Reports are coming in of grass roots industrial strike action taking place in the Pacific nation of Waimakariri. Over the weekend, police were kept busy by running battles with rioters in the capital of the nation, Rangiora. At night a tense atmosphere hangs over the city as night curfew are reluctantly impose and all international flights from the country strictly controled by the military and the security services.
