Asbena Militarization
The small nation of Asbena recently began a rapid militarization program. The People's Underground Movement, PUM, was the sole force of the government to protect the nation. Arising from foriegn threats and pushing the Asbenian government has opted for a program to centralize the military.

Construction of the Wethersburg Base: 3 months
A small base of 500 troops, a mainly training facility that will be located around five miles from the mine. It will be a 5 acre facility with training in archery, guns, vehicles, and physical challenges. It will teach the common Asbenian citizen to perform in the military, aka boot camp.
Constuction of the Frankesse Base: 8 months
A rather large facility that will have 25,000 active troops. This is the largest military base in Asbena. The base encompasses three towns and an extremely large field. It covers over 1000 acres and has a variety of training and excerise locations. Cost is rumored to be $50,000,000.

OOC: This is more of a single IC thread for refrences. The Asbena Bazaar is places for international business.
IC: The Wethersburg and Frankesse military bases have been completed! The Wethersburg facility was ahead of schedule, while the Frankesse military base fell 2 months behind schedule before being completed.
The bases are made out of stone and clay. Although low-tech they were produced extremely cheaply and now Asbena has an offical military!
Bases in Loir and Fien and Altropos are going to be built this year.
Lior's base is going to be a massive airfield that has been scheduled to be the militaries prime air base. It will be over 12 miles long and 40 miles wide in total. The area has been cleared for it. However it will be at least 5 years before it is completed.
Fien's base is going to be a communications outpost, of maybe 30 personnel working at a massive communication hub, of 3 acres or more outside of the town of Fien. Estimated cost is $2,750,000.
Altropos is a secret base which will be a test ground for the Asbenian militaries secret weapons. As far as other nations are concerned...this place does not exist. The facility is going to be built 90% underground, and a fake town will be built above it to hide its true meaning. Estimated price is $1,700,000,000. It will be completed in around 10 years.
Asbena purchased 6000 Piper Tomahawks for their air force. Recently the first part of the completed airfield allows these airplanes suitable housing and protection. The air planes cost only $90 million so over 18,000 pilots are being trained on the Piper Tomahawks.
The Piper Tomahawks have already been upgraded with light gatling guns and a hell-fire rocket pod, making them heavier then anticipated, but still good planes that are capable of defending the homeland.
The Asbena Airfield is completed ahead of schedule! The enlarged population allowed extra workers and reduces to the workers rights allowed cheaper work.
Asbena is currently in the process of buying another 60000 Piper planes for their air armada. Though the current cost is $900 million for all these planes. The planes will be shipped to various airfields that are being quickly and cheaply produced across Asbena.
Asbena is producing over 300 small airfields to hold 2-3 squadrons each.

Asbena is researching tanks for their first offical tank to be produced. No offical word is given on what model they are wanting to produce.
The bases have been completed and pictures of the planes have been released to the international community, though none with the weapons.

In a bold move the Asbena Air Force is purchasing 100 F/A-22's for their use. These planes are the top of the line American tech and will be put to great use. They expect 2 to arrive each month until all 100 are delivered.

In another bold move of following American technology the army has ordered 4000 M1A2 Abrams tanks. With a rather large price the military is hoping to change the Militia's numbers and power over high-tech and accurate unit distribution.

Though in other news the People's Militia has resurrected a program for blimps to be used as weapons and eyes in the sky. The swarm of blimps is also a show of Asbena's belief in flight as a way of life. Asbena is currently relying heavily on air transport for trade and it appears as if the military (with no threat of a naval attack or waters to defend) is able to focus better on the only 'true' way into Asbena...from the air!

Asbena Military upgrades weaponry.
For a long time, the Asbena military has never needed to upgrade the pistols or misc. rifles that troops carried, until now. Asbena purchased the failed OICW for their troops. Although heavier then what the American's wanted, this is hardly a price to pay for top-notch weaponry.

The construction of nuclear missiles are expected to be completed in just five short NS years.
The nuclear program is expected to be completed in 4 NS years. Construction of weapon delivery systems have recieved a total of $2 billion for the research, production, and construction of a working ICBM.

Asbena's massive airship fleet is soon to be retired and sent for exclusive civilian use, as the ships are out of date and are starting to faulter in their age.
The nuclear program is completed and the first nuclear power plant is operation in the Blue Military Base!
