Hello, I need help in designing, a new hydroplaning long range amphibious battle tank. It would be heavier than the Chinese PT 63A Amphibious Tank. We would add hydrojets on either side of the tank. It would go about 30 MPH on water, 55 MPH on land. The armor would be a ceramic composite armor making it light and strong. Supercharged biodiesel engine. I think it could be a medium tank but not a heavy tank.
We also have recently developed an amphibious HUMVEE up to 15KPH on water, making this up. Any good plans for this.
Alright changing a few things. Look at the Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle done by the US Army as an example. Someone wrote it up as the Otter here. It has decent armor and can go very fast. I think it would have heavier armor than this;
Protection Values:
Protection (values in RHA vs KE):
Hull: Front: 160; Sides:75; Bottom: 100; Top: 75; Rear: 50
Turret: Front: 180; Sides and back: 110; Top: 100
Maximum thickness (actual): 72mm
I am also looking at building a larger militarized version of the Nightcat 27 highspeed catamaran patrol boat. Something which could easily outmaneuver a destroyer or frigate and destroy it very quickly. Maybe a 60-70 or even 120-130 foot version that could function on the high seas. I do not want a navy built on massive ships that can be easily destroyed. The big ships are too expensive for a new country to build. Here is a link to a description of a Chinese attack Catamaran...http://www.sinodefence.com/navy/littoral/2208.asp It would be interesting to see a mix of these things put together.
