Pacitalia's most prolific former prime minister and his accomplished wife are celebrating in a suburban Mandragora hospital Saturday evening after the former Feminena Premera experienced a reportedly complication-free eight hour labour en route to delivering a healthy, happy baby girl, the couple's first. The new bundle of joy was brought into the world at 8.56pm CPDT.
The former prime minister had publicly announced his wife's pregnancy back in late May, and waited until November to subsequently tender his resignation as prime minister to assume "less political and more fatherly duties". He did not run for re-election as a normal MPP, but his seat was still swept by the governing FPD.
Doctors report the baby is "very healthy, very happy and is doing well with her mother".
A spokeswoman for the couple says the two are "more than ecstatic".
"They are just beaming right now," Aldona Sancrabassa told reporters. "It is a very special time for them; a new experience. They are extremely proud to be parents of a beautiful baby girl."
An official statement has not been released on behalf of the couple but unconfirmed but credible reports suggest that Dr Ell and Sgra Williams-Cazunobari have named the 3¾-kg girl Fiorenza Vittoria Anda Serenissima Abrodera Rosa Cazunobari. Reports that Dr Ell has been colloquially referring to her as Fiorenza Rosa were the only thing that could be confirmed.
The new arrival also marks the addition of a third member to the Royal House of Pyotr-Hampton, after Princess Anne and the new arrival's 38-year-old father. There had recently been concerns over the dwindling numbers in the house that contributes directly to the position of Hamptonshire's Grand Duke or Duchess, compounded after the death of Reginald Leopold I. But with a new, third member and possibly more on the way, those fears seem to be allayed, at least for now.
There were no comments from the government, or from the House of Pyotr-Hampton, at the time of publication.
