::On television, a news camera focused in on a pretty little lady standing on a balcony looking out towards The Andes::
"This is Trisha Lagamo with Argentine Now. We have just recieved word that late last night, a pair of policemen from the town of Tecka were found dead at the base of the mountains. Evidence found with them includes a note from famed Chilean druglord Alberto Sanchez warns Argentine police to stay out of the affairs of his organization.
This is as bold a move as has ever been encountered by the drug-running organizations that base themselves along most of Argentina's borders.
President Kirchner has promised stern action in return."

Reply to Israel,
"We are currently looking into a modernization of our military forces. As it stands, we do not require aid in training. We are however, in need of paramilitary equipment with which to supply our soldiers and police with the ability to fight back against well-armed crime organizations."

Official Statement
As it stands, Argentina will participate in no arms deal with Norway until they back down from their current aggressive war-mongering.
Also, to Israel we would like to purchase some of your upgraded M60-Sabra version tanks. We will enquire soon.
The Republic of France sends its greetings to the Republic of Argentina, and we wish them many years ahead of peaceful cooperation with our peoples.
We also encourage you to join the ALN, which is headed by the USA.
SECRET IC: The CIS is expanding its territories beyond the borders of the Former USSR. We need solidarity on the behalf of all nations to stop this expansion, as it is detrimental to the people of the world.

Russia extends to Argentina an invitation to join the Commonwealth of Independent States. As part of joining, trade barriers are reduced, mutual protection is guaranteed, and you will be protected from Western Imperialism. Also, we may sell you production rights for some of your requests should you join the CIS.
OOC: All this Alliancing seems like WW1.

Being an ocean away from both France and Russia, it would be unproductive to join military or organizational alliance groups. Argentina appreciates both offers, but it is currently just not feasible.

Taiwan
Argentina will be making inqueries to Taiwan for the purchase of 1,500 M60A3-CM12 tanks
South Africa
Inqueries to South Africa for the purchase of 240 Rooivalk CSH-2 helicopters
To Argentina:
We are willing to consider the sale of 12 Layette Frigates. We would also encourage Argentina take a more pro-active role in the cessation of hostilities between Brazil and Venezuela. It is almost likely that these aggressive acts may transpire into a South American war [ooc: which Russia might seize upon as an opportunity]. Our garrison in French Guyana will attempt to moderate the action, although we are painfully away from that part of the world that we feel that we would not make much an impact on the actual schematics of the war there.
[There is also a UNSC resolution on the floor to condemn and authorize economic sanctions on the two powers...if you are on the UNSC, please support this]

As it stands currently, the Argentine military is woefully short of the capabilities to enforce a ceasefire. Which is why we have gone to the French government about the purchase of war machines. We are hoping that you accept our bid for the ships, due to the fact that there is war breaking loose in South America, and in order to put an end to it, we greatly require such ships.

In which case, we will gladly provide the ships, at a reasonable price for them all.

We stated originally, our bid was 1.6 billion dollars.
OOC: France wouldn't profit much on that price. Just a couple million dollars per ship. But it's still a profit, Argentina doesn't have a lot of cash to just throw around.

[ooc] quite honestly, I don't care how much the price is...as long as it's reasonable...besides, you can expect that France would be offering these at a discount to developing militaries for the benefit of insuring peace around the world :)]
The Republic of France would like to notify your government that we have officially dropped our support for the G4 nations [specifically for Brazil], in the hopes that Argentina would be willing to fill the place in the G4.

Argentina has placed an order with Fairchild Republic Co. to purchase a number of A-10 Thunder Bolt II (Warthog) aircraft. The number is initially 70, with an additional 120 over the next two years. The contract will be for $1.8 billion USD.
Further, Argentina will contract Grumman Co. for 112 F-14 Tomcats. (An estimated 44 were built, but never purchased by the US Navy due to the new F/A-18) for a total of $2.23 billion USD.
As part of a standing contract for M113A3 and M113A2 APCs, Argentina will place another order for an additional 400 of each type, a deal worth around $40 million USD.
With the Ukraine, Argentina will be negotiating the upgrading of Argentina's 36 MiG-29s to MiG-29 SMTs.

OOC: Just for the record
OOC: I believe Argentina uses a French rifle for its military. I couldn't find out exactly which one, meh so I had them adopt the Daewoo series. It kicks some butt.
Argentina primarily uses the FN FAL (it's actually Belgian, not French). They developed and produced their own rifle in the '80s (the FARA 83), but it was not produced in sufficient numbers to replace the FAL due to financial difficulties.
And I'm curious as to how Argentina can afford to maintain all of this equipment and the men needed to operate and support it, let alone purchase so much more. The increase from a relatively poorly equipped military of only 73,000 to a massive 350,000 man (at least) force with top-of-the-line equipment in abundance in such a short time is a bit beyond belief.
I had some issues with Australian numbers, but these are more than a bit extreme themselves.
