The Italian Press is deeply divided by the report of the sinking of the Armando Diaz. The Right Wing wants massive intervention to teach the Turks a lesson, while the Left Wing wants an end to Italian involvement in someone elses war. The Left Wing also makes a point to report Greek atrocities against the Turks (of which there are many), while the Right focuses more on Turkish atrocities against the Greeks (of which there are many)

The justification for such strong support of supporting Greece is the attitudes of the people following WW3. Italia was in the winning side with minimal losses, and the people are pretty far to the right (a lot more than they were in RL at this time because Communism has such a bad name and Fascism hasn't failed yet), are proud of their country, and support their government. Political insubordination, although not unheard of, is definitely uncommon, and those people and newspapers going against the government are a clear minority.
