On a large stage in the middle of a small city of only 50,000 people a hooded figure walks up to a mircophone carrying a small object wrapped in a black silk cloth. People are silent on all sides, they are eagerly waiting for their leader's speech. They have gathered on a football stadium (and a poorly built one at that) waiting for him.

After a few minutes of complete silence a figure approaches a specially constructed stage at the far side of the field. Another figure appears, a taller and shader figure who's true form could not even be seen.

The hooded figure speaks in a loud booming voice, the mircophone echoing his edict, "My people! We must band together to defeat the evils of our nation!" He raised his fist into the air and yells, "As your leader and god, I declare a war on these evils!"

The audience reacts in shock and claps, cheering their leader on.

"These evils, they are Greed, Lust, Wrath, Gluttony, Envy, Sloth, and Pride! THESE ARE THE EVILS THAT BIND US TO ENDLESS CONFLICT!" he shouts yelling into the heavens. His arms moving wildly (almost comically if one did not hear him) to each sin that afflicts the people. His speech was reminsent of the masters, like Hitler, Martin Luther King and Abraham Lincoln. Though the affect was just as potent to the spirit of the people as it could be.

"I have spoken with the Almighty personnally about this matter! He told me to lead his people in a ban on everything that was Satanic and vile! He told us to reenact the crusades of old!"

Again another wave a cheering rose up from the crowd, the figure resumed after the loud waves of clapping and cheering.

"That is why I have placed a ban on everything not allowed in the three holy books! The punishment for breaking these laws are dire, so do not let the devil tempt you to hell!"

Three figures approached behind the leader, one holding up the Koran, one holding the Holy Bible and the last carrying the national holy book.

"Their is no political party anymore! There is nothing not explicitly allowed in these books! God has told me so! Let the wonderful reign of peace and prosperity BEGIN!"

The crowd cheered the loudest this time. The leader bowed and left slowly, the figure shrouded in a dark hood was cheered long after he left the stage, the people loving their leader. The man who performed miracles on a daily basis, the man who spoke with God. He was as important as Jesus to them.

Asbena immediately began a militaristic crusade against the non-believers. The people rallied behind the cause, knowing that God was on their side. A small military that had 70,000 people would be created and funded by the government. All they needed was time.

Asbena outlawed political parties and most civil rights, but the economy was thriving already due to the leader's previous policies.

We rise to the challenge of crushing a small nation of 5,000,000 filled with religious fanatics. As a dictatorship we believe that religion and fanaticism have no place within the government of a country, and so we rise to the challenge of stopping Asbena before it grows to pose a threat not just to our country, but to the world. As such our government is announcing with regret that we will be invading Asbena.


In military headquarters the Director and generals are meeting to discuss the situation, and come to the conclusion that the only appropriate response to this to deploy overwhelming conventional forces. The concluded that the they the most viable option was to send two carrier groups, and three amphibious assault groups they felt should be enough to gain control of Asbena.
The next day they gave the order. The military bases of the nation bristle with activity as the country mobilizes. Soon the entire country is eager for war. The great force is ordered out to sea, and will arrive in Asbena waters in 24 hours.

The satellite was an older model, out of reaction mass and falling closer to Terra's blue-green surface with every orbit. Rod logic arrays clicked and chattered, processing instructions. Camera lenses embedded in the melon-size sphere extended to focus. A thousand kilometers away, a second, newer observation satellite focused on the same patches of ocean and coastal territory, getting some two hundred snapshots before vanishing beyond the horizon. Both spheres locked onto a communications satellite, and transmitted their stored data before wiping their memory banks in preparation for a pass over a new patch of territory.

Teletypes whirred in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Department for External Affairs. Shara Hida considered the instructions coming from the machine. The Higher Ups wanted to take a stance, and scratching her head the Avocat returned to her workstation to come up with a proper response to the developments between two insignificant nations half a world away.

The First Distributed Kingdom of Weyr strongly condemns the blatant, unprovoked militarism of the entity currently known as the New Market Order, and highly suggests that it cease its deployments against the entity of Asbena. Having suffered several foreign interventions within its own affairs in the past, the Distributed Kingdom will not permit a warmonger to force its will upon smaller states.

Unprovoked warfare is detrimental to geopolitical stability, and as such inherently threatens the Distributed Kingdom's welfare. Asbenan internal affairs are not cause for hasty declaration of war, and the Distributed Kingdom recommends that the government of the New Market Order withhold its deployment orders. If the New Market Order does indeed oppose Asbenan decisions regarding their way of life, the Distributed Kingdom is fully prepared to host a conference to resolve any concerns the New Market Order may have.

As always, please remember that firing upon any ship or entity belonging to, or carrying Weyrean citizens in international waters, defined as being one hundred (100) kilometers from any state's shore, will be considered a violation of the Neutrality Acts and treated as potential cause for war. Furthermore, any attacks against Weyrean civilians abroad not preceded by a warning period of at least twenty-four (24) hours may also be considered an act of hostility against the Distributed Kingdom.

My nation has no problem with religion what-so-ever. However when religous fanatics try to revolt like in the Middle-East that is just Weird. We are going to try diplomacy but if any combat is engaged with my agents it will be war. My nation is bigger then you you and Florintine combined. We have discovered using our new spy satellite that Asbena does have a passage to the sea, and it is large enough for our entire fleet to sail threw.

We would like to announce that we do not plan on annexing Asbena as a colony or dominion. Once we have secured the government, and neutralized with the religious fanatics we will let the people of Asbena determine there own fate. We; however, will be maintaining three army bases, three air force bases, and one naval base in Asbena to insure that fanatics do not regain power. Our military bases will provide a boost to the local economy provide stability, law, and order which is in everyone’s benefit except ours because we will need to pay to build and maintain the bases.

In an open letter you discussed the “fact” that Absena maintains a passage to the sea large enough for your fleet to sail through. I assure you that this is simply not the case. If one were to inspect a map of the continent on which Absena is found than it is rather evident that at best it could be argued the source of a river that exits into a sea outside of its borders is such a large passage to the sea – however I do believe most geographers would discount such a claim.

Additionally to that small geographic detail, the mouth of that river falls under the shared sovereignty of Florintine and the United Kingdom and I must reiterate the position of the United Kingdom that we will not allow foreign powers to violate UK sovereignty – and that includes entering said river.

OOC: Mrrrm, Paratroopers have to still go over sovereign airspace, and since international law can be pretty much ignored at will by non-UN states, you'd be risking an international incident by violating someone else's airspace.

In terms of regions. Strictly speaking there is no requirement for two nations bordering nations to be in the same region, since regions are a gameplay function, and do not account for complexities such as inter-regional boundaries or colonies.

On the issue of populations, I'd like to note that Azazia and I each outnumber everyone else here combined, population-wise. Granted, this brings us into the debate regarding the limit on manageable military sizes, and this thread is not the time and place for it.

The Distributed Kingdom notes that distasteful as Asbenan practices regarding civil and political issues may be, Asbena has not thus far threatened anyone outside its borders. Until such as time as Asbena decides to force its will on other states, there is no cause to attack it. Should Asbena become a military threat, its neighbours are more than equipped to handle any threats originating on their borders.

Furthermore, the Distributed Kingdom would like to note that the New Market Order lacks the resources necessary to violate the United Kingdom of Azazia'a territories in any significant force. As such, the Distributed Kingdom would like to suggest that the New Market Order consider options besides war for preventing possible future aggression by Asbena.

The Distributed Kingdom offers to organize and fund a multilateral observation group that will monitor Asbena's military, and possibly act in an advisory role to assist Asbena in creating an effective defense force. Naturally, such a course of action will only work with Asbena's approval, and will require the permission of Asbena's neighbors regarding rights of passage for those observers. Unlike warfare, the specifics behind this plan can be worked out without any loss of life.

If you can’t provide you we will assume that my good friend The Steverino Prairie also has a mutual border with Asbena. And that The Steverino Prairie has some common water with Asbena.

Regions don't really matter when determining regioanl boundaries in RP. In theory, all three nations could all be on the edges of their regions, with their borders touching one another. They could also simply not want to move between regions while RP-ing as neighbours. As long as RP consistency is maintained, there is no requirement anywhere for neighbours in RP to be neighbours in gameplay.

Figuring out who borders whom should probably be taken to either an OOC thread or done via Telegram, however, in order to not clutter up the RP thread.

Umm no. It doesn't fit on the map, therefore you do not have enough to send an entire naval force to. You'd have to send air drops (and a lot of them at that) through dangerous territory and others nations just to get to mine. Not a smart plan.

Weyr it does not matter your planes can be downed at sight and UN members will not support you if you do such, cause you invaded their territory. Seriously, you don't have free passage, and thus can be shot to shreds.

Our trading, and buying borders are non-existant. Come to the Asbena Bazaar and approach any priest, priestess or monk for directions to whatever you want to sell. Our people have no centralized government, military or economic center (making us nearly impossible to track down or attack from above), but as Asbena grows there is talk of an international bazaar in international waters. Asbena has pushed back their enemy and is overwhelming them with sheer firepower and numbers. We've taken a few casualties including the town leader, Father Homam.
