Wire Report
Dyelli Beybi, The Federated Klatchian Coast....Foreign Guard elements of the much touted Retalitory Guard of Ilek-Vaad appear to be in retreat after less than six hours in the feild.

The Republic of Ilek-Vaad had recently begun to interfere in the Dyellian Civil War. This occured in the form of a branch of the Retalitory Guard launching active military operations against the new government less than six hours ago. However, sources indicate that the Retalitory Guard are in full retreat. The only known combat taking place between Imperial Dyellian Forces and the Guard occured at naval battery along the Dyellian Coast.

Sorry but I couldn't pass up the opportunity

KCN WIRE REPORT
As the Ilek-Vaad Government announced the withdrawl plans of Foreign Guard Units from Dyelli Beybi, Vaadian Naval Vessels began to bombard surrounding D'reg units. These units had formerly been allies of the Foreign Guard less than seven hours before.

First the Vaadians get involved with a police state of the Socialist Republic. Then when that enevitably falls to a dictator, they react demanding Federal Intervention into the mass of Quicksand that is, and always will be Dyelli Beybian politics.

However, forced to deal with Soult on their own, they allied themselves with D'reg. It has now been shown that even the D'reg are not to the particular taste of the Vaadians. So they have withdrawn and are attacking the D'reg themselves now using naval artillery.

This shows one that any relationship with the Vaadians is fruitless and dangerous. Thank God they now no longer think we exist. We are better off without their constantly bunbled interference in Klatchian matters.

Another Editorial
Yesterday the court case of Utical versus The Naxcha ended. Most agree that the court's decision to declare the Naxcha's wall a party wall, but demand that Utical construct a second party wall adjacent to it for their own construction project, a fair and reasonable solution to the problem. It seems odd that although there is still violence in the streets, our courts have become much more efficent since the Privy Council cleaned house.

Of course some worry now that with the Vaadians acting like spoiled brats, and completely disengaging from the Federation, that the Naxcha's Palace, as it is now refered to by locals, will again fall into disrepair.

Well personally, we would welcome back the Naxcha. It is unbelivable that he should be a Vaadian at all. As a property owner of this city, which conveys local citizenship, he is legally able to enter this city without worrying about Klatchian-Vaadian relations.

It is hoped, by myself and others of this city, that we will see him again. Perhaps not as an Envoy, but as a private citizen. If he does, I know of several invitations to parties he will be receiving.

KCN Lassic Stringer Catches Up With First Republican

KCN Lassic Reporter, Hugh MacDonald, was able to catch up with and get a comment on the 'Dyellian Situation' from First Republican Theleb Kanaan as he walked to the House of The Republic this morning. Mr. MacDonald asked about the Vaadian 'about-face' in regards to their erstwhile D'reg Allies.

"That is simple. Every nation in the world should be made well aware that we only support other nations when they are taking the right course of action. Even if the Free Republic signs a treaty, the Constitution stipulates that said treaty will be invalid if the other signatory breaks Vaadian law. In this case it was an informal agreementwith the D'reg tribes. Once they broke their promise that they would not commit atrocities and engaged in slavery and outright murder, our agreement with them ended.

Their duplicity and dishonour not only lost them our support, but made them enemies of The Republic. We will NEVER support even our closest allies, when they seek the wrong course of action. I should also point out that the peoples of Greater Dyelli Beybi, are also guilty of breaking the Foreign Guard agreement, and their former promises and goodwill will only be remembered as lies.

We abandoned our close allies in Knootoss when they willfully broke the law and invaded Tanah Burung. We abandoned our close allies in Phyrrus when they used nuclear weapons, we will never support anyone just because they are friends and allies, they must also behave in a civilized and lawful manner to retain our support.

Now, if you will pardon me, I have work to do."

The Republican Council went into session minutes later. Dyelli Beybi, the Federation and the Foreign Guard withdrawal were not slated for discussion.

It was announced by the First Republican's office that A press conference had been scheduled for later this evening, to answer questions directly about the situation in Dyelli Beybi.

Great Lassic, House of the Republic , Press Conference Room 1

Layne Al Azarad, Chief of Staff for the office of the First Republic makes a statement and takes questions from the press, as is usual when a 'crisis' erupts.

"Ladies an gentlemen of the press, thank you for coming" starts the dark skinned rather handsome man in the blue grey suit, that matches his eyes "The First Republican and Republican Council thought that it would be good to take questions about the Free Republic's actions in Dyelli Beybi, in reagrds to the rebellions and the Foreign Guard. I will not go back over the explanation given by the First Republican to the KCN this morning and will use his statements as a starting point.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask, as usual I will answer them to the best of my ability."

He smiles and waits for any questions.

"Cindia White, The Internationalist...there has been some question about why Ilek-Vaad supported the Socialist Republic for so long. Does operating an effective police state, as the Socialist Republic's Checka operated as, meet with Vaadian Law? Or was there some over-ridding factor of Vaadian policy?"

Layne nodded to Cindia "Well Cindia, the role of the Cheka was a problem with the Socialist Republic, but as you are aware the Government of Chancellor Collins was in fact reforming the Cheka, integrating it into the police and reducing it's size and power as well as limiting it's abilities to spy on civilians.

Part of the reason Collins was overthrown was this fact. Tania Fradkhov the head of the Cheka that replaced Felix Dzerzhinsky was the main catalyst along with Genarole Soult that caused the current revolt, Commissar Fradkhov feared the loss of power with the Cheka being integrated into the Metro Police.

We were pleased with Collins' plans and direction for the Cheka and we were willing to be patient , so long as violence was not used to effect the change. The Republican Council made it clear to Chancellor Collins that the Foreign Guard treaty would be reviewed periodically to make sure that our goals were mutually compatible."
