A plane was scheduled to arrive in Israel, a small turboprop plane carrying the ambassador of Australia. They would arrive shortly, the plane would begin its descent to the ground once they have recieved permission.

"Let's hope this goes well Spike." the ambassador said to his small grey kitten which purred on his lap and let out of a soft "Nyuu".
----

"This is AE953 requesting permission to land, we have the ambassador onboard." said the pilot, repeating it twice to make sure it got through.

"Permission granted, welcome to the new and free nation of Israel. The Prime Minister is awaiting your arrival."

An aide approaced the Prime Minister.

"Sir, the ambassador of Australia is on his way here."

"Excellent. Doesn't it feel good to have peace?"

The old ambassador smiled and nodded, "Its been quite some time since I last set foot on European soil. Where will be meeting the Prime Minister, Mr--?" he said.

OCC: This is what Aramaki looks like.

OOC: Israel is not in Europe, btw. It's in the Middle East, Near East, or Asia. (All are correct, but NE is more the sixties name and Asia encompasses all of...Asia)

Some Israeli (ambassadors/soldiers/secret servicemen) government workers met the ambassador at the airport:

"Europe? This is the middle east!

Anyway, you will be meeting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert here in Tel Aviv. We will drive you to the location now... just step into this taxi."

Aramaki laughed a little, "So it is true, the fabled 8th continent is really going to turn up as the middle east, in my days they taught us only Europe, Asia, Africa, the Americas and Oceania."

Aramaki smirked and pulled out a map:

Aramaki laughed and pulled it away quickly, he was being strangely informal, but apparently they weren't amused so he became very serious.

Why'd I ever sign up for this job...this is going to be incredibly boring, not even the young guys have a sense of humor or act human, so touchy now-a-days...

OOC: LOL I just realized this map actually has Israel in Africa! Haha...biking one to. That is weird! (Sorry for the bad jokes lol)

The car drove for a few minutes and stopped in front of a building that looked nothing more than a domestic house. It was certianly out of the way.

"In here sir..." The ambassador pointed the Australian ambassador to the door of the establishment.
Asbena

Aramaki got out of the car and walked up to the building. Checking out the place.

"No greeting personally? Wow what has them scared..."
Geneticon
22-02-2006, 02:41
Ehud stood as the men walked into the building.

"Welcome, ambassador. Sorry about all the security, but we live in dangerous times, please take a seat and let's get down to business. What shall we discuss first?"

Olmert sat in an easy chair and awaited a response.

"What is Israel trying to accomplish.. I have heard rumors of a plan to sell weapons to potentional enemies. Is this true?"
Geneticon
22-02-2006, 02:57
"Where did you hear this sir? We are currently not selling any weapons to anybody..."
Asbena
22-02-2006, 03:04
Aramaki smirked, "Disregard the matter then, do you want to discuss trade for our nations?"
Geneticon
22-02-2006, 03:09
"We would be willing to trade... what would you offer? What do you want, and what will you give.

On another note, would you be willing to agree to a mutual protection pact?"
Asbena
22-02-2006, 03:11
"Of course we'll be willing to sign, but why don't we open up a no import/export tariff on each nations goods as well?" said Aramaki with a slight tone of an underlying motive.
Geneticon
22-02-2006, 03:17
"I'm not so sure about getting rid of tariffs between our nations, Israel relies on them as a signifigant source of funding."
Asbena
22-02-2006, 03:30
"Perhaps lowering the tariffs would result in both of our nations improving and profitting from extra trade, it would spark a closer tie between our people. Do you agree Prime Minister?"
Geneticon
22-02-2006, 03:31
"We will agree to lower them, but not to totally dissolve them. We trust that is a reasonable compromise."
Asbena
22-02-2006, 03:35
"Agreed, and now about this pact, what does it do?"
Geneticon
22-02-2006, 03:37
"It states that if you are attacked by another nation, Israel will come to your aid. In the same way, Australia will come to the aid of Israel if we are attacked."
Asbena
22-02-2006, 04:16
"Agreed, you have our support! Is there anything else you wish to ask?"
Geneticon
22-02-2006, 13:52
"Our final request is that you will not attack the UAE..."
Asbena
22-02-2006, 23:13
"And what is this UAE?"

[ooc: not to intrude on this conversation, but you guys have a nice one line dialogue...what about a speech sometime?]
Asbena
22-02-2006, 23:45
OOC: Ya, sadly this is how conversations go. Aramaki is going to get upset.....no matter what he says I think, and will get ugly, cause 'no attacking such and such' is rude enough to say to an ambassador. Just waiting for Israel's non-confrontational Prime Minister to set off my ambassador with the wrong choice of words.

It WILL get better, and thanks for reading thus far. (If you want short lines to...check White Tower....least they interact more sometimes.)

23-02-2006, 13:57
OOC: Ok... I'll make it a little bit longer and throw some body movement in there to make it interesting...

IC:

"Forgive me for not making myself clear. Israel is a close ally with the United Arab Emirates (UAE)... and Israel would like to ask Australia the favor of not making any hostilities against them at any time."

Ehud Olmert shifted in his seat... this next phrase would be important, he would have to word it right.

"It would be an unsafe situation for Israel for the two countries that we have signed mutual protection pacts to fight each other, we would have to side with one, and that would mean breaking the agreement with the other.

We want to be fair in this, and we ask the favor that you do not put Israel in such a position that we may have to choose between Australia and the UAE, for we value our friendship with both nations.

We realize that in the times will live in, simple little things can set off chain reactions that lead to war (We, as Hebrews, ought to know). We are not implying that you would intentionally go to war with the UAE, but that you might be placed in a position where it would make logical sense to attack them. We ask you to make peace with the UAE."
Asbena
23-02-2006, 14:52
Aramaki looked at him in anger, "That is like asking us to not do anything if they are going to attack us or do anything to our nation. Covert Operations if were indeed discovered by the UAE would be dealt with above my own status as it is clearly an aggressive measure, which would lead to war. Signing such an agreement makes our right to protect our sovereign land absolutely useless and an illegal action under such a pact. Just as Germany did in the first quarter of the 20th century."

Aramaki was upset that his own nation would have to sign a non-aggression pact when the UAE controls a considerable amount of resources and would be in a bind if imports suddenly ceased, possibly bringing Australia to a feeble point on peace talks and end up caving in do to pressure.

"I can't sign such a pact at this time, our military power is the only thing to keep our imports coming, if UAE and the other nations ceased exporting oil to Australia then we'll be in trouble and in a very serious economic predictament, meaning the only option is to force it in a military strike. Though as long as things stay the way they are, there exists no need for such a pact."

Ehud's fist clenched... the man across from him was growing angry... I better just end this conference now.

"Again, I apoligize. Perhaps our proposal is useless.

Therefore, I will drop the line about the UAE, and just propose a mutual protection pact between your nation and mine."

We need help deep in here... if WW3 breaks out we're gonna need as many allies as we can get...
Asbena
24-02-2006, 00:36
Aramaki nodded, "I understand your thinking, and with the world the way it is now, a system of alliances is the type of thing we want to avoid at all costs. Such systems have a chain reaction to escalate into world conflict very rapidly."

Aramaki sighed, "That is what the sole reason of World War I if you could put a direct cause on it. Allies called on each other to fight a 'common' enemy and it wound up ending bitterly and so bitterly that it also spawned the second war."

Aramaki turned and looked away from him for a moment, "With the way your part of the world is now...I can't sign such a document. Do you understand me, Prime Minister?"
Geneticon
24-02-2006, 00:49
"I understand..."

Ehud stood.

"It has been nice speaking with you sir, my men will see to it you are properly put up for the night. We hope you enjoy your stay in Tel Aviv.

And sir, we trust that our decision to lower tariffs will boost economic growth in our countries. Good night."

Olmert shook the man's hand and walked out of the room.
Asbena
24-02-2006, 00:53
Before he left Aramaki said to him, "Just cause we didn't sign, doesn't mean we won't leave you high and dry. Involvement will be done at are discreation and chosing. How's that sound?"
Geneticon
24-02-2006, 00:56
"Acceptable... no hard feeling eh?"

Olmert smiled at the man and chuckled.
Asbena
24-02-2006, 00:59
"None. Thank you for seeing me on this matter, Prime Minister." said Aramaki as he bowed courteously, "Next time, come to Sydney. We have a wonderful Opera House that you might be interested in. I bet some of the managers of the businesses that the trade tariff lowerings will do will cause them to thank you personnally."
