Lord Fstemai began to wave to the jeering crowds as he passed, he even took out a bag full of small gold nuggets and began tossing it to different peoples in the crowd. Then he said to Xavier, while doing this,” Emperor Xavier, my friend your nation’s people suit your rule. As they are good, honest, and noble people that are loyal to your, due to what you are to them. Yet, as well your city is a grand and fabulous place even worthy to my emperor.

Your people shall today be rewarded by the quality of the games that shall be held toady at the coliseum and as by the friendship that shall soon grow between our two great peoples.”

Emperor Xavier seemed pleased with the diplomats words to him,

"Thank you Lord Fstemai, they have put trust in me as Ostia fights on two fronts against two differnt enemys...the people love victory!"

The chariot passed by lines of legionaires carrying the banners and standards of the legions who were away in battle, trumpets and drums marched beside them with pride, the legionaires carrying the standards wore lion and wold skins...

"There...our destination!"

The Colloseaum loomed in the distance, a flock of birds flew from the arches due to all the noise,

"We are almost there my friend"

The people of Ostia caught the coins the Valguardian threw to them, they cheered even louder

The diplomat then hearing the crowds jeer threw the last of the gold bag’s contents in a large handful to the crowd. Then the diplomat responded,” Emperor Xavier, your people trust you because you give them victory and your own trust. They only will give you their trust and love as long as you do the same in turn. Those are what the people will remember as good in the end.”

Then the diplomat looked unto the parade and coliseum remembering it well as a sign of the splendor and glory of the city and its people.

Emperor Xavier replyed,

"I love my people with all that i am and do my very best to lead them"

The command to halt was issued by General Marius, the trumpets and drums signaled it so the whole escort could hear. Once they had dismounted they climed the stairs to the emperor's veiwing box where there were three seats, wine and food had been prepared and sat on silver platters,

"Take a seat Lord Fstemai..enjoy yourself, female company?"

Quintus stood in the background with the two Valguardian escorts, two beautiful girls came with large fans.

Lord Fstemai took a seat and allowed for the two women to follow him to his seat. There his two guards took positions at his left and right sides, unyielding to any person of this nation. Then Lord Fstemai said to the emperor,” Such a great view for the games and all to do now is wait for the show to start. By the way when do my slave warriors go into battle?”

Emperor Xavier replyed,

"It is the first event my friend, i made sure!"

The Colloseaum filled up with people of all classes, Chariots raced around the arena to open the show and people cheered loudly. An announcer came to stand in a booth above the arena near the middle,

"People of Ostia! we have all gathered here today to veiw this great show put on by our mighty emperor Xavier the first!!"

The crowd roared, many of which stood up waving their arms around towards the emperor's box, the announcer continued after gesturing them to quiet down...

"People Of Ostia! A noble from Valguard also joins us today, Valguard and Ostia have recently allied with the intent to make out nations greater than they already are! for our first event we have slave warriors from Valguard Vs. Jupitars daughters!"

The crowd roared even louder than before,once they had quieted down the announcer signaled for the gates to be opened...

A loud explosion went off in front of the open gate and 14 golden chariots with female's riding them in golden armor rushed out of the gates, the sun bounced of their armor aswell as the 3 foot blades comming from their wheels..

The Ostian people cheered like wild animals, the girls who rode the chariots were teenagers and trained killers..they were very beautiful..

"There..they are mine friend..." Xavier smiled...

The slave warriors of Valgard charged out of a different pair of gates. Sixty five slave warriors of Valgard charged out dressed in both scale and chain mail armor. They all wielded long spears and covering shields as they charged out. As they filled out they formed a large circle. Then they rose their spears to the sun and then lowered them.

After they had done this Lord Fstemai said,” My warriors are strong opponents and they will hold their own against your chariots.”

"My people! I bring you this entertainment today, it helps those who have husbands..sons..brothers.. and other family members away fighting on forgin soil remember how to have a good time! ENJOY OSTIA BECAUSE THIS IS FOR YOU!!"

The crowd roared showing approval....

Xavier took his seat once more and looked to Lord Fstemai,

"Will all 65 Vs my chariots at once?or will you take part in other events today? if all your slaves fight now my chariots are slightly outnumbered.."

OOC: Xavier has more than 14 of these chariots of course, he just sent out a small amount..the others are not supposed to be involved in this event though..

After they had raised their swords 25 of the slave warriors left the arena floor and headed back inside the stadium. The other 40 went into battle formation. One of the slave warriors, a great man 6 and a half feet tall stood up and took command of the slave warriors as they prepared for the first assault by the chariots.

Lord Fstemai replied,” Sorry, about that it the habit of my people before any arena game to send out a contingent of slave warriors in honor of the gods. As for the other battle I have about eighty more slave warriors, including the twenty five that left the floor, waiting to be sent into battles later today.”

Emperor Xavier nodded then replyed to the diplomat,

"No worries, it is fine...honoring the gods is wise.."

The female charioteers started going around the arena at full speed preparing for their attack run, they noticed the Valguardian slaves were smarter then other opponents that had faced before..they used formation, this only made it more interesting for the ladys.

The commading chariot took the lead, a purple feather came from her golden helmet, she held a spear over her shoulder winding up for the throw then let it loose...

Three more of the charioteers fired arrows at the formation, the others continued to circle...

Lord Fstamai looked at the fight with great interest, but he knew better than to predict that the chariots would be to decimate his well trained warriors easily.

The crowd went wild when the lead horse crashed to the ground but not before the driver and passenger jumped off rolling through the dirt as the blades made contact with the slave formation.., another chariot came full speed with the blades spinning fast slicing into the sheilds, two more chariots came from the left flank both letting loose spears....

Emperor Xavier watched as the lead chariot was drug off by the horses unmanned, the two warriors who had bailed stood up one of which fired a crossbow at the formation,

"Testudo! amasing.." Xavier watched carefully...

Fstamai laughed and then said,” Think that is good watch this the.”

After he said that two slave warriors threw throwing axes at the two dismounted women. Then the testudo formation shifted quickly in the attempt to get the chariot to tip over on the formation’s shields.

As for the other two chariots they just held up the formation to prevent them from getting harmed by the projectiles that were being thrown at them.

One of the thrown axes struck the driver in the lower body, she screamed out in pain then dropped to her knees, the passenger threw a small dagger into the formation striking an enemy. The unmanned chariot launched off the formation and crashed into the ground, on the left flank the projectilles had been blocked by sheilds.

Two more chariots came flying in at a high speed, one fired a crossbow the other slashed out with a whip striking another enemy in the neck...

The emperor seen the warriors were putting up a great fight, he was deep into the show..

"Wonderful my friend! ahaha wonderful! what a waste of that pretty girl...ahaha"

Fstamai laughed in joy a bit as his slaves were fighting, but otherwise carefully watched the battle that was raging on the arena floor.

The slave warriors held their formation; if anyone of them fell they quickly readjusted their formation to compensate for their loss. As well, they began to lower the number of chariots they prepared for a different battle….

As for the upcoming chariots the Valgardian slave warriors threw their javelins at them in the hopes of killing the driver of the horse.

The spear stuck in the side of the golden chariot but made the driver jump, they came around for another pass...

Four chariots came into an arrow head formation and rode as fast as they could towards the slave formation, they shot their arrows and threw their spears hoping they would penitrate in this desperate attempt....

Xavier sat on the edge of his seat, the slaves were holding up...he was suprized and a little puzzled...

The slaves suffered a few casualties from the heavy attacks, but they held their ground to their training and their knowledge that if they broke ranks they would be fodder for the chariots.

Also, to respond to the fire the slave warriors of Valgard began to shift position in order to drive one of their chariots to crash into their shield and flip over.

As well, the middle of the formation let out a barrage of throwing axes and throwing spears in the hopes of taking down the chariots.

The emperor's charioteers continued to charge, a passenger in one of the charging ones was struck by one of the axes...on a different one a horse was struck causing the chariot to flip on it's side and slide across the ground.

The driver and the passenger climbed out but another charging chariot's 3 foot blades cut the driver in half, she screamed then was cut off. As for the charge one of the women fired a crossbow arrow into the foot of a man in the front ranks causing him to lower in pain and thats where the chariot charged right into blades spinning...

The crowd cheered and waited to see the effect it had on the formation, it looked almost as if it was getting through......

The formation held under the attack, but the men did not waver knowing that it was better to die holding your own ground then to give an inch to the enemy in life.

When the chariot came the hole in the formation the slave warriors spears were extended that were intended to kill the horse. Also, the commander of the slaves threw a javelin right at the driver of the chariot at point blank range.

The spear went right through her chest and the horse crashed into the formation casing a hole in it, the passenger was ejected towards the center of the group... the three foot blades on both wheels sliced through men on both sides. The emperors chariots were thinning and quickly, the remaining attackers veered off to the right and left trying to confuse their enemy, there were four charioteers on foot that charged through the hole swinging their weapons at the enemy...

Despite losing to men due to the chariot’s blades their formation held and they reformed to push the chariot back. With their shields out they made the chariot crash.

Then when the other chariots prepared for the new attack the slave warriors’ formation held despite the causalities they had suffered from the attacks.

The chariots charged from both the left and right flanks and two came down the center, they shot arrows and threw their spears into the ranks. Emperor Xavier stood up and walked to the ledge of his box, while the women ran through the gap they faught on the inside fericely.

The passenger who had been thrown off got to her feet and smashed a man in the back of the head with her golden mase, then swung at another...

The chariots had to break the line....

Before, the dismounted charioteer could do ant damage one of the slave warriors struck her right in the stomach with the tip of his blade and thus killed her instantly. Then as for another warrior a throwing axe hit her right in the head shattering her skull.

When the surviving chariots came around again the formation had been firmly reestablished their formation. Then all in the center they launched an entire volley of throwing axes right at them.

The remaining charioteers charge was suddenly halted, one chariot crashed into another causing them both to be reduced to splinters from the blades on their wheels. The others were struck by axes causing them to loose control and crash aswell, the emperor could barely believe his eyes as the charioteers were depleated..there was nothing left able to fight.

The only remaining gladiatrix were wounded scattered about across the arena floor, the crowd cheered loudly at the blood and gore. Some of the women screamed in pain as they lay awaiting their fate, one stood up and hobbled away from the formation holding her leg that was sliced open rather badly finally she fell begging for mercy loudly..

The emperor looked at the diplomat, signaled him to follow then stood up heading down the stairs towards the lower levels, the gates were opened and four coloums of praetorians double timed in and formed up near the slave formation. Xavier was seen strolling in followed by Quintus close behind....

The diplomat with his own two bodyguards left the balcony and followed the emperor down to the lower levels. As the door opened he trailed Emperor Xavier and wanted to know what was to become of the surviving female warrior.

When the Emperor Xavier entered the arena floor the slave warriors broke formation and stood in review pattern. When they had done this they raised their spears as a salute to honor him.

He approached slowly with an impressed expression on his face and he spoke to them,

"Well done! VERY well done! you fight like soldiers! Heros!...that was amasing, my warriors had never been defeated.."

The girl lay on her back looking towards the sky, she was drenched in blood. There were four other wounded girls laying about aswell one of which coughed up blood and was choaking, Quintus approached her and knelt..

"May the gods hold you beautiful young one.."

She gasped for air then finally stopped moving, the Praetorian returned to his previous stance with a grim look on his face...

The emperor turned to the diplomat,

"They are quite the group my friend, special..."

Xavier bellowed,

"Gladiators of Valguard!!"

The people went wild throwing flower pedals and confetti from the seats high above in favor of the battle,

"Lord Fstemi i leave the survivors fate to you...you shall make the call my friend..."

He gestured towards the young women scattered about the arena, they were scared and some trembled violently...

Lord Fstemai looked around at the different women who were either dying or wounded badly. Then feeling sympathy for them said,” It is easier to take a life of an opponent, but it is harder to let a person who fought against you live.

So I honor of their courage and valor in battle I grant them the right to live.”

Hearing their master’s judgment the slave warriors put their shields to the ground as a sign that the women would be allowed to live.

The emperor raised his thumb upwards showing they would live,

"The Vaguardian Lord has granted them life!!" he shouted...

Some people cheered while others disagreed with the decision, the majority wanted to see them live in this case....

Xavier nodded in respect then strolled closer to the warriors inspecting them carefully, he even spoke to afew of them..

He stopped at the end by the leader and said,

"I watched you today, you fight like a general...your a very honorable warrior, i have respect for a qualifyed leader such as yourself..have you any real military experiance.."

The emperor showed interest in this slave, he had ordered the tactics which defeated his beloved chariots for once.

Reallydrunk']The emperor raised his thumb upwards showing they would live.OOC: Just a little note to say the thumbs meant for them to throw their weapons to the ground and thumns down meant to strike them in the neck. Yet, I don't care as I usally get confused on that myself.

The diplomat took note of the divided response of the crowd so he did not say anything else and just decided to keep an eye on his warriors to make sure they respected the emperor well enough.

The main slave warrior responded,” Emperor Xavier, sir, I am honored greatly by your praise and to answer you I once served in the army of Valgard as a non-Valgardian auxiliary soldier commander, but I deserted during the wars of the east so I was enslaved as a slave warrior and that is how I am who I am today.

As for your chariots I have fought against them before in Scotland when there was a local uprising of Celtic barbarians against the rule of Valgard.”

The emperor responded to the man,

"Your deserve my praise sir, well faught and an interesting history you have....maybe i will have the pleasure of seeing you fight again?"

The wounded gladiatrix were carried out of the arena on stretchers, the dead ones were simply grabbed and thrown on a cart then pushed through the gates where they would be thrown in a large furnace.

Xavier watched the commander of the defeated charioteers being thrown on a cart,

"Present her dagger she was awared with to that salve Quintus...she does not need it now.."

The praetorian saluted then strolled over where he drew his own dagger cutting her leather belt off, he walked over to the slave warrior and placed it in his hand....

The slave warrior commander bowed deeply in thanks to his praise and also for the dagger. He then took the dagger and put it into his belt for sake keeping.

Then he said,” I will, most likely fight in a latter game here today in a one on one duel with someone. Also, thank you for your great praise and your most generous of gifts.”

Lost Fstemia looked at the slave in the eyes and gave him his approval of something, unknown to any others. The slave warrior then became completely silent…

The slave warrior commander bowed deeply in thanks to his praise and also for the dagger. He then took the dagger and put it into his belt for sake keeping.

Then he said,” I will, most likely fight in a latter game here today in a one on one duel with someone. Also, thank you for your great praise and your most generous of gifts.”

Lost Fstemia looked at the slave in the eyes and gave him his approval of something, unknown to any others. The slave warrior then became completely silent…

Quintus commander of the Preatorian guard then said to him,

"My emperor favors you..he will probally try and buy you for his own..you faught well slave...there is a price to pay for every man's freedom..."

He grinned....

"With skills such as you displayed..you might even make military rank some day.."

The slave warrior looked down to the ground and then said,” Some men, do not deserve the right to be free.

As for me my freedom cannot be bought so easily because of my sins against the very soul of the Valgardian Empire. I have earned what has become of me, please do not attempt to release me from my past crimes.”

Quintus nodded and replyed,

"All sins can be forgiven....redemption is not far.."

Emperor Xavier did one final inspection of the slaves who faught his chariots and turned around in a circle,

"Annnnd there you have! the slave warriors of Valguard!!!"

The people went wild, they took a rather fast liking to these warriors who had displayed, skill, courage and bravery. Xavier signaled Quintus to call his men to attention, when they all presented arms the emperor strolled in front of them heading back towards the gate with the diplomat,

"Fine warriors....next we shall see man Vs. Beast.." he smiled...

The slave warriors raised there spears in one final salute, first to the emperor, and then to the crowd. After that they banged their spears three times against the ground and began to fill, one by one, out of the arena floor and go through a number of different gates.

Looking at the crowd Lord Fstemia was pleased on how well the people of this city had liked the fights. Then Fstemia said to the Xavier,” Emperor Xavier I have another fifteen fresh slave warriors ready to go battle. When you want just give the word I will have them out here in a minute.

As for the captain of the slave warriors of the last battle I am willing to grant him into your service for free if you are willing to keep him bound to your service as long as you see fit or are able too.”
