A Question of Balance OOC Thread

This is the OOC thread for "A Question of Balance"

Now; this RP is meant to show the beginning of my nations gradual move away from viewing Chaos simply as 40k; and viewing it more thematically and theologically as Moorcock's Chaos.

Remiel is going to form allies, loyal to him and to Chaos; and using them, lead a vast war against the forces of Law, in order to shift and eventually destroy the Cosmic Balance.

As such, recruitment on both sides is needed; you should probably state which side you wish to join, as well as giving any ideas or asking any questions, here.

I'll take a side on the forces of Law.

I assume this is nation-wide deal? Not just singular charachters? Or am I wrong?
Nikedo

I believe we shall join on the side of chaos.

Well...It will of course be nationwide in terms of war, etc; but it would be good for you to have a central character(s), like I have Remiel.

All right; that makes things a bit easier.

I will join in on the side of both Law and Chaos, as soon as my civil war happens and ends. Law will be my main nation, Chaos will be the dark side of my nation.

I think it's pretty darn obvious who's side I'll be on Chron.

You should know my characters well enough to guess.

This is interesting, though I'm not sure how I can be a part of this, since I just started a thread that indicates the Ascendancy is entering a pacifist period after near a half century of war.

Even my guys need a real break for awhile. =^^=

Ok Chron. I have a basic Rp entry ready to go, but I need to be clear of a few things:

Now; this RP is meant to show the beginning of my nations gradual move away from viewing Chaos simply as 40k; and viewing it more thematically and theologically as Moorcock's Chaos.

Exactly what is Moorcock's Chaos? I'm not very Chaos savy since I'm a Necron and Space Marine player myself when it comes to 40k(the tabletop that is). I think I have an idea what Moorcock Chaos is, but I'd rather be clear on this before I actually respond. Maybe the side I choose isn't so obvious after all.
Mini Miehm

GO NECRONS! WHEE!!!!*runs around screaming*

Anywho... I'll probably show up, kill some stuff, and wander off again.

Michael Moorcock wrote the Eternal Champion series, including notably Elric of Melnibone. In his works there are Lords of Chaos and the White Lords of Law; as well as the Grey Lords, agents of Balance. The Cosmic Balance is all important, ensuring that neither Chaos nor Law dominates too fully. Moorcock's view of Chaos inspired WH and WH40k's versions of it.

Ok. So is your government moving toward a more White Lords of Law, or are they more of the Grey Lords?

Considering of how extreme the Lords of Chaos are, I'm probably going to aid the newer gov. Even the Kirtir believe in law and order.
Pananab
18-02-2006, 03:47
I'm interested, but Pananab won't get involved unless they're brought in. Pananab is too chaotic to join on Law. If anyone can think of an excuse for me to get involved, I'll take it.

Expect Khurgan to jump in in order to fufill some vision from Tzeentch or some such. And I can't say that Tzeentch wouldn't like to see everything go to shit because some jackass messed with the balance. Sounds very Tzeentchy...

Of course, whoever wins, I come out ahead.

Pananab: I can always mind control some high government official or some such, if you really want.
Pananab
18-02-2006, 03:58
Pananab has enough powerful psychics of its own to detect mind-control. Besides, if there was something in it for Stowes, he'd do anything.

Nope; we fully intend to follow and obey the Lords of Chaos.

Nope; we fully intend to follow and obey the Lords of Chaos.

I thought your government is switching to the Forces of Law or to the Grey Lords. Or are those just rebel factions?
Nikedo

I'll only be able to notice this after there has been a noticeable effect, so if it doesn't bother you, please inform me when that occurs.
Chronosia
18-02-2006, 05:30
Nope; switching from 40k Chaos, to a more Moorcockian view of Chaos; as I stated. Pfft. The entire narrative is about Remiel being prepared to do Chaos' work upon this plane...Honestly...

I guess I'll be supporting the Moorcockian chaos then. At least they believe in balance and order.

So when does it begin?
Psyker Bearzerkers

I love the epic stuff. Ill be with the forces a chaos doing the traitor thing, thats the best en mi opiÑon. there is no chaos like undiluted chaos.
Ald Rhun
20-02-2006, 23:31
I might have to jump in with Ald Rhun (under new management). We were using Moorcockian Chaos before you, after all. Tis only right we lend a hand.

Oh, and I'll have advanced my plot-line a bit. Temporarily skipping some RPs, I'll come back to fill them in later.

I dunno, might be interested in joining...

Are we still planning this in the OOC?

28-02-2006, 01:44
Hey, Chron, has this started or has it died?
Psyker Bearzerkers
28-02-2006, 02:55
Ive already posted twice, im pretty sure its dead unless chron and everyone else are in a coma cuase they were all in the same bus, in which case it will start at a later date...

Well ive already posted my set up as a supporter of chaos then...
Emperor Palpatine II
03-03-2006, 09:32
I am rp'ing as an old pupil of the Emperor Palpatine who commands a forgotten sector that was once within the fold of the Galactic Empire before its fall. He senses this great change in Remiel, and decides that it could (no pun intended) Unballance everything. Darth Polarus is his name. Since he will be opposing Remiel...I guess that makes him a force of Law.
Tannelorn
03-03-2006, 12:05
Well, Tannelorn is a very...law..nation. And with the recent aquisition of outsystem territory, it may be likely that they would come to grips with chaos. However in truly imperial fashion..we really wouldnt understand what you were at first.I wouldnt know chaos was bad..exactly..till i saw what you looked like. That would be unsportsman like.

Generally if there is a place for me in an rp that i find interesting, i hope that i can find some reason to join. Chronosia saw the cluster thread which quite a few people were participating in, and since i am really using that to further parts of my own story line, and move away from mars, I can say with certainty i am in.

Now whether or not its appropriate, or you'll have me is up to you guys to decide. However with pananab and Tannelorn about to duke it out in the Cluster..i do believe we are involved already.
Psyker Bearzerkers
07-03-2006, 19:42
would ramiel be of the chaos space marine persuasion?
Chronosia
07-03-2006, 20:12
It's REMIEL.

And more of the Chaos Space Marine Primarch persuasion
Tannelorn
09-03-2006, 07:52
Well ok if we are going to do this, the cluster is a good place to Start. Mini miehm just opened a warp storm, like the eye of terror, or more appropriately the Maelstrom. That and Pananab has shown interest, as have I. We are all in the cluster. So are many other nations. Since their already is a war thread, Chron i think you guys have a good place to start. ;)
Chronosia

Perhaps we do :) Perhaps we do...
Tannelorn
12-03-2006, 14:31
Well any time now would be good, however i will have work in for a few days, so much less posts, grave yard. However the battles are really just beginning in the Cluster, the first majour engagement is being fought, and its Pananab so one of the people who wanted to participate.

All i am going to say is this cluster thingy is getting noticed by alot of people.
