The Hyr Book of Ages-
Long ago, the two hyren tribes lived seperate lives. Two nations divided by the great andes, divided further by time. In the western woodlands the Naroomese lived peaceful, happy lives. They nurtured and worshiped nature, hunting only from necessity and farming only meadows and valleys. To them the forest was sacred and their cities and towns developed inside them. In the eastern wildlands and steppes, the hardy Kybarites made their living from the harsh land. They became experienced smiths using the rock and metal around them to improve their lives, and mastered living off the land. Their towns were small and near lakes or plains where food was secure. They hunted Guanaco in the foothills and Rhea on the steppes. They learned to build boats and catch whales for oil to fuel fires for warmth.
As the Naroomese flurished in their woodland paradise, the Kybarites eventually grew further west up into the andes that separated them. The first encounter between the tribes would lock the future of both tribes for centuries. The Kybarites, now masters at survival, saw the abundance of the Naroomese. They grew jealous but not at home in the forest, they began conducting hit and run raids on the higher elevation towns of Naroom. Naroom responded by raising and training up defense forces along their eastern extent. Now facing greater opposition to their raids, Kybar drew greater forces for the raids. The result was a locked stalemate for over one hundred years. During this time the peaceful Naroomese developed themselves as skilled warriors and archers, and the Kybarites built large population centeres in the mountains with vast road networks.
Long after the conflict began it continued only under the flag of habit and passed on hatred. Until one day after almost two hundred years of fighting the Kings of both tribes, young and tired of the fighting, met to work toward peace between them. During the meeting the Kings realized how similar their two people were despite the obvious differences. They spent much time together and soon became friends. Together they united their peoples to put the hatred and fighting behind them, and later created the hyren nation known today as Hyr.
It took many years for the hatred and suspicion to fade, but it did. Ruled together by the Twin Thrones of Hyr, the hyren of patagonia grew strong and proud. Each used their strengths to aid their brothers' weaknesses. Many generations later as a sign of the strength of their bond, together Naroomese and Kybarites built the mountain city of Eyrie. Eyrie sits in the middle of the vast and elaborate mountain road between the Naroomese capital of Vash Naroom, and the Kybarite capital of Kybar's Fang. In Eyrie both Naroomish and Kybarite live together in peace and cooperation, and all who travel from one side to the other pass through that city and are reminded that they are really not that different after all.
