In 1951, a United Nations committee on slavery reported that the practice of slavery was declining rapidly, with only a vestige of slavery remaining in a few areas of the world. Nevertheless, the committee found that forms of servitude similar to slavery affected a large number of people. These types of servitude include forms of serfdom and peonage, various abuses arising from the adoption of children, and the transfer in marriage of women without their consent.
Despite this, although it may shock you, The Matriarchal Family of Mater still has slavery. Slavery is the reason they are on top. Slavery is the reason why they are the most prominent nation in the world. They are apart of the United Nations, but still refuse and somehow keep going on with slavery. It has past our eyes for years, but we have now looked into the matter and discovered this heinous crime. That’s why we, Polliok, have joined the world and are now a nation. That’s why everyone must band together to stomp out The Matriarchal Family of Mater and regain order, peace, and justice in our world.

The Federation finds nothign wrong with the practice of slavery in other nations, although it is not practiced by the Federation. A nation's laws are what they believe in...and this is tolerated by many in the international community. Good Day.

Nevertheless, the act of slavery goes against what many nations believe in. To get along in the world we must think fairly on the same level. With slavery we can hardly lift a finger.

Should your allegations be substantiated, then it would appear TMF of Mater is in violation in UN Resolution #6, "End Slavery". We have never had, nor do we intend to have, relations with Mater*, and so this is of no particular concern to us: we would not, though, be opposed to other parties undertaking sanctions. You might be interested to contribute to current discussions on better defining the UN ban on slavery, currently being directed by the Protectorate of Kiften in the UN forum.

to get along we must see the differances of other nations. trying to make others do what you want would enter the world into a war without end

I don't care about the differences of other nations. TMF of Mater are taking children from there homes and slaying them in a plant three hundred miles away from where they grew up because they messed up when they accidently cut themselves with the machinery. This is not another nation's DIFFERENCE. This is the world's problem.

This is merely the culture and tradition of a nation. They do not violate our sovereignty, their is no reason why the nations of the international community should take action against such a trivial practice.

Although Mater's doings are wrong. (In my opinion)

The Republic of Linkskys has no business in what Mater does unless its a threat to my nation.

I shall not get my country into a war that can be avoided.

The Republic of Danmarc formally denounces slavery on all corners of the earth, although the United Nations is a seemingly corrupt and outright meaningless organization these days.

Otagia supports Mater's rights to hold slaves. We look forward to the day when the UN will overturn the short-sighted resolutions banning this time-honored practice.

Bah! I'm on the slaver's side! Evilgis will help them if you declare war on them!

Once I get an army, anyway.

(OOC: NOTE: I am POSITIVELY against slavery in real life. My nation is supposed to be as evil has possible, so, yeah, I kinda have to say that. Once again, IN REAL LIFE I DO NOT SUPPORT SLAVERY.)

Whereas the practice of slavery is most abhorrable in the Holy Empire of Naktan, His Holy Eminence sees no means to correcting the malicious practices of another nation that it does not recognize, and furthermore with a minimal standing army. Furthermore, there is no reasonable casus bellum for the consideration; therefore, it is most appropriate therefore to make this reference to the UN body where some notable nation may take up to make a resolution making this noticed and condemned by the international community.

Seeking to annihilate some nation - particularly since it seems that your country might not have sufficient resources to counter against this other nation's large army (perhaps of the said slaves) - we would strongly encourage your nation to engage in non-hostile activities with the said nation.

Sanctions may not answer the problem, but the least that nations as honorable and conscientious as yours can do is simply do with what one has and do it well. Taiarai may deal with this slave-state ever so harshly, but we shall leave Providence to such. Men may judge it wrong, but it belongs to Taiarai bear judgment over all.

The information is on the web about the UN coming together and banning slavery. TMF of Mater is in the UN, so the rules must apply. If I'm mistaken and the UN did NOT pass a law against slavery, please inform me and i will drop this whole matter immediatly.

[ Many super-evil nations are perfectly nice guys in real life. No worries.

And I probably would impose sanctions, but the better part of my entire armed force is being sunk into the Raven-New Nick-Frenzia-NSAA conflict. ]

The NSUN is quite different than the UN in 1951. The only laws and resolutions that member-states of the NS United Nations must follow are those listed on their website.

As such, the Grand Imperium of Risban condemns the warmongering nation of Polliok for misleading the international community in an attempt to gather support for a war against Mater that Polliok cannot obviously win alone.

The Holy Empire of Naktan vehemently reminds the delegate from this nation called Polliok that their attitude is increasingly belliigerent. His Holy Eminence does not wish to see another nation needlessly ransack itself into the prongs of war. Such actions are the way of increasingly uncooperative nations as such the nation as you had reported earlier. As much as the Holy Empire condemns slave practices, we likewise condemn belligerence, and while your nation has not shown itself to be aggressive, it has demonstrated such attitudes that are not acceptable in the common community.

We suggest some time to ponder on the best actions for your people.

that's just a nice way to say you're acting beyond your league...you have 6 million people living in your country...if you want a war, be prepared to have some other country more populated than yours more than willing to storm the gates...furthermore, if you havev some claims about a nation's uncooperativeness with the UN, take it there instead oftrying to make a large, grand coalition to wipe them out...
