A message of hope

Dracosylpholis

I am the high protector of the Protectorate of Dracosylpholis, elected by the people into the council and designated as chancellor and diplomat in international incidents. I come to the leaders of the world today with a message, one of hope and perhaps even with a crazy dream.

It has been a long time since I desired a voice for the people. As we all know, the world is plagued by war, disease, famine and death. Neighbouring countries fear each other and arm accordingly, wishing to push away the invaders. Sometimes, leaders attack countries to gain territory and ressources, and power. The quest for power is unending, the tyrans many.

I come to you with more then a message: it is a plea from the people to stop the insanity. Dracosylpholis is still a small and humble country, but a fair one with leaders who wish only the best for their people. But my desire for peace does not limit to my country, it is for all the world to unite and make something good of the world, together. Let us stop making weapons and instead build schools and let our children be able to live without fear.

Some of us have been chosen by the people to guide them, in hopes that we can help them have less issues to deal with. Others have taken the power by brute force. None of us can change the past, but we can prepare a better future, for the people.

I hope my voice will be heard and bow low before the leaders of the world.

"What's this? A nation actually wants to work for peace? Someone's played a joke on me, right?" Prime Minister Timothy Kaine said, the incredulity clearly visible on his face, after seeing the dispatch from Dracosylpholis.

"It appears to be real. I've never known anyone to play jokes on people; that's what the rest of the world is for," Kostas Alexakis, Deputy Foreign Minister of The Beltway. Mark Warner, the usual Foreign Minister, was out fundraising again; how much funds did one need, anyway?

"Well, I suppose we should do something about it, then..." Kaine replied.

Whereas, many nations have chosen warfare instead of diplomacy,

Whereas, the Protectorate of Dracosylpholis has bucked this trend and instead chosen to commit itself to peace,

And whereas, peace is immensely better than war for a myriad of reasons that the Protectorate of Dracosylpholis clearly understands,

The Beltway congratulates the Protectorate of Dracosylpholis for its decision to commit itself to peace.

Signed,
Prime Minister Timothy Kaine of The Beltway

Nice to see you join us on II! I'd advise that you set up a Foreign Ministry page to organize contact with the rest of the NS world, and create a factbook to introduce us to your nation and its history; still, nice first post!

A Necropriest sent a lette back written in bloodink.

Peace.... Such things are heresy in the lives of the Necromonger. I hope that you see the error in your ways. As the Grand Marshell said
" Peace is only resting time between glorious battles, that decide the fate of many. For the Underverse sees peace as a vile thing that must never be used unless rest is needed for battle to continue. Peace is the light that see to destroy the Underverse" , this is from the Great book of the Necron. For many Glorious years we Necromonger have waged war with others to bring glory to the Underverse and to our Grand Marshell. I do hope you convert to our ways and live a true life.

While it is a nice thought thought, it is a wholly unrealistic one. West Corinthia knows the only way to maintain peace is through strength of arms, and even then peace inevitably leads back into war. It is human nature to desire war and we see no need to force our people to go against their very natures. We've purposely diverted funds from things like education and welfare to go rather into our defence budget. Through this method we have maintained a short period of peace, though we were brought back into war by one of our neighbors. You see, to have peace you would need global disarmament or else all nations seeking peace will become colonies of some war-mongering nation. Global disarmament will never happen, because we would die before turning our backs on our weapons. And we would not live in a world where you could not invade a pesky neighbor to "liberate" their people. All true West Corinthians love the sting of battle, and we always shall.

"Sire, don't you think you rambled on for a bit in that message?"
"As long as he gets the point. Let's get Mexican food tonight." the Czar replied.

We hear your message. Unfortunately, in this world we must prepare for peace through armed preparedness. Remember preparedness is peace...

Leader of the Allied States of West Corintha, the council of the Protectorate of Dracosylpholis salute you. We have heeded your words and today come to you with a new message.

The land of Dracosylpholis is not one without arms. We wish no harm to anyone, yet realise the importance of being able to depend our own people. We agree with you that sometimes a fight is necessary to set things straight. Fighting should never be the first answer however, only after exhausting other venues should it be undertaken.

You call bloodlust an instinct in mankind and though I wish I could oppose the thought, I can sadly not. But this instinct is not natural, it is one which has been built in us during many millenia of evolution.

The Dracosylpholians understand that fighting the urge is hard, but soul cleansing, peace bringing and happiness giving. It is this peace that we wish to share with the world, to end the pointless hassle of domination and instead live in equity.

Your people seem to use war because they do not know any other way. Teach them and they will learn, and in turn they will teach as well.

The people of the Protectorate of Dracosylpholis which I represent salute you very low. We hope that despite our differences, peace will be possible because us and the Allied States of West Corinthia.

The Blood lust of mankind is brought by the quiete calls of the Underverse. Calling for everyone to follow. You preach peace, but peace will never come. Many live the life of a Necromonger but never profess the name of the Grand marshell or even give in fully to the Underverses power. the world is confused and cold. Which is why we should kill those who see peace as an alternitve and show them that true peace is in death and in death is true life.
