Coast of Sardinia

The Neopolitian navy had recently come close to shore about fourty miles north of Caligiari. As the small rowboats brought all the men ashore the navy began to move away and towards Caligiari.

In total the entire force was 26,000 men strong includeing ten Dragoon Regiments, ten Musket Regiments, one Rifle Regiment, five Artillery Regiments. these men were the force that would begin Italian Unification and the force that would lead to the eventual creation of a Unified Italian Kingdom.

Cardinal Ruffo was at the head of this force and he had proven himself in takeing back Naples for Ferdinand. he sat atop his horse at the head of the army. "My friends, you are in Sardinia now. A land of hostility but a land that is rightfully ours! We shall unfiy Italy for now and forever! Now march onward towards Caligiari and victory."

With that the troops moved on to Caligiari and certain victory.

King Victor in shocked with the news of an enemy army that landed south of the capital. He immediatly called up an un-trained militia of 10,000 men, and depolyed his royal guard to try to train the militia as quickly as possible. He delivered a speech to his men, in the hopes of inspiring them. He called the Neopalitans "Beasts" and "a disgrace to the Italian race". He also proclaimed that the United kingdom of Italy will never be led by the Neopalitians, and that all Sardinians do everything in there power to slow down the advancing Neopalitian army. His speech seemed to have some moderate effects, as 5,000 more men signed up for the militia.

He immediatly called back 8 regiments from Tunis and 5 from Cyprus (26,000 infatry, 5,200 cavalry and 130 cannon) and ordered them to land on the southern coast of Sardinia, escorted by almost the entire Sardinian fleet. They would arrive together on the 29 of October.

King Victor also quickly sends a message to Spain, begging for reinforcements to help defeat the Neopolitian army and navy.

OOC: There will be a Spanish response to this. However, I'll need to know where I stand on the date of the invasion before I can really react.
