of The Reich from now to present. It also contains a detailed description of The Reich Military, branches, services, and all else you can possibly desire military related. I advise you to look over this material in your free time during your stay within The Reich.
"I brought you here because of the criticial state of conditions within our region. We need some form of a cease fire or a full military engagement and retailiation. Currently, our acting Hierarchy of The Reich has been abolished. Der Fuhrer Dyszel was reported to be missing, possibly captured; those events are unclear. Mathias Bortniansky, our leading General of The Reich Military and weapons specialist who had stepped down to perform diplomatic duties has been taken captive by Genocide of Mahanoy and her forces. Admiral Hunny*Dew has lost contact with us, and we can only assume that Stadt des Meeres of The Dictatorship is in terrible peril and devastation. Although there is no way to know for certain, especially with our artifical intelligent network down known as The Red Queen. What I need from you all is ideas or suggestions on alternative actions or commitments to service. So, where would you like to begin?" she asked impatiently, her heart surging with anger.

Travis winked at Sass as she plopped into her seat, lacing him with calf eyes.. she was cute, there was no denying that, but Travis was thinking of a woman out in the hallway who let them in, what was her name again? and before he knew it, a black folder had leaped into view directly in front of him. Travis hadn't even realized Levia was talking.. he always was a poor student, and rarely payed attention in class unless the subject was of interest to him, which only occurred in subjects he could use on a daily basis.
He snapped his attention back to the irritated looking woman staring everyone down as if they were maggots, ill bet she doesn't even realize she's doing it either.
Travis waited a moment to speak, so as not to interrupt anyone else who might like to jump in first, "it sounds like you're all in a bit of a pickle Mistress Levia," he smiled a half smile in one corner of his mouth at his use of words before straightening his face again, "well.. suggestions? Now THAT, m'dear, is tougher than a piece of dried up beef jerky. Ill have to give the contents of this folder consideration before making a decision on my participation, and possibly the allocation of Adyndril resources if necessary.. however, I must add, our nation doesn't seem to have the technology that seems to be even commonplace in this nation.. so I dont know how much aid we could realistically provide. Tell you what, when we finish up here, ill send a message that im personally going to stay for a while and look into the matter further.. we can see where the tides take us from there."

The door slowly opened, silent enough that the figure moving into the room wasn't even noticed by the four people in heavy conversation at the table. The faded royal blue cloak enveloped his body, his hood masking his face except for the glow of a single green gem piercing the darkness where his left eye should have been. Silently, he strode towards the table, standing at the end and casting his shadow upon the top from the overhead lamp.
Catching the four occupant's attention, he spoke in his smooth, soothing monotone voice, "Madam Levia, I apologise for my tardyness. My name is Madrius Gorman. I believe you recently sent out a call for assistance. I am here to listen to your offer," he took a seat and effortlessly eased himself into it. Reaching up with his gloved hands, Madrius pulled back his hood, revealing a bald head with what appeared to be sockets in a ring around the back. An electronic sensor still gleamed emrald green from the prosthetic eye socket and nose ridge that were of a polished black on the left side of his face. A single white scar ran the length of his righ cheek. His bright green right eye was squinting into a focused glare at the open folder in front of the woman beside him. Realising that the others were silent, Madrius again spoke in an annoyingly even tone, "Please, do not let me interfere. I wish to understand the exact circumstances and details of the situation. Feel free to continue as you wish."

Levia's eye twitched, her hands beginning to shake impatiently. "Hello Madrius," she said, forcing a smile onto her face, her voice hiding the hint of impatience in her shaking hands. "Welcome to The Reich, I am glad you could attend," she said as she stood up, walking back to her desk, opening a drawer and fishing through it.
Retrieving another black folder with The Reich embelm embossed into the front in red, she handed it to the new comer. "Inside is all you need to know about The Reich, it's current status, history, and so forth. Look over it in your free time and if you have any questions at any time, feel free to ask them," she finished with a smile, her facade of pleasentness hiding her impatience and aggrivation that was slowly building within her. She could not wait for the night time to come.....
"Now everyone, as I was saying before, The Reich is need of international assistance due to a threat known as Genocide from the nation of Mahanoy. We do not know if Mahanoy has any allies and should be treated as a high standing threat and nothing this child Genocide says should be taken as a joke. She had already took Stadt des Meeres, the last standing city of The Dictatorship, out of the picture while The Red Queen was activated. She should not be taken lightly. Any information gained on her is of immediate importance. Is that all understood?"

Opening the folder, Madrius focused his attention on the flimsy paper contents on the inside. His eye jem focused itself over the first page and scanned the entire document into his memory. He continued to do so with the multiple pages in the folder, until he had the entire folder backed up on his internal processor. Leaning towards the center of the desk, he spoke in an ever so subtly darker tone, "I'm afraid my associates and I must request that you are a bit more forthcoming with your information Ms. Levia. Due to your nervousness, I assume that you anticipated this...or perhaps you're suffering from some sort of alcoholic withdrawl...either way, my associates will need the technology levels of both you and your enemies'. Otherwise, our efforts here will be speculative. Clearly you can see that throughout history, successful tactics were derived from the technology involved. Imagine say, the British conquest of the Sudan if it were fought the same way with bow and catapult as opposed to cannon and gun. It would have been a disaster. Your current troop strengths are lacking, and judging from the gaps in both your supply and your intelligence line, I can only assume that you are withholding unit strengths, perhaps an elite or commando unit? I do apologise for my imprudence, but this just won't do if a coherent defence is to be assembled."

Levia cocked her eyebrow and stared in disbelief at this newcomer. After a moment's hesitation, she covered her mouth quickly, stifling the laughter emerging, finding herself incapable of.
"Sir, no offense, I have no clue what half of what you just said was. British? Sudan? Alcohol? Commandos? You lost me buddy," she laughed, standing up to retreive a glass of water. Bringing the glass back and finishing half of it, she looked to this newcomer again, looking into his gemmed eye.
"If you must know, The Reich has special reserves that I cannot release information about. The Red Queen has coded information concerning them, it is not accessable from my level of command. As for the other people you may suspect missing, we have lost a signficant amount of national troops to war throughout the years. It has been a very long war and has taken it's toll on everyone. And if you think we are unorganized, it is perhaps because we have lost communication with our current command. In that case, we act independently until someone assumes leadership. In this case, I have taken control over many sectors of The Reich Military. I hope that clarifies everything for you; afterall, most of which you spoke of does not exist to us," Levia said with a slight cock of her eyebrow, as she leaned back in her seat and crossed her legs.
"Now, anything else?"

"Well all, can we please begin?" she asked.
"Grave matters indeed," Elric murmured, looking suddenly grim. "The Eutruscan Republic stands ready to help in whatever way we can, Levia. We have some intelligence-gathering capabilities which may be of value, as well as some highly trained special operations forces which have considerable capabilities."
Elric fixed Levia with an even, penetrating gaze.
After a pause, he said, "Would you like us to see if we can find DFD for you?"

Elric turned his attention to the rather strange individual to his right.
"I obviously cannot speak for the Reich, but The Eutruscan Republic does not divulge classified information about troop strength, disposition of forces, military technology, or intelligence-gathering capabilities. I rather doubt the Reich does either. I consider your 'request' borderline offensive at best."

Listening carefully to what Elric and Levia had to say, Madrius swung his gaze toward Elric, "I do apologise sir, no offense intended. Please do not think of us as daft or inherently rude. We know all too well the trials of secrecy. Unfortunately, many others' secrets are left rather open for their populace in comparison to ours, so it is...difficult to understand initially how secretive a given group will be," Turning back to Levia, unaffected by her laugh and appearent lack of certain histories and comparisons, Madrius continued, "This lack of information complicates the matter. I must now meditate with my superiors as to what can currently be contributed to this cause with the current information. This will most likely take a good portion of time. Several simulations are typically required to fill in gaps in information, as well as field intelligence from our own network. If you will excuse me..." Madrius sat upright as if preparing to get up and leave, but instead of doing so, his eye rolled back in his head. The glowing gem darkened as his right eye closed. He sat back in his chair completely immobile for several minutes...
OOC: More on this later, sorry, but I will explain in the next post. Feel free to ask questions, since it often takes me a while to explain Mechan culture...again, I do apologise for any initial confusion...

Watching the stranger for a moment, Levia shrugged and cocked her eyebrow again before turning to face Elric. She paused for a moment, folding her hands in front of her on the desk, looking closely into the eyes of Elric before continuing.
"Sir, I see you are concerned with our missing Fuhrer. Der Fuhrer Dyszel has indeed disappeared and although we have no further information on the subject, it is speculated that she has been taken captive. If that is the case, we should not jump in haste to point fingers. Genocide, if she being the one behind this attack, has upped her level of threat another notch if she had indeed managed to capture Der Fuhrer Dyszel. None of us like to assume the worst though.....afterall, with the power of Der Fuhrer Dyszel in the enemies hands, we face a much larger threat. Personally, I think Genocide is a joke if she captured Der Fuhrer Dyszel....there is nothing useful she can get out of Der Fuhrer, the woman does not break for anyone. She loves her people far too much to bring about their demise."
After a brief moment, where Levia took another sip of her water, she looked up to Elric again. "Sir, perhaps you can be of use. We have lost all contact with Stadt des Meeres, and I'm certain that people are still alive there. Mister Bortnainsky of The Dictatorship has a quite impressive mansion he keeps in order on the outskirts of Stadt. I highly doubt that any aerial assualt, even if conducted by Genocide, can take down those walls. That man was a genius. It's a shame he disgraced The Reich," Levia finished, her normal aggitation having seemingly died down in her momentary recollection.
Taking another sip, Levia looked to Cassaundra and Travis. "You two have been rather quiet. Do you have anything you would like to contribute? I am thinking about setting up a team that will travel into Stadt and find out what the hell is going on. That, or perhaps we can get into The Depths of Hell. What do you have to say first?"

Travis yawned visibly under the glare of Levia, "Excuse me."
He was unflustered by the entrance of the man from.. well, wherever he was from; and he continued to attempt to ignore Sass' calf eyes and the insistent comments of the other people in this group.
Travis said, in his haughtiest tones, "I have only heard of this Stadt before now; and the Depths of firey Hell or whatever has never entered my thoughts until this very moment. The contents of this folder look to be in order," he hadn't even looked at them, but he pocketed the information within before tossing the empty black folder back in Levia's general direction, "is there no other way to do a reconnaisance mission but to recruit.. haphazardly.. members of various neighboring nations? You have something else in mind, and I would like to know what it is before committing myself to any sort of mission."
In fact, Travis had intended on going wherever the mission sent them from the start; he merely wanted to gather as much intelligence as possible before the mission began. No need to be caught sitting ducks before a mission had even begun.
"Beyond that, and barring any sort of unforseen stupid shit that could go on from now till then, consider me aboard to adventure and...," he said under his breath, "women, should the winds push my sails in the right direction."

Rage burned within her, the fury rising, and before she could think, she had sent her cup of water hurling into Travis's face, standing up in fit. "Do not speak or disgrace this region in my presense, especially if you live within it! If you do not think this is important then leave! Just walk right out the door you came in and leave if you feel like this is a waste of your time. I'd rather have one less person on my team then one with childish behavior. If you are going to act childish about this then stand up and walk right out of this room," she snapped, her voice raising, the fury burning within her eyes that glared directly into Travis's eyes, the rage mounting to a peak, her white knuckled hands clutching the table top tightly.
Looking down to her hands, seeing the white knuckles, she released her grip slowly and sat down in almost slow motion. Without another moment's hesitation, her voice came out slowly and unusually calm, "Any questions?"

With the feel of wetness on his flesh, Travis stood up abruptly, red faced and full of young rage, "You ugly BITCH!... You're lucky that was just water or you would have a full-blown diplomatic incident on your hands; and it appears, m'lady, as if you've got enough on your hands as it is. It is NOT important to me! The burden is on YOU to convince these few nations to accompany you on your fool mission, and as it stands, I dont believe I will join you.
I DO think this is important to you, and I must apologize if ive not given you or your region the proper respect. These diplomatic meetings bore the ungodly shit out of me, and yawning is an involuntary response which.. in my case, indicated anxiousness to get this over with. Tossing water in my face convinced me to merely go on elsewhere, on my own. If anyone needs me, Levia's aide.. who obviously thinks less of this wench then myself, which says a lot about someone who knows her better, will know where my room is for the night. I will depart tomorrow morning for Adyndril. Good day."
With that, Travis stood up and restrained himself from flashing Levia his middle finger with the rictus of a snarl on his face, grabbed the cup from the ground, and poured what few droplets that remained onto the table as a gesture of defiance.
He walked out of the room, tossing the cup casually to the woman who had harsh words for Levia and growled on his way to his chambers, preparing a false statement in his head which would be issued to the Adyndril Diplomatic HQ. After that was completed, he decided he would leave a bit early, grabbing a nap before likely departing on his own towards unknown adventure.

Levia looked to the departing Travis, it seemed as if this was quickly becoming a wreck. She should not have brought them into The Reich, into this building, in this meeting, it was a mistake. First she sends a diplomat into Sanctaphrax who ends up dead with rumors of a possible assassination sweeping the nation, and now she calls a meeting in which none of the members respect her position. Her missions were failing rapidly, the need overcoming her, causing her to shake frenetically, the fury burning inside her.
"I'm sorry, I must go," she spoke softly, her voice having filled with extreme depression. She did not look at anyone as she walked to her desk, her body trembling and shaking, as she pressed for the call button on her desk.
"Send someone in to escort everyone to the rooms we had arranged for them. If they wish to leave, let them. Get my car ready," she spoke, barely above a whisper as she hung her head, her hands shaking uncontrollably, the desire overwhelming her.
Pulling back her chair, she sat in it and turned it's back to everyone, unwilling to let them see her face.

The emerald gleam flashed back on in his left eye, and as Madrius opened his eye, he realized that he had missed something while he was conversing with his superiors. Noticing that one of the members, the young male, was absent and that there was an odd silence about the room, Madrius stood up and walked over silently to Levia who had moved to her desk, facing away from the others. Tapping her gently on her shoulder, he reported to her what the conclusion of the simulations allowed, "Madam Levia, we have run several simulations as to the optimal course of action based on the current knowns and unknowns of the situation. It appears that our military numbers are such that we can easily fill in some of the more crucial gaps within your defense purpose. We aslo maintain the ablility to send expeditionary and reconnaissance forces into the surrounding areas. We can easily accomodate refugees if needed, and can establish safehouse garrisons throughout your unsecured lands. This will be a major undertaking, but with a request to our senate, the penal colony of Excommunicated Mechas can offer all excess resources at our disposal. Additionally, I have been assigned as a liason between your government and ours," Turning to the others in the room, who were standing up, apearently getting ready to leave, "I will of course, appreciate mutual cooperation of you as well, seeing as this will require the collective resources of-I apologise, have I missed something?"

Sass had no idea what was going on. It appeared that Levia was prone to mood swings, Travis liked to be a dickhead, Madrius was a computer, and Elric was trying to manipulate Levia for his own political gains. Heh, she thought, well that was interesting.
Standing up she turned to Levia, "Pardon me, ma'am, but I'm going to take my leave, I assume that if we read these dossiers we will be sufficiently informed of what is going to be required of us, and that we will be breifed again before we head out on our mission for the reich."
Levia didn't answer. "Well then," said Sass, turning to Madrius and Elric. "It was a pleasure to meet you gents," she said holding out her hand for a handshake from the duo. Madrius scanned her with his green eye, and Elric merely inclined his head. Shrugging, Sass turned and swung her ass out the door, when she crossed the threshold she muttered to herself, "Douchebags," and headed to the elevator.
She hit the call button and waited for it to climb back up the concrete building so she could leave.
Der Fuhrer Dyszel

Levia watched below, seeing nothing but pristine clear skies around her and the faint antlike figures representing vehicles below them. Lifting her body with a push from her black leather ergonomic chair, she looked to Elric and Madrius with a slightly suspicious side glance. "Your personal guards will be here to take you to your rooms. I advise you to wait in the following room, snooping around here will bring you no good," she spoke, her voice sounding informative without any particular emphasis.
Straightening her business skirt, she continued out of the room, the only sound resonating in the silent room from the click of her heels against the hard floor. Entering the elevator, she rode down to the ground level and emerged into the rush of people entering and exiting the building. At the sight of her, the room ceased action, an awkward silence taking over, as the stationed guards stood at attention, saluting her very presence. Disregarding them and the bothersome silence, she continued past the others, moving toward the exit, until one of the soldiers took her shoulder hardly. "Director, we have reports of business that may be of interest to you," he quietly spoke into her ear, audible enough to anyone standing within an arm's reach.
"I see. Accompany me and we will discuss this issue,” Levia responded flatly, rushing to leave the forsaken building.
As they stepped out into the piercing sunlight of mid afternoon, the hustle and bustle of a busy day rushing to meet her ears, she grabbed her sunglasses and customarily whipped out her cell phone from her clutch. Dialing a few numbers, she brought the phone to her ear and waited until someone had answered. Speaking quickly just as she walked hastily, her harsh demanding voice sounded, "Levia here. How is the mission coming along? ........ Good....... Move to the south slowly and get someone into that base…… I want to know what secrets lay in the ruins," she ordered, snapping her phone shut in hurry.
Looking back to the soldier, who stood slightly taller then herself, she narrowed her eyes through the sunglasses, taking the man in before talking to him. "What do you have now?"
With his voice sharp and enforcing, he hesitated for a moment before quickly responding, "Director, the virus research is coming along well. And we've moved into the fourth phase of our other research. We are going to need to move into The Depths of Hell for their resources to complete all transactions. Should we begin the transition over?"
"Assemble a team. We'll meet later. Thank you for the information,” Levia spoke with a nod, her jaw clenching with anger at the fact that it had taken this long already. Opening the door of her transportation, she looked to soldier, "Move along now. Don't stand there you big oaf."
Closing the door, she stared out the window mindlessly until she reached her home, an apartment complex in the heart of the city. Stepping out, she nodded to the doorman, who let her in with a smile and welcoming greeting. Finally home, she rode the elevator to her apartment and unlocked the door, stepping in quickly before turning around and locking the door was haste before rushing over to a cabinet and retrieving a large bottle of wine which she began to guzzle immediately. Finding her thirst satiated, she threw herself onto a couch and turned on the television, set on the news, where she watched as attentively as possible to the world events going on around her. This was her life, the news, her intelligence, and the bottles of alcohol she kept hidden in her closed up apartment.

Elric, a bit irritated at the abrupt end of the meeting with Levia, allowed himself to be guided to his quarters.
He was pleasanly surprised at how spacious and well-appointed the rooms were and thanked his escort as he closed and locked the door. Opening his battered biefcase, he removed his communications gear and arrayed it on the table near the sliding glass doors. It was good this room had a balcony; it would be easier to establish a satellite uplink.
When the communication station was set up, Elric slid open the door to the balcony and set the small folding umbrella antenna on the blacony floor, turning it slowly until the green linkage light came on. Returning to the table, he ran a test program, then called Andros Pondera, First Citizen of The New Eutruscan Republic.
"Elric, old friend, how goes the mission?"
"As we suspected, Andros ... wheels within wheels within wheels. The Reich is in some dire straits and will need our help if it is to survive."
"This is what we factored into the various simulations."
"Yes, and the outcome was almost always the same," Elric mused.
"Well, we are doing all we can do here to get prepared," Andros sighed. "As you know, our allies are preparing for the worst."
"I'm sure they are. I've heard that SInc. has lowered the age of conscription, is investing heavily in its weapons shops, has increased the intensity of military training, and has doubled the number of their insurgency teams." He paused. "Andros, you know how I feel about them."
"Yes, I know quite well how you feel about them, old friend. But they are in the best position to help us militarily."
"Yes, but what about after this conflict has been resolved? Where will they decide to use their forces then? On us?"
"Elric, we have discussed this until we both can recite each others' positions in our sleep. We have contingency plans in place for that eventuality."
"I know. I just don't like the idea of us being in league with a 'Capitalist Paradise,'" Elric sighed, looking morose.
"One thing at a time, Elric. One thing at a time. Keep me posted, please."
"Levia will probably get more specific about what she expects of us in the morning. I'll contact you about this same time tomorrow."
"Fair enough. You probably should start using the cypher in your contacts from now on. It's said the walls have ears in the Reich."
Elric chuckled. "As if they don't in Eutrusca?"
Andros laughed. "Talk with you tomorrow then."
Elric signed off, collected the antenna and the uplink gear, and stowed it away in his copious old briefcase.
Preparing to bed down for the night, he wondered what Levia might have in store for them all tomorrow.
Der Fuhrer Dyszel

Waking early in the pre-morning hours, Levia stretched herself out from her curled up position on the floor of the hallway leading to her room. She had no recollection of how she got or what had happened earlier that night other then the faint recollection of the words of foreign affairs.
Using the wall to help herself stand, she trailed her hand along the off-white painted walls that colored the hallway as she made her way to the bathroom. Climbing into the shower, she turned on the warm water, undressing as she groaned with mild intoxication from the night before. With her mind filled of the days tasks, she stepped into the shower and allowed the warm water to run down her head and her back, calming her. She wished she could sleep, the water having brought with its warmness a sense of exhaustion and fatigue, a feeling of just wanting to lay in bed and curl up beneath the sheets that she could not remember the last time she had slept beneath them.
Mindlessly fulfilling the mundane, Levia completed her bathing, her mind in a distant world as she routinely took her shower. She thought of many things, of all she had to do that day, of what she had just orchatrasted, but the one thought that lingered the most time and suspended her motionless body in time was that of her first taste of this war. Her earliest memories of childhood took place in The Last Hope, the safe house nation of the war, housing both sides men and women alike. The nation was a collection of battleworn soldiers tired of fighting, tired of serving a side that they could see no reason to support, a nation to house anyone who did not want to participate in the war. She could not remember her parents, nor did she have any belongings of them, but they were the ones who sent her to live here. She had been born in The Dictatorship, or so, she faintly remembered once being told so. And then she met him, young, flambouyant, a risk taker, even if not so attractive. He was kind, but he had an edge to him, with his black hair and stunning blue eyes. He was shorter than herself, but then again, most people were too, as she was rather taller then the average female. They met when she was attending an advanced academy for business intelligence and diplomacy. It was here that she learned of the war and how it started, and how Dante was the most ruthless and most memorable face that the history of The Reich had seen. He was bold defiant, a vicious man, who had an infamous anger and unforgiving personality.....many were killed by his hands alone, and not only by the weapons of mass destruction that he employed. The man she ended up falling in love with had worked for Dante, but he had fled the empire when he first met Dante in person. The look in that man's eyes had shared him shitless, and he fled before the day was through....he could never serve a man who harbored that much hatred and anger, a man who could kill and wipe the blood off his hands like one dries their wet hands. That is what he had told her, and she had decided to take a keen interest in the war and The Reich, learning the history and the views. But her interest was merely business related, her heart was not in the war nor The Reich. She simply could not bring herself to wanting anything to do with it, and then they killed her love. They drug him from his house one night and executed him, in the belief that he was secretly one of Dante's most trusted confidantes in hiding. She never forgave them, would never forgive them......
Her mind raced back to her reality, the images of his smile fading from her mind as she turned and shut off the water mechanically. Wrapping a towel around herself and going to her room to grab one of her business outfits, a similiar black skirt, white blouse, black jacket, and high black shoes. Dressing quickly, she grabbed her clutch and left the room.
The building was silent as she rode the elevators down. Even the heart of the city was quiet; it was early, but she could always go to her office and let her mind unwind. Searching through her clutch, she removed a set of keys and searched for red topped key with the symbol of The Reich etched into the top. Sliding the key in, she twisted the key, unlocking the door. Pulling out the key, she kissed it..... "I love you," she smiled with a grin as she stepped into the car; it was a nice car, not too expensive, but simple and clean....just what she liked. She laughed at the thought of the annoyed owner calling the police when he or she awoke to find their car missing before starting the car. "Sorry buddy, official Reich business," she said to herself as she pulled out and heading to her own little city.
Once inside, she was not surprised to see the bustling activity of the ground floor.....this place was always busy. Riding to her office, she was relieved to find it empty, and quickly went inside and slid behind her desk, plopping into her lovely black leather ergonomic chair.

Elric awoke at six AM, the time he had programmed his mind to awaken. Humming a tune currently popular in Eutrusca, he swiftly completed his morning rituals, pushups, situps, crunches ... enough to work up quite a sweat, shower, shave.
Assuming the lotus position, he sent himself into deep meditation, thinking of nothing but his mantra, allowing his mind to center; a process which had always stood him in good stead during all the years of conflict and development which had built Eutrusca into a dynaminc, compassionate nation.
After an hour of meditation, his mind slowly surfaced, focusing first on the immediate surroundings, then on devising a plan of attack for the coming weeks. Many of the elements of a plan fell almost automatically into place, something which never failed to surprise and delight him. He marvelled once again at the flexibility and resiliency of the human subconscious, giving silent thanks for both his ancestors' genetic propensities and the skill and wisdom of his Budo Taijutsu (http://www.usadojo.com/martial-arts-styles/about-budo-taijutsu.htm) masters.
Donning his personal body armor, he smiled at the thought that he, a champion of the common man had access to the very best that a militant capitalist paradise like Soldiers Incorporated could offer. Life was full of ironies.
He checked all the various devices and accoutriments he had brought along, replacing them in his suit pockets. Truth be known, he had grown rather partial to the somewhat rumpled look that resulted.
To begin this latest adventure in his life, he would first need to talk privately with Levia. Strange woman, that Levia. She was obviously working below her potential. Perhaps that accounted for some of the free-floating anger he sensed just below the surface. He would have to be at his diplomatic best so as not to provoke it to the boiling point.
Gathering his briefcase, he let himself out of his quarters at about eight and began to retrace his steps of the night before, looking for a place to eat a light breakfast before paying Levia a visit.
Later, having sampled the Reich's version of breakfast, and proud that he had only lost his way twice, he opened the door to Levia's office.

"That won't be necessary. She issued him in and led him to a chair before her desk before take a seat at her chair opposite to him.
"What brings you here first thing in morning Elric. We're not scheduled to for another meeting for at least three more hours?" she sounded, hard and confrontational almost, in a professional business manner of getting straight to the point.

Stopped before entering the depths of the ground level a soldier grabbed General Grimm by his shoulder. With his voice cold and cutting, the soldier looked that unfamiliar man in his eye. "You need permission to cross the main desk to enter this building. May I ask why you are hear and what you are looking for? This is mostly a professional run building here, so many times appointments are necessary to enter. This city is not for commerical entertainment, if that's what you are looking for," he added, his eyes running down the man, taking notice that he appeared to be of a standing position from somewhere.
"Are you foreign?" he asked curiously, his eye cocking slightly at the thought that perhaps this man was here for alternative means, perhaps an illegal act......unless, he was of course there for the meeting Levia called, but more than likely he would have had an escort.
Deciding it would be best not to jump to any hasty conclusions, he decided to allow the man a chance to speak for himself before he summoned any additional men to the scene.

"Sir, she's in right now, as I understand. I can page her for you to see if she is available at the moment for a meeting. That is sir, if you are free at this time. Her schedules can get pretty full and fast, so I would take the first oppurtunity you can meet with her if possible. Shall I call her for you and see if she is available at the moment?" her secretary said with a smile, looking pleasent despite the tiredness in her eyes.
"That won't be necessary. Elric, come in," Levia spoke, leaning silently against the doorframe of her office, her skirt coming right above the knees, her blonde hair tigtly pulled back with the exception of a few strands that hung along her face and in front of her eyes; having stood there after she heard the sound of obviously voices outside. She issued him in and led him to a chair before her desk before take a seat at her chair opposite to him.
"What brings you here first thing in morning Elric. We're not scheduled for another meeting for at least three more hours?" she sounded, hard and confrontational almost, in a professional business manner of getting straight to the point.
"Ah, Director Levia," Elric exclaimed, taking her hand and kissing it, "how do you manage to look so utterly ravishing so early in the morning? I wanted a chance to meet briefly with you in private. I wonder if I might inquire about something you mentioned yesterday.
"You indicated that you had lost all contact with a city named Stadt des Meeres, yes? Perhaps that would be something I could do for you ... a personal trip there to gather a bit of intelligence which might be of use. What do you think?"

The soldier nodded with acknowledgement, "I see. I'll escort you to her office. From there you will receive further information."
Leading the man to Levia's floor, the soldier left him at the receptionist's desk, riding the elevator back down to his position.
In the mean time, the receptionist looked up with a smile, "Hello there young man, what is it that I can do for you sir?"

Levia crossed her legs and folded her hands as she looked into Elric's eyes, searching them with a keen interest.
"Why would you want to go to Stadt Elric? Stadt has recently been destroyed, there is not likely much we can gain from a visit there. Unless, of course, you had known something that no one else here knows."
With cold eyes, Levia leaned forward, closing the gap between them slightly. "We can devise a plan to get into Stadt, but that would be rather difficult. Hunny*Dew was last seen there, and I need to speak with her personally myself. Perhaps this journey will be on the side," she pondered momentarily, looking at Elric, her gaze softening slightly.

Travis awoke with a different perspective on matters as they currently stood; he felt somewhat guilty for provoking Levia the other day.
He sat up in bed with a sigh, feet dangling over the fine blankets that the Reich provided him. There was little need to take a shower, 'the deodorant,' he thought, of course.. that should mask his lack thereof. He wasn't after women today, and would happily attribute his juvenile behaviour to jet lag.. his brother would have been deeply disappointed in him, as would Adyndril if they heard.
"I suppose I should apologize," he said with resignation, kicking his feet forward and pushing off of the bed with his arms and starting to put on his clothes, "but its got to sound good if I want the bat to listen."
After dressing casually, Travis strapped on his boots, and belted on his decorative knife before heading up to Levia's office.
Reaching the foyer of the large meeting room alone, and feeling even more so in this huge place, Travis waved to the receptionist before sauntering over there with a half smile on his face, hair disheveled.
"Is Levia available m'dear?"
"She's busy at the moment, may I schedule an appointment for you?"
"Yes, I would love to have one set up after lunch today.. and.. I would appriciate it if you told her that Travis came this morning looking for a meeting with a downcast, apologetic appearance," he said with a wink, and his downcast appearance wasn't too far off, he had noted with disdain on his way up the elevator.
"I'll see what I can do," she said, "is 1 o'clock in the afternoon OK for you?"
"Yes, ill be standing on this exact spot at one o'clock. Thank you!"
With that, he left the reception room with a smile, feeling rather victorious, as if he was beginning to really solve the mystery of how he could find his brother Richard; which didn't quite fade away as he followed signs to the nearest eatery.

Elric tried out his warmest smile for Levia, this female study in contrasts.
"How ever I can be of service. It's highly unlikely that I have access to any information about Stadt of which you are unaware, but I can leave as soon as you point me in the right direction. Perhaps I can unearth some useful information about this ... Honeydew is it?"
Elric looked conspiritorially at Levia, a bit of a twinkle in his eye. "As to this ... expedition being 'on the side,' I'm assuming you mean just between the two of us, yes?"

And Honeydew is Hunny*Dew, there is a mild space between them, an bit of affectionate ring to it, as if you addressing your sweetheart rather then a fruit. Do not let her name fool you though, she is a rather prestigious member of The Reich Heirarchy."
Pausing for a moment, Levia looked down at her desk, "Stadt des Meeres is the home of Mister Mathias Bortniansky.....he's a very profound member of The Reich. It's a shame his home had been attacked. This Genocide seems to know more about us then she is letting on. We must not take her lightly."

Elric looked at Levia for a long moment.
"Levia, after meeting you, I worry more for Genocide than I do anyone else. Where do I start? Is there someone to whom I can talk? Who can provide me with a map? As I said, just point me in the right direction. Perhaps this Mathias Bortniansky?"
Der Fuhrer Dyszel
19-03-2006, 23:30
Levia looked into Elric's eyes quick, Mathias had been gone for quite a while now and any chance of his survival seemed to drop significantly with each passing day. She doubted The Reich would ever again see his figure, that cold stern, impentrable figure that seemed to be father like figure of the entire region. He was almost always there, in some form or another, and his inability to talk and the way he would stand in that perfect military stance for such long periods of time, seemingly unmoving, provided him with an almost menacing quality to his figure, a quality that made people afraid to approach him if they had done something displeasing.
Lowering her voice to a whisper, as if someone inside the room were listening other than Elric himself, "I am afraid to tell you that Mathias had been captured. I fear he may be dead by now, but we do not speak of him much within The Reich. He had been charged and sentenced with an unforgivable crime......we remember his contributions silently and speak not of him anymore," she said, realizing that it was her own fault the subject of Mathias was brought. "The man is gone, it is not likely you will be able to receive any information for him at all," she finished quickly, trying to move to the next topic as soon as possible.
Sitting in an awkward silence for a few moments, her mind raced for something to fill the ghastly void she associated with deathly silence of The Dictatorship. Silence was not welcome in The Reich to anyone who has ever stepped foot in The Dictatorship long enough to have gone mad from the silence, which usually was ten to fifteen minutes at the utmost.
"Elric, it is settled then, we will go The Dictatorship, to Stadt des Meeres. I need a large facility within The Dictatorship for the advancement of The Reich Military anyway, so I shall accompany you....than again, I am not sure if even we can make it their on our own. Others may join us, and I'll probably offer the others to join us during our journey to Stadt as well.....but in this event, the more the merrier. You really do not want to travel into The Dictatorship without company, you are more likely to go mad, to drive yourself insane, your most haunting thoughts prevailing and consumming you, driving you to madness and self destruction. There is an unwelcoming and unfriendly silence that accompanies the desolation of The Dictatorship.....it's unsettling and many have been known to lost themselves in it, altering their minds and trying to kill others or turning inward and trying to eradicate the silence that seeps within them. Never be mistaken, this is not a serene silence you will face, it is the silence of walking through a battlefield and seeing the bodies of your fallen comrades and the fear in their eyes as they met their own deaths. It is not a welcoming silence, it is not a friendly one, it is horrible silence that even gets to the strongest of our leaders," Levia warned cautiously, her demeanor changing momentarily, shuddering in the memories of her experience with the silence.
It was a void.....a silence in which no answers would come from.....

There was an extended silence while Elric digested this information; not just the information in Levia's words, but the information her body language as well as the long pauses transmitted. That this seemingly strong-willed woman seemed frightened at the prospect of traversing the Dictatorship gave him pause, particularly since it was obvious she would be taking an entourage, probably an armed one.
Elric briefly speculated on the sort of threats they might encounter as implied by her attitude, then gave it up as useless. Best to see for himself.
"It will be my distinct honor to travel with you, Dear Lady. Stadt des Meeres it is.
"Will we be walking? I understand there is a noticable lack of ground transport in the Dictatorship."

"I will speak with others on transportation. That is not the issue of that moment, since we will not be leaving at the moment. As for this meeting, is there anything else you would like to dicuss?" she asked sharply, her mind snapping back to her current reality.
"If not, we have a meeting today at one, which, as it seems is only about an hour away. Have we really been here for several hours? Time flies quickly sometimes," she said, feeling the slight pang of hunger enter her stomach. Had she had something to eat this morning? Her mind could not trace back that far as she stood up to retrive a cup of water.
"Shall we head for a bite to eat? I would like to eat before our meeting....the third level has some very fine resturants," she said before drinking her water quickly.

Levia grabbed her clutch and retrieved a pair of stylish shades that framed her face quite well, giving her the appearence of a professional, someone with power in the world of business.
Walking out of the door, she notice a younger man sitting on the bench, looking around the room as if he were waiting for the walls to begin to move.....boredom is rarely an interesting event, especially with her. She looked to the man, taking noticed that he must have been here to meet with her since he had gotten this far through the building already.
"Director, General Grimm from the nation of Bloodbank, had come to speak with you," responded her secretary kindly, smiling pleasently as she spoke.
"Thank you," Levia responded as she turned to General Grimm. "We are heading for a quick meal, if you would care to join us.....I am assuming the walls here are not so interesting, so feel free to join us or wait here. A group of us will be meeting at one and if you need a private meeting, you can arrange so with my secretary, if you so choose to remain here while we eat."
Waiting for a moment to confirm whether not Grimm would be joining them, she turned for the elevators and stepped inside. "Third level," she spoke staring at the closing doors, unaware of her current company's momentary existance.

Doing his best to keep up with the somewhat frenetic Levia, Elric hobbled toward the elevator. He almost bridled at her offer to include the youngish "Director General Grimm" in their breakfast plans, but shrugged it off. This was Levia's show.

As the elevator doors opened, Madrius stood with a map of a random river valley projecting a few inches in front of his face projecting out from his gleaming green prosthetic. Oblivious to the passengers of the elevator for a few moments, Madrius suddenly stepped back when he realized who was in front of him.
"Ms. Levia! Urgent question for you! I was studying the maps to this valley and I realized that with what intel we have gathered on the status of your enemies, and the appearent gap in military strength in this area, your nation is very vulnerable to invasion through the corridor this valley presents. I must know if your Red Queen has even considered moving some form of military presence to the area. Is there any way to do this? I suppose we could commit a reconnaissance company to the area as a precautionary measure just in case, but unfortunately this area is volatile enough that the people I represent will not dare risk valuable Mechan military resources if there is already a military presence in the area. My superiors have informed me that if the Red Queen is already in the area, we are to station our troops in other secondary strategic staging areas to bolster your forces. If you will take a look here," Madrius took his finger and made several circles on the display, forming red curves around several hazy recon outlines of buildings that did not show on the official map overlaid on the holographic display. He walked backwards with the group, making sure to stay out in front while taking cues from the others as to when to turn. He continued, "Our satellite imagery has found these buildings that could easily be field positions for military forces, however we cannot confirm what they are or even who they are unless the Red Queen will tell us if she at least has a military force in the area. Would this information be available? I know it falls under matters of national intelligence, but we need not know troop compliment, strength, or type, merely if there is a presence in the area...." He babbled on for about 30 more seconds, listing more technical details and generally boring the others.

Levia looked forward, stepping in the loudness that surrounded the third level, the bustling activity and sheer energy rushed into her....her head responding with a throb and an unconscious groan of disgust. She was almost met the barrage from Madrius and her eye brow cocked as she stared into his eyes, focusing more on his human eye then artifical one.
Continuing to listen to all he had to say, they surged forth, into a transit metro that escorted them with great speed to the opposite side of this level's ring, to all the expensive and elaborate resturants, where fewer people seemed to bustle about the corridors and main interior.
Leaving the transit metro, Levia led them toward a large resturant done in black with the words "VERTIGO" written in big bold red letters....it was the only distinguishing feature about this building....no bright lights, no flashy architecture, nothing but the black framed walls and red letters.
"Madrius," she spoke professionally, "we are heading for a bite to eat. Do you care to join us?"
Not waiting for his response, she head opened the door and entered first. The lights were dimmed and the place immediately appearted empty, silence sounding through the building at the sight of Levia. "Table for seven," she spoke instantly. From behind a high counter appeared a short man, pudgey, but joyous, like a mini Santa Claus. "Levy! You come here and give pop a hug," he hassled.
"Are you ever going to give up?" she asked, seemingly irrate at this tradition.
"Nah....it's been fifteen years. I ain't givin' up on ya. What'ya think I am....ole foo? Now get on down 'ere and give ya pop a hug."
"Later," she said impatiently, crossing her arms to emphasize her seriousness.
"One day," he said, shaking his head, "one day...."
Escorting her to a table in of the partioned off rooms, he placed menus in front of each of seats. "We'll be round ina bit to check if ya ready Levy," he said with a wink as Levia took her seat, leading the group to do the same.

Travis arrived at the spot he said he would be exactly on time. Levia's secretary met him and said that she wasn't in, that she went out to lunch with that handsome older fellow Elric.
"You were right, madam.. she is a miserable old wench," he said between his teeth before smiling at the secretary, "would you mind telling me where it is that they have reservations? I must make a diplomatic apology for my behavior the other day. I do dearly wish to be in her party travelling out of the area."
"Oh.. well, she's at the VERTIGO restaurant with the rest of the members of your group; take the transit metro....."
Travis filed away the directions to this restaurant in the back of his mind while he seethed inside... he would need a drink of water before going into that abhorent dinery.
"Thank you kindly ma'am.. and I should say.. you have a pair of the most beautiful eyes ive seen in a long time, they strike me to my very core. I must admit to already forgetting the name of that restaurant.. what was it again?"
"The VERTIGO, sir."
With that, he was off.. a glare in his eyes, headed for the VERTIGO and a forced apology.
Arriving on the scene, Travis was pointed in the direction of Levia's table. The restaurant that she chose to eat at was far nicer than a hag would usually choose, but maybe it was just the anger that made him assume she wouldnt have taste. He sighed and took several deep, calming breaths.. counting from one to ten.
As he approached the table, Levia looked up at him with sharp eyes that didnt soften when they met his, he temporarily disregarded the others already at the table, "Madam Levia.. I must beg your pardon for my behavoir the other day. Ive no excuse, my poppa always said excuses were for fools, and neither of us are. I thought long and hard on my actions, and they were out of line for me, and for someone in my position. The leader of Adyndril reprimanded me for my childish behavior and would like for me to apologize on behalf of Adyndril as well," he lied.. but just barely. That man would have wanted him to, "I also took a long hard look at what we could give, as a people, for this dangerous mission; and unfortunately, for the moment, that will be only me. I would greatly appriciate it if you would allow me to accompany you on this mission as a personal ally; Adyndril may or may not have our backs as things stand, and I will attempt to keep communications up with them. My sword is yours, I stand ready."
With that, he bowed formally, and stood up as straight as an arrow; eyes fixed on Levia's chin, slightly downcast, for he had not yet gained acceptance in hers.

Levia just stared at her current company until the waiter came. He was a young man, around the age of eight, tall and thin, disheveled hair and a glance that could not meet the eyes of another. He was shy, downcast, alone in a vast world full of many people.
Levia did not wait for him to ask whether they were ready or not and what he could get them for drinks. "Get us each a round of scotch, with coke on the side for anyone who so desires it, and bring us a bottle of The Dictatorship's Bourbon, one of the finest bottles you have. I'll have a salad and toast, lightly buttered with marmalade on top. The others will order as they so desire. Thank you," she said officially and as-a-matter-of-a-factly.
Over the time that their food was prepared, Levia emptied her glass, casually, as if the mood of their conversations about interesting and embarrassing moments as national leaders and high diplomats had brought about her drinking. Her cover was hidden well and she smiled to herself at the thought that none would be suspicious. Perhaps if she acted drunk, it would further disprove any ideas that she rather enjoyed alcohol.
Upon finishing their meals, she stood up and nodded to the little old man who joined them at the table. He smiled in their jest and easy humor as he took a seat.
"Levy....so whatcha bring me? Whenya gonna come in 'ere with a nice young man other than for business?"
Levia just resummed herself and did not smile.....relationships were a past history for her that she would rather move on from and forget.
"Why not introduce yourselves? I'm sure "Pop" would like to know who you all are?" Levia almost demanded, pouring the bottle of Bourbon into an empty glass sitting before her.

Travis didnt like to drink.. when there was alcohol at a gala, he was the one avoiding alcohol and searching for women who might have had one too many. Not women who were drunk, for that was underhanded and low.. but women who might be a little bit more up for fun in their palatial rooms.. women with power and husbands. All's fair in love and war. So he merely watched while the others, in particular Levia, downed their glasses of fine Bourbon; and but sipped lightly at his, disliking the taste immensely.
He was bored again, and stifled a yawn as Levia looked in his direction.. he told a contrived story about a foreign diplomat in Adyndril who got too tipsy at a party and ended up naked, shamed, and walking miles back to his country.. and didnt feel the feigned smile reach his eyes at the end of the tall tale.
Watching Levia drink more than her share of liquor, Travis wondered why she wasnt yet like most of the women who drank too much in his presence, and noticed his emotions turning to disappointment, another time.. maybe. He surmised that he wasn't going to have any fun this night, and only wished that they were already on their way to their intended destination.
He tried his best to appear interested when Levia introduced the old man she called, "Pop," and Travis introduced himself as friendly as he could; already wanting only to be back in his room, or on the road travelling again.
"Hello, good sir. I am Travis of Adyndril; its wonderful to be in your fine country, and your fine restaurant this evening... I thank you kindly for the hospitality," he said, trying to sound truthful, and indeed he had meant most, enjoying the meal, but the boredom in his voice may have possibly made it come off too dry and fake.

"Greetings sir, I am Madrius, ambassador from the Mechan Empire to the Reich. Pleased to meet you," Madrius shook the man's hand quickly while scanning him with his eye. He returned to his spam sandwich, scrolling through several screens of seemingly random numbers, maps, and figures. He idly sipped at the alcohol, taking it more for his cardiovascular health than for the taste, not that any Mechan ate or drank for the taste. He idly listened to Travis' story, storing it away in his memory for later digestion. For the most part, he spent his time in silence, lost in his own calculations, at one point going into a meditative state that he had been taught in Techmage training. The others mistook this for sleeping and roused him from his state at several points. Being slightly annoyed, he had to explain and prove that he had been listening the entire time, and went back to his research. Troop movements, information exchanges, and planning simulations all running through his head, double checked with his superiors of course. There was much work to do, and not as much time as the Mechans would like...

Standing for a few minutes, the transit car whished to a stop before her, where she boarded along with the others to the main central elevators, which they rode the length of time back to the floor of her office.
Exitting the elevator, she led them back into her office, where she motioned with her hand for them to feel free to take their seats. In the mean time, she retreated to behind her desk, grabbing a glass of water, and retreiving her cell phone......five missed calls.

Elric, who had deliberately refrained from speaking much during the all too ( for his tastes ) quick lunch, siezed on this opportunity to ply Levia with several questions he felt needed answering.
"Levia, please forgive my inquisitiveness, but there are several questions, mostly procedural, that I would like to ask before we part company. I know you have much to do, so I will be brief.
"Where should we meet you to begin our journey? What day and time? What should we bring? What should we wear? And perhaps most importantly, what questions have I not asked that perhaps I should?
"I realize this is a lot to ask in one fell swoop, but it was difficult to carry on a conversation of such import in the restaurant. If you could take just a moment to respond, it would be most appreciated."
He smiled at her, trying to distract her a bit from whatever was bothering her. She had seemed rather distracted during lunch. Elric mused upon what worries could cause such a furrowed brow.

Sass woke up, lying in a tangle of blankets on the floor bathed in cold sweat. It was happening again, her nightmares. She stood up naked and looked at the bruises she had acquired, all up and down her left side. That was one thing about recovering from juvenile leukemia, you never lost your affinity for bruising. Opening the windows she looked outside, she was on the top floor of her hotel, craving the height and need to escape. She had missed the mornings activities, and it was only fair that she come down from her perch and complete what she was sent here to do.
She logged into her computer, and sent a breif message to Levia's secretary apologizing for her unprofessionalness and that she would be joining them for the one o'clock meeting. Her tardiness, she assured them, wouldn't happen again.
She hopped in the shower, and when she was done sized herself up in the mirror. Her turquoise-green eyes, spiky blue black hair and olive skin, complete with dark circles under her eyes, and her one defining trait her sterling silver nose stud. She wrinkled her nose, and stuck her toungue out at herself. She was a mess. But she was a trained mess, and thank god for that. Coming back into the room, she strapped her knife holster to her left upper thigh, and put on black slacks as well as a black halter top and a black jacket. She carefully selected a pin, that looked like a large decorative needle, and an onyx necklace. She had no preference for jewelry, mainly becuase they were wired with a cameras and sound, so if the place didnt have everything around it scrambled for no out transmitted, she might get something to send back to Corbin Dallas. With that she picked up the file and went immediately to the elevator bay.
She smirked to herself when she reached the building and Levia's secretary, and requested to be placed in the meeting room that they would be using when they all returned from lunch. Wouldn't they just die if the knew how old she really was? Wincing she sat down, her new bruising supremely uncomfortable, and waited, looking around the room trying to soak in details without being too obvious.
She wiped her mouth unconciously with the back of her hand, and saw that her gums were bleeding slightly. She knew it was coming back. It didn't alarm her, just put a kink her plans. Gingerly, she licked her own blood off of herself and swallowed. Apparantly, she wouldn't be talking much this meeting either.

Once all had been situated, Levia took her seat at the head of the table, placing her hands interlocked atop of the table. She sat for a moment before taking a deep breath and letting it slowly, controlling the early onset of rage for that day.
"Before we begin, are there any questions?" Not waiting for a reply, she began her long anticipated speech to her group. "As many of you know, many years ago, the newly founded region of The Reich had lived peacefully, for a brief time, before it was attacked from an unknown nation. Later that enemy revealed itself to be Dante, the leader of what was at the time an allied nation of The Reich. In no time, he had assembled a massive empire, which he had brought into war against The Reich. During this time, he had managed to destroy much of The Dictatorship, cease control of COSP, and destroy at the time, a little less than half of The Reich. Since then, he had a child, who it has been revealed to now be the leader of Mahanoy, the continum of Dante's world wide empire. That is the briefest history I can give you concerning our war.
"I imagine you are all wondering why I have brought you here? The answer is simple, I am looking for intelligent leaders who will have the capability to govern mass movements of troops, lead assaults, organize troop movements, assist in weapon distribution and creation, less destructive alternatives to war, and such forth. You, I hope, will be promising additions to The Reich and perhaps The Reich Military if all goes well. But I first need to know how far you are willing to go to support The Reich's war and what is the extent to the help you can offer and your comfort zones you work in.
"So please.....begin," she finished in her professional business manner, her unflinching body seemingly at ease in her position at the current moment.

Sass breathed in sharply through her nostrils, even now she could taste the coating of blood that covered her teeth and would continue seeping from her gums until she could get back to her hotel room and take some clotting medication. Thinking quickly she opened her folder and removed a peice of paper, onto it in clear handwriting she wrote, "I developed laryngitis, and lost my voice. I would be delighted to write my intentions out for you, if you would be willing to read them for the group." When she was done, she folded the paper in half, smartly uncrossed her legs and walked over to Levia. Sass tapped her lightly on the shoulder to gain her attention and handed her the paper. After Levia had unfolded it and read it contents, Sass inclined her head and returned to her seat, already taking out paper and pen again in order to write down why she was here and what she wanted to do for the Reich.

As expected, this was a very diverse company. He was mildly surprised that they were even able to work together, but considering the dictatorial nature of the Reich, only mildly. If Levia was any indication, the Reich ruled with a mailed fist, only occasionally covering it with a velvet glove.
Andros would be pleased that he had been so very close to the truth.

"You can count on The New Eutruscan Repubic to help in any way we are able, Levia. I mentioned this earlier, but just wanted to reiterate our support."
"Just point me in the right direction and I'll do the best I can to help redeem a very bad situation."

Sass had heard Elric's statement to Levia, while writing her information down. Glancing back down she looked at what she wrote:
I am Cassaundra Holzapfel of the Republik of Ferdinand Foch. I work for the Ministry of Defense, in the Intelligence Department. I specialize in questioned documents and weapons intelligence. I am also a trained soldier, and my direct superior is Corbin Dallas, AI. My mission here is to provide aid as directed by the head of this operation in whatever means necessary and however it is deemed fit.
Sass sucked and swallowed some more blood from her teeth, as she folded the paper and wrote in block lettering PLEASE READ on the outside. Standing once again she gave her information to Levia, and sat back down.
All she was waiting for now was the fireworks.

Madrius came up behind Elric after listening to his communication bead for a while. "Excuse me sir, but I'm afraid that my superiors have noticed a difference in your blood type that we have not encountered before. If you will excuse me..." He pulled out a six inch bowie knife and pulled out a jar of corrosive acid, applying it liberally to the blade, "The acid releases the blood, breaks it down into its corrosive elements."
Before Elric could react, Madrius plunged the knife into Elric's side, spewing blood everywhere, and twisted the knife until a light on the end glowed green. Madrius grinned, "Thank you mister Elric, I shal have the results back to you shortly..."

Madrius came up behind Elric after listening to his communication bead for a while. Before Elric could react, Madrius plunged the knife into Elric's side, spewing blood everywhere, and twisted the knife until a light on the end glowed green. Madrius grinned, "Thank you mister Elric, I shal have the results back to you shortly..."
Grabbing his side, Elric applied pressure sufficient to staunch the bleeding. Simultaneously grabbing his cane, he rapped the handle sharply on the corner of the desk. The outer sheath of the cane slid off, revealing a double-edged blade about three feet long.
Leaping to his feet, he pushed Madrius back against the wall, the tip of his blade pressing against the apparently quite mad Madrius' abdomen, right over where his liver should be.
"You have exactly three seconds to give an adequate explanation before I separate your body from whatever you have that passes for a soul, and one of them is already gone."
Holding Madrius against the wall with the sword, Elric reached into the side pocket on his suitcoat, pulled out a vial, flipped off the top and pressed the open end to the wound on his side. What had appeared to be a black, viscous, inert liquid seemed to flow upward into the wound.

Levia stood up slowly, monitoring the situation, before grabbing the blade from Elric's cane. She clenched her hand tightly around it, the blade cutting into her skin, before pushing it away from Madrius's abdomen.
"Sit down at once," she ordered, her hand still wrapped around the blade with the warm blood pouring from her hand down the blade and dripping steadily onto the ground. "This behavior will not be tolerated amongst you all," she glared angerily, waiting impatiently for both Madrius and Elric to take their seats.
[Glaring at Madrius, Elric reluctantly allowed the sword to drop. Looking at Levia's hand, he applied the same vial he had used on his own wound to the cuts on her hand.
"Nanobots," Elric explained, "They'll pass out in your urine after they've repaired any damage."
Glaring at Madrius once again, he returned to his seat and recomposed himself.]
Before the vial could touch her wound, Levia promptly shoved it away in haste, panicking almost to get it away from her. "No, I cannot accept your help," Levia gasped.
Looking at them both with widened eyes, almost in fear, she took a step back and waited for them to take their seats. After they both had taken their seats, Levia stood there, impatiently tapping her foor unconsciously.
"Since it seems evident to me that no one has any questions, I will take my leave tomorrow, heading toward Stadt. We have military transporation that can carry a small group of us, no more then twenty people, into Stadt des Meeres. If any of you have any questions as to what is going on, we will discuss it privately once you dismiss. If not, we meet tomorrow, at nine in the morning, at the base level before the main enterence," she said hastily, before turning her back to the group and clutching her still bleeding hand.

Watching Levia carefully, Elric felt of his side. The wound, serious though it may have been, was almost completely healed.
Puzzled by Levia's unexpected behavior, Elric remained silent for a few moments, finally deciding to let the matter drop.
"I will be ready, Director Levia," he stated. "Any questions I might have will most likely be answered during our trip."

Watching in facination as the wound healed, Madrius carefully recorded the healing of the wound. "Ah, yes, of course, nanobots. A kind I have not yet encountered! This explains everything! The others will be pleased! Thank you Mr. Elric, and you Ms. Levia! I am prepared to leave for whatever assignment we have awaiting us. This is already bearing fruitful results!" He excitedly began pacing about the room.

"Seeing no concerns, you are all dismissed," Levia said quietly, her bleeding hand falling to her side as she turned to her desk and resummed her seat in the large black ergonomic chair behind it.
She stared out blankly, looking to her guests, but seeing none of them. Her cravings had returned after only a half a day; her irritations augmenting so soon as well. Continuing to see nothing, her mind raced forwards and backwards, moving in circles and in different levels of consciousness. Her mind seemed to be set on central thought though.....pain.

Bursting into the meeting, Levia's secretary took a deep breath before looking at the befuddled group before her. "Forgive me Director," she breathlessly apologized before looking anxiously from the group to Levia, who sat, as customarily as she did, behind her desk with her hands folded and placed on the desk before her, staring at anyone or anything that was before her. "Director, please, I have urgent news to share with you," she spoke, still catching her breath, looking anxiously at the group again. "Can you excuse yourself for a moment?" she asked quickly, the unassurance of whether or not this matter should be addressed before their guests creating a great deal of anxiety within her.
"Yes," Levia spoke flatly, standing up from behind her desk, straightening her business skirt with her uncut left hand before moving away from her desk and outside the room, closing the door tightly behind her.
"What is it that couldn't wait?" she impatiently asked, her attention seeming to refocus itself on the present again.
"Levia...." she breathed deeply, "The Red Queen is back up," she whispered quickly, a hint of fear and excitement creeping into her voice. "I thought you ought to know before you make any plans," she finished, seeing that Levia may have wanted to wait to her this information.
"Good, it's about time, hook me up with while I wrap things up inside. There's a lot to get finished," she simply stated, turning her back to her secretary and opening the door again to her office room.
"I apologize for my absense," Levia responded, moving toward her desk again, taking a seat and staring at guests still.....the idea entertaining her thoughts; all the possibilities they had with The Red Queen running once again.

Madrius, unaffected as always, pulled out several large maps, looking over them intently. Another display flickered with a green glow, a hologram suspended from his holographic eye. The others moaned as he prattled on about what seemed like utter nonsense, momentarily lapsing into what sounded like garbled binary before continuing on as if nothing happened.
As Levia entered the room again, Madrius looked up, "Oh, Ms. Levia. Was there something important that we need to know about? That female seemed to be rather excited, I do hope everything is going to plan?" He looked at here inquisitively, his intense gaze peering not so much at her, but through her, as if he knew something was afoot.
Suddenly his green lense flashed quickly, and Madrius' real eye widened, "Oh, I almost forgot, I have a private transmission from the Council regarding our continued purpose here. Should I give it to you now, or would you prefer I send it through your secretary?" Suddenly becoming aware of the annoyed stares the others gave him as he hogged the conversation, Madrius offered no apology, merely sat down and waited for the others to speak.

"We are finished here, you all may leave now. Madrius, if you needed to discuss anything, you may stay. Everyone else, you are dismissed. Return to your rooms, you have the evening to enjoy the remainder of your stay within A New Hope," Levia finished, impatiently tapping her foot, neglecting the blood still dripping steadily from her hand.
From her desk, the phone rang without warning, startling her. Knowing the matters of the content, she rushed over to it, seizing it up and bringing it quickly to her ear. "Yes. Thank you. I understand," she spoke intermittingly before hanging up the phone and sitting back into her chair.
Grabbing her clutch, she searched through it and grabbed a cell phone, that she began to dial numbers into hastily. Finishing her task, she closed the phone, and looked back to the group still sitting there.
"Official Reich business," she offered quickly before resumming her professional business demeanor. "Now, please, you are dismissed."

Elric wondered what had been so crutial as to warrant interrupting their meeting. Unless he had completely misjudged Levia, she would not welcome such interruptions without excellent cause.

Madrius pulled out a small envelope with an inscription that would be unframiliar to those in the room. He placed the letter in front of Levia, saying in a barely audiable tone, "It is not often that they send something in actual print. Open the letter at your leisure, but read it carefully, the Council does not feel it is efficient to waste time. They are not as kind as I am, relatively of course. We are here to help...but the Council will expect great things in return. Know that even though we may seem very different, we will risk our lives for the stability of this region. Our kind has gone through much hardship to establish ourselves here. Our sword is yours," Madrius then merely stood up and left the room, glancing at no one as he strode down the hall.

Waiting until the room cleared, Levia waited momentarily before leaving herself, grabbing her clutch and the letter on her way out of the office. "I am out for the evening. If anyone needs me, you know how to get in touch with me. As for The Red Queen, it is in our best interests to keep this on the down low. I am not sure how our new guests will react to her presence," Levia told her secretary before riding the elevators to the third level.
Standing outside her infamous resturant, Levia stared at the red letters and the black building. VERTIGO......memories were forged here. Stepping inside, she walked up the bar. "Scotch," she said sharply, avoiding to acknowledge the early starters stares.
The recent news had brought with it a much higher degree of abilities, but the unsettling fear within rose again. The Red Queen's true power could never be unleashed again......never.....

Waking up within the early morning hours again, Levia found herself passed out in her bathroom. Having no recollection of the night before, Levia turned the water on of her shower and climbed in beneath the cascading warm water that soothed her stiffened muscles. Completing her shower, she dressed hastily again, in a similiar black skirt, white blouse, and black uniform jacket with the symbol of The Reich embroidered in red over her left breast. She pinned on her official position's mark onto the opening of the jacket before sliding into a pair of black heels and grabbing her clutch again.
Rushing out of the door in haste, she found the vechile she compensated for Official Reich use parked haphazardly in the middle of the road sideways. Shaking her head, she walked down the street, deciding that today would be the best time to walk to work.
After three blocks though, her she became aware of a presence behind her. Turning to find a man following not far behind her, she glared at him sharply before turning back around again and continuing her walk. The man still followed though, moving closer ever so faster. Whipping around, she yelled, "What the hell do you want?"
Striking Levia upside the head with the handle of a gun he had been carrying, he knocked Levia onto the ground before clammering on top of her, pinning her to the sidewalk.
"Get off me!" she yelled, the rage surfacing quickly, panic and fear beginning to rise.
Holding the gun to her head, he pressed down on her imposingly running his hand up her leg.
"Get off of me you pig!" she yelled louder.
The man began to kiss her neck, Levia struggling beneath his weight. Struggling to reach her clutch, she found it, pulling it over to her side. Seeing Levia move, the man grabbed her wrists and pinned them abover her head.
"You don't know what you are doing," she told him angerily, fighting to break free from the man's tight grasp.
The man leaned forward and kissed her again, Levia lurching her head forward and biting his lip, tearing away at his lip. The man pulled away, cursing incoherently, as Levia took the advantage to offset his weight and push him off of her. Her fighting instincts overtaking her, Levia swung the heal of her shoe into fast, cutting a three itch gash from his ear to lip. Taking the chance to grab her clutch, she opened it and shuffled through, being knocked against the wall as the man decided to fight back. Kicking him the groin, she struggled from his grip once more, searching through her clutch. Standing to his feet, the man smashed her head against the building, sending her to the ground. Her vision blurred and her head throbbed, but she still searched until her fingers wrapped themselves around a small button sized object. Removing on the objects, she drove it into his chest, sticking it right beneath the xyphoid process of his sternum.
"Don't move," she yelled as the man advanced again.
He struck her hard across the face, knocking her to her side. "Don't move," she yelled again, only to feel her head slam against the building again.
"Detonate," she murmured weakily, her vision swirling and spinning into darkness. The blast send her body into the building once more, knocking her into the darkness for good.

The screams and blast had awoke those in the nearby buildings and within twenty minutes, the scene of the attack was bustling, sirens screaming, lights flashing rapidly, red white blue, red white blue, as the area seemed to come to life with an eruption of curious questions, gasps, and conversations. The police assembled quickly, rushing in from all areas of the city, surrounding the immediate scene with sectioning off tape, refusing to let anyone past.
Levia still had not awoken, nor did it look like she would anytime soon. She lay unmoving, almost lifeless, against the building within a puddle of her own blood. Identified within moments by the lapel on her uniform jacket, the police quickly secured the area. A Reich Official attacked and unconscious, possibly in a life threatening comprimising situation, this was a serious situation indeed.
Paramedics were called, rushing to the scene within minutes. Whatever happened here would need to be treated quickly, without word of the Reich Official being attacked.

Madrius sat with a holographic display out in front of him. Holding his fingers at chest height, he typed rapidly, letters blurring across the screen. A small military duffel bag with what few belongings he required sat next to his feet, and those of his two retainers not far away. The two other Mechans had arrived a few hours ago, "a gift," they had said, from the Council, as evidence of their good faith in his mission. Madrius dared not to refuse the council, so they had left as soon as he had confirmed the Council's letter. It had been...difficult to give them the proper authorization, especially with an unhelpful receptionist with whom Madrius had spoken with, but eventually the two showed up at the door to his quarters.
They were ever vigilant men, both from the Penal Regiments. One had been regular military, a thick man named Swart, who now stood glaring at the other travellers. His thick arms were littered with tattoos, and both his eyes shone with a deep, hateful crimson. Many tubes came out from his scalp, several of the dataport tubes, flailing gently in the air. His duffel was really a miniature arsenal, with multiple submachine guns, weapon clips, even a few explosives haphazardly thrown into a three foot long bag. Madrius abhorred the need of such a man, but saw the usefulness in travelling into such an unsecure area.
The other Mechan military man he could respect more. He went by the name Forgah, and even now, Madrius barely noticed his presence. He had been part of a scout force appearently, and appeared quite normal and unremarkable as far as Madrius could tell, part of what gave him his ability to hide, especially in crowds. His face was narrow and plain, the type of face you were bound to forget, and just ugly enough that you would force yourself to not remember, even if you did. The fellow appeared to be skinny, and seemed quite normal in all ways. His duffel, while equipped with a submachine gun and two handguns, was mainly taken up by a disguise kit. Right now he appeared to be a completely normal human, his left prosthetic eye covered by artificial skin and a real looking electronic eyeball. His right hand was barely noticable, with a certain slowness that could only be due to a low grade prosthesis. Madrius also appreciated the man for his less violent nature.
Staring uncomfortably between his two escorts and the others, Madrius looked up from his typing and stated, "Ms. Levia is a bit late. Does anyone know of her whereabouts?"

A ghost of a shadow floated on the ground, hidden by a small man under moonlight. Putin could not see the face of the man underneath that large hood of his, as in their last encounter, but from their one previous meeting Putin had garnered that the man was well to do, and rather good at keeping his identity a well-kept secret. He did not have an inkling of a clue at what else ticked within this man's mind, or what he was capable of, but that fact didn't bother him. He was going to be payed for doing a job, that was the reason for this late meeting, the reason for his continued existance.
"Was it done?" He asked in a gruff voice, disguising it, obvious from his small stature.
--
"Yes, I had a crackhead from one of my houses attack try to rape her. He was killed, but it doesnt matter, he did what you wanted him to do.." the man called Putin replied quickly, still thinking he was in control of the situation.
"Levia was not maimed as I requested." He retorted irritatingly, fouling up his voice disguise.. he did not like it when they told him to foul up his voice disguises. He didn't want to hear the other voice anymore. It was blackened night in his mind.
"But she fought him off! It was not my fault!"
"Silence. You've failed, her fear is not enough to satisfy me.. nor are her injuries. I told you to bring me her left nipple, but she was not maimed at all. Your man inflicted mere flesh wounds, and thats not good enough."
--
With the resonance of his last three words hanging in the air, sounding as if it had come from a different voice completely, something vile and wrong, Putin froze. His mind and body were paralyzed with fear.
The man drew his knife, and Putin couldn't scream.
He stepped towards him, and Putin couldn't scream.
--
The man put the tip of his knife slowly into the worm looking into darkness, but he didn't scream. Thunderclouds rolled in the distance, covering the moon, and washing all moonlight out of the visible area. A thunderclap shook the ground as he inched his knife down this ugly, fat worm's body, and the man screamed then, a piercing cry rolling through the night like the clouds in the sky.
And angels sung to him.
--
Lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the cloaked man's face for a brief instant, it was Putin's last sight on this Earth. His screams did not die until long after he had taken in his last breath.

Elric returned to his room, set up the communcator, and called Andros.
"Greetings, old friend," Andros rumbled, his sonorous voice containing the same upbeat, slightly amused tone that had sustained them all through the times of struggle. "How goes it?"
"Even stranger than we had imagined," Elric chuckled. "Some demented Mech tried to kill me right in Director Levia's office!"
"I take it you managed to survive once again?" Andros chuckled. "Did you have to resort to the new nanobots?"
"Yes. I would have bled out rather quickly. The nanobots work very well, although they burn a bit at the other end."
Andros laughed, that deep, rumbling laugh that was so infectuous.
"I'm certainly glad you had them to use, old friend. It would have been a real pain in the ass to find a replacement for the likes of you!"
It was Elric's turn to laugh. This had been a standing joke between them for many years.
"What other news, Gato?" Andros asked, using Elric's old moniker from the days of the revolution.
"Director Levia will be taking us to one of the Reich's destroyed cities soon."
Elric outlined the details at length for Andros.
"I have to admit to being drawn to Director Levia, for some reason," Elric smiled.
This time the rumbing laugh was louder.
"Gato, you're 'drawn' to virtually every woman you see!"
"Call it a weakness, you monogamous old fart!" Elric laughed back.
"Ok, Gato ... it's a weakness. One of your more obvious vices." Andros replied, only half in jest.
This was the subject of constant debate between the two of them. Andros fretted about Elric's tendency to bed virtually any woman to whom he was even mildly attracted. Elric knew it was a weakness, but life was to be lived while it lasted.
"At any rate, I will keep you posted, although that may be a bit more difficult during our travels here. Don't be too dismayed if several days go by without any word from me."
"I understand, Gato," Andros replied, suddenly serious. "Just don't let more than a week go by without contacting me. Otherwise, I shall have to send some of our ... people ... after you."
"Do that only as a last resort, El Alguien Liso," Elric cautioned, now using Andros' own moniker from their days together in the years of conflict. "We don't want the capabilites of our Retrieval Teams known just yet, remember?"
"Of course. But neither do we want to lose our most valuable agent provacatuer. Just make sure you call in!" Andros gave a great sigh. "How I wish I could be with you, old friend. I miss being a revolutionary. Now, in this time of euphemistic 'peace,' I am surrounded by syncophants and weasels!"
Elric gave a rueful chuckle. "I know ... how well I know. I wish you were with me too, Alguien. Together, we were unbeatable, were we not? But such is not to be. Times change, and the universe moves on, and old revolutionaries like ourselves find they must either adjust, and that very quickly, or slowly waste away. But enough reminiscing. I promise to keep you posted as often as possible, if for no other reason than to preclude El Alguien Liso from having un ataque cardíaco."
Now Andros' laugh was a truly hearty one.
"You always did know how to make me laugh, Gato. Good blessings on you, old friend."
"And on you as well, Andros. Elric out."
Elric sat on the edge of the bed for long minutes, remembering.
Finally, he recovered the communication gear, stowed it away in his battered old briefcase, and began to make a list of things he wanted to take on this new adventure.

Arriving on the scene, the paramedics rushed over to Levia, wasting no time in trying to procure her safety. Surveying the immediate scene, the only danger besides the rather large gawking crowd forming just outside of the police line, appeared to have already been handled with his chest blown to pieces just a few feet from Levia. Unsure of whether to move her or not because of the possibily of neck or spinal cord injuries that may have occured, they took as many precautions as possible to move her minimally.
Levia then snapped awake, her eyes straining to focus on the object that had just gently touched her shoulder. "Get away!" she yelled again, feeling the rush from the previous fight return at once again, preparing her body for yet another encounter with the enemy.
Her head throbbed and ached, pressure building inside her skull, but she still insistentially backed away, whipping her arm around to strike anyone within arm's reach. "Get away now!" she yelled more intensely, still trying to focus on the blurred objects slowly taking form.
Struggling to stand, she felt hands grasp causing the adrenaline to rush once more throughout her body. She forced herself backward, bringing the heel of her high black shoes into one of the paramedics jaw as she deliberately dropped herself. Once on the ground, she searched for her clutch again, finding it only an arm's length away from her. Bringing it around, she struck the poor paramedic across the face as he was still recovering from the strike to his jaw in which he bit his tongue.
The crowd gasped in amazement and curiousity. A Reich Official in a fight; it was not every day that they had the priviledge to see these superiorly trained professionals exert their powers, especially over a comman man. Searching through her clutch, she grabbed another small button shapened object, driving it into the man's sternum, or at least where she imagined his sternum to be in her blurred daze of confusement under the intense throbbing pressure compounding her thinking.
"Stay away," she yelled, the figure beginning to develop a face, as the paramedic felt the tiny object drive itself into his chest, firmly attaching itself to its target. He heeded her call, refusing to fail compliance. He stood still, not moving the slightest inch.
His face took form and shape, his eyes becoming dark midnight blue pools beneath the sweat that was pouring down his face. Disheveled blonde hair frame his face. His facial features were softer then most she was accustomed to in The Reich Military. And then she recognized the flashing lights that were blinding near seizure spasms before. The clean uniform of the paramedic stood to her as well. She looked around quickly in frantic, a crowd now blocks long surrounding the immediate area, the police, paramedics, and the body of the man who had first attacked her. It all dawned on her, and she shrugged in jestful recognition.
Putting her hand out to the man's chest, "disengage," she simple spoke, the bomb releasing itself from its target and falling into her opened palm. She clutched it and placed it back into her clutch.
"Sorry kind sir, I did not mean to harm you. I felt threatened," she said quietly, beneath the pressure, feeling now dizzy and nauseous as her body's parasympathic mode kicked in, bringing her out of the flight of fight response.
She stumbled forward, the paramedic catching her. "I'm just dizzy," she responded. "Take me to my office," she ordered.
"But Director, ma'am, you need to get to a hospital. You're bleeding, may suffer a traumatic brain injury, there is blood coming from your ear," the paramedic tried fruitlessly to convince her.
"This is an order sir. Take me to my office. I have no time to waste. I'm departing today," she said aggitatedly, her head still intensely throbbing. "And someone ID that man," she finished, allowing the paramedic to guide her to the ambulance, the defeaning roar of the crowd taking away the little energy she had left to stand. The lights blurred, the sounds cascaded in a defeaning roar that invoked her head to hurt even more, the motions cause her queasy stomach to wretch violently.
Once inside the ambulance, the paramedic sat aside of her as they drove toward the Imperial New Hope, the grace and defiance and hope of The Reich.
Outside of the massive structure that composed of a city within, the ambulance stopped, the doors opening, with the paramedic stepping out. Holding out his arm, he assisted the semi-conscious Levia out and onto the pavement. Her stance faultered, and he ended up catching her tightly within his grasp, holding onto her to prevent her from falling.
Entering the city, she heard the immediate gasps and silence erupting, the looks of the even now bustling lobby. Everything went silent in a still in the moment that they saw the Direct of The Reich Military's Intelligence standing there looking as if she were just hit by a car. Taking leave from their posts, two gaurds rushed over to her immediately, demanding an explanation. Levia merely raised her hand in silence.
"Call everyone, we leave earlier that anticipated. I see Mister Madrius is already prepared to leave. Get the rest, we leave at once," she said weakily, her head not relenting it's furious hold of pain, feeling a sense of satisfication that Madrius was on top of things within The Reich, he may just be the symbol of loyalty that The Reich needed.

Before he could get to the door, whomever it was knocked again, even more insistently.
As he opened it, the young Captain from the Riech-Marines ( as least that's how Elric thought of them ) blurted out, "Ambassador Diecletion, Director Levia wants everyone to assemble at the building's lobby. She has moved up the departure date."
Only mildly surprised, Elric replied, "Do I have time to change, or shall I begin our journey like this?" He indicated his underwear and house-slippers.
"Uh ... we will wait outside for you to change, sir, but please hurry."
Elric closed the door, smiling broadly, and quickly donned his specially designed jumpsuit, fastened his broad leather belt with all the pockets and clips around his waist, placed his wide-brimmed hat on his head, and grabbed his briefcase ( now backpack ) and cane.

Madrius gestured Swart over to Levia's side. The woman was barely concious, and had serious wounds, and that was obvious just by looking at her. Madrius looked through as many different scans as his optics provided, looking at heat signatures, a tentative x-ray scan, etc. Madrius noted massive head trauma, causing the ear to bleed profusely as well. Neck trauma, as well as multiple burn marks and shrapnel puncture wounds dotted other areas of her body.
"Ms. Levia, you are in serious condition. You are following your cause devoutly, but you have massive head and neck trauma. I cannot tell the full extent of the damage with the limited equipment I have here, but it is very obvious that you need to go to a medical facility immediately. It is possible that one of your eardrums may have burst, and your brain could very easily hemmorage at any moment," Madrius turned to Swart, who stood dispassionately over the injured woman.
"Swart, have you brought any medical supplies, or must she go with these medics here?" He looked at the glowing red eyes as the other Mechan shook his head no, "Very well then. Medic, this woman needs serious medical care immediately. Please rush her there as soon as possible!"

"I'm fine," Levia responded aggitated, her eye beginning to twitch uncontrollably. She just wanted to get to Stadt, there was no purpose here at the moment. Behind her, the large crowd had managed to catch up, having followed her all the way here. "Goodness," she exlaimed, exasperated at the thought of their curiousity.
Crime was not common in A New Hope; this was definately a new experience for many of these people. Struggling against her building rage, she took a deep breath before beginning to search through her clutch again. Finding her cell phone, she dialed a number and brought the phone to her ear, it did not even ring before connecting her to her source. "I need a disturbance control. Have every member avialable, return these people to their homes, assure them everything is fine and don't answer their questions," Levia spoke softly, calmly for once, into the phone before shutting her phone and turning back to collecting group.
"Let's go," she said, turning around to leave. Outside there was a line of smooth sleek black cars all in line, waiting for their passengers. Stepping inside the car, Levia traveled with the first car, the remainder for those who were coming to Stadt des Meeres.

Travis didn't get the message that they were leaving until long after most of the others, so he was in a rush to gather his things before they left.
After dressing in a rush, he hastily scrawled a note and left it in his messagebox to be sent to Adyndril as soon as it could be done, grabbed his large travel bag, and placed his knife behind the belt of his pants.
Taking off in a rapid stride towards the meeting point, Travis couldn't help but feel as if he were being watched. It was uncomfortable, but not entirely unwarranted, if the news about Levia was true.. and he had grown accustomed to that feeling living in Adyndril.
He had arrived just in time, the first of a line of black vehicles had just taken off into the distance, and the last of the passengers had sat down in a car. Travis walked to the last one in the line, a chauffer opening the back door for him.
Travis tossed his bag and jacket into the back seat and asked with a smile, "So... can I drive?"
The chauffer smiled at what seemed to be an apparent joke, and Travis took that to mean as much as a no.. so he sat down in the back seat, feeling rather thankful for not pressing the issue. He needed a bit more sleep before arriving at a place rumor said Satan herself wouldn't go.
Travis got his wish, and slept until the car jolted to a stop.

Madrius sat in the car with the two other Mechans. He felt uncomfortable in between the two military men, both sitting even more stoically than most Mechans, scanning their surroundings constantly. Madrius found it difficult to concentrate at the matters at hand with the two peering over his shoulder.
Focusing on the display in front of him, Madrius went through many simulations. There were many dfferent factions and political areas of strife in the area they headed toward. Madrius had already gone through many simulations, and was narrowing down to the three most likely situations. There had been some talk of an entity known as the Red Queen before he had left to this land, and Madrius found an increasing necessity to meet with her. Many questions aroused in his head, and he quickly stored them into his internal memories to recall later.

Deeply startled by Levia's appearance, Elric made it to the last car just before it pulled out.

Travis woke up after the car jolted having a nightmare wrought in darkness and pain.
Groggily, without cognition of where he was quite yet, Travis mumbled, "what a horrible dream."
Looking up, Travis thought he saw someone in the car with him.. but that was impossible, he had gotten into the car alone. He blinked the sleep out of his eyes and shook his head once, running his fingers through his now unclean, long-ish black hair. A wisp of a strand hung in front of his face obstructing his vision, but he nearly had to smack himself to gather in what he was seeing in front of him.
"Art..... Artemis?? How the fuck.."
"Be quiet, and listen before you flap, impudent one. You should not have left Adyndril.. Kahlan banished me from the city and took the Head Governor's seat. And as we both know that she causes half the problems OF the city, we also know that she wont have any trouble stopping them, being hailed as a hero, and becoming Governor for life, like your father. Now.. what have you to say of your actions this past week?"
"I left to find Richard and bring him back.. you know that."
"Rumors awash the city that Richard is dead, perhaps we should settle with that fact as well. The official embassy report that The Reich sent us before I left is almost enough to confirm it. Doubting the Reich's word in front of their faces is no way to maintain good relations."
"Im going to find my brother."
There was a long pause as Artemis stared hard into Travis' eyes.
"Then.. you're not going alone."
The car had long ago started moving again.. and Travis wanted to know what the hell that old man had bartered for a ride.. but didn't care enough to ask. After another long moment with Artemis' eyes on Travis like a hawks on a rabbit, he finally sighed and pulled out his long knife, symbol of an Adyndril governor, and began sharpening it with a stone.
Travis did the same, and they rode on in silence.

Levia closed her eyes, her body slumping forward, the paramedic still beside her, refusing to leave her side until she was in a medical facility. He reacted quickly by searching through his pocket for a penlight that he shone into Levia's eyes. She was still responsive; this was good.
Holding Levia who slid into his lap, he allowed her the chance to sleep while periodically checking her responsiveness and vitals to ensure that she was not in any immediate danger.
The cars drove for almost an hour before pulling up to a large international airport, security moving anyone out of the way who was not part of the procession. Many people looked curiously past the guards that held a line around their parking zone; countless people who were gawking for just a peek at who was so important to merit such high clearance and security measures.
Stopping, Levia was startled awake, she groaned as the pressure in her refused to relent slight before looking to the paramedic again. "Do you have a name?" she asked aggitated, realizing that he would not leave until she was alright.
"Lucas," he said with a smile, "my name is Lucas."
"Well Lucas, grab your bags. We're in for one hell of a flight," she said with mild irritation as she stepped outside of the car, wobbling with instability as Lucas rushed over to her to assist while walking.
"This is really starting to get annoying," she snapped angerily, grabbing her clutch tightly in her hand.
"You're not well yet Director," he simply said, refusing to let go of her.
Once inside the airport, she merely looked to the security to have immediate clearance. Guiding her, Levia verbally directed her to Gate P8, a private properties gate with special maintaince. She boarded the plane first, collapsing into one of the comfortable interior seats. They were flying in a priceless work of art, so much money invested into building this plane to carry them into Stadt.
Waiting for the other's to make it through clearence and board, she closed her eyes, leaning her head back in the seat, her blood now mostly dried and running across her face and down her ear and neck. She looked horrible and distorted, any beauty she may have had masked beneath the layer dirt and blood that matted her blonde hair and pale skin.

Travis was mightily impressed with how professional everything was around here, but he avoided looking surprised, which was a helluva lot easier after seeing a building with one million people. Rumors ending up being true always did bother him quite a bit.
Artemis walked abreast of him, making Travis feel much more at home.. it was unfortunate that the circumstances in which he was here meant bad tidings for Adyndril.
The first thing Travis noticed upon entering the plane was Levia's condition. She had taken quite a beating.. Travis did not know whether or not to feel sorry for her; after all, with the way she treats people, she might have very well had it coming. He would wait to hear details before making a judgement on that.
He took a seat in the same isle as Levia, but on the other side of the plane.. Artemis sitting down directly behind him.. and while the other passengers were getting their seats, Travis couldn't help but keep sneaking peeks at Levia and her injuries. They were driving his curiosity through the roof.
Artemis had already started reading some silly history book, so Travis decided to just kick back in the suprisingly comfortable seats, and devote some time to thinking.
OOC: really, really tired. i think this is crap, but im not sure. its not nearly as i pictured it in my mind, too little detail. :-/

Preferring to keep a relatively low profile, Elric followed the others onto the airplane, found a seat, and occupied himself with observing the others in the group.

Levia awoke slowly to the intense pounding within in her head. It had been many hours since she had fallen asleep; sleeping almost an entire day away without the pain slightly relenting. She was thankful that it was already dark and the planes lights were dimmed to just a notch above the emergency lights; the thought comforted her, the darkness provided her cover from anyone's awkward stares.
Sitting up straight, having slouched and fallen slightly from the trip, she felt the tight patches of her skin where the bood had dried and clung onto her. Her hair, she could tell, was matted with the dried blood; she must have been some sight for these guests.
Feeling the need for a drink, Levia stood up and walked toward the back of the plane, an area sectioned off for the bathrooms and a mini bar. Grabbing one of the bottles when no one was looking, she cradled it as she made her way toward the bathroom, opening the door, and locking herself within it. She finished half of the bottle over a duration of ten minutes, feeling comforted by its intoxicating presence. Feeling satisfied, she left the bathroom, they were beginning their final descent into Surukai, the runway cleared and the next plane ready for take over.
They landed and transferred planes, a process that took no longer then fifteen minutes before they were in the air again, Levia feeling passive from the effects of the alcohol, the pounding in her head still present yet no longer having the impact on her as they had before.
A few hours passed, silent words spoken here at there between members of the plane; few people had dared to speak to Levia, there was few things they could say at this point. No one had heard of what had happened to her; she preferred that it would remain so until absolutely necessary. The plane entered Dictatorship territory, a deafening silence seeming to permeate into the plane as they traveled further into its desolate holds. The hum of the plane grew louder as they flew, the rush and roar of the turbines screaming aloud in the lifeless skies of The Dictatorship.
Morning had come and gone a long time ago, it was nearing night again; the sun faded from the dying day. It was there it appeared, come closer to sight, the devastation of the eradicated Stadt des Meeres. Once strong and proud structures were on their sides now, building obliterated beneath the bombs of Genocide. In the distance, on top of a hill outside of Stadt, stood a massive blackened mansion, its dark battlements stretching out the sky, defying the devastation around it. They approached this building and moved past it as they descended. A small airport lay crudely carved into the ground, the works of The Red Queen after the destruction of Stadt. They landed, Levia being the first to stand.
Turning to the guests, she prepared herself for it, taking a deep breath as the anxiety coursed through her, raising higher, "We are now in Stadt des Meeres of The Dictatorship. It's not the most stable place, so you are all cautioned to be on your highest alert. Whatever happened here isn't fully known and we may be in for quiet the shock of our lifetimes.......we may just be walking into a massacre, a building full of dead bodies for all we know. If you are weak in the stomach, you are advised to stay back here with the pilots and your escorts. They are proficiently trained military personnel, so you will be safe if you choose to remain with them. As for those who are with me, follow me, and watch your step," she finished with shaking hands, the anxiety peaking.

Elric watched Levia closely as she spoke to the passengers. As usual, there was more going on here than met the eye.
Completely asside from the dried blood on her face and in her hair, she seemed deeply disturbed by something Elric couldn't pin down. The thought crossed his mind that there must be some reason she hadn't bothered to clean herself up during the flight. He filed it away for future reference as he turned his attention to what she was saying, and then to finding his place in the disembarking passengers.
