Ranking the Best Storefronts

I am wondering how everybody who either uses, maintains, or has knowledge of the storefronts on NS, would rank them (both MT and FT ones).

It can be based on layout, service, products, knowledge, the person running it, etc.

Just post a list with ranks of the different storefronts (I will make a master list later).

Ex (fake names):

1) The Imperial Guard Store
2) The Corporate Defense
3) Standland's Military Industries
4) Lightspeed and Lasers Inc.
etc.

Here are some mentioned storefronts for inspiration:

Pudite Arms
Kriegzimmer
DMG Military Industries
Portland Iron Works
Layarteb
Cotland's Laksevag Naval Shipyards
Military Armaments Company, Inc.
Praetonian Shipyards
Tokera Storefront
Freethinker Defense Industries
Royal Shipyards of Isselmere Nieland
Detmerian Aerospace, Plc
Isselmere Motor Works
MierTech

Pudite Arms is my favorite. I don't use anyone else except on rare occasions. (*cough* nukes *cough*)

OOC: Kriegzimmer, DMGMA, and PIW are some of the best, in my opinion.

Maybe you should make a poll. Shall I?

Layarteb has the best one in my opinion, but Cotland's Laksevag Naval Shipyards is nice as well.

Half of my early military came from Kriegzimmer and DMG, so those are my favorites.

I hate to show off, but I believe that my storefront, Military Armaments Company, Inc. is quite a good storefront. I maintain the storefront. Check it out if you wish. Thank You.

DMG is probably the best iv seen, although could put some more things to buy ie: some European naval vessels and some replenishment ships in the navy section of the storefront.

I will make a poll for the best storefront when I get a lot of options. First, however, I would like people to actually rank them... 1), 2), 3), etc... [Not just say, "I like this one... and this one is pretty good to."

you could add my old storefront to the list, it hasent been updated yet, and needs much improving, but i will be coming out with a new version soon. Let me know what you think of it. Here is a link to The Tokera Storefront http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=7423612#post7423612 . But I think that Praetonian Shipyards and DMG Military Industries are the best.

1) Kriegzimmer
2) The Freethinkers' storefront (forgot its name >,<)
3) PIW
4) DMG
5) Isselmere-Nieland's storefront (once again the name is a blank)

I haven't visited too many others, but PRA, IPS, and Roman Republic are also apparently pretty good... then of course there's the one I'm planning to start this summer for my aircraft when I actually have the time to design something. ;)

OOC: Czar, The Freethinkers' storefront is called "Freethinker Defense Industries" (FDI). I agree, it's a damn fine place to buy from. And which of Isselmere's storefront are you refering to? If it's his naval storefront, it's called "Royal Shipyards of Isselmere Nieland". But his aircraft company (Detmerian Aerospace, Plc) and his land warfare company (Isselmere Motor Works) are also quite good. Phoenixius' storrefront (MierTech) is good, but he's been inactive as of late, so not many people have been buying from him...

Oh, and the reason I didn't mention The Macabees', Sarzonia's and DMG's companies is because they've been mentioned already, no point in repeating!

Guys, please give rankings and not just "So and so is Awesome!"

I am trying to compose a Top [fill in the number] list of storefronts, so if you could rank the ones on the frontpage as well as others you might know of... that would be great).

Note: If you have no knowledge of a storefront that is listed, simply don't list it or check it out and then add it.

Not ranking my own storefront, which I consider bad form, and using the most well-known storefront to talk about all of a player's entries:

1. Royal Shipyards of Isselmere-Nieland. While Freethinkers Defence Industries may be known for the Doujin, the RSIN makes its mark with consistently excellent designs, a highly professional layout and organisation, and reliable customer service. All the designs are thoroughly researched, be they naval ships, main battle tanks, or Mach 3 aircraft. The RSIN was one of the main inspirations behind my founding the Portland Iron Works.

2. Imperial Praetonian Shipyards. The other primary inspiration behind the Portland Iron Works, this storefront makes its fame on Trimaran-hulled warships while the RSIN is best known for monohulls. This is another storefront where the hard work in developing designs is clearly demonstrated throughout the store. I joke that if the RSIN and IPS had a bastard child, it would be the Portland Iron Works.

3. Freethinker Defence Industries. Why is one of the co-designers of the Doujin ranked behind RSIN and IPS? Just my squalid opinion. FDI designs aren't for the navy with a limited budget and the Doujin itself is no longer for sale. However, each design shows impeccable attention to detail that has seemingly become par for the course with the best storefronts on NationStates.

4. Soviet Bloc's storefronts. I drew a blank for a while when I was thinking of ground combat storefronts until I suddenly remembered Soviet Bloc's. In addition to his aircraft, his ground combatants have been the standard that nations have had to compete against and anyone who seeks to compete is going to have to devote a lot of time to the task.

Those are just some of the stores that I think are particularly excellent. In the case of RSIN, I also include Detmerian Aerospace and Isselmere Motor Works in my assessment. With Praetonia's storefronts, I include the fact that his very first aircraft was a strike fighter that was on par with Soviet Bloc's air superiority fighter. Until Praetonia rolled out the L-82 Hussar, I was going to be content with my lone interceptor (that Doomingsland designed for me) as my "ultra modern" craft. When Prae put out the Hussar, I was back at work designing my own next generation of aircraft.

For (hopefully) obvious reasons, The Nine Military Storefront (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=385183) is my favorite.
but really I like Portland Ironworks and some of Infoclypse Industries stuff (notably the Nuclear Bank and the One Stop Gene shop) are unique if nothing else.

Since this is asking the 'best' storefronts, note that my rankings not only are based on products themselves, but the quality of the storefront as well. Quality of products is considered, but that isn't, and shouldn't, be the only thing in such comparison. It is not a easy task in ranking them, but...

1. Isselmere's storefronts - probably one of the most comprehensive storefronts in NS, featuring a wide array of products, excellent service, a very readable front page, and a very accessible organization.

2. Clan Smoke Jaguar's storefronts (CSJ Military Industries) - packages, individual products, you name it. The highlights are the quantity (and quality) of the products offered, high level of service, and most importantly - ease of use and simplicity.

3. Imperial Praetonian Shipyards - I know that it is primarily a naval storefront with some other types of prodcuts, but the overall layout and the quality of products makes it one worthy of noting. Overall level of service from what I see is quite high, as is the ease of use.

4. Macabee's storefront / Kriegzimmer - A lot of traffic, which is a testimony to the quality of its products as well as the level of services provided. Certainly a very active one as well.

5. Sarzonia's storefront / Portland Iron Works - Overall a nice and comprehensive storefront with a variety of products as well as fairly easy to use and access.

Very honourable mentions also goes to Freethinker Defence Industries (superb ease of accessibility, best ships in NS), Soviet Bloc's storefront at IM (superb products), and Juumanistra's Wellington International Defense Solutions.

Yep, the rankings are supposed to be on anything and everything.

It is not a easy task in ranking them, but...

I thank you for putting in your 2 cents (and more importantly actually ranking them which so many others have not).

The Beltway

Of those I've bought from or operate:

1) DMG - Excellent selection and good packages
2) Sarzonia - Good, but a bit too expensive for The Beltway to buy from, for the most part
3) Wellington Aviation - Juumanistra's aircraft sales thread is limited (obviously) to airplanes, but is rather good
4) Roman Republican Storefront - Good packages and good selection
5) Laksevag - Good selection
6) Pudu - Nice packages; a bit too few original designs for my taste
7) UDI - Good selection; no original designs
8) Baltimore Shipyards - Limited to naval and small arms; only original ship designs, decent packages. However, no subs, auxiliaries, or original small arms.
9) MoCoAutSys - Broad yet limited selection; no packages
10) Lockheed - Moderately varied selection and no packages; however, some unique designs
11) Martin - Small, limited selection, no packages; however, some unique designs

I rank in terms of quality of the arms, and so in no particular order I would say:

OMASC [Omz222]
Detmerian Aerospace [Isselmere]
Isselmere Motor Works Storefront [Isselmere]
Portland Iron Works [more the naval department; Sarzonia]

There are others that I've left out, but they don't come to mind right now.
