Whyatican Northern Colony, City of New Home
The newspaper for the day had a brilliantly bolded headline, "Whyatica Forges Military Alliance with Yurka!"

The Whyatican Colonial Leader, a man named Ali Al-Alamm, knew that Yurka had a similar colony bordering theirs, so he sent a quick communication to the Yurkan colony leader, saying,

Greetings, ally. I request a formal meeting between our leaders to determine future policy of the Whyatican and Yurkan Northern Colonies. If I could meet you in your colony's capital, that would be preferable, as all government buildings have not been fully erected yet.

Ali Al-Alamm

Whyatican High Command

A room full of High Generals and Grand Admirals looked at a 3d projection of the globe, and highlighted in bright red were Whyatican assets. Included were the Protectorate of Zenti, and the Northern Colonies.

"We need a water outlet for this colony, as we are surrounded by large, militarily powerful nations here. They're landlocked, and we need a fleet base for this area." A high ranking general said.

"Yurka has already come to us secretly asking if we're interested in invading the Juumanistran colony." he said, pointing at a landmass, which zoomed in on the map.

"We do not want to appear the aggressors, so our colonies must be made to declare war on Juumanistra through other means.."

"Deploy the Panther Brigade. The Whyatican colonial leader has asked for a meeting with the Yurkan colony leader, so we colour the Panther Brigade in Juumanistran colours and order them to assassinate the Yurkan and Whyatican leaders..A Panther Brigadesman gets killed, and then it's obvious to the Yurkans that Juumanistra did it, so we invade them."

"Yes. Also, our R&D from the new colony has come up with a new tank. They have ten of these new designs in the colony, and we'll field-test them in Juumanistra.."

The generals and Grand Admirals talked for hours, debating strategy, tactics, and other such things for an invasion of the Juumanistran colony. The argument got so heated, a General threw his water bottle at a Grand Admiral and nearly stormed out.

They eventually came up with an invasion plan, which was discreetly sent to the Yurkan Obelisk..

Obelisk; Section 7

The room was well lit, resembling that of a corporate boardroom, however it was completely windowless, and everything had a slight aura of wealth to it. From the rare imported plans at the sides of the room, to the masterpieces adorning the walls, all the way to the table and chairs themselves, made by Yurka's finest artisans, though adorned with the immense symbol of Obelisk. They all stared over at copies of the document from Whyatica's high council, most of them smiling.

"They've accepted our request, excellent. Inform Section Five immediately, perhaps they can start a raffle for our citizens or the like?" A young woman said with a calm smile as she popped a pill into her mouth, washing it down with a cup of water, "Though Juumanistra's defenses are tough, Yurka will be morally superior. We will be on the side of justice."

"Of course, however if things turn out poorly..." An old man mumbled, looking at the second page of the report, one done by Section 1, and involved all known records of Whyatica, "We may need to form a peace treaty. Have section four get that underway. Is everything ready? What has the Emperor said on the matter?"

"He and the rest of the heads have all agreed. The project is a go. Chairman Deus will die at the assembly." The woman said with a smile, as if this entire thing was in actuality not all that important. The pills worked wonders like that, "Section Four also has some operatives in there. They've been in semi-contact with other members over the years, and are living in Juumanistra under aliases. We won't be able to contact them, but when the war breaks out they should have some idea what to do."

"Excellent. This meeting is over."

Yurkan Colonial Capital

A sleek black VTOL aircraft, flying low below RADAR, landed on the outskirts of the capital of Preta. Twenty-five Panther Brigadesmen, dressed in what was purported as Juumanistran Special Operations colours.

They found two large SUVs parked for them, left by Yurkan operatives on the outskirts of town. They entered the SUVs, and the team leader monotonously rattled off his orders from the Command Relay:

"Chairman Deus is our target, and he lives in a large mansion in Preta. At night, ten of us will attack the mansion from the front, by roping over the walls of the estate and killing armed guards silently. The other fifteen of us will move in by VTOL while the first guards are occupied, zip-lining down, and breaking into the Chairman's window and assassinating him. Projected Chairman losses: 80%. Panther Brigade losses: 3%"

The Panther Brigades did not need to nod, as they already understood their orders perfectly. One man got out of the SUV, and piloted the VTOL closer to their launching spot. Fourteen Panther Brigadesmen joined him, and waited for nightfall. Ten men drove into town in SUV, about two blocks from the Chairman's house, waiting for nightfall as well..

The heavy oaken door to President Warner’s inner sanctum flung open. “Mr. President, we have a problem,” exclaimed Secretary of Defense Shawn Dern, as he burst in carrying a copy of the Davenport Post-Intelligencer.

“We always have problems, Shawn, only thing that ever changes is the size,” President Warner sighed. Between the Congress’s inquiry into the Navy and several stalled procurement projects, Dern had brought him nothing but bad news of late. And this, he knew, would be little different.

“Quite true, sir,” Dern solemnly nodded for a moment, before producing the newspaper for the President. “Have you seen the story, below the fold, in today’s Davenport Post-Intelligencer, about the Yurkan-Whyatican alliance?”

Bad news, indeed, Warner grimaced. “I was briefed about it earlier, yes. The interactions of a pair of tinhorn dictatorships really aren’t our concern,” he weakly shrugged, “save for a certain…geographic proximity between our interests.”

“I take it Marshal Nakamori got to you before I could,” Dern sighed heavily, exhaustion tugging at his voice from his run cross-town from Brookstone, the home of Juumanistra’s central command. “I assume he apprised you of the potential threat to Skiberdeenia.”

“I’d have had him fired if he hadn’t,” Warner heartily laughed, “though his suggestion was a bit…wishful in its thinking.”

“Yes, Darryn can be quite enthusiastic about operations planning, when he wants to be,” Dern replied, after which both men chuckled at the expense of the Marshal’s infamous penchant for grandiosity.

“Shawn, anticipating fuel consumption for an armored division is enthusiasm. Asking for a quarter of the army to be deployed to Skiberdeenia and a hundred RX-74 tactical nukes is deranged,” the President cut short their merriment.

“Then why do you let him keep his post Army Chief of Staff?” Dern arched his right eyebrow quizzically. “Plenty of people in the Congress and Brookstone would be glad if he were forced to retire.”

“Sometimes I think it’s just to spite myself,” Warner roared in another fit of self-deprecation, “but he does bring up a good point.”

But it was time to get back to the business at hand.

“Office of Strategic Planning is already drawing up additional deployment schedules to increase our presence on the frontiers, Mr. President.”

“Force composition?”

“A half dozen-mobile corps, as well as another three highland corps.”

“Highland corps?” It was now the President’s turn to arch an eyebrow. “I don’t seem to remember there being a line-item about those in the last appropriations bill I signed.”

“Material conversion package for mechanized infantry units. Ditches the unit’s heavier tracked vehicles for wheeled ones,” Dern explained, “save for the Centurions.”

“Given that it’s the most expensive land warfare system this country’s ever invested in, I’d hope so. At least until FLWSS comes online.” Warner suppressed a wince at mentioning the Future Land Warfare Supremacy System, one of the Future Force Initiative’s myriad bogged down development programs.

“It has more to do with their performance envelope, sir,” Dern softly corrected the President. “While the highlands along the Whyatican and Yurkan frontiers are at the limit of operation capabilities, the Centurions are capable of operating.”

“Well, that’s some good news!” Warner let himself indulge in a moment, as he knew the ABTs would be more than enough for any armor that succeeded in navigating the highlands. “I suspect that the Joint Chiefs are also working on what they want in the way of battlefield preparation?”

“Yes, Mr. President, they’ve got most of what they want written down and are in the process of finalizing the rest of their wish list.” Dern looked at the floor for a moment, recalling the juicer pieces of hardware they wanted, and then began again: “They want twenty-four-hour Fu-47 and Fu-81 presences on the frontier, vastly increased aerial patrols, more tons of razor wire and mines than I could shake a stick at, access to Helios HAUSVs and strike-capable UCAVs…

“Quite the wish, isn’t it?” Warner face drew into a scowl as he saw he’d cut off Dern. “And there’s more, isn’t there?”

“Yes, sir, there is,” Dern replied meekly, “what is it that every commander always wants?”

“More troops,” Warner said with enough venom for it to have been a curse. “On top of the nine corps they’re already getting, they want even more men?”

“Most of what they want is additional aircraft and naval support, sir,” Dern paused to collect himself before making the pitch for more ground troops. “But they are asking for an additional corps worth of engineers and several thousand more gunnery crews to bring the frontier up to full strength.”

Warner sighed and then nodded. “Well, I suppose it could be worse. At least they’re not asking for the reserves to be mobilized.”

“Actually, sir—“ Dern spoke up, before being gestured to stop by Warner.

“Not going to happen, Shawn.” Warner hung his head at the thought he might have to one day soon activate the reserves. “At least not until after the shooting starts. And, for both of our sakes, we’d best hope it never starts in the first place.”

Yurkan Colonial Capital; Preta

The Colonial Capital housed a total of twenty million people within its blackened infrastructure, making spotting the SUVs nearly impossible. Being a colonial capital, most of the citizens still drove cars, helping them blend in even better than they would have. The method of the Panther Brigade was perfect, as was to be expected. It would need to be, since the moderately guarded compound was not in on the plot, and would sound the alarms if they found out what was going on. The panthers were essentially fighting against time, along with the nearly thirty armed guards within the large estate.

Chairman Deus' Estate

The three-story black mansion blended in perfectly with the forest surrounding it, along with the city facing it from the front. It was not made with defense in mind, but merely isolation for the aging chairman. This was his reward for service to the empire, a nice quiet retirement away from the bustling capital.

At the front gates, two guards stood safely behind the barred fence, holding light machine guns, in full military uniforms. Behind them was the short drive through the treets to mansion itself, in which the Chairman was resting on the second floor, recovering from a bout of the Yurkan Coughing Sickness days ago. Moving throughout the forest a further eight military personnel were scouting about in groups of two. Inside of the house numerous other soldiers waited or rested on the lower floors, while three were talking amongst themselves as they stood out on the top balcony, facing the forest and city behind it. This was all the information given. Anyone in the Mansion was expendable, though the Emperor requested that Chairman Deus' two young daughters not be harmed. Other than this they could kill the rest of his immediate family, including Deus' wife and oldest son.

Vouziers Imperial Military Airfield

"Jesus Christ, what are these guys preparing for?" The mechanic rubbed his head as he looked at another squadron of Lu-45 Hawks begin to land on the long strips about two thousand meters away from him. This would be the fourth squadron of Hawks to be deployed to the airfield under the general decision between the Juumanistran government and the Imperial government, provisioned between them for the joint defense of their colonies near Skibereen. The addition of a fourth squadron had been tricky, and it had taken quite a bit of persuasion from Imperial ambassadors in Skibereen to ease tensions, and at least their was a short term history of relations between Skibereen and the Empire improving. The situation became touchy when one remembered the fact that it had been an invasion party near the year 1000 C.E. which had opened the area to Imperial politics, and meddling had not ceased since, even though it had been a long time since the Empire had been forced into the small enclave it owned to this day. Then again, to the Empire four squadrons was a rather small number, although it had been strange that the Empire had deployed Hawks, when most were still needed for the war in the mainland Empire. Nevertheless, High Command had insisted that the very best be sent, even if in small numbers.

The other mechanic, looking foward with his co-worker responded, "I don't know buddy. I think they're just preparin', or something. You know, with this entire 'War of Succession' and all. Maybe they're worried that Skibereen will attack the colony."

The first mechanic looked puzzled, "So why don't they deploy there?"

"No clue man. I'd just worry about our jobs." The other said.

"Right." With that, they fell silent and continued to look at the aircraft hitting the runways in perfect order. They were interrupted by their maintenance team chief, coming from behind, who barked, "What are you two doing?" He drilled at them with his eyes and went on, "Get back to work!"

One of them rolled his eyes and retorted, "We already worked on everything, mac."

The chief grimly said, "Yea, well don't expect easy shifts for long. I got reports that they're flying in an armoured brigade. An armoured brigade of all things! I didn't even know we used armoured brigades! Rumour has it that it's six Waffen-SS Special Operations Task Forces mashed together. If it's Waffen-SS this has to be big."

The mechanics merely said, "Fuck. That means a lot of hardwork."

He was absolute right. The 1st through 6th Waffen-SS Special Operations Task Forces were being unified into a single armoured brigade, sporting 750 frontline men alone. What they didn't know was that they would have much more work than that. Die Slowaken, a Novikovian formation, put together before Novikov had become a crown territory of the United Kingdom of Azazia, was also on its way. Die Slowaken was a fully integrated Panzergrenadier Battalion, also sporting a small heavy armour company. All together the Empire would put around 1,200 men in the Juumanistran colony for now, as part of a joint defense program between the two countries in case of a plausible war in the region, especially if Skibereen became hostile. If hostilities did occur the Empire had planned a fast reaction sequence which would put a further Waffen-SS Arca Division in the colony, the Die Verurteilen Sie Land, composed of Doomingslandi soldiers. But that was the gist of it. There were no other provisions for more to be put in Juumanistra, and no thoughts about putting a fleet in the area were given - it would simply be far too costly.

For now, Juumanistra was aided by that.

Orion Naval Base; Yurkan Colony
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/Kutulmak/Avatar3.jpg

The naval base was immense, which wasn't surprising, as Yurka's pride and joy was her immense navy. Due to the war games currently taking place, defenses were raised and they went so far as to bring a Yurkan Class Super Dreadnought outside of port, along with a small contingent of frigates and Aguas. That would keep any aggressive actions to take place while they were having war games along the northern parts of the colony. Though it was a big odd for two million soldiers to be taking part in something on this scale, but it would be good training for the Youth Patrol, which made up over a quarter of the soldiers engaging. The streams of these young teenagers was almost nonstop, enthusiastic even though most of them were destined to fail during the games.

Commander Altredies Vento (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/Kutulmak/Lans.jpg) looked out over his naval base with a calming smile on his face as he looked over at a group of young men and women from the empire leaving a transport craft. The Youth Patrol wasn't messing around when they said they would send in a significant portion of their more capable members. Watching them marching forward with their assault rifles, he slowly thought back to his own years in the youth patrol...

"Truly a credit to our Empire." He said with a sarcastic smile as one nearly tripped over a large pipe refueling one of the ships. He then turned to one of his captains, who had been watching Altredies little moment to himself, "Well John, what is it?"

"Uh, sir! The Empire brought more supplies for the war games!" The dark haired man said with a salute, "The higher ups would like to know if we're going to be low on anything in the next few months while the games take place."

"Hmm... Well we could use some more live ammo, and maybe some banshee tanks for practice. Those are always fun to spring on the kids. Oh and soap... Lots of soap." He began to smile as he licked his upper lip thoughtfully, "Yes."

"Soap sir?" The Captain as a confused expression came over him.

"Yeah... Soap Captain." He said with a grin, "Have you looked in the barracks lately? Those young punks keep moving in and out with no time to clean it, and they're using our reserves. The officers are complaining about the smell."

"Ah... Soap... Got it."

"So hear any word from the Northern Base?" The Commander asked, looking over at a group of female officers walking by, coming out of the unisex bathroom, "...Its been over twenty four hours since we've heard from them. They might need more supplies."

"Ah, well Commander we did get a small memo from them saying they'd like more aircraft. They're going to start patrolling the skies with more planes, give the Youth Patrol up there a bit of flight experience."

"Hmm..." He mumbled, in that familiar way which made the fact that made his single eye shut a bit, as if he were trying to notice something just out of vision range, "I suppose thats it then. Good day Captain."

As the Commander walked off, past the huge warehouses surrounding the entire port, Captain John Grimoire saluted him until he turned around a corner, sighing quietly to himself as he walked off towards the Communications office. He was surprised that the naval base was so efficient with a commander like Altredies in charge of it, but guessed it was one of the miracles of the Yurkan military's efficiency.

Preta Air Force Base; Yurkan Colony

"You call that flying up there, Aria?!" The Colonel shouted, staring downward at the small girl from the Youth Patrol, "Because if thats flying I think all of my pilots had better go home now, because they must be doing something else entirely!"

"S-sir no sir!" She responded, saluting as she shivered.

"Right! I don't want to see anymore of that crap! You almost crashed the fucking thing into our cook! Do you know how to cook, WORM?! I sure as hell could give a rats ass about that kinda shit! Now if you EVER do something so STUPID again I'll have you kicked out of the military so fast..."

The girl suddenly broke into tears as Colonel Arvis Branca looked at her, disgusted. Just as a phone was handed to him by one of the officers and he turned, giving her the visual que to be quiet, which she more or less complied to. After all, it wasn't every day someone was shouted at by an old Imperial Ace like Arvis Branca, unless you happened to be stationed at Preta Air Force Base.

"Hello? Oh Imperial General Karth Grimoire!... Yes... Oh of course." He said politely, almost as if he became a different person when he was on the phone, his white hair hanging behind him in a small knot. He then laughed a bit, "You're always welcome at the Preta Air Base. No no, we have more than enough room for you. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised."

He slowly turned the phone off and handed it back, as the officer walked away and he turned back to the young girl. He then rolled his shoulders a bit and looked at the rest of the Youth Patrol behind her, who were seemingly shocked for some reason.

"Well Aria, I hope you've learned your lesson. Pay more attention next time or you'll be kicked out of the military and have to live with the knowledge that you let House Raio down. As for the rest of you! Get to the mess hall before you miss lunch!"

Haha... Over an entire Air Fleet stationed here, all to train a bunch of novices from the Youth Patrol... But I guess it can't be helped... They are the future after all... Gods help us...

Secret Whyatican Airfield, Whyatican Northern Colony

A fourteen plane wing of Ne-41 Reavers prepared themselves in a hidden Whyatican airfield. The military leaders of the Colony were unaware of the existance of this airfield, as it was solely for operations of the High Command.

They were painted in customary Juumanistran colours, and for all intents and purposes, they were Juumanistran planes. Except for that small matter of being controlled by Whyatican pilots and being launched from a Whyatican airfield.

The air wing launched, and set their cruise on to maximum along the Juumanistra-Whyatica border until they reached the Whyatica-Yurka border. They immediately dove low below RADAR and prepared their sweep up to the Colonial capital of Preta.

They were 50km from Preta, when the squad leader sent a comm: "Up!"

The planes, as one, rose into the air, arming their Air-To-Surface missiles. They shot over Preta, unloading dozens of missiles aimed at buildings and population centers. One particularly brash pilot aimed his 32mm cannon and strafed a neighborhood, sending whizzing bullets flying everywhere..

That was the signal for the Panther Brigade.

.5km from the Estate of Chairman Deus
The dark SUV quietly moved within about 400 meters away from the guards at the gate of Deus' estate, and one Panther Brigadesman grabbed a sniper rifle out of the back of the car, leaned very slightly out the window, aimed, and fired. This process was repeated as he loaded another chamber in his rifle and let loose. The Panther Brigades got out of the car, quickly moved to the unguarded walls, and zip-lined over. Every time they saw a guard after jumping the fence, they shot at it, silently.

Overhead, the Panther Brigade's VTOL roared. It used it's 8mm miniguns and 30mm guns to great effect, sweeping the guards on the outside of the complex..

55,000 feet above the Skiberdeenia-Whyatica frontier

Eighteen Fu-47 Starlight AWACS aircraft were patrol that evening along the border, when fourteen unknown contacts launched from a previously unknown airstrip. They were duly reported and catalogued, their similarity to the Ne-41 being noted and passed onto higher ups. They were observed for an hour as they proceeded across the frontier and descended into Yurkan territory, at which point tracking passed to another eighteen Starlight patrol group, which duly noted their course towards Preta before they slipped out of observance range. For the duration of their cruise on the long border and along the Yurkan frontier, an additional two-hundred-and-eighty-eight aircraft detected the flight at some point in their transit and dutifully passed word back Kellington.

150,000 feet above the Skirdeenia-Whyatica frontier

A half-dozen Helios HAUSVs floated in a lazy figure-eight on the Juumanistran side of the border. From their vantage point, all that was transpiring below: The improvised field, the fighters, their preparations for their mission, and the carnage they were inflicting upon Perta. All uploaded back to Juumanistran Space Command, with both reconnaissance photos and real-time sensor streams.

Brookstone
Juumus, Juumanistra

As news the data continued to come in, the military began to piece together what was happening. At least in the sense that fourteen fighters had taken off from Whyatican territory, cruised along the border at altitude, dove for the deck as they crossed the Yurkan frontier, and were conducting a raid in Yurkan territory. It was quickly surmised that this was meant to be a casus belli for the newly-forged military alliance between the two states against Juumanistra. But would it be enough, in the face of hundreds of sightings of them on the Whyatican side of the border, to say nothing of the Helios and satellite photos of the preparations for the assault?

One thing was certain, though. Things were going to get a lot worse before they started getting better.

Preta

The immense city lit up in explosions as the sneak attack commenced, as sirens quickly sounded throughout the city. Numerous buildings were on fire, and large numbers of bodies were lining the streets as bullets whizzed through them in the middle of the night. Most of the people outside were rushing towards the more fortified buildings, as missiles continuously tore through the neighborhoods, spreading flames and panic.

Preta Air Force Base

"Go! Go! Go!" The officers were shouting as the pilots quickly rushed out of their barracks towards the hangars, some changing into their uniforms as they made their way across the runways, "We've got an attack over Preta! Hurry the hell up!"

The Youth Patrol more or less stayed behind as dozens of the heavily modified Vanguard Virages took off skywards, an entire wing of seventy-five planes. While this was going on, more pilots were getting ready to head to the borders, to help supplement the forces there in case this was just a diversion to let their guard down.

Colonel Arvis Branca stared out the window of one of the control towers as he picked up the radio and stared at it, adjusting it to the naval frequency...

"Orion Naval Base, we've got a problem..."

Yurkan Satellite Command; CLASSIFIED (57 Minutes ago)

The darkened room immediately lit up with red lights as the screens all suddenly went black, as the warning lights pooled through the entire complex. The controllers quickly started pounding away trying to find out what was wrong as the General walked in, a horrified look on his face.

"Whats going on here?! I was at a meeting!"

"General, the satellites! They're malfunctioning! Someones hacking into the complex!"

"What?! How?! The codes are unbreakable!"

Just then, the entire room blacked out as the automatic doors locked everyone inside...

Chairman Deus' Estate; First Floor Control Center

The room was small, about the size of a large closet, with two men seated in front of a small computer console. They were watching the reports of the sudden attack on Preta, disgusted and angry at whoever it was that decided to attack the Empire.

"Damn..." One of the guards muttered as he stared at the television as the attack was happening, "What the fuck is going on out there?!"

"Gaaah... Hold that thought... Zeifer, Elizibeth. Please report..." He muttered into the microphone, waiting a full minute before clicking it on again to repeat the statement, "Zeifer, Liz, report? Are you guys out there?"

"Maybe the things jammed? I'll go check for them. Though just in case..."

"Alright. Hurry up though." He mumbled as he flicked off the alarm, as a low sound began to emanate from gates and building.

Chairman Deus' Estate

The acute hearing of the Panther Brigades picked up the alarm as they vaulted the walls, so their assault VTOL gained some altitude and dropped it's EMP bomb on the complex, sending off a pulse that would disable the alarm system of the complex fairly easily without damaging the VTOL aircraft itself.

After the EMP bomb was safely over, the VTOL dove back down above the complex and Panther Brigade soldiers began to drop down onto the ceiling from the VTOL aircraft.

On the ground, the assault continued, with guards spotted and shot at almost as soon as they were seen. The alarm had been sounded, but that didn't worry the Panther Brigades as of yet..

Chairman Deus' Estate

There were some immediate shouts inside as a group of guards quickly kicked out windows on the top floor and began to fire at VTOL before disappearing back inside and working their way to the stairs. Meanwhile, Chairman Deus was quickly taken by a group of guards, along with his family, out of his second floor room. From there he would make his way to the basement and into the bomb shelter, where he would be safe for an estimated two weeks. Thankfully his leg was still badly injured, so his movement was impaired.

"Die in hell bastards!" An overzealous guard shouted as he quickly kicked open the front door with a light machine gun and began to fire it into the wilderness at the Panther Brigade, as movement of other guards moved around behind him.

Preta Colonial Capital

The sky suddenly lit up as the first squadron(15 planes) of the Vanguards, as if out of nowhere, quickly skimmed over the city, immediately launching missiles at the planes as soon as the first ones were detected. The other four squadrons were only minutes behind them.

The wild bullets fired at the VTOL had no effect whatsoever, as the skin of the plane was virtually immune to small arms fire. It continued to strafe the outer areas, although most of the guards outside had to have been dead at this point in time.

The ground assault continued, as one Panther Brigadesman was nailed in the neck by a light machine gun round and fell to the ground, choking on the bullet. His comrades immediately aimed at the offending gunner, and loosed well-placed rounds at him..

Over the Skies of Preta

"Ahaha..This is fun! How often do you get to do this!" a young Whyatican pilot said over the comm.

"Watch it, bogeys incoming!" the squad leader said as the 15 Vanguard Virages appeared on their RADAR.

The Ne-41 pilots loosed their own missiles at the Vanguards while attempting to dodge the ones they fired, and a pilot went into a corkscrew to avoid a missile when he smacked into another one.

"I'm going down!" the pilot said over his comm, as he aimed his plane toward a skyscraper in Preta..

"All pilots are to retreat to the Juumanistran border, but take out as many bogeys as you can, over.."

The air battle continued, but the suicidal Whyatican pilots had lost two of their own already, and still more Vanguards arrived..

Governor's Casa, Jewittist Skibereen

The nation, newly formed to Jewittist Skibereen, was well under way of being nationalized into a fully sufficant state. It had been a year since it was annexed by The Jewittist Republic, and still a military presence was heavily seen by the people. Their faces were uneffected as Iskra Light Battle Tanks barreled down their streets, previously blocked off for the transfer of its possition in the city, on a weekly basis.

"So," continued on the governor of Jewittist Skibereen to his generals, far away inside his secluded government home, "these people want to expand their borders imperialy? Big deal." The Generals were in a heated conversation on protecting the Jewittist Republic's investments in Skibereen. "If they expand too far, their governments will bind into a heafty alliance, and probably, break the teeder-todder that is the difference in our views. Right now it is flat, but it is sliding upwards in their favor. We have to keep Jewittism living in this part of the world. If Juumanistra fails, I believe that Jewittist Skibereen will, also."

The governor simply smiled and said "They know not to mess with The Republic." Four of the five generals had expressions to match the governor, yet the one who protested before kept his face the same. "I am sure el Presidente will side with me on this. He would want full Jewittist Supremacy here, and you are not doing your job of expanding the Republic." The governor, now on the offencive, shot back "Not doing my job? Am I to invade Juumanistra and claim it a Jewittist State? Maybe launch a full invasion of these two agressors and claim them part of Jewittist Skibereen? I doubt that he would want me to order any of those two options."

The debate continued on, and only the Presidente could make the decision.

Chairman Deus' Estate

"Die! Die! D-" He shouted, quickly stopped as a number of well placed bullets slammed into him, his body flying back as a rain of blood splashed in front of him.

Before the guard's body even hit the floor two guards rushed to the sides of the doors, firing a few handgun shots before quickly leaping to either side. They knew they couldn't hold them off forever, but they would try to buy time for the others. There were less than seven left, and while four of them were leading the Chairman and his family down the stairs to the first floor, eventually to the basement, the other three were raiding the small armory in the control room near where the fight was breaking out, getting more powerful weapons and even a small amount of grenades which were kept there in times of need.

Over the skies of Preta

"I've scored a hit!" One of the pilts shouted as he quickly pulled up, dodging a missile as it slammed into the streets below, which were now mostly empty, "Domitus! How are we doing?"

"Gahh... They just knocked out Harris and Noel..." The cockpit's radio blarred back, "And it looks like the bastards are heading West!" There was a slight, almost ecstatic sound before he began speaking again, "Alright! Reinforcements are here!"

"Sir! I've got two on my tail... C-can't shake e-" The radio was suddenly filled with a blast of static as a group of explosions erupted somewhere else in the cities.

"Alex, what is it?! Alex?! Gahh!!! I want everyone to fall back to the rest of the planes, we'll take the bastards out en masse'!"

"Aye sir!" Numerous male and female voices resounded as the planes quickly darted back, dodging missiles as they turned back, dodging missiles and gunfire as they met up with another sixty fighters, finally from the nearby airforce base.

Bir Hachiem Military Headquarters, Juumanistran Colonies

News of an attack on Yurkan city of Preta had just seeped in and initial reports were confusing at best. At first it was largely perceived that Juumanistra had orchistrated the attack against Preta, but as more information was analyzed it became evident rather quickly that something more was at large. It just didn't add up. The Empire administrated seven airfields throughout the colony, most empty of aircraft, but full of sensor equipment, and it was accurate to say that the Empire had an independent radar network throughout the entire colony, and beyond its borders, meaning it knew exactly everything that was going through the airspace. Strangely enough, no reports of Juumanistran attack aircraft had come in, although the Juumanistrans had launched an array of aircraft into the sky earlier, which translated into twelve Starlight AWACs and half as much Helios HAUSVs, which had fed Juumanistra with information on the attack. By the end of the day it was largely obvious that it had been Whyatica who had ordered and orchestrated the strike. What would happen next would be unknown. For some reason the military could not put two and two together, and some feared a massive war between Yurka and Whyatica, while others thought this some sort of clandestine special operations war. However, no one expected that this would spill over into Juumanistra. To this extent, and for further argumentation, the high command over Imperial forces in the sector had aglomerated at Bir Hachiem where they would discuss the future of the Golden Expeditionary Force [GEF], and the Colonial Laerihans whic had augmented in force throughout the last twenty-four hours.

Colonel General Alfred Hizch looked at the array of maps displayed in front of him while one of the other lower generals sputtered on about the possiblities. He seemed dazed and largely uninterested, although in reality his face showed no emotion. As the man beginning the lecture finished Hizch took the time to speak, "What are the threats of this war spilling into Juumanistra?"

The other man blinked, and then answered, "I don't know sir, but if it does I don't think what we have now will be enough."

Hizch nodded and responded, "Well, it will have to do. The Havenites have not yet been dislogdged at Mosnoi Bor, regardless of the apparent success at La Gloria, in Zarbia, and against the rebels at the River Nestor. In other words, the Emperor will be extremely wary of spreading his forces thin, although his reserves are bulging with men since he is not using all of them. But alas, I do not believe we will be receiving much support soon. When will the 1st Arca Brigade land?"

Another man spoke up. This time it was a colonel; probably a logistics officer. He said, "The personnel will land tomorrow at Vouziers, and their equipment four days later at the same airfield. Die Slowaken will land here, at Bir Hachiem, within eight to ten days. In total we'll amount to around eight hundred frontline men, or less. Not much."

"Air power?" The general continued to question.

The same man responded, "Vouziers sports four squadrons of Hawks, and within two days they'll receive three squadrons of Falcons. Rougíer will be packed with two squadrons of Haws and three of Falcons. All in all, we're expecting a total of twenty squadrons of Hawks, eight squadrons of Falcons, and six squadrons of some new test weapon being put out by Kriegzimmer - the... Valkyrie, I think it's called."

Hizch continued to nod and them muttered, "Thank you." It was very little. The airpower amounted to 144 air superiority fighters and ninety-six multie role fighters. The real strength would come from the total of seventy-two Valkyries, but they were merely test weapons, and their real potential would have to soon be tested. There were rumours that two squadrons of Lu-27 Condors were to land in the colonies, but that was still a far off venture. Hizch then said, "I've been able to persuade the High Command in Fedala to transfer the 14th and 15th Waffen-SS Panzergrenadier Divisions from the colonies, since the occupation of the Jagadan colony has gone smoothly thus far. That said, that should boost strength by around six thousand frontline soldiers. The 19th Waffen-SS Panzer Division, Unmberspeenk, and the 20th, Flarunjar. That should bring up armoured strength by at least three hundred Cougars. In the end, we're not as alone as you think."

Another high end general asked, "What's the projection time?"

Hizch responded,"Within a week or two. They are already mobilized for the war of succession. We should only worry about transport time. But we must ready the airbases around this damn colony for their arrival."

The Empire was readying for a possible war near their neighbors, with the potential of destabilizing the entire region...

"So someone has attacked Preta?"
"Yes Sir"
"Move all available formations to our border with Whyatica, forget doom, there semi-friendly with us, the only unknown quantity are the whyaticans, if we get dragged in to this mess, then thats where it will happen"

Along the Whyatican border, the regular guards were bolstered with X and XI Corps of the Confederate Army, alongside eight guards and marines divisions, there was huge firepower ready to strike or defend if neccesary.

Estate of Chairman Deus
The small caliber bullets ricocheted harmlessly off the Panther Brigades armour, as it was designed to take everything up to machine gun bursts remaining intact.

They saw the heat signatures of the two guards behind the door, and some Brigadesmen tossed smoke grenades into the door, causing the men to choke and cough and be unable to see..

A Brigadesman quickly ran up to the wall next to the door, and put a block of Corporation issue C12 on it. Made for forced entry, this plastic explosive had much more destructive power than it's cousin C4..

A massive explosion ripped through the night, tearing the door off it's hinges. The Brigadesmen immediately started throwing grenades, one round of smoke, one round of tear, one round of frag.

On the roof, the Panther Brigade silently moved down, and they attached themselves to the wall where they knew Deus' bedroom was. With a mighty kick, they broke down the window and entered the room.

He wasn't there..

Brookstone Press Briefing Room
Reagansburg, Juumasia, Juumanistra

A press conference had been hurriedly called amidst a booming news cycle, with reports of fires in Yurkan Skiberdeenia and stories of Skiberdeenian Home Guardists being given their mobilization orders. Calls had also bombarded Brookstone, Juumanistra’s military headquarters, about thousands of more deployment orders being issued to Juumanistran regulars as well as the confirmed redeployment of the carrier Naxos, which had just returned from a full tour. It was into this maelstrom that Brookstone briefer, a civil affairs captain, walked into.

“I’m sure that all of you have a great many questions, I’d like to present what, precisely, the Juumanistran armed forces know about the situation in Skiberdeenia before taking any questions. I hope that will clear up at least some of your confusion before I start taking questions.”

“At 0723 JST, Juumanistran high altitude reconnaissance unmanned vehicles, in conjunction with reconnaissance satellites, confirmed the readying of fourteen aircraft at a small airfield near the Whyatican frontier, used for what we can only assume are clandestine purposes given the minimal volume of activity coming and going from the facility until today. The craft bear a striking resemblance to the export model of the Juumanistran Ne-41, as well as bearing the five-petaled insignia of the Air Force. The only conclusion that we have reached is that these craft were intended by Whyatica to be portrayed as Juumanistran, save for the fact them on the ground.”

“As launching, the fourteen fighters were tracked by Juumanistran airborne command and control elements, including Fu-47s, Helios AWACS, and Loki interceptors. In addition it was also tracked by ground control at Brownard International and Rickards Air Base in Cassicatus. All told, three-hundred individual sightings and trackings have been confirmed of the aircraft in question, all on the Whyatican side of the border. In addition, the aircraft demonstrated performance qualities unique to themselves, matching nothing in Juumanistra’s active service or available through her export market.”

“While contact was lost with most units, Helios AWACS continued to track them to their destination over Preta, where they commenced raiding operations. To the latest of our knowledge, they have since been chased off by Yurkan interceptors. We will alert you to any developments in this regard, but one thing can be made perfectly clear: Juumanistra is as outraged by this brazen act of aggression as the victims of Yurka and intends to do all in her power to bring those responsible to justice.”

“I know you’ve all heard the stories of a mobilization of the Skiberdeenian Home Guard. Yes, the President sent the order out approximately two hours ago for the full and immediate mobilization of the Home Guard in response to what appears to be a Whyatican attempt to frame Juumanistra for Whyatica’s brazen attack on Yurka. In addition, the President has ordered additional reinforcements sent to the region to bolster the defenses of Skiberdeenia in the face of an increasingly militant Whyatica.”
“Now, are there any questions?”

And, with that, the room erupted in a flurry of shouting and yelling to get the captain’s attention…

40,000 feet above the Juuman-Yurkan-Whyatican border, Juumanistran frontier

A flight of two No-34Z Lokis cruised along the shared trinational border, her massive internal radar array actively scanning the skies around her. Most of the 12th Interceptor Air Corps had patrolling the frontier for weeks, but tonight was different. They’d been ordered to scramble once it had become clear what was happening. Their charge was simple: Ensure the Whyatican raiders didn’t escape.

The AAGM.25 Thatcher, developed as a result of the Air Force’s intimate work with the MTAAM-3 during the IADF’s Common Alliance Single-Engine Fighter program, gave the Lokis a killing range of a hundred and fifty miles. Coupled with the massive radar arrays in their gullets, they could see twice that far, making them ideal for the kind of cross-border shootout that might be required.

And the raiders had just appeared at the edge of their range, heading full-throttle for the border.

“Unidentified hostile craft,” the flight’s lead aircraft radioed, “you have been tracked by airborne and ground-based tracking on your glorious little romp, from that field in Whyatica to your wanton strike on Preta. We know that you are Whyatican regulars and you are ordered to stand down. You’ve really only got two choices from here: Either surrender yourselves, either to the Remarkably Sane Dominion of Juumanistra or the Eternal Empire of Yurka, or be blown out of the sky. You will not be allowed to leave Yurkan air space.”

“Repeat, will not be allowed to leave Yurkan air space…”

The armoured brigade landed at Rougíers within two days, and the men were immediately deployed by truck to the border. Their equipment, including one hundred Arca. I Cougars, and around thirty of the newly designed SPAA-1s, landed the very next day by means of the massive Be-23 transport aircraft, and these were deployed by rail to the frontlines. Die Slowaken landed earlier than suspected, and immediately deployed for the front, using their allotment of SOV-6 infantry fighting vehicles. Finally, the 14th and 15th Waffen-SS Panzergrenadier Divisions landed in conjunction with Unmberspeenk and Flarunjar, the two armoured divisions. These were deployed along the Yurkan colonial border as well, bringing total main armour to around five hundred Cougars, and total personnel levels to around 14,000 combat soldiers. The obviously underpowered frontlines were bolstered by the somewhat large number of aircraft, and the foward deployed units of Valkyries, the new secret super weapon of the Empire, which although small, packed quite a punch. In other words, the Empire was relying on its mobility and training to gain local superiority over the larger amounts of Yurkan personnel. All in all, the Empire was not looking foward to holding the border, unless Juumanistra was able to place massive amounts of static infantry in the area, allowing the Empire to shift the little weight it had where it was most needed. Fortunately, Fedor had sense the certain peril at that front, and had issued the little use Waffen-SS to put most of what it had in the Skiberdeenian colonies, including the 6th and 7th Waffen-SS Panzergrenadier Divisions, and the 37th and 38th Waffen-SS Panzer Divisions, or another four hundred Cougars, bringing total numbers to just under one thousand vehicles. The Waffen-SS would also form another three armoured brigades, bringing total armoured value to around 1,350 Cougars; these armoured brigades would be formed from two Waffen-SS Special Operations Regiments, from soldiers who were patriots of Brandouneia, Novikov, Upper Xen, Dostanuot Loj and Kaldoreia. The 2nd Waffen-SS Air Assault Group would also be send, and the full deployment would be completed within the week, using all the Empire could muster to transfer these men as fast possible.

All the while, Fedala was stirring, ready to exert as much political pressure as possible. The truth be told, Fedala was looking for as much war as they could get, as the colonial victory a few months ago had certainly not been enough to persuade the people that Fedor would be the victorious outcome of the War of Golden Succession. That said they were looking for another victory, and it was unfortunate that Yurka and Whyatica had to pick this time to invade Juumanistra, because it was the time when the Empire was most willing to spread troops around to complete another martial victory against two nations that had almost equal capabilities, and numerical superiority. In other words, Yurka and Whyatica would fall victim to the need for propaganda, and they would become victim to the military machine of the Empire. Despite the fact that the Juumanistran military had more or less deciphered the poorly thrown together cassus belli, the Yurkans and the Whyaticans would be pulled into the war anyways.

Civitas America Navy HQ, Neuhausburg

If one were to travel down Charlie corridor on the fifth floor, and look into room C34, they'd be rather surprised at the room. In it was a small group of men, doing nothing but watching news channels.

Lazily tipping back in his chair, Petty Officer Fitzgibbons suddenly crashed to the ground, sparking a round of laughter.

"Smooth Fitzgibbons," jibed one of his fellow petty officers as they enjoyed a respite from their rather boring jobs. As he stood back up, carefully pretending that no such injury to his dignity or rump had occurred, his commander, Ensign Anton Palovavich knocked and entered.

"Anything new on the situation in Juumanistra's colony?" he asked. Naval intelligence had noted the recent buildup of forces by all sides and, in an effort to demonstrate that military intelligence wasn't an oxymoron, had concluded that a war was brewing. Ensign Palovavich and the petty officers had been assigned to keeping track of the latest developments.

"Actually, yes, we do sir, if you'll look at the TV right over there," said Fitzgibbons, pressing play on a VCR and incidentally taking the opportunity to keep his boss distracted from why precisely his chair was on the ground.

"This is Mark O'Neill with GBC News, and we have with us incredible footage. Just a little while ago, the Yurkan city of Preta was attacked by forces that have yet to be identified. We have managed to obtain this footage of the attack, captured by a wedding photographer." While the tape went on, Fitzgibbons simply muted it, it was just the normal scenes of death and destruction that accompanied war.

"Hmm, that's not exactly good. I think this bears bumping up."

Neuhausburg Naval Air Station, Runway 15L

As the fully loaded PB12G Magni accelerated down the strip, the noise was literally deafening. Eight massive engines with 16 propellers moved the beast through the air. Filled with nearly two hundred anti-shipping missiles and powered by a nuclear reactor, the Magni, along with the other 35 aircraft in its regiment, began the long flight towards what looked very much like a developing warzone. Civitas Americae was still at peace with all involved, but if that were to change, the Navy wanted to be prepared.

The Yurkan Border 0200...

“The Roots of Violence: Wealth without work, Pleasure without conscience, Knowledge without character, Commerce without morality, Science without humanity, Worship without sacrifice, Politics without principles” - Mahatma Gandhi

Juumanistra had foiled the Whyatican plan, and the cassus belli teetered on the edge of dismantling the entire invasion plan of Whyatica and Yurka. With the quick deployments of mechanized forces to either border it seemed as if the prospect for victory diminished with every passing day from the perspective of Yurka and her ally, and therefore, with every passing day the respective governments would look that much harder for a way out of what would become a political quagmire. On the other hand, the Empire needed a victory, for the war against the Havenic hordes had still not switched in momentum, and a victory elsewhere, one that could supplement the victory at the Nestor, and would become an appliqué story to the previous successes against Jagada, would overwhelm the people with good news, returning popular support to Fedor I. Yurka and Whyatica had set the scene up so that the Empire could best take advantage of the situation, and even if they attempted to unravel this into a pieceful ending, Fedala would make sure that the task was not easy, and would turn the wheels of war ever so slightly. Provocation, in fact, was the root of most cassus belli. To that end, the single squadron of prototype GF-12 Valkyries slowly approached the Yurkan border, keeping low, and out of radar by blending in with ground static, and using the largely radar transparent modular construction of the airframe. The four Icycle mini missiles were stored within the bowels of the beast, and silently the twelve unmanned aerial combat vehicles approached their prey.

Overhead, outside the atmosphere, a single reconnaissance satellite passed over the colonies, using the awsome power of the Hercules telescopes to focus in on the front, finding targets for the Valkyries to target. The Yurkan military had comitted itself to 'military exercises' near the border, establishing the fact that they were preparing for possible action. However, it also meant that there would be ample targets displayed through the means of tank parks, where the armour would be stored until the exercises resumed the next day. The large satellite took detailed sensory images of these, and processed them to the UCAV command at the origin airfield. From there, the Valkyries would be guided, and the attack would commence. Below, one could see a battalion of Arca. I Cougar Ausva. A main battle tanks, soon to become heavy battle tanks with the release of the Ausva. C, entrenched, preparing for the possible invasion - they had been fine tuned to fight a very mobile war, trading space for casualties. There was no way in which the Empire and her Juumanistran allies could hope to fight Yurka on equal numerical terms, but the Macabee personnel in the area made up for it in mobility, training and capability.

By 0220 the UCAVs have passed over the border, lowering altitude. Tactical search radars would not be able to find them for a while, but not even the skin of the airframe would save the Valkyries if they got too close to a mobile or even fixed tactical radar site. From a range of around 2.3 kilometers they released the four Icycles each; the missiles free fell for about two meters, and then the rocket boosters snapped, propelling the tiny anti-tank missiles - somewhat smaller than the Hellfire - at great velocities. The missiles pierced through the night sky without remorce, dropping to right over the treetops, and then set off a small light which noted the break off of the head of the missile. The electronics section pummeled into the Earth, where it would be destroyed by the kinetic energy of the impact, and forty submunitions free fell from each missile's inner canister. The submunitions would hit the roof of the parked tanks, using a self-forging warhead to penetration around 177mm of actual thickness armour, giving the submunitions incredibly power.

As quickly as they had come, the Valkyries banked, turned around, and returned to base, as the missiles were still streaking through the lower atmosphere, leaving a trail of bright red and light grey behind them, giving some sort of surreal artistic combination to the black backdrop behind them. The UCAVs had delivered the first strike of the war, mostly to test their potential, and how events would flower from here was hard to tell, but there was no doubt that war was very close now - perhaps inevitable. That same night the sky was colored by a myriad of tints as batteries of the heavy G36 240mm mortars pounded Yurkan infantry positions just opposite of the border, while the mechanized troops began to rearrange themselves to avoid being targetted by Yurkan artillery the in counter-battery fire - the Yurkans had no doubt done a reconnaissance in force by air, ground and space, and so it would be unbelievably safer to exchange positions to avoid having the Yurkans striking from collected intelligence. But, within thirty minutes the front fell silent and the self-propelled mortars seeped back into rear battery formations. The first sparks had flown, not it was time to see if they would catch fire.

OOC: Honestly Macabees, theres no real way you would know it was preplanned, at least with Yurka. Such a thing wouldn't make much sense. Obviously though, if one were to prove that Juumanistran had nothing to do with it, Yurka wouldn't move forward anyways. PR and such. Not to mention most of the soldiers there are basically new recruits from the military schools, aged fourteenish.

Gone for a few days and all hell breaks loose. Honestly though, if I see Macabee's troops firing at the Whyatican planes I'm going to pass out due to the amount of time all of the movements would have taken place.

I'll have troop statistics in awhile. Though I doubt they'll be needed with the fact that the aerial assault was botched up so badly. ;)

IC: Estate of Chairman Deus

The guards were quickly torn apart by the series of explosions and grenades, leaving two large bloody lumps of flesh where they once stood. Along with this was a convulsing guard who was nearby, going through death throes as a large amount of shrapnel was imbedded in his face and brain. The remaining guards, wherever they were, were nowhere to be seen.

The third and second floors were quiet, as three of the remaining five guards were standing outside of a large side room, firing at any door that opened with high caliber assault rifles. They were buying time for the Chairman and his family to get to the bunker in the hidden basement, which would be able to withhold anything that could be thrown at them. If they could take a few more Juumanistran bastards down, all the better.

"Gah... My leg..." The chairman muttered as he was led down the staircase, the two guards remaining behind, hiding just out of view. One was holding a large serated sword, the other a small belt loaded with grenades of all types, "What about my girls?"

"Chairman... They're already down there. Now go..." The guard with the serated sword whispered, sweat dripping from his forehead, "It won't do any of us any good if you remain up here... Jarad... Get us a bit more time."

"Lets hope Ariz and the others can trick them first. Now shhh... The gunfire at the front is dying down. If they come closer I'll frag em."

The chairman looked up at the two men, rubbing his beard in regret as he left them presumably to die on his way down the staircase. It would be hard to catch him now, especially if they managed to get tricked by the guards outside of the secure room on the second floor. Perhaps the fact that all the firing was on the second floor would make it look like he couldn't get to the basement?

"Just what the hell is going on?"

Skies over Yurkan Colony

"This is Squad Leader Yzak... I have visual!" The Squad leader shouted over the radio as the two dozen fighters behind quickly reported back, "Alright! Don't let any of the bastards escape!"

With that, the first of a long series of missiles were fired from the Vanguards, as they quickly spread out and swerved, preparing to go into dogfights if the need appeared.

Obviously such an attack will only make it look like the Macabees was involved with Whyatica, once we get wind from Juumanistran's military intelligence that they were from there. As said in the post, Fedala doesn't really care who's fault it is - it's just looking for a brawl. But, there's no real way you can pin the air strikes on me, especially since you have no evidence of my nation production Juumanistran aircraft, and especially since there is such a wide array of Juumanistran evidence that saw the aircraft fly from Whyatica and back to Whyatica. In the end, you would have to place blame on Whyatica, Juumanistra and myself, not just me. And I thought you were carrying out exercises near the border? That's pretty 'foward' if you ask me.]

The expert Panther Brigades continued to advance through the foyer, shooting at any enemy guard found alive through the smoke of the grenades. They knew the Chairman would not be in an unprotected room, so they swept the first floor, looking for basements and hidden entranceways.

They spread into groups of three so they would have all flanks covered, they slowly advanced..

Air Battle, Preta
"Squad leader, more contacts!" a wingsman said as he took several missile impacts and his fighter screamed toward the ground.

"All planes, hit the sprinters and head for Juumanistra!" the squad leader said

The remaining 9 planes fired whatever missiles they had targetted, and immediately pulled a hard turn and headed west to the Juumanistran border..

“No response,” the flight lead grumbled backwards towards his CSO, “contact status?”

“Bogies are accelerating, with a course and heading that will take them over the border,” his CSO responded, “firing solution on lead bandits confirmed, they will be in firing range…now.”

“Command, Command, this is Bravo One,” the flight leader switched to the secure uplink to his flight controllers at Rickens AFB, “bandits have not responded to warnings and are approaching the border and are accelerating. Requesting permission to engage, please advise.”

“Bravo One, this is Command,” came the reply from the other end, “if warnings to surrender have been disregarded, you have permission to engage with as much force as is required to prevent the hostiles from breeching the border.”

“Confirmed,” the flight said, cycling through his weapons until he came to the lead AAGM.25 in his weapons bay, “engaging.”

The aircraft shuddered as the first of the missiles was ejected from the weapons way and sent under way.

*=*=*=*=*

Across a twenty-mile stretch of sky, the rest of 32nd Missileer Squadron of the 11th Interceptor Corps followed a similar course as Bravo One: Firing a single AAGM.25 at a designated raider. The twelve aircraft put twelve missiles in the air, with each of the enemies being painted for one, with the lead three raiders painted with two. And they readied a second salvo, should some or even all of the raiders evade the first…

"It seems Juumanstran and her allies have launched a preemptive strike against our soldiers during the war games." A male silhouette said with a smile as it looked over the group seated, "This is better than we could have hoped. We are in the right gentleman. Two unprovoked attacks, our allies and people will be crying for vengeance at this point."

"Has the Emperor returned?" A female Silhouette asked, looking around, "If not we can simply continue without him. Correct? He wasn't too keen on the idea anyways. Mobilise all forces, we'll pummel Juumanstran's colony into the ground for this. They can't prove any connection between us and Whyatica... They're what, a Republic?"

"Pretty much so, yes. Though they'll probably attempt to cover up the attack and make it look as if we started it. If not we can expect a few protests, such as is common in these situations, hopefully they'll become weary of the war by the time we take a large enough portion of territory. If not, we can nearly double the troops if need be."

"Well have the official Statement Declared. Gather our allies for this one. Our alliances are defensive are they not?" Another male silhouette said, with a voice oozing with satisfaction, "Excellent, we didn't need to go through all the trouble. We might need to go to war with Whyatica however, at least to cover ourselves. We shall concentrate on Juumanistran though... Though we shall keep the defensive forces near Truitt just in case."

"Then its settled. Despite some problems, everything is going perfectly. For the glory of Yurka." The woman said with an almost visible smile.

"To the Emperor." They all recited.

As the first of the Panthers approached the basement staircase a small red and white rounded grenade was quickly tossed forward, exploding as it hit the ceiling near them with a large white cloud of fire. It was a highly dangerous form of airborn White Phosphorous, capable of eating through metals, along with anything else it came in contact with. As soon as it exploded a hail of high caliber rounds were fired from the doorway as it shut and the two men rushed downward before the grenade's gasses could affect them.

Chairman Deus was already putting in the access code when they appeared next to him, facing the hallway leading up to the stairs. Hopefully the gas would surprise them, and one of the guards quickly pulled out a small radio...

"Alright. Subject secured. Go down to the stairs." The soldier said quietly before turning it off and leaping to the side of the door in preparation.

---2nd Floor---

"Alright! You heard him! Go! Go! Go!" The leader of the five men taking shelter on the second floor shouted as he quickly donned the only pair of bodyarmour and kicked open the door as the four men leapt out behind him in a hail of gunfire in the direction of the stairs, "Lets get down there!"

Aerial Battle; Near Border

The Vanguards quickly moved out of the way as the missiles slammed towards them, one of them hit on a wing as it spiralled to the ground below, the pilot quickly ejecting. A second was also hit, though in the cockpit as it crashed downward, though the fact that the enemy was facing away from them worked in their favor for dodging the rest of the weaponry.

"Yzak to control... We've got bogeys over the border to Juumanistran! They're firing! Everyone, take evasive action just in case!" The man shouted as they quickly fired off their remaining missiles at the enemy and dived, breaking away from the combat for the time being.

Wargame Camp 1-27 C; Yurka/Juumanistran Border

The Camp was dark from the morning drills and exercises, as the attack from what had been declared either Whyatican or Juumanistran had made everyone cautious, especially with the mobilising of forces across the borders. Despite what had happened, they were able to receive clear images from Banduria that the planes did, in fact, leave from a Whyatican airfield. Though for now the soldiers were ordered to more or less continue the drills, just in case. Though they highly doubted any large scale attacks on the million troops positioned all along the north and north west. The rest were within the nation's interior preparing, or in the naval force. Any remaining ones were along the Truitt Border.

"Zaede... What do you think about this crap with the Juumanistrans and Whyaticans?" One of the soldiers mumbled under her sheet as she stared at her fellow soldier on the military cot at her side. They had been training the recruits for awhile now, but everyone was becoming edgy as war seemed to begin looming closer, "Think they're working together against the Empire? Damn foreigners..."

"Whoevers responsible will pay for it. For every Yurkan killed in Preta we'll take out a thousand of their soldiers. Don't worry about it, our infantry are the best. We're one of the best equipped in the world. Just in case of an attack we've already been issued live ammo and combat armours."

"Eh, you're probably right..." She said with a sigh as she shut her eyes and went back to sleep before the first of the missiles hit the large encampment...

All in all, the missiles took out a large portion of one of the denser encampments at Camp 1-27 C, along with the lives of several hundred soldiers and expensive, though for the most part not actually combative, vehicles. The fires were put out efficiently within the hour as the survivors were pulled out and the following message of war was sent.

------Message to Juumanistra, Whyatica and her Allies------
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/Kutulmak/Avatar3.jpg

Your utterly barbaric and apprehensible attacks against our colony are almost utterly insane! To think that you would go so far for what we assume are simple territorial rights are mind-boggling. Your latest attack on our military exercises are some of the worst of all! Unlike the attack from Whyatica, which for the most part is still under investigation, satellite images show us clearly that the attack on our infantry were from your colony alone...

The Empire of Yurka has never before backed down from such a potent and despicable threat, and we will not begin now. Your aggressive stances against our innocent people will be paid back in full. The only way for you to save yourselves at this point would be for a full and unconditional surrender, as anything less would be to spit on our precious people lost so far.

You have precisely twenty four hours to respond to this before we begin exercising our right to defend ourselves.

New Dublin

Acting President Thomas O'Daniels paced back and forth, jaw clenched he studied the map before him each time he faced south bound.

He did not speak for several minutes and over the years he had stood in the presidential office his overall disposition had gone from dark, to dark and bitter.

The man who had once been a youthfully faced commander aiding Gothenberg forces on the ground. Was now a gray haird stone face standing in a war room.

His did not wear suits, but his uniform, he had been a general before assuming this office.

A man who commanded from the front and expected from his men only what he was capable of, and did expect that of every man.

The Skibereenian uniform was without pomp and lacked typical audacity of rank.

They were not even equal to the dress uniforms of most other militaries, pressed BDUs, combat ribbons, the golden harps on his lapels, and cuffs, and three golden stars on each shoulder.

'General Thomas O'Daniels, retired, oh by the way, I'm president.'

"Busy bees we have out in the field." He finally spoke and his adjunct relaxed a bit.

"Indeed they are sir, do you suggest intervention?" Preisdential Military Adjunct Major Ogaba Moriarity stood in stark contrast to O'Daniels.

Where O'Daniels was a man of average height and slight build, where Major Moriarity was head and shoulders taller then O'Daniels and thick like a great oak tree.

O'Daniels heritage was obviously Irish, while the Major's was obvioulsy African,
However in Skibereen O'Daniels had a reputation of being a ferocious man, even though that is many years removed the whites of Skibereen are not known for cool headedness.

Lesser officers had been known to shoot at adjuncts with distressing news, and to O'Dnaiels as of late, everything seemed to distress him.

"I am not certain, I've watched these nations spring up colonies, I knew with the Macabees there was always a chance of conflict once so many nations gathered round.
I am looking at the players in our region Ogaba, Spiz has a multitrillion dollar deal with FallCorp, no reason to worry about them.

Truitt, I have not really had time for a cultural investigation, I have not had time to examine intelligence..." Ogaba cut off O'Daniels

"Sir there are any number of men who can..."

"Bah! That means nothing. Pencil pushers and desk jockeys good at their tasks but they have no insight......I need to know, I need to check, I make the choices, so it must be me based on I."

"Yes, Sir."

"I dont know, and it really doesnt matter. I need to maintain healthy relations with Spizania because we have investments with them, I have to maintain healthy relations with Macabees for technilogical reasons, and Doom because we are on their border.

The rest, well, we need to get ready for a lot of attention in the region."

"How would you have that done?" The man insisted that no detail be not left to him. The Red Hand was one of the most capable and combat experienced militaries in the region if not the world. This man would be a sad state of a man was fast moving towards a burnout if it wasnt for the fact he had been maintaining this pace for the last ten years.

"Inform OSP to be on alert, I want San Patris to be eyes in the sky and combat patrol along our space.

Tell the priests if any craft are shot at over Hibernia I will personally oversee the fire bombing of San Patris, and tell them I said it just like that.

I want Jotunheim on high alert, and all forces with in brought ot battle ready status, I want the IFAF to begin provisions for deployment and I want the SDF deployed, yesterday."
He looked to the map again.

"Yes, sir"

"You know Ogaba Boru is out there somewhere." O'Daniels stared as if he might make the ghost he spoke of materialize.

"Sir, President Boru has been gone over ten years, and it is almost impossible he would have survived the collapse of the Ferrusians and occupation forces ofthe relative governments. Not to mention he would be nearing eighty years old. Sir, he is dead." Ogaba was geniunely sorry for the man, he had been close with the former president serving in similar units during the close of the Great Troubles, Boru had practically raised O'Daniels, and most didnt know that.

"Ogaba, you can go now." The words were cold as ice, there was no venom merely grim death. O'Daniels was on the brink, or perhaps already down in the abyss.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

AWACS, and escort aircraft left from San Patris within 92 minutes of Ogaba leaving the office ofthe president.

They would patrol the North along maritime claims of Skibereen, and they would be as quick to engage a target as any other trigger happy Skib.

In the South, Jotunheim was activated.
The Naval headquaters for the nation.
Utgard was sealed and several dozen patrol craft left from the main base.

Two revelation class SDs floated out into the channel between Tara and Jotunheim, and third moved South of the Island while escorts mulled around the large vessels.

All in all 74 surface combatants were put out to sea.

With Jotunheim on High Alert Subs had actually been the first thing launched, 15 from the massive underwater concrete havens along Jotunheim cliffs.

Five raider packs to go on patrol, O'Daniels, unlike Boru was not in command of a Skibereen that had to resort to tricks to defend herself--Boru had a set in motion a very effective military industrial complex which had consumed no less then five nations.

Where Boru used guile, O'Daniels was going to use a hammer.
The world could burn as long as it touched not a singal shore of the Isles.

Official Response to Yurka

Our allies, let me offer the sincerest apolgies to you. When the alliance with your nation was announced, a rogue fighter captain who sympathized with Juumanistra defected.

He bribed the air command officials to keep the detection systems quiet and for nobody to notice a thing. His 13 wingmen were in on the plot from the very beginning, in fact, it was a wing member who originally hatched the plot.

We have captured these air command officials who accepted the bribes, and we ask you if you wish us to extradite these men to your nation. If you do not, they will be executed within the next two or three days. The Democratic Sultanate will pay reparations to your nation for the destruction and death this rebel captain caused to your colony.

The surprise White Phosphorous attack chewed through the armour of a Panther Brigadesman and burned him alive. Through the intense pain of the attack, he continued to advance until he died.

The Panther Brigades hung back around a corner, and they each threw several fragmentation grenades around the corner, hoping to catch Chairman Deus with some shrapnel. They also threw tear gas grenades, aiming to incapacitate anyone who wasn't killed.

Air Battle

"New bogeys from the Juumanistran borders!" a wingman said, as he was engulfed in the flame of a missile strike.

"Damnit! Everyone pull a U-ey and unload everything on the Yurkans!"

The 7 remaining planes pulled a tight u-turn and unloaded the small amount of missiles and gatling gun ammunition they had on the pursuing Yurkan planes. They were being bombarded from both sides, and the best thing they could hope for would be Juumanistra and Yurka fighting in the air..

Whyatican High Command
"Juumanistra has far too many allies for our current colonial force to take on alone, even with the Eternal Empire." a High General pointed out.

"Send three more Battalions into the Northern Colony, and also send the 4th Battlefleet." Sultan Khan Whyatica said calmly.

"That is three million soldiers...And 750 ships...Are you sure, Sultan?"

"Yes. We will crush the Juumanistrans along with our allies..And there will be no more screwups like with the air strike, understand me? I had to cover our asses with that one, we nearly went to war with Yurka over it.."

"Yes, Sultan." the room resounded.

"Also, on second thought, siphon off some money from the Protectorate. We'll need some extra funds on hand to finance this operation. Begin drafting a new Zenti military, and send some squadrons down there to begin Capitol Police construction. Set up a command relay station in Zenti, and equip all of their leaders with Secret Police escorts and command relay hookups."

"Yes, Sultan." the room resounded again as Generals went to consoles to relay orders. An international message was broadcast, stating simply that for it's own protection, the Whyatican military presence in the Northern Colony (Commonly referred to as Whyatican Skiberdeenia by some civilians) will be increased by 250% over the next two and a half months.

Fort Nassei Shipyards
The mighty 4th Battlefleet, seven hundred fifty massive ships, sat in the Fort Nassei harbour, with engineers roaming across every ship, making every ship combat ready within hours. They had to leave the Fort Nassei shipyards within six hours, escorting 300 heavy transport cruisers to a Yurkan port, where from they would end up in the Whyatican Northern Colony.

The first wave of landings were to consist of 500,000 soldiers, spread across 300 troop ships. The whole mobilization would take a huge amount of time, although the whole mobilization is just to scare off any possible invaders of the colony.

They left, a 4 day journey ahead of them, the Grand Admiral in charge of the operation calm and cool. He knew that nobody would be stupid enough to raid his fleet, after all, it was over 1,300 ships..
Civitas Americae

Civitas America Navy HQ, Neuhausburg

Grand Admiral Johannes Schönborn was not a happy man. The situation in Juumanistra's Skibeerian colonies was steadily deteriorating, and now he had this news.

"So you're telling me that Whyatica has begun shipping over three million men to the warzone?" he asked as the young lieutenant finished his briefing.

Swallowing nervously, the officer nodded his head in confirmation. "Yes, sir. It looks like a hasty mobilization, no more than a few hours to prepare for it. They've just put a fleet out to sea, approximately a thousand warships escorting three hundred transports. ONI is estimating no more than 6 days until they arrive at their destination."

"Very well. Start drafting orders for a strike by the Magnis, and get the Air Force to cough up tankers along with the Organized Militia. I want them to send F-20 Vipers for escort. If we knock out this transport fleet, we can stop this from turning into a much larger fight."

The F-20's were a descendent of the F-12 Blackbird fighters that had originally composed Civitas Americae air defense. Their journey would be a long and boring one, with multiple air refuelings, stretching to nearly three and a half hours. It'd be far longer for the crews of the subsonic Magnis however.

4 hours after the Whyatican fleet departed base

Across Civitas Americae, two hundred large Magni bombers lifted off, beginning the long thirteen hour journey to their interception point. Along with the bombers, each carrying ten anti-shipping ballistic missiles in their cavernous bomb bays, hundreds of tanker variants lifted off, to refuel the escorting Vipers. The Vipers would meet their charges 1,400 miles distant from the target and escort them in to within 800 miles, at which point they would launch their ALBMs at the transports.

Elsewhere, nearly eight hundred Tu-160 Blackjacks lifted off. They would not be escorted, as their missiles would be launched over 1,500 miles away from their targets. Each of the more than nine thousand missiles aboard them carried a Mark 8 naval mine and its five hundred pound warhead. Even if the fleet did survive to reach its colonial destination, it would find its ports unuseable.

Grand Admiral Schönborn glared at the lieutenant as he entered. It was not a happy look. Since the strike wasn't going to intercept the Whyatican fleet for another few hours, this probably wasn't news about that strike, and hence was not a welcome intrusion.

"Let me guess: Some one else has decided to throw their hat into the ring."

Sighing, the lieutenant nodded. "We believe so sir. Satellite recon has detected the Holy Indomitable Imperium of Banduria mobilizing troops and ships for departure, and they are known to be allies of Yurka."

Why me God? thought Schönborn as he stared at the ceiling. We just finished building up the seventh thousand ship navy, and now this. Oh, of course.

"Lieutenant, draft immediate orders for all Hanslein-class and Gödeke Michels-class minelayers to fill up and transit. There's a strait that they'll need to pass through, the Strait of Hilmaner. I want that mined like no tomorrow because there won't be one for Juumanistra's colony otherwise. The Thirty Third, Twenty Second, Seventh, and Fourtieth Carrier Battle Groups are near the area, detail them to protect the mine layers."

"Yes sir, right away!"

ETA for minelaying: 3 days, and one day of laying.
127 Hanslein-class ships and 68 Gödeke Michels-class minelaying subs are being deployed with essentially about 50,000 mines, and another 50,000 aboard resupply ships. Mines are magnetic and pressure fuzed, and are a mix of anti-SD, anti-sub, and normal mines. With the CBGs are twelve Civitas Americae-class carriers and 270 smaller escorts.

Admiral Mancuso was thinking of the secure comm he had recieved from Headquaters, his orders were to take all seven hundred combat ships at the disposal of the 4th and 5th fleets and sail to inderdict the passage of Whyatican naval forces inbound to reinforce thier hugely expanding presence in the region, he was to line up in the way of the enemy armada and if possible attempt to halt their progress long enough for the 6th Fleet to rush out of thier bases in the other major Spizanian colonial holdings and come to the Whyaticans aid. All available strength of the Skibereenian Ground Force command was on the Whyatican border, numbering a full forty divisions. It was as a mighty force as the Confederate Military had ever mustered.

As his ships moved into posistion and stopped their main props, he went to his conference room for a last minute video-link meeting with his squadron commanders.

OOC: It's the Kh-555, a RL Russian missile, I've simply put in a different warhead. Also, the 800 Tu-160s are launching mine carrying cruise missiles towards Yurka's ports (since you don't have ports there) while the 200 PB12G Magnis are attacking your fleet, specifically the transports, but they'll launch their missiles at anything. Those missiles only have a range of 1000 miles, they're based on the US Skybolt air launched ballistic missile

Sure, if you don't have the range to try for an intercept on the bombers going after your ships (though they do have a hefty fighter escort).

OOC: For the sake of moving the thing along... Deus was killed in the attack, and more or less most of the attackers managed to evade capture, and nothing was garnered from the corpses. Attacking my port without provocation will only lead to a full scale attack on your colony or, in this case, your entire nation. Mind you for now I won't spread myself that thin, but you can more or less expect a full and unmerciful invasion.

Now when you look at my low amount of lost things, you should note that you're attacking from very far away, giving me more than enough time to paint the missiles or just fire wildly into them. You would probably need to move in close to do some significant damage.

Official Imperial Responde to Banduria (Heavily Encryped)

We thank you in advance for your help during these trying times against the ruthless invaders of Juumanistran and her foul allies. With such a powerful addition to our already strong force of over two million soldiers in the colony victory against this disgusting scourge is surely at hand. The nation of Whyatica is also paying reparations to us, but as of yet we are keeping a wary eye on them, to be on the safer side of things.

Please feel free to use our ports, surplus logistics and supply depots, and anything else we can offer you during this time of war. We will more than likely also pay you back for your service once this war finally ends, so take heart in the fact that your being here will not be for nought.

For the sake of our Honor,

"Sir Altredeis! We have missiles incoming! Our recon submarines detected them within range!" A young man shouted as he rushed into the room, immediately breaking into a full bow, "They're not from Whyatica or Juumanistran!"

"What?! Well this is unexpected..." Commander Altredies Vento (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/Kutulmak/Lans.jpg) muttered as he quickly whipped out the communicator, "Its as we expected! An attack, not Whyatican or Juumanistra! Intercept as many as you can! Inform the naval forces! I don't want the Super Dreadnaughts damaged!"

"S-sir! I've already informed the Air Forces of this. They should be sending out one third of the air fleet should they come any closer." The man whispered, raising his head at the commander, "Shouldn't we go to the shelter?"

"Excellent... And no, you can though if you want. I'm no coward." The commander said with a smile as he stared out the window, his single eye wincing against the sun, "In fact, you probably should. Inform the troops I'll be down after the missiles strike."

"B-but sir!" He whispered, before getting up and rushing down the hall, knowing better than to waste time questioning such a stubborn man.

-------------------------------------

The nearly two thousand anti-ballistic missile bays along the nearby coastline, which were already prepared to launch at the Whyaticans should they attempt anything at port, quickly began to fire off into the skies, viciously streaking outward to intercept the enemies missiles. As the impacted far over the ocean, a fair enough number made it past and came crashing forward at the naval forces at the port, which responded by launching their own anti-missile arrays. However, even this nearly impenetrable defense had a few errant missiles pass through it, and these promptly sunk a Super Carrier and ten frigates which were farther out from the port.

Whyatican Fleet
"Grand Admiral, Mimirs report Spizanian fleet in between us and the Yurkans. Also, they detect a massive missile strike from an aerial fleet landing in the waters around the Yurkan port. We don't know who launched the assault or to what end the attack caused. However, we should be cautious coming up to the Yurkan port."

"Yes, yes..Send a message to the Spizanians.." the Grand Admiral said to his underling with a wave of his hand.

Message to Spizanian Fleet
We request that you move out of our way, as our Yurkan allies have been aggressively attacked by Juumanistra and her allies and we are moving to assist Yurka and reinforce the Whyatican forces in our colony. We have no aggressive intentions at this time, but further provocation will result in war.

Grand Admiral Ali-Khan Samoud

After the message was entered into the communications console, a red alert broadcast was sent throughout the fleet.

"Grand Admiral! Mimirs report incoming missiles! Range of 800 miles and closing fast!"

The Grand Admiral didn't get a chance to rattle off orders as automated missile defense systems came online and opened fire on the oncoming missiles. Since they were larger than normal missiles, they had a large radar cross section and were very easy to spot on radar. As the missiles soared over the 4 tiers of fleet, they were engaged by more and more missile defense and CIWS batteries. All in all, the majority of the missiles were destroyed, but some still impacted the fleet, destroying 4 Apotheosis cruisers and 9 Mayhem class destroyers. As they exploded, showering debris and sharp metal splinters everywhere, soldiers on the decks of ships ducked for cover behind gun turrets and bulkheads, hoping not to catch any splinters..

"Find out who launched the damn missile strike and send word back to the High Command. Keep the fleet moving, and get us within 75 nautical miles of the Spizanians and then hold position. We don't want to get into a shooting match as of yet. My guess says it was Juumanistra or an ally..But we haven't done anything to provoke them, they attacked Yurka.." Ali-Khan said, mostly musing to himself.

"Grand Admiral, we have an identity for the missile bombers now." the comm officer said eagerly.

"Who?"

"Civitas Americae. The Mimirs tracked an air fleet about eighteen hundred kilometers away, and they appear to be of Civitas Americae origin."

"Send that data to the High Command and to the Yurkan Obelisk. This unprovoked strike won't go unavenged.."

Two massive fleets lay out a few days off in the ocean, not waiting for Skibereen, but coming near.

The decision had at this point been made to put as much of the Navy as possible.

For self defense reasons, they could not allow themselves to be caught in port.

Seven Revelation Class SDs, and Seven Genesis Class DNs now joined cutters and frigates, Destroyers, and Carriers in maritime patrol around Skibereen.

The decision to leave in port most transports was to demonstrate a lack of intent to move troops.

He rebroadcast the first message asking them to stand down and move out of the way, and looked at the Grand Admiral impatiently for orders.

"Send a communication to the Yurkans that we may need their help soon, I believe they have a submarine fleet nearby that could help us. All aircraft are to be at combat readiness now, and all submarines to go to complete combat silence. Get combat UAVs launched and dial into the satellites for targetting information." the Grand Admiral said, pacing on his bridge.

"Oh yes..Ensign, in my quarters is a CD entitled 'The Glenn Miller Orchestra', fetch that and play track number 9 on the same frequency the Spizanians sent their music to us on."

The Ensign looked at Ali-Khan oddly, and said, "Aye, sir." and left to the Grand Admiral's ready room. He came back with the CD, opened up the tray in his computer console, and put the CD in. All across the Spizanian fleet now, they would hear in return, "In The Mood" by the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

"Commander Altredies. It seems our reinforcements from Whyatica have run into a bit of trouble with a fleet from Spizania. We're not sure yet, but it seems they're allying themselves with Juumanistran during this conflict." One of the officers in the room said with a smile, bowing as he tilted his head upwards, "We do have quite a few submarines capable of lending them assistance."

Altredies Vento stared down at the lit up map for a moment, judging the distance of the two fleets before turning back to the young man, "Very well... Have half of our Aguas and S Class Aguas intercept the Spizania fleet from behind. Should they interfere we will wipe them out with anti-shipping missiles. Also, how are those reinforcements from the Czardaian conflict?"

"Ah... Well they're currently still embroiled over there, but we've been assured more than half of them can assist us once this whole mess finishes. Oh, and ready the fighters and bombers, just in case."

"Yes sir!"

With that said, seventy Agua and Eighty Agua S Class Submarines slowly made their way to the Spizania fleet's flank. The S Class would remain at a distance in case they would need to unload their payloads from outside of torpedo range. Should things go wrong, they could also rely on an aerial force from the port city itself.

Questarian Consulate, Port Liberty

'Christ.'

Commodore Matsuo Taiki slapped the satellite photos of the Bandurian, Whyatican, and Yurkan fleets down in front of Ambassador Taylor.

'Now do you believe me?'

Taylor sighed, turning away from the table and the angered Naval attache and looked outside the window to the bustling Port Liberty.

'See, the thing is, Matsuo. The thing is, is that people don't want war. Four foreign interventions in the past five months. Our boys don't sign up to fight some war in some other country they've never been to. So, no. I'm sorry, I just can't put in a political alert.'

'Oh.' Matsuo said, dissapointed. 'Then I will do it.'

Taylor snorted. 'You can't do anything without my approval.'

'Actually, I can.' Taylor did not see it, but Matsuo was looking pretty smug. 'According to Article B Subsection A, Rights of the Consulate, a naval attache can remove an ambassador from his or her position if necessary.'

Taylor turned around sharply. 'It's not necessary though. This isn't the Defense of Sovereignty Act, it's a foreign colony. We have no claim to it.'

'I've lived here for three years. I've also seen countries like Yurka, Whyatica, and Banduria. Damnit, Jen, I’m not just going to sit and stand idly by while these maniacs impose their rule on good countries.’

‘Is it worth it Matsuo?’ she looked down at the floor and back up at the Commodore. ‘Is it worth all those lives?’

Matsuo shrugged. ‘Juumanistra today. What other democracies will follow? I joined the military to secure a future for my country, for my home. If that means defending other countries to stop principles like Banduria’s spreading, then my life is one spent. I’m going to my men, to my ship. If you want to keep you career, I suggest you contact the Foreign Office.’

Battlecruiser Patrol Squadron 'Genesis', HMS Broadsword

Matsuo nodded to his adjutant as he stepped onboard the Broadsword. Lined up across the Questarian sector of Port Liberty, the six ships of the Patrol Squadron Genesis were dormant. They looked similar, some minor differences, but they were mostly the same across the three classes. The Broadsword's four dual 450mm turrets marked she was the largest though.

'Crew onboard?'

'All, sir.' The ensign snapped to attention.

'Good.'

The ensign followed Matsuo eagerly to the bridge; only the top commanding staff had been briefed and so there were no rumours. Everyone thought they would be going out on patrol - the crew had no combat experience and this patrol would be their first.

‘CAPTAIN ON BRIDGE!’ the XO shouted, and the entire bridge crew turned and saluted. Matsuo saluted back and took his place on the bridge.

‘Executive Officer, is the rest of the Squadron ready?’

‘Aye sir.’

‘Then bring us about sixteen degrees port and full ahead. Raise the follow flags.’

Slowly but steadily, the Broadsword swung around out of the port. Half an hour later, she was steaming south with the rest of the squadron, and its small respective escorts. Four light frigates to each ship. The Royal Navy only used battlecruisers for their speed: an enviable 38 knots at best, and so only a few of the fastest escorts could go with them.

The gospel rap blared through the speaker system of the bridge, and with a quick flip of a switch, the comm officer turned the drivel off.

"Broadcast the ultimatum one last time," the Grand Admiral said, knowing full well the Spizanians weren't going to move.

"Actually...Scratch that, Ensign..Send an order to the Mayhem class Oslo-A..They're to play chicken with the lead Dreadnaught of that section in the center there. We'll see if they really have the chutzpa." he said.

The Oslo-A, a brand-new Mayhem class destroyer, accelerated to full sprint within a matter of seconds. It hit 45 knots, and changed it's heading to the lead dreadnaught of the fleet. The little Fast Attack Boats would be smart to get out of the way of the destroyer, as they would be chewed up by the destroyer with no effort on it's part. It was expressly ordered not to fire it's guns at anything in it's way, but it was also ordered not to change course under any circumstances. If the Spizanians fired at it, the Whyatican fleet would respond in kind, but if they moved out of the way, the entire fleet would advance..

Giant. The response from the Foreign Office had been that of a magnitude underestimated by anyone already in the theater: three battlegroups (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Questarian_Royal_Navy#Doctrine), based in Scapa Flow, Portsmouth, and Southampton were already mobilising for deployment. The flagship of this, the HMS Howe, led by Fleet Admiral Johnathan Tarrant, was an Admiral class battleship; more famously known as the Hood class, technically the largest battleship in the world.

The heat was on.

STATEMENT OF HM GOVERNMENT
http://www.nationstates.net/images/flags/united_kingdom--53.jpg
AS OF 05th March 2006, Her Majesty's Parliament passed the 'Juumanistra Act'. The Act was passed by the Lords and ratified by Her Majesty the Queen herself.

Therefore, our government proclaims that if we see it fit, if Juumanistra or its theater allies are attacked or provoked to attack, we will retaliate in any way we see fit. We are not warmongers, we are not aggressive. But we will strive to defend democracy and liberty in any case possible, and here, we see it fit to do so.

Satellite imagery has shown massive mobilisations on both side. Intelligence also shows that this was provoked by hostile forces acting against Juumanistra, and therefore we have to warn Yurka and Whyatica that we will retaliate if our ally is attacked.

Juumanistran frontier

The preparations continued apace. As part of the Army's terrain preparation plans, the biggest military construction project in colony's history was undertaken. Tens of millions of miles of razor wire were being strung up along the whole of the frontier, millions more anti-personnel and anti-vehicle mines were being planted in addition to the hundreds of thousands already buried along the frontier, and obstacles for both men and machines were being constructed: Trenches and pits dug, infrastructure rigged for destruction, and improvised earthen fortifications erected.

Further back, at the first defensive line, the greater and lesser fortifications came alive as the mobilized Home Guard took them out of mothballs. Artillery was readied and ammunition brought in the by truckload: Additional towed and self-propelled guns additionally joined the guns of the fixed fortifications in impromptu earthen entrenchments. Earthworks sprung up along the whole of the rough and craggy terrain of the primary defensive line, as infantrymen dug in for the coming invasion. And yet more wire and mines were strewn and laid, adding yet another challenge to invaders, along with the guns of the primary fortifications and the raw roughness of the terrain as the plains of the border gave way to highlands.

The spirits of the Juumanistran defenders was high as they prepared for war: They knew their prayers for peace had fallen on deaf ears.

*=*=*=*=*

The Juumanistran Navy had been slow to respond to evolving situation on the high seas. While the Third Fleet had put to sea immediately following the declaration of a military alliance between Yurka and Whyatica, and had since been joined by the Fifth Fleet on station, they still laid low as the naval showdown between Spizania and Whyatica drew closer. The twin fleets keeping to themselves as greater events unfolded, both at home and abroad...

*=*=*=*=*

Juuman airfields in southern Skiberdeenia were alive with newfound vigor, as they wargamed strikes against moving and fixed targets around the southern coast should the need arise. Pilots were spending more hours than ever in the air, and entire air corps were practicing simultaneous launches, link-ups, and in-flight fuelings. Rumors abounded that their training was in preparation for some super-secret mission, that could affect the whole course of the war that loomed large, perhaps stopping it before it even started.

It was just a rumor, though, spread by anxious pilots who had probably spent too long on heightened alert. There was, after all, no reason to put any stock in it.

The new colonial leader sat back and shrugged as he saw the HM government's message, finding it rather unbelievable that they could say such a thing after Yurka's colony was not only attacked by those rogue Whyatican insurgents, but bombarded from Juumanistran's soil itself! Of course they would publically make such a thing apparent to them through live, public broadcasts of the incident from captures taking from numerous satellites. If they still fought though, the colony would simply have to defend herself against yet another aggressor.

Official Statement from The Eternal Empire to the HM Government
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/Kutulmak/Avatar3.jpg

We find that such an Act is already unnecessary, as Juumanistran had already conducted a bombardment from her very own soil upon our mountain facilities. This, along with her allies setting up blockades, dropping mines in our waters, and threatening to invade at any point are more than justification that we are at most defending ourselves. Let it be known that despite these attacks, the Empire has as of yet not attacked them, and have given them numerous ultimatums.

They have replied to none of them. So we will make sure to send numerous copies of the overwhelming evidence showing that we were attacked by not only Whyatican insurgents, but also Juumanistran's own armed forces! We will not allow such an aggressive warmongering state to remain so close to us unpunished by these malicious actions, as we a re sure no sane nation would.

OOC: The evidence is essentially pictures of the bombardment from Juumanistran, along with satellite imagery and the fact that everything that attacked Yurka came from far over Juumanistran's territorial line.

The ships engines had answered full ahead, and with the control lines to the ships bridge cut, the engines continued to turn dragging the destroyer with it as it accelerated to full speed directly towards Yurkas ports and the Civitas Americae minefield.

The mines, the ships struck a mine at over thirty knots, tearing a huge hole in the port side of the vessel, the ship immediately began to keel over, secondary explosions touching off as 5" shells kept inside their turrets for easy access exploded. The ships started to descend when a 500mm Torpedo was hit by a peice of falling debris in the torpedo armoury room, the weapon detonated, the blast touching off the other torpedoes. The explosion continued outwards, reaching the missile and gun armoury, touching off most of the ships ammuniton.

Unfortunately, before the explosions could rip the magazines massively armoured bulkheads apart, the chain of explosions reached all thirty of the ships nuclear devices. 15 50kT devices for loading into the 25" guns and 15 300kT devices to be mounted on missiles exploded. Tearing the ships apart, the explosion was augmented when the ships reactors melted down, adding thier own material to the maelstrom and creating an explosion that yielded six megatonnes, fortunately by this time the ship had moved almost fifty kilometres from the impact area and the fleets were not directly affected. The ships were gone, obliterated in a nuclear doom caused, in the spizanian admirals eyes, by the incompetance of the Whyatican commander.

WSS Darkthrone II
The bridge crew watched in awe as the Oslo-A smashed into the Spizanian dreadnaught at full sprint speed, and as the massive pile of metal ran into the Civitas Americae minefield, saw a massive fireball erupt, followed by a mushroom cloud hundreds of feet high.

"What the hell was that?" said Grand Admiral Ali-Khan Samoud.

"That was a mine..And that would be the combined nuclear blasts of the Oslo-A's reactor, the Spizanian ship's reactor, and all the nuclear ordinance onboard the Spizanian ship. Orders?" the comm officer said, looking at his screen.

"Send a message to the Spizanians and tell them that their last warning expired when the Oslo-A exploded. Open fire, full salvos. All aircraft are to be launched immediately. Tell the Yurkans to fire and target the aircraft carriers, and get a message to Banduria and get their position. The initial salvo is to target the aircraft carriers and their escorts, and the next salvo will target the super-dreadnaught escorts. Missile salvos are to be launched evenly around the fleet, and in staggered patterns. All submarines to unload everything on the first row of Spizanians."

The crew rushed around the bridge to complete their orders, as the roar of cannon fire and aircraft launchings were heard..

Guns ranging from massive 25" cannons to 5" autocannons opened fire on the Spizanians, blotting out the sun over them..Thousands upon thousands of missiles leapt into the air from their VLS slots, targetted at aircraft carriers and carrier escorts. Another wave of missiles, and they shot towards Super-Dreadnaught escorts and logistical ships. A total of four thousand two hundred ninety six missiles shot through the skies, half of them being low sea-skimming Anti-Shipping Missiles. Railguns powered up, and fired their penetrator rounds at extremely high speeds at escort ships and carriers. Thousands of Vanguard Virage aircraft were shot into the sky by aircraft catapults onboard the ten Gorgoroth class aircraft carriers. On the order of the Grand Admiral, 2,000 planes were launched into the air, with 4,000 more preparing to launch.

The fleet, already in tiered convoy form, was prepared for the counter-assault..

The ships sam batteries and CIWS blazed, rendering the missile strike nearly impotent, still the barrage still knocked out a Roma BB and three Cruisers, the gunfire impacted the carriers much of it was simply stopped by the massively enhanced armour plating, apparently the uparmoured Kriegzimmer designed carriers really were tough, however lucky shots wrecked catapults and a few bounced down the aircraft lifts, destroying squadrons of aircraft sheltering in their armoured hangar bays.

"All secondary batteries target those escorts, give them everything we have!" yelled the Admiral as the deck pitched beneth him.

"All batteries opening fire!"
"Target all 25" Guns on the enemy escorts, fire at will!"
"All main batteries opening fire!"
The combined firepower of two SDs, two SD-hunters and 7 DNs primary armaments roared as they hurled shells into the sides of the enemy escorts, while across the fleet hundreds of 5" RF batteries hurled tonnes of shells into the enemy escorts.

The 18" Guns of the Lance Class Cruisers and the Atlantis Battlecruisers opened up, dozens of guns hurling shells into the enemy aircraft carriers.
Attack boats skittered out of the way of the larger ships as they turned to present as many guns as possible to the enemy vessels.

Six Roma Class Battleships turned out of line and began closing with the enemy fleet, 20" Cannon blazing as they searched out unengaged enemy capital ships.
Three Atlantis class BCNs that had thier weapons removed and replaced with more ASHUM guns, armour and bigger engines, slashed out of formation and accelerated at the enemy SDs at speeds normally only attainable by the attack boats.

Thousands of aircraft took off from the fleets carriers, loaded down to do battle with the enemy.

The battle for the Whyatican Convoy had begun.

Alaric Tan'it, Emperor of Xeraph, had just taken off his swords and was preparing for a rare evening of relaxation in his sumptious quarters in the palace of His Imperial Majesty Titus of Comatica's guest wing. He had had an eye on that red-headed serving girl for several hours, and was having some very pleasent thoughts as to how she would look bent over the kitchen table when a loud, insistent knock brought him out of his reverie.

" What is it?", he spat.

The door flew open and his Supreme Military Commander, Gen. John Strickland, strode towards him. "Alaric, we just received a message from Yurka. They are requesting our intervention in what appears to be a hell of a cluster-fuck on the Whyatican-Juumanistra border."

Alaric grabbed the message, scanned it quickly. " Son-of-a-bitch! No rest for the weary." He thought for a moment. " OK, what we have here is six or seven nations embroiled in what is essentially a border conflict, an assassination, and a colonial insurgency. Sounds like a fuckin' soap opera. Suggestions?"

Strickland ran his fingers through his hair and let out a long breath. " Well, in addition to Yurka, we are friendly with the Maccabees, and recently had a few dealings with Truitt in the Black & Grey War. Whyatica, Quester, Spizania, and Juumanistra are largely unknown to us. Never had much to do with any one of 'em. We can begin mobilization, but until we know exactly who's doing what to whom, we'll need to tread bit lightly."

" Hmmm, yes. Quite right. OK, here's what we do. I want twelve CBGs, fifty Tarantulas and fifty Black Widows ready to hit the high seas. Then, get the Rogovs and Zubrs ready to transport the Royal Marines and two armored divisions. Thats one-and-a-quarter million Marines, and I want Sethanis to contribute 500,000 of the StormGuard from Black Shadows.

Have the 112th, 102nd, 16th, 88th, 77th, and 91st AirWings at Scramble Alert, and the 54th and 55th King Cobra AirWings at the same.

Get a message to Yurka. We need all kinds of info, and we need it NOW. Have the CBGs put out to sea, half-speed until we know what we're up against. If by some chance one of the bad guys fire on us, let'em have it right back at 'em. Got it?"

Strickland grinned. " Got it. Anything else?"

The Emperor grinned back. " Yeah, find that red headed bitch and tell her I'm hungry...............

Essentially half the Skibereenian Fleet was at sea.

7 Revelation Class SD
7 Genesis Class DN
28 Pariacaca Class CVN
56 Firebrand Class Heavy Battle Cruiser
56 Áfido Class Cruiser
56 Asesino Class Arsenal Ship
87 Zeta Class Destroyer
87 Vigilancia Class Destroyer
196 Lobo Del Mar Class Frigate
120 Mar Scorpion Class SSN
14 Doc Class SSGN
7 Sneaky Class SSBN

2,380 Naval Combat Aircraft(Including But not limited to; Black Vulture TF-01, Golden Lynx-76(GLI-76 MRF), and Modified Skibereenian Super Hornets.

Land based aircraft have not been factored in.

With the fleet deployed all around the waters of Skibereen the message was made more clear as the guns of SDs,DNs, and smaller vessels range fired outside of Skibereenian waters.

A completely unneeded diversion, but notable non-the less.

There were people fighting and spill over was not going to be allowed.

The sonar arrays of the Skibereenian Navy lit up as ELF went from passive to active.

Underwater sonar echoed throughout Skibereenian waters, the move was again not really intended to catch anyone....though it would have....but more so to act as a deterant from a vessel even bothering to attempt cutting through Skib waters.
Their fleet was small and still being rebuilt after it was sank almost in its entirety over twenty years ago.

On board the Flagship Ezmeralda
"Sir we have multiple engagements between the Spiz and Why fleets, please advise course of action."

Came a voice over the WhaleSong communications system.

The gray haired man on the bridge who sat in the Captains chair was Admiral Donny O'Brien, he nodded to his ComOfficer who then switched the channel open.

"What is done elsewhere is none of our concern. Hold your position. If anything comes close enough to our waters to shoot at it, then we will shoot at it, but we will remain with in our maritime boundries of economic exclusivity(200 miles from shore).

If nothing comes, then we watch, this is not our fight. We dont want any of it, unless they deliver.
O'Briend out."

'Sir!' The Captain of the newly commissioned PWS Centuar snapped to attention as his Admiral stepped aboard the high observation bridge.

'At ease,' he replied, and the multitude of Staff Officers returned to their stations.

'The ViZion situation appears to have died down,' the Admiral said, looking to the Captain of the mighty super dreadnought, 'The Admiralty has ordered the Grand Fleet to remain on station outside the Med. The Home is to maintain station in the Vascian Gulf but we are have been requested to aid the Imperial General Staff in the defence of some godforsaken colony of some country I've never heard of.'

The Captain scowled. The crew had been happy that they were finally being given the chance to engage the old enemy around ViZion, but they had missed that oppurtunity and they would much rather be back in Praefele than putting out some silly brush fire.

'The Bandurian fleet is there, as are the Questerians,' the Captain's expression grew milder. The Bandurians had opposed their and allied forces over ViZion, and the Questerians were good allies. 'In any case, we will link up with the Questerian fleet and then engage and defeat whoever attempts to prevent us from securing the Juumanistran coast.'

The Captain saluted with an affirmation.

'God Save the King,' said the Admiral.

'God Save the King,' echoed the Captain.

Driven by the ceaseless exersions of their Imperial Atomworks reactors, the fleet began to change course towards their new area of operation. A few days' sail away, there was every possiblity that they would finally engage enemy vessels after so long. Headed by three superdreadnoughts, the crews were in good spirit and confident that God was on their side.

Whyatican Fleet

The Fleet continued to fire massive salvos at the aircraft carriers and carrier escorts, unloading new missile salvos every ten seconds. The 2,000 Vanguard Virage aircraft, already in the air with 20,000 kilograms of ordinance, cruised through the air, shooting heavy AtA missiles at the Spizanian fighters, while some shot AtS missiles or dropped bombs on Spizanian aircraft carriers. Their sleek, nearly RADAR invisible profile would be much harder to target by the Spizanian pilots, as even the greenest of pilots could use the Vanguard like he was a seasoned pilot.

The ramships, however, were another story, A wing of Vanguards swooped down on them, unloading heavy penetrator missiles and dropping smart bombs on them before they could reach the outer lines of the Whyatican fleet.

Seeing as the fleets were a hair away from each other nautically, the Surface-to-Air missile launchers onboard most every ship of the fleet targetted the air swarm of Spizania and unloaded nearly 6,000 surface-to-air missiles in the first volley, and volleys would continue, scattered apart to prevent the pilots from detecting a pattern.

Hundreds of enemy shells came flying at the tiered defense ring, and the fleet was ready for it. CIWS systems opened fire from the first tier, destroying much of the shells at the low-level destroyer tier. The shells continued to soar over the second tier, which opened fire as well. A mere four shells impacted the fourth tier, and they slammed into Emperia class Battleships, doing little damage, although the main guns on one Emperia were completely disabled, and another Battleship would be unable to automatically target any aircraft until replacement RADAR parts were brought up.

"Comm, send a message to the High Command, get word to the Principality of Zeon, ask them if they're interested in helping us!" the Grand Admiral yelled over the roar of battle.

A fresh volley of shells and anti-shipping missiles was fired at the aircraft carriers and carrier escorts, and the Torment class submarines suddenly unloaded over one hundred super-cavitating torpedos aimed at the center of the Spizanian fleet, hoping to create a split in the middle of the Spizanians that the Whyaticans could exploit to the fullest. The submarines launched dozens of sea-skimming anti-shipping missiles at the Spizanian fleet, aimed at Super-Dreadnaught escorts.

Another 1,000 aircraft were prepared for launch, and rocketed off the aircraft catapults to join the battle..

Operation JACKHAMMER
For weeks, while the naval situation developed, the Imperial Expeditionary Command continued to plan what would be the evolution of ground warfare in the Skiberdeenian colonies. The entire war had simply been one huge naval battle between disproportionally large battle fleets, and the real war - that war that [i]should have been - had turned largely into a sitting war, with the forces of both sides looking at each other from their respective sides of the border. Suprisingly, however, since the attack on Yurkan ground assets by the Valkyries the Yurkans had not made a single deployment further, leaving the sector directly in front of the Imperial Expeditionary Mechanized Force completely unprotected, giving IEMF an opportunity they could not pass up. And so for twelve days the generals who commanded this most fortunate group of personnel and men worked away, and the result of their work was Operation JACKHAMMER, designed to destroy a grand portion of the Yurkan ground army, and then quietly settle back on their side of the border. In other words, a [i]very large, and at the same time very risky operation to dismantle Yurkan ground potential in one fell swoop, without sacrificing too many men. Once JACKHAMMER commenced it was fully expected that Juumanistran border forces would begin to move into the Yurkan colony as well, albeit at a slower pace. But it was expected of them that they would occupy what IEMF took, and then IEMF could lick its wounds, redeploy, rinse and repeat. At least, that was what was expected.

One dark morning, as imperial reconnaissance satellites scouted from orbit, the airfields occupied by the Empire were once again busy, while at the front the armour and trucks kept their lights on and engines rolling, in preperation. Six squadrons of Lu-45 Hawks lifted off into the air from four different airfields, as all eight squadrons of GLI-76 Falcons rose as well, in perfect harmony. The Hawks rose altitude to around twelve thousand meters, flanked by powerful ELINT aircraft, carved out of civilian passenger jets, and fitted with ferocious radars and a range of other sensor equipment. Along with these were the still not phased out Fu-47 Starlight AWACs aircraft, purchased from Wellington International before the War of Golden Succession, and still in use, especially for colonial forces and naval forces. On other hand, the Falcons flew at around three hundred meters, underneath most radars, and they would never get within range for the short range surface search radars to pick them up. They penetrated deep into Yurkan territory, armed with four heavy modified MLAM-2 air to surface missiles each. Each missile was armed to the teeth with thirty high explosive, burst, submunitions, which would not only blow, but would spread a hail of tungsten balls in all directions. With these, the ninety-six Falcons targetted Yurkan airfields from a range of ten kilometers to up to ninety kilometers, saturating Yurkan airpower with some three hundred and eighty four missiles. These would explode, cratering runways, or destroying aircraft, while the tungsten BBs would pepper other aircraft, putting them out of action as well. All the while, the Hawks kept up their patrols, prepared to put at least three AAM.176 into any intelligence aircraft that was scrambled into the sky, meaning any advance warning would be done, and prepared to engage Yurkan aircraft attempting to take off in order to nip the Imperial air raid in the butt, as it finished the aerial operation. In other words, the Skiberdeenian Laerihans [SLA] was attempting to achieve total air superiority with a suprise attack on Yurkan airfields, and disallowing from any aircraft to take off, without feeling massive pressure from Imperial air superiority fighters.

On the ground, things didn't go much neater. The artillery, massive 155mm self-propelled guns, had already been plastering the frontlines and anything within eighty kilometers, with anti-tank munitions and anti-infantry munitions, saturating the area for a whole forty-five minutes with round after round. Every two shots the batteries would switch areas to avoid counter battery fire, and then continue the barrage. The skies filled with streaks of red and orange, throwing color into the plain night canvas, and when the shells hit bright blue and red balls of fire formed bulbous perimeters, marking anything within them a deadman. The rumble of artillery could no doubt be heard for miles around the area of operations, probably even reaching the cities of the Juumanistran colonies. And then suddenly, the artillery fell silent.

Major Anton DeViern watched the operation progress and then he twitched a bit when it all ended. His mouth formed light curls at the end, probably in disgust to the war that was unfolding. He took another look at his radio, throwing encrypted databursts at him, and he looked back. Still no orders. Finally he heard something muffled and he brought the radio closer to him and listened, "Commence."

Jumping to his feet he took his own intra-company radio and barked, "It's a go."

In synchronous marvel the entire IEMF was suddenly brought to life. The two spearheads plunged into Yurkan territory, forming armoured fists on two locations on the flanks of the sector. They would put as much force as they could on a single point, hoping to break through. All the while, to avoid having the Yurkans shift formations, the 6th and 7th Mechanized Infantry Divisions struck in the center, putting pressure on that part, forcing the Yurkans to keep their men there, while the 14th and 15th kept pressure on the flanks of the two armoured forces trying to break through, the 2nd and 3rd Waffen-SS Arca Brigades. One could easily hear the clash of arms soon enough, as the armour engaged elements of the Yurkan defense. Behind them, the rest of the armour began to amass, just in case it would have to be thrown into battle, and overhead the 2nd Waffen-SS Air Assault Group moved in by cargo plane, working in cooperation with the Lu-45s to keep the skies relatively clear of enemy aircraft. A total of six cargo planes dropped all four hundred men behind enemy lines, where they would land in sticks and then prepare to march overland to strategic Yurkan supply dumps and take them, and then proceed to destroy them, disallowing the Yurkans of vital supplies necessary to carry out the war. If need be, the entire force would have the Valkyries at their disposal.

The hammer had dropped. Back at IEC Colonel General Xavier Fernan took a look at the operation unfolding, keeping close track through the Fu-47 Starlights and the Empire's own ELINT craft, and he turned to Major General David Jaké and asked, "Have they encountered any major resistance."

The other man shrugged, "We have reports of lead elements of the advance engaging lead elements of their defense, but nothing major. Yet I have a feeling that we are going to be embroiled in a very large ground war very soon."

Fernan nodded and replied, "Yes, hopefully Juumanistra will receive the cue and send in their own forces into the fray. If we are to even hope to be successful they will need to protect our flanks and pressure the rest of the Yurkan army. Only then can our mechanization eliminate major pockets of resistance. If we work in cooperation I believe this war could be over with Yurka out of the picture, and only Whyatica left, and all of this in a period of less than a month."

Jaké nodded as well and said, "Hopefully."

Another soldier marched into the tent. He was merely a private and he looked at the General Colonel and saluted. Fernan saluted back and asked the private his business. The soldier replied, "Command is ready to transfer itself closer to the front. Everything has been packed up."

Fernan said, "Thank you. You may leave." The other man left and Fernan turned to Jaké, "It's time we leave." With that, IEC transferred itself closer to the front, and it would keep on moving as long as the offensive kept on moving. The hammer had indeed dropped.

OOC: Macabees, you can't just automatically penetrate into my well-defended territory, especially during wartime. I have five aerial fleets, each fleet containing 1800 combat-worthy aircraft currently in the colony. Before you even came near the border you would have hundreds of fighters and anti-air weaponry firing at you. I'll respond to this next post, though you should probably look at my main map to know how far the largest airfields really are from the border, they're on the other side of North Eastern side, right by Whyatica. I'll pull the link up in a bit and repost it along with my response.

Orion Naval Base

"Gah! What the hell happened out there?!" The commander shouted over the communications officers, shaking a fist angrily at what was going on, "Was that a nuclear explosion?! Are they insane?!"

"S-sir, what should we do?! They're attacking eachother!" One of the young comm officers asked hesitantly as he looked over the screen, "Our submarines are out there! Should we jump in?"

"Of course... This is all the Spizanian's fault for entering our waters in the first place! I want an aerial fleets dispatched immediately. Don't allow any of them to make it out! Have our submarine forces engage them cautiously as well! Don't allow them to come any further towards us! They've already irradiated our ocean with those damn Whyaticans!"

"Aye sir! An entire Aerial Fleet..." The young man said quietly as he typed up the orders on the computers as the low hum began to blare over all of the speakers along the entire base, along with the necessary secondary bases which would supply the massive amount of aircraft.

All at once, one thousand and five hundred Vanguard fighters, along with three hundred heavily refitted Vanguard bombers were quickly deployed towards the battle from the aerial base, with a secondary, equal number of aircraft quickly readied should the be needed. Along with this all of the coastal weaponry prepared themselves should the Spizanians even attempt to enter within the 200 nautical miles which made up their waters.

Yurkan Territorial Waters

"We've got orders! Fire at the Spizanian carriers!" The submarine commander aboard one of the distant S-Agua's shouted over the intercom as the large group of eighty

That was the only order necessary as the eighty augmented S-Class Aguas quickly launched off one dozen anti-shipping missiles each, each with a 750 pound payload. They were primarily targetting anything which looked like a carrier and was owned by Spizania, and would fire a secondary dozen each immediately afterwards before quickly diving to prevent being hit by cruise missiles from the enemy. Launching half of their 1,920 total payload, they would then wait for another chance to empty their remaining missiles.

As this was going on, the hulking seventy Aguas also engaged, launching twelve missiles each from their tubes at the maximum distance, carefully spaced out to hit as many ships as possible. As they did this, they knew for certainty that they would triumph, especially with the massive aerial aid they would soon receive.

[OOC: Because, of course, all 1,800 aircraft are in the air, all the time. The idea is to strike at your airfield to avoid these aircraft. You understand the amount of time it takes to scramble aircraft into the air to avoid an air raid, and this was assuming that you would know my aircraft were coming, which is specifically why my strike fighters flew below your radar?]

OOC: The Map = Here (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/Kutulmak/YurkanWarMarch.jpg) Well its been noted that these maps are extremely small, and Juumanistran itself is larger than Texas. Now also, Juumanistran had mentioned before that his entire western border is mountainous, making flying over the radar extremely difficult. Factor in anti-air weaponry and all the towns, and its pretty damn difficult to get them anywhere nearby without being hit. After your first attack it would be insane not to have aircraft patrolling over my entire colony, at least a hundred at a time.

The Carriers and the ships closest to them emptied entire banks of SAMs from their magfed VLS tubes as they fired into the oncoming swarm of weapons. The 64 Aircraft Carriers in the combined fleet each faced 30 Antishipping missiles, as soon as the ships powerful radars located the missiles, about forty five seconds from impact, each ship launched over a hundred missiles, a quarter of the full one-volley capability into the oncoming cloud. The missiles struck home in a large number of cases, removing an average about twenty missiles from the oncomming barrage, ten remained. The ships CIWS systems took up the challenge, defeating on average 6 missiles per carrier, leaving on average 4 to crash into the uparmoured sides of the carriers.
Although many of the missiles plowed into the armour, peeling back armour plating and wrecking interior space like crew quaters. Several of the missiles hit the ramps that helped move aircraft down that side of the carrier to the hangars. Blasting apart a total of thirty five aircraft and slowing the rate of takeoff from the affected carriers by about a quarter as Damage Control Crews raced to clear the mess.

Next the ships in the fleet picked up the inbound torpedoes, the ships that would fall into the path of the barrage powered up their ASHUM guns, as did the ships either side of them in the line. Hails of supercavitating bullets sprayed out at the inbound torpedoes, destroying many of the weapons. But still more struck the ships of the fleet and when the dust had settled, thirty ships, fifteen of the destroyers, the rest either Patrol Cruisers or in one case a Lance Class Cruiser were heading to the bottom, their crews leaping over the sides or running to the lifeboats.

"Do you have a firing solution on the enemy submarines that launched the barrage?"
"We have the location from which the missiles were launched"
"Use Torp-carrying missiles, fire once for every three missiles launched at us!"
Across the missile bearing ships in the fleet, 640 Princep III ASROCs launched, targetted at the points where the missiles emerged, when they arrived they would drop their torpedoes that would seek out submarines automattically and home in on them, before doing what torpedoes were meant to do to subs.

The fighters were hit hard by the SAMs, eighthundred aircraft falling to them before the others dropped into the RADAR shadow of the fleets larger ships and began circling at wavetop level.

Meanwhile as the formation of the ships of the fleet slowly mutated into a more combat useable one, the carriers launched all thier remaining aircraft as fast as possible, three thousand Lu-45s remained undestroyed, and the crews rushed as they launched them, hoping to get them into the air before the Yurkhans arrived. They lifted into the sky and formed up halfway between the fleet and the mainland.

The preparations were all in order, the fleet was on it's way to provide support to Yurka, Whyatica, and Banduria. Orders had been written, rewritten, then issued. The enemy was Juumanistra, Spizania, Civitas America, the Macabees and now Praetonia. This last two troubled both the Emperor and Gen. Strickland the most, as it had been a long, hard road to the gaining of diplomatic status with the Macabees, and Praetonia was a long-standing ally. The day had finally come all those years ago when the formal exchange of embassies had occured, and the three nations had enjoyed a cordial relationship........until now.

Alaric secretly hoped that it would not come to blows with them. In fact, his orders were to refrain from firing the first shot when it came to a potential conflict with the Macabees. Perhaps they could each avoid the other.

The fleet en route to the war zone was the largest in recent years, with the exception of the fleet that sailed into and through the Black and Grey forces. That was truly a sight to behold. Fully 40% of the combined fleets of the Empire had risen against the Imperium, with thousands of armored units and tens of millions of ground troops. Over 14,000 aircraft had taken to the skies.....9,277 came back. But they had accomplished their task....the Imperium was no more.

Alaric tied his long black hair back, glanced at the battle-map, and saw that it was good. Perhaps Xeraph's entry into the conflict would end it more quickly. Yurka was a good ally, and they had asked for help.

The Emperor turned to his aide and asked, " Captain, get hold of Ricala and Vlad. We're gonna need their help on this one." Ricala was King Ricala of Auralinia and Vlad was the Regent of The Grey Phoenix, two of the three mainstays of the Empire. Between the two of them, they could almost double the amount of troops, aircraft, and warships that Xeraph had already commited. Also, give me the composite report on total XE forces en route to the war zone."

" Yessir."

JACKHAMMER Defensive

The aircraft from Macabees would find the North Eastern Mountains isolated other than small groups of infantry keeping an eye out for anything suspicious, in small groups of a hundred or so each. Luckily they managed to make it by without being spotted, and darted through the mountains without being spotted by the radar as well. The troops deployed there were more or less sleeping at the time, and the quiet planes did little to catch their immediate attentions.

As they passed through this, they would immediately come across dozens of Patrol planes flying along the borders of the Juumanistran mountains and Whyatica's Northern border to take care of things. Five kilometers past the mountains and they would either have to take them all out or try to get by. Either way, with their disappearances an alert would suddenly be sounded all over the northern territories of the colony...

Immediately all anti-air weapons were aimed skyward as dozens of aircraft from all of the various North and North Eastern air fields. They were all headed towards where the latest destroyed patrol plane or aerial fighting was taking place, and to supplement them a message was also quickly sent to the Whyaticans. It was brief, but detailed exactly where the latest missing Patrol Plane was...

Whyatica, this is the Eternal Empire... We are being attacked by what appears to be the Juumanistrans. We hopefully request that you can immediately send aerial assistance to us to help wipe them from our skies!

Sometime later the first of the artillery would begin to hit the soldiers spaced out in the mountains. The explosions rocked through their small encampments as distress calls rung out all over the Eternal Empire, hitting hidden bunkers and other locations as the call was quickly relayed to everyone, and a closed channel which had recently been implemented smacked into Whyatica's colonial command center. However, by the time any reinforcements could come, most of the fifteen thousand soldiers and civilians operating in the mountains would be dead or missing...

With that, the first hundred aircraft came forward just as the Macabees began to lay waste against a small group of the furthest outlaying air fields, wiping out dozens of aircraft before the massive aerial Armada flew forward, launching nonstop salvos of missiles as they attempted to finish them off as quickly as possible. Of course while this was going on the fighting was captured on some of the aircraft computers and small radar signals alerted the rest of the colony where everything was going on.

Whyatican Colonial Command Center

"Distress call from the Yurkans, Commander. They're under attack from forces from what appear to be of Juumanistra." a military private said over his console.

He thought for a few seconds, and said, "Launch the Stryker Division from Wayne Airfield. Stryker is loaded all with AtA missiles, so it's what the Yurkans need." the Commander said.

"Aye, sir." the private responded.

Wayne Airfield

Aircraft technicians bustled over one thousand Novacom Vanguard Virage fighters, the mainstay of the Whyatican Air Force. Already on alert, they were readied to launch in one hour.

As aircraft raised themselves on their VTOL jets, they shot ahead to the Whyatican-Yurkan-Juumanistran border where the fighting was, hoping to get there in time to prevent more Yurkan deaths.

They hit their maximum sustained cruise speed of Mach 6 in no time, and it would take them roughly 15 minutes at that speed to hit the area where the last patrol planes were destroyed..

Whyatican Fleet

With the 3,000 Vanguard Virages in the skies essentially unopposed, they continued to rain down ordinance on the Spizanian fleets, aiming for aircraft launching. They targetted Spizanian Lu-45 Hawks with a vengeance, unloading thousands of missiles at their targets. For some reason, the Spizanian fleet had opted not to launch SAMs at the Vanguard Virages, so they flooded on the Spizanian fleet with a vengeance, aiming to slice the fleet in two halves.

For some reason, the Spizanian fleet had pulled it's concentration off the Whyaticans, so on the bridge of the Darkthrone II, the Grand Admiral was in a conundrum.

Why'd they quit firing on us? Ah well. he thought.

"KEEP FIRING!" he bellowed, knocking over a young ensign rushing across the bridge. The ensign got up, and scrambled over to his post, where he sat down and punched in keys.

The mighty 25" guns of the Darkthrone II fired yet again in anger at a Spizanian carrier, and they twisted around slowly and depressed a bit, aiming at a Spizanian dreadnaught, where they unloaded again. A magnetic buzzing noise echoed throughout the Darkthrone II as a railgun unloaded yet another heavy penetrator round at a Spizanian Super-Dreadnaught.

Another 500 Vanguard Virage jets flew off the catapults of the Gorgoroth carriers, and these were carrying massive AtS missiles, and they would unload as many as possible on the lead Super-Dreadnaught before returning to their Gorgoroths and returning for more.

The SAM batteries of the fleet unloaded another massive salvo on the Lu-45 Hawks of the Spizanians, and the crew members continued to load missiles in for more salvos.

Onboard the Darkthrone II, the Grand Admiral had an idea.

"Send a message to the Spizanian dreadnaught and call for their immediate surrender!" he bellowed over the roar of fire once more.

"Aye, sir!" the comm officer screamed back. He hurriedly typed in a message, saying,
We outnumber you and outgun you. Surrender now and you will not die.

He pressed the enter key on his console, and the message was broadcast on all known Spizanian frequencies.

The Whyaticans were as happy as could be, after all, they believed they were winning the battle..

Naval Battle

The Aguas quickly fired another twelve missile salvo each, as they quickly moved out of the way to dodge the weapons being fired at them. However, due to the overwhelming size of the fleet they were attacking, a large number were hit, with thirty-eight, over half of the fleet sinking. The remaining thirty-two quickly launched a duplicate salvo of twelve missiles at the fleet, another 384 beacons of distruction which would hopefully hit.

The S Class Aguas were luckier, as they had quickly went as low as possible upon detecting the incoming missiles, and fired their own torpedos upwards to take them out when they came downward. As the heat signatures from the bottom of the ocean could not reach most of the silent submarines, only twenty were hit, exploding on contact and sending massive bursts of water upward as their payloads exploded with them. For now, the remaining fifty S Aguas would remain completely under water. They were not expecting such a weapon, so would wait for reinforcements.

To: Those who have allied themselves with the Juumanistran nation
From: President Winston Warner, President of the Remarkably Sane Dominion of Juumanistra
Subject: Thanks for what has been done and what will be done

It is with my deepest gratitude that I thank all the nations that have rallied to the Juumanistran cause. Our sole colonial holding in the world, well on the way to ascending and becoming a full member of the Dominion and home to a quarter-of-a-billion Juumans has been besieged by two states that have made no attempt to cover their blatant coveting of Juumanistran Skiberdeenia and would, were it not for the strength of Juuman arms and the resolve her friends, have already attempted to seize it. For your help in preventing such blatant imperialism, again, thank you.

But much remains to be done. A quarter of the Spizanian fleet is in danger of being encircled and trapped. The ground campaign remains, for the most part, non-existent and where it does exist it is incredibly ineffectual. In the hope of rectifying this, the Juumanistran government would like to invite all allied nations to send military delegations to Freedomport to establish a Unified Allied Command, so as to better coordinate the efforts of our militaries in combating the despicable machinations of Whyatica and Yurka.

And an announcement. For too long in this conflict has Juumanistra been intent to sit on her hands, waiting for the other shoe to drop. For too long have others paid the price, as the Spizanian fleet finds itself adrift and isolated. No more. As of today, Juumanistra intends to retake the initiative in her own defense and, starting this moment, our counteroffensive is underway.

May God have mercy on our enemies.

To: The Eternal Empire of Yurka
From: President Winston Warner, President of the Remarkably Sane Dominion of Juumanistra
Subject: No surrender

We are not fools. We know what both you and Whyatica crave, what drove you into each other’s arms. It was your signing of an offensive military alliance with Whyatica that prompted this ratcheting up of tensions in the first place. Furthermore, it was you who needlessly provoked us, with the mobilization of millions of troops to the frontier immediately after the signing of said alliance. The Second Empire was defending Juuman sovereignty against what was, quite obviously, the prelude to an invasion of Skiberdeenia. We have nothing to be repentful about.

Furthermore, it is you who spits on the dead, not we. It was your botched scheme to bring about a casus belli for your invasion, to use Whyatica to frame us so you both could invade us and annex our lands. A machination that has led to the deaths of dozens of innocents in Preta. And for what? Nothing.

There will be no surrender. It is we who are the aggrieved, not you. We have done nothing wrong and will not acquiese to those who would sacrifice their own people to frame another.

*=*=*=*=*

Reichman Air Force Base, located on the outskirts of Freedomport, was arguably the biggest the most important Air Force facility in Skiberdeenia. She was the gateway to the interior of Skiberdeenia for most of the Juumanistran forces that arrived in the colony. It was also the nexus of Operation Dayan, the operational compliment of Operation Jackhammer and was intended to counter the threat posed by Whyatican and Bandurian sealift capabilities.

The goal of Operation Dayan was nothing less than a decapitation strike against Yurka’s only sea outlet, to deny the great fleets fighting on the high seas a place to rest, tend their wounds, and resupply. The port infrastructure that any modern navy required to fight and wage war was exceptionally vulnerable to strikes from the air. As were the logistical ships that kept any force at sea for more than a few days. It was Yamamoto turned on his head: A coup-de-grace strike that targeted the port itself rather than the combat vessels within it.

It was also an exceptionally dangerous plan. Given the unique geography of the region, the land-based aircraft would have to fly out to sea, refuel on the way there and on their way home, fly most of the mission at 600 feet or lower, rising only to fuel, and perform the entire six hour flight to Yurka’s port in blacked-out cockpits and without running lights. It required the utmost timing and coordination, as the strike utilized not just ground-based aircraft but carrier-based assets, sea-launched missiles, and air-launched missiles as well.

And the bulk of it would be launched and directed from Freedomport, with additional assets coming from the other two Ports on the island and New Sanumi. At the anointed hour, twenty-three hours before the strike was set to commence, Reichman and the other major airfields throughout the south of Skiberdeenia came alive. Crews from seventeen Juumanistran air corps began to prepare their aircraft for launch. With the utmost skill and care, fifteen hundred aircraft were carefully readied for the coming mission. Final maintenance was performed as munitions were readied: Following the completion of last-minute bolt-tightening, the payloads for the mission to come were rolled out and loaded into internal weapons bays and onto external wing pylons.

Concurrently, the flight crews were being briefed on the mission to come. What they were asked to do was daunting. They were asked to launch and form up at a mere five-hundred feet and then proceed out to sea. They would then make their way southeast, at a distance of three hundred miles from the coast. Fours hours into the flight, they would refuel at altitude and then continue. As they came onto the same longitude as the port, they would turn ninety-degrees and bear northward, where they would go full afterburner in and engage their targets.

There would be three waves to the strike, launched two hours apart. The first would be Fu-47, Fu-81, and Ku-47 logistical aircraft, which would provide the 3C and fueling support necessary for the strike to work. The second would consist of electronics warfare and air defense suppression aircraft. The third and final wave would consist of the strike package itself. The first wave launched at thirteen hours before the strike was slated to commence: The strike package at eight.

At T-minus thirteen hours the operation commenced. The cumbersome four engine Fu-47 AWACS aircraft, F-81 ground monitoring aircraft, and Ku-47 tankers lumbered aloft into the darkening skies of the coming evening. Precisely two hours later, the second wave began to lift off, composed of elements from four of the five Tactical Support Corps within the colonies, with Nu-38Ds and AADS-outfitted Ni-35s taking flight, followed by Gu-18 Mad Hatter EW warfare aircraft. And then, a T-minus eight hours, the strike wave itself began to lumber into the skies.

The staggering of the deployment, and the time required to organize the massive flights before they deployed, gave the operation a self-shaping quality. The logistics train formed itself up, as did the second wave with the faster small fighters having to refuel, allowing the heavier Gu-18s to overtake them. All was predicated in the schedule. Air-superiority fighters in the third wave were launched first and were sandwiched between the second wave and the strike wave, as was intended: They would be in the perfect position to engage anything stirred up by the EW and AADS operations of the second wave and the first wave of missile strikes.

While the land-based aircraft, the main thrust of the strike, organized and were sped on their way, the equally important naval component. Juumanistra’s twin battlefleets had quietly moved into a striking position, some two-hundred and twenty miles southwest of Yurka’s only nautical gateway. With Yurka’s, and everyone else’s, attention turned to the southeast and the clash of dreadnaughts, the twin Juuman fleets, some fifty miles apart, had attracted relatively little attention. Now, however, was the time to strike.

At T-minus five hours, the flight decks of the four Thermoplyae class fleet carriers within each force began to stir. The aircraft contributed would not be as numerous as those of the land-based air corps: Four squadrons of mixed-ordinance naval Ne-41s and two squadrons of naval No-34s from each carrier. The Ne-41s would contribute an important part of the strike, for two reasons: They’d help provide envelopment, as they’d strike from the west and southwest, while the main strike group would come from the south, southeast, and east. They’d also provide additional firepower to bolster the second wave, which they were to come ashore with, in dealing with threats and helping blind and deafen the Yurkan defenders.

At T-minus two hours, the second phase of the Navy’s involvement commenced. Thousands of PGMi.75 Titan sea-skimming missiles were launched from both the fleets, targeting key fixed targets that had been compiled from weeks of high-altitude and satellite observance and ELINT: anti-air defenses, power plants, major electrical substations, telephone exchanges, command and control locations, docks, shipwrighting facilities, and submarine tenders. Concurrently, aircraft launched at T-minus seven-and-a-half hours from Juumanistra herself, massive Ha-344 bombers, were on their final approach to their target, some three hundred miles south of Yurka’s port. There, they let loose their payloads, several thousand more PGMi.75s, targeting the same variety of targets as their seaborne compatriots.

Across the sea, the toughest part of the land-based aircraft mission was coming to a close. The refueling was the most hazardous part of the flight and was the greatest test that the pilots would endure on the mission. Thankfully for the pilots, it went smoothly for the most part: Years of rigorous training and drilling made it possible for almost every aircraft and tanker to endure the process without incidence. But, given the operational complexity of such an endeavor, some were bound to be lost: Seven aircraft, including a tanker, were to be lost during the refueling, due either to the hazardous conditions five hundred feet above the ocean or human error. Operation Dayan’s first blood had been spilled and it was Juumanistran.

T-minus thirty minutes would mark the start of the actual operation. That was when the first of the missiles from the Third and Fifth Fleets, as well as their bomber brethren, began to rain down on the Yurkan city. At T-minus twenty minutes, the first aircraft of the EW and AADS wave would make landfall from the southeast and commence their jamming operations and strikes at the air-defense network, with the naval contingent of aircraft making landfall from the west and targeting the port infrastructure of the western half of the harbor. And at T-minus seven minutes, the final asset of the strike would be moved into place: Several hundred mobile short-range ballistic missile crews had been quietly imported from the Juumanistran mainland and deployed to the southeast of the colony. Now they would deploy their conventional payloads, aimed at the port’s docking complexes and submarine tenders.

And, after thirty-minutes of preliminary bombardment, the main strike package would make landfall and commence the start of the operation proper. The beginning of the real Operation Dayan was at hand.

*=*=*=*=*

The Navy’s role in Operation Dayan completed, both the Third and Fifth Fleet swung southward towards the great naval battle that raged in that direction. They would make flank speed to join and attempt to relieve the besieged Spizanian fleet. This wasn’t the fight that the Juumanistran Navy had wanted: It would have preferred to harbor its strength against a potential amphibious strike against the Juumanistran homeland against an amphibious assault. But there was no choice now.

But if there was to be a fight, they’d be damned if they didn’t take as many down as possible.

The carriers of the fleets hadn’t full-deck launched for a reason. They knew that they would be turning south and that a sizable force to be retained in order to attempt to relive the Spizanians. Even with only half of the fleet’s combined air power, they were confident they could still break the Whyatican encirclement long enough to allow the Spizanian fleet to disengage. The operation to break the Whyatican fleet had been planned faster than Operation Dayan, but it was still anticipated as a compliment to the initial plan, and things had been planned accordingly.

The plan to break the Yurkan-Whyatican encirclement was as bold and daring as Operation Dayan was. It was a two-pronged assault, centered on the Navy’s newest weapon: The PGT.1 TORER. The PGT.1, a Type 88 503mm mated to a retrofit PGMi.75 engine casing, providing a torpedo capable of firing from far over the horizon and still capable of evading most CIWS systems due to its extreme range of submergence. It was on the TORER, and its ALTORER cousin, that almost all hope rested.

The fleets had kept their supply ships close to them as they’d lobbed their volley as part of Operation Dayan. They’d expended most of their replenishment’s vessels stores of conventional strike missiles in Operation Dayan, but by depleting their reserve early, they were able to retain virgin stocks heading into the coming battle. TORERs, which had also been provided in bulk, were for the most setup in relatively crude four- or six-missile improvised cells on the foredecks of most of the ships, save for the larger capital ships, in which the main guns were loaded with the missiles instead, to avoid sacrificing precious integrated VLS tubes and cells.

The second half of the punch was to come from the south. Just as several hundred Ha-344s had been used as a force multiplier earlier in Operation Dayan, so it would here, too. Launched hours before, a much larger force, of some four hundred Ha-344s from mainland Juumanistra and their substantial escorts, each armed with fifteen ALTORERs would launch their payloads some three hundred miles to the south of the naval engagement and then break off to return home.

So the plan was put into action. While launching their remaining air assets for the coming battle as they linked up, both the Third and Fifth Fleets lobbed their entire inventories of PGT.1s at the combined at the combined Whyatican fleet at a range of two-hundred and fifty miles. Five-hundred and fifty miles to the south, launched its payload at the enemy fleet. In addition, several hundred PGMi.46 Sunspot extended range anti-radiation missiles at the Whyatican superdreadnoughts, in the hopes of blinding them. The AL/TORER salvo focused its energies on the superships – the dreadnoughts, superdreadnoughts, and carriers – though some fire was also directed at the heavier escorts.

While the Juumanistran Navy was more concerned with the Whyatican force, the Yurkan submarine force was a priority as well. Its relative position had been discerned from the launch of its missile launches, and the sound of its mass flooding and torpedo launch, the Navy brought its weight to bear. Dozens upon dozens of anti-submarine helicopters were deployed, as were several squadrons of carrier-based No-26 Valkyrie torpedo aircraft. Furthermore, half of the fleet’s Gordon and Croughan class subs were quietly deployed to close the trap on Yurkan’s from both above and below.

The Juumanistran Navy had arrived.

*=*=*=*=*

The skies above northern Skiberdeenia were becoming active. The Air Force had known about what the Second Empire had intended to do and had made no attempt to stop them. Indeed, it had been the Air Force’s earnest desire that the Macabeean provocation would draw the enemy out and had piped them into the massive electronic surveillance network that they had thrown over the southern half of Whyatica and eastern Yurka. They had prepared for this by, in the hours before the Second Empire was prepared to move out in Operation Jackhammer, by discreetly getting as many advanced combat aircraft as possible into the skies. The skies were, as the anointed time came, filled to capacity with Lokis, Aeromancers, and Makos.

The Juumanistran response to the emerging counter-offensive was two-pronged. The first thrust, consisting of No-34Zs, Ni-35s, Ne-41s, and Na-24s, would fly northeast and intercept the Whyatican contingent that had deployed from Wayne Field. The No-34Zs would use their ultra-long range stand-off capabilities to draw attention and distract the Whyatican pilots while the Ne-41s and Na-24s closed to AAGM.21 stand-off ranges; there, in the crossfire between themselves and the AAGM.25s launched by No-34Zs, they’d have the Whyatican contingent trapped. The Ni-35s would play the role of spoiler, picking off stragglers and ensuring that the trap was executed successfully.

The other thrust, towards the air battle being waged between the Macabees and Yurka, was to be larger and consist of Nu-38s, Ne-41s, and Na-24s. There was to be far less strategy than employed against the Whyatican thrust: This was a campaign to obliterate the Yurkan colonial air force. To that end, Juumanistra’s massive advantage in ELINT and jointness would be leveraged, through superior detection capabilities and network-composite missile guidance in addition the missile’s own internal means of tracking. They could out-range, out-shoot, and out-guide their enemy and the Air Force intended to it.

And the two prongs thrust forward towards their targets, ready to engage them, missiles launching announcing the entrance of Juumanistra into the air war.

*=*=*=*=*

The last component of the Juumanistran counteroffensive was that of a ground one. To the south of the Second Empire’s thrust, the Army sought to envelop or force the withdrawal of as many Yurkan forces from the frontier as possible. So, while the Macabees attempted to push forward with an armored thrust along the north of frontier, the Army was to attempt to make an end-run around the Yurkans in the south with a lighter and more agile force. To this effect, four mobile armor divisions, three regular and one Home Guard, were detached from the Fourth Army Group to be thrown at the southern Yurkan frontier.

The thrust began much as the Macabees had: No-27 Rancors and Do-4 Razorbacks launched by the divisions made strikes at targets of opportunity across the border, both using their powerful gatling guns to suppress enemy fire and strike at armored targets. Concurrently Si-54 Warhawk helicopter gunships from the four divisions that were to advance made their way across the frontier, as well, providing sustained fire support in places where the Rancors and Razorbacks could not.

And then came the divisions themselves. Having navigated the obstacles erected along the frontier days earlier, and with what little initial immediate cross-border resistence pulverized or reeling, they crossed the border and began their armored thrust inland, in hopes of getting behind their enemies, to provide the anvil to the Second Empire’s hammer.

Aircraft were shredded by the incoming missiles as they attempted to climb to combat altitudes. The aircraft carrier Intrepid took a hit from a twenty five inch shell to her number one forward SAM battery, a chain of explosions chewed a huge hole in the armour plate and lighted fires along the sides of the ship. But still aircraft launched.
It was time to win back the skies. On the admirals order, ten thousand P.746.A B and F missiles roared into the air, aiming to knock the enemy aircraft out of the sky.

The main twenty five inch armaments of the SDs and the battered but unbroken dreadnaughts threw shells into the first teir of the enemy escort screen. 1 shell in every four was fitted with an EPFCG powered EMP device, although the enemy ships themselves may be shielded, it was near impossible to effectively shield CIWS and RADAR systems from the EMP, the enemy ships would be left defenceless.

The ships of the fleet within 50 nautical miles of the enemy and that had been refitted with deck mounted launchers all fired Hammerhead Heavy Torpedoes at the first teir escort screen.
One thousand Shockhound one avengers were launched at the second teir of escorts, hopefully the EMPs in the 25" shells would soon render the first teir defenceless for the torpedoes, and allowing the missiles to strike deeper into the enemy formation.

The missiles from the Yurkan submarines were dealt with much the same way as before, SAMs and CIWS decimating the incoming weapons, however the increased number of weapons meant that there was more damage, more wrecks of aircraft piling up on the liftways, but no critical damage to the ships themselves. More DC personell rushed to help clear up the damage as another 900 Princep III ASROC missiles launched, they would deploy torpedoes programmed to search and destroy in the area around where they were dropped by the missiles.

Force H

Explosions ripped the sea apart as the dying screams of men filled the air. The vastly outnumbered Spizanians had valiantly engaged the Whyaticans, but it looked fairly grim numberwise.

The Commonwealth had arrived.

The HMS Harwood and the HMS Prince of Wales, and their respective battlegroups, had been re-routed from their subsequent operations and attached to the taskforce. Force H now numbered five extremely large battleships and over six hundred ships. In traditional battle lines, the Howe, Harwood, Democracy, Prince of Wales, and Duke of Edinburgh.

Not all that far behind them steamed the Praetonians and the Velkyans, in the first Commonwealth joint live military maneouvre.

HMS Howe, Commonwealth Naval Command In Theater Ship, 792km from the Yurkan Port

'This better be worth it.' Tarrant walked into the bridge from the captains quarters, still sipping a cup of coffee and still wearing his furry anchor slippers, bought by his six year old son as a birthday present.

'Aye sir.' the navigation ensign said with a smug grin. 'We're in gunnery range of the Yurkan port.'

'Oh really!' Tarrant's face lit up like a lava lamp. 'Alright, see to it that the fleet begins bombardment of that port. Turn us about.. oh hell, let me get dressed first.'

Five minutes later,

Tarrant re-entered the bridge, smartly dressed in his full battle uniform. 'Ensign, give orders to our 76'ers. They may begin engagement upon following the Howe into standard battle formation.'

Following the Admiral's orders, the fleet lined up, and the three range-capable battleships, the Howe, Harwood, and Democracy,, moved into battle formation. Showing their port to the enemy, each ship slowing swung their guns around to face where GPS told them the Yurkan port was, and up to the maximum elevation of 45 degrees. It was the sight of a lifetime, something sailors onboard that fleet would never forget.

'Ready' Tarrant said over the PA. Several minutes later after orders relays, a number of crew of the fleet had their earmuffs on.

'Fire.' the Fleet Admiral roared!

In canon, one after another, each gun sounded off along the line as thick dense smoke clouded over the fleet. Eighty-five 76.25cm(30”) naval guns firing heavy rocket propelled shells, each clocking in at over six tons. A minute and a half later, the line fire erupted again. And again. The bombardment barely lasted twenty minutes, but already over 1,500 heavy shells had crashed down on the Yurkan port that had been viciously attacked by Juumanistran aircraft only a dozen hours ago.

‘That will do.’ Tarrant whispered as the last salvo fired its deadly cargo away.

‘Navigation, bring us around to face the Spizanians. Full speed, if you please. Comms, send the enemy a little present from the Indefatigable, if you please. Four squadrons. Arms, ready stern VLS. Give them a little present – oh, and make sure we have full air coverage.’

Following that order, four squadrons (100) of Sea Hurricane Mk2 interceptors shot off from catapults over the 19o ski ramp of the Indefatigable and skimmed their way over the waves at extremely low altitude, this plus their very low RCS and generous helpings of RAM, making them almost undetectable, towards the Whyatican fleet. In addition to this, two thousand heavy Alamein class AShMs speared their way out from the stern VLS of the Howe, soaring up high into the sky. Tarrant watched the missiles flare their way towards the Whyatican fleet with no envy for the sailors onboard the opposing ships. The Alamein would cruise fairly slowly in the air for a short time, properly allocating attack patterns to its target, and then speed down at mach 6 at a 38 degrees angle onto the target.

The Questarian fleet was covered in aircraft – at least two hundred Sea Hurricanes marking the skies for a hundred kilometres out, almost three dozen AWACs planes scanning the far distance, and squadron upon squadron of ASAC and ASW helicopters scanning the water. Complimenting this already powerful search capability, the sixty ‘Lake’ class RADAR picket destroyers, led by the HMS Ochtenbury mounted MASER, RADAR, LADAR, and SONAR equipment powerful enough to track an uncountable number of aircraft, missiles, and underwater targets including torpedoes, AND to track them back to a flagship, or any ship in danger, within seconds – the result of the fairly large vessel being almost covered in dishes, domes, and wires.

The Juuman advance into Yurka was slow. After only a few miles, the paved roads of Juuman-Yurkan frontier gave way to dirt roads and, a few miles beyond that, simple trails cut into mountain paths from years of wear and tear by human and pack animal feet. While the rank and file did grumble, this had been expected and planned for. The impasse would be secured and fortified and become a forward operating base. Heliborne elements would be inserted twenty-miles further down the trail, to secure another firing base. Then the stretch would be turned over the Juuman engineers, who had perfected combat road matting, to bridge the gap between the firing bases with a ribbon of two-lane road. All the while, they would advance with heavy air support from Si-56 Warhawks and CAS aircraft and with intense infantry patrols to ensure they could lay the matting with as little harassment as possible. And they would do this until they hit open ground and the division's mobility could be better leveled against the Yurkans.

And so they were slowed, but not deterred, methodically working their way through the obstacle that nature had thrown them....

*=*=*=*=*

In Freedomport and New Sanumi, Juuman replacements began to arrive. The President had, in light of the Juuman strike and the risks inherent in it, had ordered the deployment of additional aerial assets to the region, to be flown from the mainland to Skiberdeenia and then deployed in-country as needed. Furthermore, the strike's first bomber wave would not be returning home and would instead base itself out of the colonies, bringing badly needed strategic strike capabilities to Skiberdeenia.

Raptior, The Jewittist Republic

Behind the walls of the small four-story building, Presence Tower, rested a mass of politicians and military leaders. Thirty three national leaders, their compliments of representatives, and over a hundred generals and admirals from across the vast Republic gathered below.

Consumed by a coliseum-like under-structure, the mass were quiet, pressing a button each, one red, an other green, and the farthest blue.

"Mi amigos, all votes have been casted. May the rest of the Republic fall to your hands, or rise to our swords." Announced the Sectur as he, elevated by a hydraulic platform to be above half of the men and women, and below the other, in mid air in the central portions of the dome.

A holographic screen appeared on four sides of him, their lights reflecting onto his face. The screen showed on a light gray foreground three colors numbers.

In crimson was thirty, in blue two, and in lime green seventy eight. Majority won for what ever green represented.

Davenport, Jewittist Skibereen

The well-developed country under dependency of The Jewittist Republic looked more like Mexico than a paradise. It had the cities, but behind them laid farms and slums. The poor-rich country loved farming and corporate epicenters, but lacked everything else, and everything else was needed for daily life and operation.

A document was passed, however, that would change that. Something to stimulate the country's economy. The Jewittist Republic had declared intentions to mass on the Northern and Western borders with Jewittist Armed Forces (To keep Skibereen Forces as defence) as the majority of the numbers.

Questarian Commonwealth flags began to fly at the four Terramarine Bases across the coast. Sourland, Vevier, Sandersonville, and Verstumtruitt. Those flags symbolized the cooperation with the Questarian Commonwealth, an organization that the Republic has had its back to up until now. War on its borders was something the Republic hated, and with an organization it was fairly good with heading an assault, it had to step in and aid their "allies."

"In the will of God and Jewitt, we shall march onto the capitals of those who threaten our voice, and bring about their trials to Him!" Yelled out ceremonially Generalissimo Antonio Marique, the most experienced general and admiral in The Jewittist Republic. "We shall raise our rapiers, and free these people from their oppressors. Never again shall they have to fear their own voices, and never again will they have to fear their own protectors!"

Sailors, infantrymen, tank commanders, and pilots all cheered at Sourland Terramach Base where his speech was given, broadcasted across the country. "May Jewittism spread to our neighbors, may democracy be heard!"

With that, as with all war stories, a naval fleet of T-Boats (Jewittist Submarines) deployed out with their flags flying, even as submerging, to show the ocean's power over man, and the ability of man to overcome, something the culture of the Emeraldians held dearly.

Borders were maxed with defences and coastal guns, 45 inches each, were placed to defend areas of the coastline that were likely to attack, those who allowed Commonwealth Entree. The entire country was pushed into a war machine economy with Jewittist resources from across the world. Factories opened and unemployed and uneducated workers got a boost on their resumes as the government took in almost anyone who had two arms and could work ten to six on a five-day week.

Jewittist Skibereen was preparing for war, war that they thought would come for some time, but wished it would not.

To: Questarian Commonwealth Members
From: Presidente Fonzi Jewitt de Jewittist Republica
I know my contacts to your countries have been quite limited, however, I
wish to reconnect with all those in the Commonwealth by opening up every
military base and operational center along the Jewittist Skibereen coastline for
Commonwealth use, providing full protection by my own armed forces.

As I speak a T-Boat (Trumarine Boat; Submarine) Fleet is being deployed
from Sourland Terramach Base, just two miles from the actual capital of
Jewittist Kibereen, Davenport. Davenport Aoure Base is also open for cargo
and military transport planes. All international escort and safety regulations
apply to avoid confusion in safety and protection precautions.

All Jewittist Terramarine Vessels will be flying the Jewittist Republic's flag and
the Questarian Commonwealth's own seal below it, as to identify itself.

May the future unfold in democracy.

OOC: Questers. I'll consider that entire naval movement godmodding. As you've more or less not even posted any ships leaving, and the fact that they magically appeared during a naval battle which has only been going on IC for at most about a day or two makes it kinda impossible. Lets take this to the OOC board though. Truitt, as long as you don't start moving troops near the Eastern Border you won't have to worry about massive missile salvos targetting your major cities.

Orion Naval Base

The port was unprepared...

The base was alive at night, as it was at day, all eyes on the massive aircraft that had left only hours ago to combat the enemy. Altedeis Vento hadn't slept ever since the Juumanistran invasion force began to make war on the Northernmost portions of Yurka's colony. Such a thing was almost completely unprecedented! Being attacked by a Democracy so quickly, and during the Youth Patrol's War Games?! It was all over the press, and really interupted the Duels, even the Championship was postponed...

"I'll have to have my Hans record it." The Commander said quietly to himself as he thought of his butler, probably sitting around doing absolutely nothing while Altredeis was out in this hellhole fighting with unenlightened barbarians, "I wonder what the Empire has planned..."

Outside of the base, the small amount of ships and submarines were still going about being checked on, only a few ships online should an attack occur. Nobody suspected such a thing though, Yurka had never been attacked before, they were too strong. People feared them for their honor and noble routes, not to mention their massive navy, which they were assured would be coming any day now...

Then the base lit up as the first of the missiles slammed into one of the few aircraft carriers, causing an enormous explosion as it caught fire to the refueling plane, as dozens more blasts followed a second after, whipping across the unprepared naval base as the sirens suddenly began to blast the warning signal. Unfortunately, most of the small airbases to the North had already been launched to fight in the naval battle, so the only things going up against the massive Juumanistra attack were a sparse amount of Vanguard VTOLs that somehow managed to launch from the decks, along with the Yurkan Class Dreadnought, which fired dozens upon dozens of missile salvos into the air, bursting in enormous spectacles of light and smoke as all around it the entire base began to burn under the naval and aerial attacks.

The small amount of lights in the base were almost immediately cut for a split second as the backup generators were hit, large dome-shaped apparatus spaced out around the base. This was followed by an immediate resurge of lighting as it reconnected to the city's power grid. Unfortunately, the Power Plant was their next target.

"What the hell is going on?!" Altredeis shouted as he rushed out of the control room just as another earth-rattling explosion rocked the base, followed by screams and the sound of instruments catching fire, "Are our fighters up there?! Anyone?!"

The interior of the installation was wracked with large holes, bodies and pieces of bodies strewn everywhere as an officer rushed forward, nearly tripping over a single leg as he held a reddened cloth to his forehead. Meanwhile, outside the explosions continued.

"S-sir! Al of our VTOLs... The ones we could launch are up there... But the Alia Class aircraft carriers are..." The man couldn't continue as he fell forward under a closer blast smacking into the ground, "G-gone..."

"Gah! I want all of Nershalm's(the city) anti-aircraft weaponry armed and ready!"

"I'm sure they're already getting tha-" The man began to speak as another enormous blast smacked through the fortified walls, "Aerrrghhh!!!"

The city was loaded with a little over a hundred anti-aircraft vehicles, as they slowly pulled out of the military owned parking garages hidden amongst the civilian interior. In the skies above, the nearly sixty or so fighters which could be launched immediately were already up in the air with their minimally equipped missiles. Though due to the speed of the strike, and the fact that most of the planes were retired, it was unlikely they would make enough of a difference. Still, they would hold them off as much as they could, and as Nershalm's skies lit up with anti aircraft fire, every now and then hitting their target and either destroying it outright or sending it crashing downward, the aircraft put up a modestly good fight, lasting nearly ten minutes before the last of them were either swept aside or sent crashing downward.

The Nuclear Power Plant was an immense, well-defended beacon of what Yurka stood for: Stability, Power, and Prosperity. With immense walls surrounding it, and a fair amount of anti-aircraft modules hidden behind them, they were able to take out a small amount of the aircraft, but were more or less designed to take out significantly smaller amounts of aircraft, rather than the Juumanistran force. Should the Northern Base not have launched all of its aircraft previously, it would have been more than enough to push them back, but as the missiles smacked into the cement structure, cracking holes into it, a low alarm began to roar through the air.

Power Plant "Regulus"

Chaos filled the immense structure as the hundreds of workers on the night shift began to tap away at their consoles and a lockdown occured. The Regulus Type of Plant was created to prevent another Yurka City I from ever occuring again, and to maintain this it was necessary that evacuations could not occur unless the lockdown was manually overrided by the Plant's head. The Reactor Cores themselves were also slowly lowered, further than they usually were to better protect the city beyond.

Control Center Alpha (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/Kutulmak/Galerianzlab11.jpg)

Director Ridley looked forward at the monitors in outrage, "Why aren't they lowering fast enough?! We need to minimize the cities damage as much as possible! What the hell are our anti-aircraft guns doing out there?!"

"Sir! We've lost contact with them!" A random voice shouted down the immense shaft, impossible to detect through the wave of labcoats and technicians.

"Good lord! We've got a leak in sector D-30! I'm closing them off! It appears to be lethal!" A man's voice shouted from behind Ridley as he tapped away at the security grid, "...Sir Ridley... They're still not lowering..."

"What?! They should be moving by now!" The gray haired man snarled as he turned, immediately growing pale as he saw the single scenario he had had nightmares about ever since he was transferred there, "Oh no... Why is it rising? The controls should have automatically set it to lower..."

"Sir, we've been cut off by one of the blasts... Its all over..."

"Fuck...

In an instant the crumbling power plant lit up in an immense, ominous nuclear green as the entire ground disintegrated in on itself. What remained of the massive facility shattered in on itself immediately, falling into the nuclear ooze as the nuclear reactors suddenly exploded, setting off an immense chain reaction which would be heard for miles around, the elderly who had survived the Yurka City I would know what had happened, along with the police agencies.

Those within 6.5 miles wouldn't know what hit them, completely vaporised as the explosion sent unbelievable amounts of radiation and destruction in every direction, causing the ground to literally shake a seventy miles in every direction. Within 11 miles 60% percent of the population were killed, despite the precautions the city had in place, including numerous walls and a specially constructed cement used to shelter everyone. Within 30 miles of the blast, ten percent of the populace were exposed to dangerous amounts of thermal radiation, while the rest were unaffected.

Immediately a massive evacuation began to take place, as even while the aerial fight was taking place, thousands of military and hospital transports rushed through the cities taking in survivors. They were made up of hospital workers, Youth Patrol members, and volunteers, along with a smaller amount of military personnel not already manning the anti-aircraft guns. Most wore radiation suits, though a few were in too much of a rush to obtain them, and rushed into the nuclear holocaust as they were, exposing themselves to dangerous levels of radiation to save survivors. The only light source were the vehicles, and the occasional fire which had occured. Watching it all were over a dozen Yurkan News Agencies, who also assisted in saving the occasional survivor they came across as they did their reports less than an hour after the accident occured...

Out of the fourteen people living in the city, only 3 million were completely snuffed out by the blast, and another 2 million were injured, while another full million were unaccounted for or missing, more than likely dead as well.

The evacuation was centralised on two locations, the hospitals, with their backup generators, and the massive railway networks which, despite lack of power, still had some backup energy left over to move those who needed to leave most, essentially the very young and the very old. After one million of these people were sent on ahead, leaving their families behind, the remaining trains could no longer transport anymore people. At least not untill they were hooked up to an additional power source...

Many people attempted to walk along the few sideroads which curved farthest away from the irradiated zone, as Youth Patrol Members attempted to prevent them from doing this, as there were not settlements along the way. However, they were unable to stop them, and huge masses of people left this way, as military APCs remained at their sides with anti-aircraft vehicles to protect them from any perceived threats.

Northern Aerial Battle

The aircraft immediately opened fire with immense salvos of missiles as soon as they came into contact with the planes from the Macabees, as the anti-aircraft vehicles in the surrounding airfields quickly moved forward to assist the massive aerial force in doing battle with the invaders. Within the first five minutes, thirty of the planes were shot down by the skilled Macabee pilots, who were outnumbered almost to an obsene degree before the Juumanistran fighters began to appear on the battle front.

The Western City of Bedlam was ready however, and once they were detected, all anti-aircraft weapons prepared themselves to prevent the enemy from returning, and small missile bays likewise opened. They were then outfitted with EMPs, perfect for taking out the enormous aerial fleet should they increase in number of Yurka's pilots need to retreat.

As the Juumanistra fleet opened up with their missiles, sending four hundred aircraft immediately from the skies in a hellfire of explosions as the darkened sky lit up for a moment, showcasing the massive amount of fighters overhead. As the Vanguards quickly responded with an immense salvo of their own, firing two each, the battle for air supremacy over the Preta Colony began...

Colonial Capital Preta

The massive black city was lit up with reports of what had been going on all over their territory. The invaders had launched numerous precision attacks against the colony, and had gone so far as to attack the port city's power plant, causing mass nuclear fall-out over the area. Most of the reports were showing piles of dead bodies, and the dying convulsing in the streets, their organs ruptured from the shockwave. The populace, to put it frankly, were both horrified and outraged. The foreign barbarians continued to attack without provocation, seemingly without regard for the strong, noble Yurkan people.

The Colonial Office Building was likewise full of anger and outrage as newly appointed colonial leader Azaria Preta sat along a large black table exchanging shouts with the advisors, especially the one from Yurkan Nuclear. Along with this were plans ranging from launching nuclear missiles at the enemy for irradiating Yurka's Port City, to a full-out invasion backed by the Yurkan Mainland.

"This is an outrage! What the hell happened?! Millions of people are dead because of that plant! I thought the Regulus was perfect! You told me it had more than enough failsafes to stand up to a military attack at our last meeting!" Azaria shouted across the table as he banged a hand against the hard metal structure, a loud crack resonating from the room as his hand met it, "Why? How can we expect the colonists to trust in our protection when something like this happens? Those lives are not only on the hands of those filthy invaders, but they are on our hands as well..."

"S-sir... The attack was too quick. I doubt the personnel at the plant were expecting the attack, and the first salvos disabled toe command center before it could be lowered... If that hadn't happened..." The advisor from Yurkan Nuclear was in tears as he looked over at a pile of documents in front of him, "The failsafes should have worked... Someone must have manually attempted to fix things themselves and messed up. I-is the evacuation going alright?"

"Yes. Though we have nowhere to place them. The radiation within miles of the plant will be lethal for years. We'll need to use one of those mobile power stations to take care of the trains there. We'll need to move those people outward. Also, House Preta has informed me that next month is the Noble's Vote."

"Azaria, perhaps we can move them from Truitt, before they begin to show outward aggression I mean." A woman said quietly from a seat to the man's right, "Also, about Operation Imperial Wave... Once the aerial battle is over with we will begin moving all First Class Citizens to the Colonial Capital to await evacuation, as is their right as colonists here."

"I suppose we can ask Truitt, and if they reject us? What should we do? Its not as if those butchers in Juumanistra will listen to us. Even now they're planning to wipe us out with their forces..." The Colonial Head muttered quietly as he leaned back in his chair, "They're rejected all claims at peace, even after attacking us... When the Emperor returns he will not be happy about this. All we've been doing so far is defending ourselves, yet they continue their onslaught. Once the aerial battle is over we'll need to begin making preparations for a land invasion."

"Agreed." A military General said from the far side of the table, "If Truitt refuses us we will need to take their port by force. It is the only way to uphold the promise of protection to our people. Stability, Control, Power."

"Control brings Stability, Stability brings Power, Power maintains Control." The Colonial head whispered, staring at the group, "Agreed. I will inform them immediately of our needs."

Imperial Message to Truitt from the Eternal Empire
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y21/Kutulmak/Avatar3.jpg

Greetings from the Eternal Empire of Yurka,
It is with great regret that I must request such a thing from a nation we have had nearly no dealings with up to this point, especially one which we assume may have some anti-Yurkan sentiments, as your recent movements have shown. As you have no doubt noticed recently, one of our cities was sneak attacked by a Juumanistran attack force and managed to cause one of our largest power plants to melt down...

Seeing as they have destroyed our sole port, we urgently need to move the populace from that area before the fallout gets more severe. We would be willing to pay you for the use of one of your ports so that we can slowly begin evacuating the eight million or so survivors. Of course this will only be a civilian movement, and we will not be moving any significant number of soldiers with them, other than for their own protection.

This is an urgent and sincere request, and the colony of Yurka needs to protect her people from outside threats, and with the lack of power to the city in question, there is no way that the populace can be protected at this point from future attacks. I myself beg of you to allow these people to move through your borders and be evacuated, for at any moment a significant amount of wind or the like may move the radiation further, endangering the peaceful people under my protection.

I remind you that this will not be a military manuever, and will be strictly civilian.

Azaria Preta,
Noble House Preta,
Colonial Leader

Naval Battle

The massive Juumanistran strike did not go unnoticed by the Whyatican fleet, indeed, the underwater CIWS systems onboard each and every vessel were meant to target torpedos very far underneath the waves, but accuracy was so low at the depths that it wasn't worthwhile. The huge torpedo strike was targetted by the CIWS systems at 5 miles out, and the majority of the strike was beaten by the Whyatican defenders, however, 110 PGT.1 TORER torpedos still struck the outer rungs of the tier, sinking 108 Mayhem-class destroyers instantly.

The Surface-To-Air missile launchers of the fleet, moving off of targetting the enemy fighters, detected the HARSM threat and unloaded a salvo of anti-missile interceptors, taking out about 60% of them before they even got within CIWS range. The CIWS systems, however, were more concentrated on Spizanian missiles and other Juumanistran torpedos and were essentially unable to defend against them. 78 Marduk-class Missile Destroyers were impacted, and 3 Emperia class Battleships found themselves unable to use main guns or half their CIWS systems.

The next wave of missile-launched torpedos made the Whyatican fleet a little desperate. They stole a tactic out of the Yurkan book, and launched several high-speed small-yield nuclear surface-to-air missiles at the incoming missiles, destroying over 4,000 missiles in the first wave. The SAM launchers and CIWS systems destroyed a further 1,500, but 500 torpedos hit the water and dove heavily.

The Mimir class tracking ships tracked them beneath the ocean, and the Torment submarines launched dozens of point-defense torpedos when targetting information was fed to them to by the tracking ships. They destroyed 300 torpedos, but 200 impacted the tiers. 78 Mayhem and Marduk class destroyers were destroyed, and the Annihilator-class Super-Dreadnaught was impacted by five torpedos. It shook heavily, and numerous watertight bulkheads were closed off instantly. Two dozen sailors drowned when the torpedos ripped holes in their section of the ship, and they went out to sea..

In the Darkthrone II, the Grand Admiral saw that the battle was going against him. He ordered one full salvo at the Spizanian lead dreadnaught, and gave a general order across the remainders of the battered fleet;

All Whyatican ships are to withdraw to Whyatican waters at Numonica. All aircraft are to return to their carriers immediately.

The fleet turned around, and hit the maximum sprint of 40 knots within a few minutes. The missiles continued to roar at Spizanian dreadnaughts and Juumanistran dreadnaughts, and they flew at Spizanian and Juumanistran aircraft. The 4,000 Vanguard Virage aircraft in the air unloaded their last missiles and bombs on the Spizanians, and turned around and hit the proverbial gas pedal. The ECM systems on the Virages engaged to attempt to deal with the huge amounts of missiles flying towards them, but many couldn't survive the waves, and 897 aircraft fell beneath the waves, succumbing to Juumanistran aircraft fire and Spizanian naval fire.

Battered and broken, the Whyatican fleet withdrew, leaving the waters to the Juumanistrans and their allies..

Whyatican Northern Forts, 10 Kilometers from Spizanian Border

On the massive spiderweb system of railways connecting every fortified position in Whyatican Skiberdeenia to every other one, the rail operators saw the scariest sight of their lives.

20,000 Sardaukar Phase Fours shuffled through the rail systems to the five closest forts on the Spizanian border. Following them were fifty thousand of the inferior Sardaukar Phase Threes. Unholy machinations of man and metal, these Sardaukar were meant to be the initial shock forces for the Whyatican invasion of Spizanian Skiberdeenia. Following these were one hundred thousand of the grunt forces of Whyatica, the Capitol Police. From New Haven, 90,000 Kriegsmarines massed in the five fortresses along the border. Thousands of VTOL carriers cruised in with Leman Russ and Emperor tanks, dropping them off in tank depots that were being filled to the brim. All-in-all, twenty seven hundred tanks were dropped off, ranging from Diablo light tanks to Emperor superheavy tanks.

From thousands of heavy missile launchers, Earthshaker missiles were fired at vital Spizanian infrastructure, such as power plants, fuel stations, food depositories, ammo dumps, airfields, and military bases.

The Basilisk heavy artillery, coupled with 18" Border Defense guns, fired the first rounds across the Spizanian border, targetted at known Spizanian defense guns and defensive positions. The bombardment would continue for several hours prior to the armoured drive..

After the bombardment ceased after 4 hours of constant firing, the first Diablos and Minesweeper vehicles were prepared to cross the border. They leapt out of the tank depots of the fortress at their maximum speed of 50mph and 55mph respectively, followed by a huge wave of Leman Russ battle tanks, behind which were a smaller wave of Emperor class heavy battle tanks.

Behind those were a solid line of APCs, carrying 15 Sardaukar Phase 4s apiece, and when the armoured division had successfully taken ground over the border, they would unload their cargo, ready to deal death upon the Spizanians...

New Haven
"Commander, the Yurkans want our assistance, they're being invaded by the Juumans!" a private said at his post.

"Order 75,000 Kriegsmarines and 90,000 Capitol Police to take the rails to Preta, send a comm to the Yurkan military commander that they can use the Capitol Police and Kriegsmarines as they see fit.."

"Aye, sir."

From barracks all across New Haven, Capitol Police and Kriegsmarines boarded railway stations, shuffling across the rail lines, heading to the Yurkan capital of Preta...

Triborder Area Air Battle

"All planes, bogeys incoming!" Captain Abdul Rex said over the radio system of the Whyatican Air Battalion. Nearly a thousand Juumanistran planes had moved to intercept them, and launched twice that many missiles.

"Evasive maneuvers!"

The 1,000 Vanguard Virages shot to max speed and turned on ECM systems to counter the threat. Some Vanguards slowed down to maneuvering speed and attempted to perform fancy flying tricks that would put the most seasoned pilot to shame. Some succeded and forced their missiles to target each other, while others failed miserably and ended up colliding with other missiles at Mach 3. Overall, 98 Vanguards fell to the air wave, and 12 more were damaged, and set their course back to Wayne Field for repairs.

The remaining Vanguards came back with a vengeance, launching "Stalker" AtA missiles at the Juumanistran warplanes. They aimed to annihilate the Juumanistrans and then head back on course to helping Yurka...

Though if they're attacked during the retreat the thousand+ aircraft would more or less be obligated to engage whats going up against them. A response to the Juumanistrans coming through the mountains will follow later today. For the sake of hitting as many targets as possible all of Yurka's missile systems will wait untill they're at the fringes and can't easily go back. Though of course thats Secret IC. ;)

The defenders of the first line rushed to their stations and manned their heavy weapons as the first shells rained down, blasting apart whatever bunkers they hit to close too.
Then the massive enemy tanks appeared.
"All Batteries target and Fire!"
155mm and 105mm Howitzers trained on enemy posistions and fired back at the enemy artillery

155mm Anti-Tank Guns and Truckmounted AGM-262 ATGM launchers fired as the first enemy tanks appeared in their sights. 110mm Recoiless Rifles shot as they attempted to destroy the enemy vehicles.

Then the heaviest tanks they had ever seen appeared infront of their posistions
"We need help, we cannot hold much longer.........." The first line commander croaked into his radio even as an enemy tank crushed his dugout.
Broken by the enemy armour the defenders rushed back to the second line, which being much more heavily defended and better prepared for the assualt began firing hundreds of AP rounds into the enemy vehicles.
"Saudaukar! Saudaukar!"
"Charlie-Baker-One, this is Sierra-Charlie-Two. Requesting Immediate Seirra-Kilo Artillery Strike on coordinates Alpha-1 Range 255"
"Charlie Baker One, Confirm Sierra Kilo"
"Confirm Sierra Kilo"
"Acknoledged Charlie Baker One"
Hundreds of 155 and 105mm howitzers trained on the advancing Saudaukar and discharged thousands of DPICM rounds, each carried 72 submunitions, designed primarily for use against light vehicles, they should kill the advancing Saudaukar, if they didnt nothing would.

Dozens of SP 35mm Cannon tracked on the Saudaukar and started firing APSE rounds into the chests of Saudaukar asfast as they could. 110mm Recoiless Rifles were loaded with HE-Frags and fired into the oncomming mass while Anti-Tank guns fired at the enemy armour in a desperate attempt to avoid them supporting the Saudaukar

In the fortress city of Ionria the bombardment had knocked thirty five of the cities 36 reactors, their emergeancy containment procedures enacted, only that protected the populace from another event like that had occured far to the south only a few hours ago.
Across the city the backup tubines started up, channeling waste gas into the greenhouse loops which would distrubute it across the city before releasing it. The normal airvents closed and air ventilation was switched to take place only through massive denaturing heaters, that would render most bio attacks useless, but would be useless against chemical weapons, or gasseous radiological weapons, radioactive dust would be caught by the filters on the air intake.

The first line broken on the first sight of the Whyatican armoured drive, the Whyatican armour rushed past the retreating Spizanian soldiers, shooting at Spizanians left and right as they advanced. Basilisk heavy artillery continued to fire at enemy artillery, and every now and then a shell impacted near a Basilisk and took it out of the action as combat engineers frantically tried to repair it.

The Spizanians, in their attempts to rush to their own defense, had vastly underestimated the unrelenting waves of heavy Whyatican armour. An Emperor class took a 110mm recoilless rifle shot in front-center, shrugged it off, targetted it's 185mm ETC gun at the offending Spizanian, and fired. Assault cannons on the first wave of Emperors fired into Spizanian infantry clusters, and the entire convoy slowed down as the Emperors took the limelight. Spizanian artillery and heavy armour in particular were targetted by the superheavy Whyatican tanks.

As the Emperors slowly advanced, Sardaukar slowly began to exit their APCs. Most stayed within the safety of their armour, as the artillery bombardment would make mincemeat out of even the toughest Sardaukar. The few that went out, though, painted Spizanian soldiers with their laser designators and opened fire using their assault cannons.

A Sardaukar Phase 4 had a submunition impact it in the arm, taking the arm entirely off. The Concremo designed necrovirus sealed the hole, and it continued, albeit slightly lopsided due to the loss of it's arm. Another submunition ripped through the Sardaukar's head, and the necrovirus sealed off the stump as it fell to the ground.

Leman Russ and Diablo battle tanks, using the heavier Emperors as cover, fired their 105mm ETC guns at enemy armour and raked the Spizanian trenches with machine gun fire.

The Spizanian response, though, would not go unnoticed, as a massive series of ATGM and recoilless rifle fire slammed into the front of an Emperor, crippling it. Assault cannon fire continued to pour out of it, trying to destroy as many Spizanian infantry as possible before it was destroyed.

In an airfield near the Whyatican-Spizanian border, 1,000 Vanguard Virage aircraft were launched to support the armoured drive. From their high altitude, they dropped 5,000 kilo bombs, launched AtS missiles, and some more daring pilots attempted to rake the ground using their 30mm Vulcan cannons.

APCs continued to advance closer to the Spizanian line, under the cover of the Emperors and the Leman Russ tanks. From the Whyatican side of the Whyatica-Spizania border, 18" defensive guns targetted Spizanian artillery and fixed defenses, and began to pour huge amounts of munitions at them.

From New Haven and Inner Fortified, another massive missile wave came out, this time targetted at air vents in particular, but large high-rises were also targetted this time. There would be no punch pulled with the Spizanian army..

For the beginning of the assault, the Whyaticans were doing excellently, for only 4 Diablo light tanks, 3 Leman Russ, and 2 Emperor tanks had fallen. 94 Sardaukar fell to artillery fire, and 9 Basilisks were damaged from the return damage..

Yurka, So you want my ports for civilian relocation or what? I am all up for aiding your citizens. I never hold problems with people, it is the governments I target, not them.

I will be equally massing on all borders, but not right on the line, some 40 or so nautical miles away. Massing on the line I consider a pre-emptive declaration of war.

As a nit pick, Truitt does not exist, the nation is The Jewittist Republic, or TJR for short. Truitti people are my race that rests in my nation, but for simplicity (since I joined so late) I'll keep non-character RPing set as humans.

The coastal defence guns deployed, 45 inch in size, watched carefully as logistical ships and personnel for Jewittist-owned Factories were unloaded. Just along the Yurkan-Jewittist Coastal Waterline T-Boats ran silent, the concrete-covered Portshire-class SSKs made their way along the lines and out past the coastal limits of 12 miles, watching for any Yurkan penitration into Republican Rule.

Aircraft flew now along the borderline, transmitting peacefully frequencies as not to provoke a border air war, staing just behind the border, watching and scanning for any bombers that may attempt to cross.

Jewittist Skibereen, a developing Republic, still had its share of economic and urban centers, and they all would severely crush Jewittist investments on this side of the world. The Republic was doing all it could to enforce its status as a Commonwealth member, and a paranoid unique state.

As Oured-class SSNs skimmed the waters, something large passed over the seaways, a massive flat-decked vessel with the impressions "JMV 412 Vanguard," it was the third Voodoo-class CVN built by the Terramarine, a dual-decked Nimitz-class to some American designers with much more advanced systems and dynamics.

The 5th Jewittist Territorial Enforcement Task Force, or TETF 5, was entering Skibereenean Coastal Waters. Two T-Boats, not registered in the Territorial Waterway Directory (as with the majority of the Federal-Owned Jewittist T-Boats deployed to the region), came up alongside the TETF and guided it, one on the port and other on starboard, to Sourland Terramach Base, their new base of operations until the conflict in the area came to a close.

The Republic was preparing for a defencive war.

Yurka-Truitt Border

One of the black uniformed guards looked over the mass of people as they crowded along the final border checkpoint, having arrived by train over the last week or so before taking the military transports further along the mountain border into Truitt. All in all, there were roughly twenty million First Class Citizens involved in the first Imperial Wave, with a small amount of undercover agents to make sure this was not some type of trap. Behind them, further from the border, a large array of hidden missiles were aiming at the largest cities within range.

Within another two months the second class citizens would be expelled as well, leaving the small third class citizens to take care of the colony. It was for the glory of Yurka that her most hardworking citizens be sent ahead to the mainland, as the Empire promised protection to all of her people above all else. Despite all that has happened, and the fact that the war machine already within Yurka would function much better with them, this duty to their more important of peoples was still held higher than that. The Third Degree Citizens and the non-combative soldiers could take care of the rest.

The right flank was collapsing back in on itself, the men on that side simply unable to hold the enemy advance. The left flank fared better, the Recoiless Rifle and Missile trucks concentrating their fire on the enemy vehicles, bringing them down one at a time.
The 35mm Cannon kept firing APSE rounds into the oncomming Saudaukar, hoping a shell might lodge in their chest and blow it apart, while they were hammered from above by the Submunitions falling on thier heads.

Then the Right Flank suddenly collapsed, the regiment their turning and running, abandoning their emplacements and a large number of thier vehicles. A company or so rallied into one of the adjacent units, and using the Tagus ATGM launchers they hastily pulled from packing boxes they began using the heavier weapons to try and inflict damage on the enemy vehicles.
Adjacent Regiments fell back to prevent the line breaking, the problem was that a corridor was being formed towards the city. Units piled in, digging into to posistions, unable to stop the breach but able to stop them breaking into open countryside.

At the city, hundreds of VTOLs fired out of their skyscraper hangars, rushing into the air to engage the enemy aircraft. 3 Superlongrange SAMs were launched at each of the enemy aircraft in the sky, they would clear the sky of fighters and then set to work harrasing the enemy ground forces

Raptior, Capitallia, The Jewittist Republic

The war in the Skibereen Colonies was erupting out of control, and just recently had The Republic opened up mention in her little territory of Jewittist Skibereen had a report come in on the sides. The Golden Throne, an understood rival yet ally in economic affairs and past political conflicts, and The Questarian Commonwealth, a monarchic organization that Presidente Jewitt himself had kept distant from as not to break his "Republic First" campaign slogan.

Yet on the other side were two newcomers. Yurka, a relatively new nations, compared by authority figures while in interviews to countries with less-privileged citizens, a Second World country. Although this may not have been true, it was said, regardless. The second contender was Xeraph. Information had not yet come in on whether or not they were allied with The Commonwealth's efforts, an effort the Presidente had mentioned he was with, or with the Yurkans and Whyaticans.

Regardless, he had sour relations with Xeraph, an opposing side to the outcome of the World War that had just ended some years earlier where Comatica was given a naval defeat by the proud Atlantic Terramarine of the Republic. Xeraph was an enemy to The Jewittist Republic politically, simply for their support of Comatica.

The motion was set, and in the upper levels of the military and government, namely the FIA (Federal Intelligence Agency), were to find any and all information on Xeraph's goals in this region of the world, a region that the Jewittists did not want rivals in.

Davenport, Jewittist Skibereen (Capital)

The city was in high alert. It was not due to the fact of invading Yurkans, nor the acceptance of a naval assault from a foe of unknown nationality, but due to a Yurkan Refugee who had a background in government study and found career linking in many fields of local governments. Upon interrogation, it was irrelevant that he was hiding something, and that he was an undercover Yurkan Agent.

This caused mandatory background checks from the Yurkan Government, a heightened alert, and the primitive anti-ballistic missile network to be activated. Jewittist Skibereen might see a defencive war with missiles being used, of which it had not a single silo, only a semi-efficient missile defence system across the territory.

The heightened alert also prompted more classes of naval vessels which could intercept low-flying cruise missiles and more automated CIWS systems in both naval and ground stations.

No more forces, however, were deployed to the borders. All were now either patrolling the cities and Judittsnachts across the territory where Yurkan citizens were being sent to, all along the border with Yurka, spanning the entire border.

The poorly-constructed housings were constantly being built onto to make more stable and efficient. Yurkan Refugees were given government-issued jobs of construction of these facilities for any other people once the "First Class" citizens crossed.

Although there was no hatred to the Yurkans nor was there abuse in the jobs, as they were at the same standards as a common Republican would have in his own work environment, a resentment was formed between Skiberean and Yurkan, the natives and immigrants. It as not aggressive, but it was a racist hatred. Some formed lies that due to government need for jobs for the Yurkans, that Skibereans were laid off, which was false, but it was just more fuel for activists who were left-winged Sochists, who put Jewittists first, then refugees and what not.

Vandalism also came to the facilities, although the culprits were mostly never caught, it was unknown to as which of the two groups were committing the crimes, as equal numbers were caught on both sides. This furthered the strain on the Jewittist Skiberean Government to provide middle class-worth facilities for their guests.

However, in all, the refugees were kept care of as a Republican would. Yet, something troubled not the federal government, but the more territorial one, the class system which the people were sent.

To: Yurkan Government, Refugee Transfer Center
From: Jewittist Skibereen, Premier Iosif Vissarionovich

It has come to my attention that you have sent your refugees of war in a
class system, which my information does not show any evidence of support
for this. What has made the "First Class" put there, and who makes up the
"Second Class" and the stand-still "Third Class"?

This is simply a topic of interest as mine as to your nation, as I wish to learn
more if we are to cooperate in the future.

Signed Respectively,
Premier Iosif Vissarionovich de el Jewittist Skibereen

With that message, came a change. The shipyards in Sourland and Davenport Terramach Bases were all beginning construction on a new design sent through, the K10 Torpedo Boat, the first Jewittist Torpedo Boat developed out of federal command. It was souly a modification project by the Skiberean military right after the outbreak of war for a fast and responsive assault boat with less than ten men on board.

The two shipyards, capable of repairing a capital ship and construct four K10 Torpedo Boats at once, were given their orders to construct four each, eight in all. It would take two months to construct each batch, but a fleet of eight would be formed before this month was over with a jump start earlier the month, with the official building given that day.

The territory was developing its own independent navy, for when the Jewittist Federals felt that their naval presence was no longer needed to protect their investments overseas.

Along with these changes, came Farbini, the largest city, which had the Republic's fourth largest factory complex, which was defended, and could construct up to thirty Merkava Medium Battle Tanks in a month in peacetime hours, which it currently had. It too began construction.

Airfields also began having bought private aircraft, namely Cessna 175s and Beech 340s, and they were strapped with remote assistance cameras, which they would fly around the border under a recreational flight plan, not showing its militaristic means of intelligence and warning of invaders.

OOC: Yurka has no reason to attack you Truitt, so it probably won't happen unless it becomes defensive. Eventually however, we'll depopulate the entire colony by the look of things. IC:

Thankfully, most of the Yurkan Agents would not be caught so easily, since they were more or less stereotypical Yurkan citizens, including the lack of identification. The only way to physically tell that one was in fact an agent was the small government issued handgun and the fact that the microchip, which all First and Second Class citizens had implanted within their person, had encrypted data saying exactly what their current profession was, along with all other data that the government was aware of. The remaining ones would dispose of their weapons immediately as soon as the first few were noticed; though their job was simply to keep an eye on the citizens and to make sure they don't bring shame or cause the citizenry to become swayed by any insane foreign ideals. In short, they were there to make sure that all of the well-dressed, first-class citizens made it to the large hollowed out tankers which would bring the people back home.

Most of the Yurkan citizens however, would find the work degrading, among other things, since the Yurkan paradigm did in fact have a somewhat moderate amount of racism with it. They viewed themselves as a superior people, and viewed their homeland back on the mainland their current goal. Most had families back in Yurka, and almost all of the First Class citizens were members of the Noble Houses of Yurka. To do manual labor for foreigners was almost unbelievable!

Upon receiving the message from Premier Iosif Vissarionovich, a response was eventually dispatched. Things would get complicated if they explained the intricacies of life in Yurka, so they would make it as basic as possible, trying to not sound in any way as hierachal as it actually was, at least as far as the Third Class was concerned...

To: Jewittist Skibereen, Premier Iosif Vissarionovich
From: Yurkan Government, Refugee Transfer Center

There is nothing to worry about. Our Class System is in no way as oppressive as it must obviously sound to a foreigner. To put it simply, our First Class Citizens are our most valued and loyal to Yurka, and most hold prominent roles in society, along with ties to our political system. To become a First Class Citizen one must have done extraordinary things in his youth to achieve the honor, so in a way they are the most educated or the hardest working as discovered by their citizen cards and our government database.

Our Second Class is also like this, in the fact that they too were raised and born into Yurka's society, but at some point transgressed or did not reach their potential, whether educationally or professionally. They have not met the standards of a First Class Citizen, and are thus Second Class Citizens untill such a time that they wish to change. Its really nothing other than that.

The Third Class Citizens are not actual citizens, and are foreigners or those who have done a major crime, which had been proven to 100% factuality. The foreign born can later become 2nd Class Citizens should they meet the average educational requirements and are willing to be microchipped. Untill such a time they are only permitted to live in our colonies.

Also, should you need any financial assistance to house the Citizens, we are willing to pay for temporary housing and food untill they can leave the colonies and return to Yurka.

With the hope that this satisfies you,
Yurkan Government Refugee Center, Alexiel Preta

As the document was finished, large civilian transport vessels began to move through the colonies towards Truitt, minimally armed with police officers and medical teams to make sure that the civilians were alright and well-taken care of. The waves of ships were nearly in their thousands, with small frigates to protect them from any enemy vessels, along with a small contingent of sixty Agua Class Submarines which waited in international waters.

By the time the naval force was ready to take the First Class Citizens, the nearly 60 or so million people would go in groups of twenty million each, and behind them would be civilian construction vehicles to assist them in anyway possible, and as well as more undercover agents.

As the Spizanian right flank collapsed, the armoured advance shifted directions and speed and aimed to slice through the open corridor. Emperor class superheavy tanks fired heavy rounds at anti-tank positions, while sending hot lead at every angle ahead of them from their assault cannons. Some Emperors were hit and damaged by the massive flood of anti-tank fire, and some more were immobilized, becoming stationary gun platforms until they were destroyed.

In the skies, however..

An early detection system in orbit detected several hundred aircraft launches, and a ground-based RADAR station confirmed it.
"Admiral, multiple enemy launches detected!" a pilot said over his C/B.

"Deploy all countermeasures. All AtA equipped fighters are to engage the Spizanian fighter launches, over." the Wing Admiral said over his radio.

"Roger, Admiral." came ringing back across the radio systems.

250 of the Vanguard Virage jets broke off of the main attack run and fired their stand-off missiles at the oncoming Spizanian VTOL aircraft. The SAM launches from the Spizanian static launchers shot through the sky, annihilating 43 fighters before the ECM systems came online and dropped the remaining missiles from the sky. The remaining fighters continued to drop bombs and fire AtS missiles at the Spizanian lines..

Back on the ground, the advance continued, inexorably. The first Chimaera flamethrower tanks hit the Spizanian lines, and began their primary function; setting fire to trenches. The bluish flames emitted would char any soldier caught badly, and it would probably kill them..

Basilisk heavy artillery continued to rain counterfire down at the Spizanian artillery lines as they attempted to give cover fire for the armoured advance that was now breaking through the Spizanians..

The events in Jewittist Skibereen were as usual for refugees. They worked on their own housings, with massive bunks of twenty or so of the same gender or family line in a single facitility, until further accomodies were made for comfort.

Luxery, unfortunately, was not at the top of the Jewittist Department of War Safety's, established as a counter-part of the Geneva Convention (which was never signed by The Republic), list of priorities. In fact, food and running water with a roof over one's head was the only consern. All hopes were that the Yurkans would aid in paying for the construction materials and food, although most food was government-possesed rations from the communes across the Skibereen state.

Alert to All Refugees and Citizens in Yurkan Refugee Areas
No firearms are allowed within limits. Jewittist Law reguarding law enforcement will offically take act passed midnight, tonight. Law enforcement will be given electric rifles (tasers) and nightsticks with a pair of handcuffs. Nothing more. All firearms will be labeled and taken into Republican Custody until the owner has sent a request for the returning of their arm, of which the Yurkan Government will have it given to them.

This is to keep crime rates low and to lower vandalism and the endangerment of both Jewittist and interim Yurkan law enforcement.

-Signed by Premier Iosif Vissarionovich

This alert was, of course, sent to the Yurkan Government first. The Yurkans could not do much, as all those were subject to Jewittist laws (what few existed in the Libertarian government), and one was firearm control.

T-Boats continued to patrol the coastlines, and allowed the "Hospital" Classed ships to pass, but were watched, manual-shooting systems ready to deploy if these peaceful ships decided to go hostile.

Paranoia was striking the small country, but they would not anything tricky.

OOC: No problem, its not as if you have anything to fear. Yurka has never taken any unwarranted aggressive action outside of war with another nation in the last few centuries. Yurka likewise has a law which makes all firearms outside of law enforcement illegal.

The agents were rather perterbed that they were found out, moreso when they handed over their weapons. However, they knew better than to cause trouble, especially with ignorant foreigners, and thus did not make their annoyance visual. For the purpose at hand, a tazer was good enough, and eventually they were sure they would leave this bastardised land forever.

The Yurkans were not used to such lax police forces, especially given the nation's almost fanatical spending in the realm of law and order. There were a few crimes, mainly directed at eachother, but almost nothing serious yet. When the second degree citizens came forward as well, the crimes escalated a small amount, mainly an occasional fist fight if they were forced to work. Constructing their own homes was rather barbaric, since in Yurka everyone essentially lived in massive buildings, aside from the very affluent or wealthy.

==--==--==--==--==--==--==--

The war was going easily throughout the colony, with no aggressive actions from Juumanistra they were able to move even more artillery in and around the massive fortified city of Bedlam, all aimed at the mountains and Northern Border. Once this was done, the first two million of the twelve million third degree civilians began to depart, on foot, towards Truitt from the numerous barren cities, which were stripped by the inhabitants of anything valuable.

Border Fortifications - Whyatica-Juumanistra Frontier
Oberstkampf Fürher Kelzan Al-Kareen watched satellite videos of the Juumanistran divisions marching and preparing for an advance, whether against Yurka or Whyatica, he did not know.

Damn the Reichsmarshal.. he thought.

Pulled all the Capitol Police off and left us alone to defend, we're too damned undermanned to defend against any serious push.. he continued to think.

We are going to be overrun unless we make peace..

He pressed the comm, and said, "Bring me Reichsmarshal Zeman."
Kelzan waited patiently at his desk, idly looking at the battle reports from the Spizanian front and twiddling his thumbs, until his door slid open and Reichsmarshal Zeman stepped in. He was a portly man, with a curly moustache that made him look friendly, like he could be trusted with the local Youth Troop. In reality, he was extremely cold and unfriendly, in fact, upon recieving the Reichsmarshal of Whyatican Skiberdeenia rank he proceeded to put draconian laws in process, executing any civilian who so much as broke a littering law. His boots clicked on the hard metallic floor as he said,

"What do you want?" with an impatient tone, his dark brown eyes glaring impatiently at the Oberstkampf Fürher.

"I need more men. We're undermanned. Juumanistra is preparing for an armoured push, and we aren't going to be able to prevent them from breaking in with the amount of men and material we have." Kelzan said, glaring at the Reichsmarshal eye to eye.

"You'd best defeat the Juumans with what you have, or else it will be your head on the block. Understand?"

Kelzan glared fiercely at the Reichsmarshal as he said, "Do you understand me, Oberstkampf?"

"I understand you, Reichsmarshal." he said, gritting his teeth. He stood up to shake the Reichsmarshal's hand, who simply turned around and began walking out.

We aren't going to make any progress in peace if he's around.. Kelzan thought wildly, as thoughts of killing Zeman rushed around. Kelzan didn't care about the consequences, the Capitol Police were mostly deployed in Spizania so there would be almost no immediate response.

Kelzan pulled his officer's pistol, clicked the silencer in place, disabled the safety, and said, "Reichsmarshal!"

Zeman turned around to see the .380 slug enter his skull, killing him instantly.

Kelzan pressed his communications, and said, "Medic to my office, Reichsmarshal Zeman is dead."

Medics rushed to the Oberstkampf Fürher's office, and saw the bloody body of Reichsmarshal Zeman splayed obscenely across the floor, and Kelzan still holding the .380 pistol which he used to commit the deed.

"Oberstkampf, what happened?" a medic asked, fearful of the consequences.

"Zeman committed High Treason against Whyatica..He took a course of action which would harm Whyatica adversely, so I killed him." Kelzan heard himself say with a broken voice. Despite being an Oberstkampf Fürher in the Whyatican Army, he had never killed anyone in combat, ever. He enlisted in the Officer's Academy at 19 and was promoted to Oberstkampf Fürher when Kraven took over.

Without another word, the Medics took the body away, where it was sent into the incinerators..

Kriegsmarine Barracks
The Kriegsmarines were simultaneously relieved and worried at the Capitol Police's departure from Skiberdeenia, as the Kriegsmarines had more space to themselves, yet were dangerously undermanned. Two Kriegsmarines were sitting on their bunks eating MREs, and one said,

"I heard Kelzan killed off the Reichsmarshal."

"I was told that, too. Thank fucking God. Zeman was a self-righteous bastard."

"No kidding. My squadron was in one of the hicksville towns around here, it was called like..Viktorville, and Zeman himself showed up in his VTOL, barking at us like we were his fucking dogs. He ordered us to execute 500 people in the city, and they hadn't done a goddamn thing to us. He makes me sick."

"Yeah..I'm glad Kelzan did it, personally. Maybe now we'll get some peace and quiet."

"Nah, as long as Kraven's around there won't be any of that. The Capitol Police can't be productive people. They're robots, Z, nothing more than that.."

"We should just get rid of them, y'know. We can do the job better than any mindless drone.."

"Well, I heard a wild rumour the other day that Kelzan is going to ask for peace with Juumanistra. Just as well, too, I don't see why the hell we're fighting them."

"Yeah..."
Office of Oberstkampf Fürher Kelzan Al-Kareen
"Everything said in this office stays in this office for now, understood?" Kelzan said to his cabinet of advisors, people he had picked personally from his friends at the Officer's Academy and advisors from Skiberdeenia.

"I am going to ask for peace with Juumanistra, and I am going to declare Whyatican Skiberdeenia independent from the Whyatican Empire. Everyone who doesn't like this, raise their hands now.." Not a soul raised their hand as the bombshell hit them.

"You know, Kelzan, the Whyatican Empire died when Kraven took over. You know this as well as anyone.." an advisor said, trailing off.

"I'm betting that the Whyaticans don't like the change as much as they did then. The Homeland is facing invasions from what seems like half the world, and Kraven is in no better shape, but they're still intimidating many countries and Whyatica is on for the ride. I propose we create an..Independent Whyatica. My gut tells me that Juumanistra is after Kraven, not Whyatica. I'm going to ask for a conference with the Juuman field commander today, after this meeting. Are there any questions?"

"There are 300,000 Capitol Police in Skiberdeenia..We can't turn them..What are you going to do?" the military advisor said.

"With Juuman help and Kriegsmarine support the Capitol Police won't be a problem. We control their logistics, we control their aircraft, they don't. They make us do the flunky jobs and go fight for Kraven, well now we will show the Corporation who is boss in Whyatican Skiberdeenia."

The advisors nodded their heads in approval..

"When do you plan on starting?"

"Now." Kelzan said, rather melodramatically.

Kelzan walked to his computer console and pressed the "Send" button, transmitting a message to the Juumanistran field commander. It said,

We Kriegsmarines have declared ourselves independent of the Whyatican Empire, and I want to meet with your field commander personally for a peace conference, and a possible joint assault on the Kraven forces still remaining in Skiberdeenia.
