Introduction
The Devlynian Oligarchical Republic was originally formed as a commonwealth of the nations of Slovenia, eastern Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania (see map below), after revolting against the Soviets, who had succeeded in conquering the entire area some time before. Originally Devlyn was a strongly anticommunist state; however, twenty years after its foundation, it underwent a massive revolution, in which thousands were killed. The revolution was quelled with military force, but the seeds of discontent had been sowed, and the Devlynians were beginning to plot another, better assault on their rulers, to overthrow the capitalists and lead Devlyn into a new and clearer world by toppling it.
The militant group attempting this was the New Socialist Order (NSO). After fifteen years, the time was finally right to strike, and the NSO took over Devlyn in a swift revolution.
The NSO swiftly gained the support of the population and established what was virtually a one-party democracy; while second and third parties existed, they had virtually no support in the face of the NSO, and still have. The NSO continues to rule in Devlyn to this day; the leaders of Devlyn are the seven Representatives of the People, each tasked with a different department to oversee.
