24 And woe to the children of High Father.
25 The tyranny of Ives continued and they cried,
26 "Treachery, Tyranny, Betrayal!",
27 Their allies gone in their time of need.
28 Their leaders whipping their backs,
29 And High Father saw it to be wrong
30 From his cell window in his own temple.
31 And he weeped for his children,
32 Weeped for their children, and
33 He weeped that he could do nothing.

OOC Thread for the Massacre: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=10405120#post10405120

Years of civil unrest and strikes had cumulated into open angry and resentment toward the government of Cynthia Ives. Many of the old were writing angry articles to find themselves censored, many of the young who heard of the days of old were shocked and took to the streets.

It was something new in Leafanistan, the college students poured into Memorial Square, a traditional place in Concord to complain. Lenin had come there to speak of his new system; Communism. High Father had preached there for his government. Those who had died during the Great Patriotic War were commemerated there. And there they gathered; in front of where High Father's residence was. A giant picture of him, hung over the entire square as the students set up camp. They put up pictures, they held up signs. They wanted something.

The signs proclaimed: "More Food in the Cafeteria!", "More Books for Learning!", "More Student Aid". The government did nothing, just watched as the students protested, waiting for them to disperse, hoping they would return to university. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, the students requests were unheard by the government.

Thousands of students sat in the square, making their case, speaking of censorship, speaking of hunger and of thrist for academia. Many more had joined them, soon over 50,000 students were in the square, calling on High Father to speak to them, to tell them what to do. There was no reply from the home, and requests to get past the guards were denied.

Inside, High Father was strapped to the wall in a tortured state, the guards had beat him again while he was tranquilized, and his nose bled. He looked up through the one-way glass they had given him to see out of. He saw them chanting, he saw the signs asking for his guidance. He cried, and he tensed, the temperature in the room rose. The doctors detected this and injected him again, and again the darkness of sleep enveloped him.

50 The students in anger yelled,
51 But the government only had deaf ears.
52 They began to starve of their own accord,
53 Many were shocked, and cried for their brethern.
54 They cried, "Why? Why must we let them hunger!?"
55 But the government only had deaf ears.

Students poured into the square, three weeks in over 140,000 students had left their dorms and classrooms and were protesting in the square. However, the government only increased security and blocked the area immidietly around High Father's home. His older daughter was away on business, and his younger daughter was far away as an counsulor to Algeristan.

The students planned a hunger strike. And they taped their mouths shut and wrote slogans on them. 'Freedom to speak', 'Freedom to write', 'Freedom to think'. The government became agitated. They began negotiations to stop the strike. The student leaders were happy they had gotten through and talks began in the Parliament building with various Parliament members.

Four weeks in, over 200,000 students and various town people were in the square, some were geniune protesters, others were providing necessities for the students. It had become a small town, and there were shower tents set up, food carts and stands. It was a teeming city of tents and signs. The government had gotten the message, they were here to stay.

Cynthia Ives, Prime Minister, Confederate Socialist Reform Party, agreed to meet with the leaders to begin talks for leaving the square.

12 They met with Ives, the reformist,
13 And tried to speak, but were cut off.
14 It was open to all to see, and she
15 Needed to dominate the scene.
16 She shut them out, and spoke
17 As if she were their mother.
18 And the students screamed back:
19 "You aren't our mother, High Father is the only parent we need!"

From his window, High Father saw nothing more, and his anger increased twofold. Soon he was on meds every waking moment, but that did not stop him from cracking his eyes just long enough to see the clouds of smoke the students raised from their fires and smile. Nor did it stop him from seeing the guards keeping them from getting closer and keeping them out of his sight.

The hunger strike lasted far too long for the Reformists, they sent in ambulances and dragged the strikers out and medicated them. Soon they were all in the hospitals and clinics being fed through a tube. Some tried to fight it off, but most gave into the pressure of the government. Over 300,000 students were in the square, and in other cities similar protests had erupted in malls, town halls, etc. It seemed as if the entire city of Concord was angry.

TV cameras from international news agencies were all over the Prime Minister's Mansion. They had agreed to meet in the largest meeting room. The student leaders, including one who had recently been ejected from a hospital were there. And Cynthia Ives, a tall, middle aged woman with short black hair and glasses walked in. She sat down and the students tried to speak. She quickly cut them off and began a long, pre-written speech about the duties of citizens, students and it was filled with rhetoric. The students made mocking noises, but she quickly snapped back and silenced them.

All around the world and the square the eyes were turned to the screen as Cynthia Ives made a tremendous mockery of the student's efforts. Kathy Guth, the recently, 'rehabilitated', hunger striker had enough. She rose weakly from her chair as Cynthia Ives spoke.

Cynthia: "Sit back down young woman, I am not done speaking!"
Kathy: "No, you are done, it is our turn, we know what is best..."
Cynthia: "You know? I am your mother, mother of all the children of Leafanistan, I know what is best."

Kathy visibly changed from her pale complexion to red, her face contorted with anger, Cynthia must have seen it, for she slowed down and got a puzzled look on her face. Kathy cried out:

"Our mother? OUR MOTHER!? You are not our mother, High Father is the only parent we need. You have no right to say that, to soil his name, to compare yourself to his work! Our mother, rubbish!"

Cynthia turned bright red from embrassment, she made a motion and the guardmens shut off the power for the cameras and chased off the reporters. She personally reprimanded the students for talking this way, and chased them out of the building. They returned to the movement and called for even greater assistance.

30 The students in great indigation spoke
31 With many from other lands beyond Leafanistan.
32 Soon all of Concord was in the streets,
33 Protesting the actions from Ives.
34 Many more poured in from the
35 Colonies of Leafanistan.
36 The children of High Father were
37 outraged at Ives, and asked where
38 High Father was.

Cynthia read the encrypted transmission from Red Tide, she agreed, this two-month long rebellion had gone on long enough. She was angry, and humiliated at what Kathy had done to her on camera; in front of billions of people. She needed to put it down, she called up Field Marshall Xiao, and the local garrison.

The students had poured into Memorial Square, they were singing songs, being interviewed by foreign reporters, and furthering their cause. Then in one day, over 2 million people in Concord poured into the streets in one massive city-wide protest. The military-police did nothing, they were protesting as well. With similar protests, work ground to a halt in Leafanistan.

Cynthia and Field Marshall Xiao agreed on their course of action. They were to move the local division, the 15th Mobile Infantry to silence the rebellion.

At dusk local time, they units were ordered in, as their trucks and scout cars poured into the city they met something amazing. The people of Concord. They had driven buses onto the road and blocked the streets. The commander didn't have the heart to crush his own people and ordered the column to stop while he negotiated with the locals to try to clear the road. The protesters poured onto the trucks and talked with the soldiers. They talked all through the night and by morning, 53 trucks were abandoned, 23 Scout Cars were left behind and over 100 soldiers had dropped their weapons and left. The 15th Mobile Infantry had been repelled.

79 And a cheer rose up from the brave city
80 They had repelled their oppressors
81 And had won the day.
82 They believed their leaders would hear them
83 Hear their calls for Freedom and for Civility,
84 But alas, hatred prevailed.
85 And the streets ran red with the blood of children

Field Marshall Xiao was humiliated, he had lost millions worth of equipment to a bunch of city-slickers and his local commander had abandoned him. He ordered a court marshall of all involved and set about calling two divisions from the neighboring province. He told the 23rd, and 30th Mechanized Infantry that the 2 million in Concord protesting were traitors to the Parliament, traitors to Cynthia Ives, and traitors to Leafanistan and the entire Glorious Confederacy.

That night the troops moved in outside the city they set up camp 2 miles up the road and waited. Student scouts had sighted them and informed the crowd, soon a sense of panic developed and many fled, however many stood their ground and began to block the roads again. A few were armed, about only a Brigade of the local militia, they though they could talk them out of it again.

Dawn, and the army moved in. They came from the north and the east, pinning them against the River Concordia and again met the people. Helicopters flew over with speakers urging people to disperse. They stood their ground and waited.

Twelve minutes after dawn a man, whose image will forever be engraved upon those watching the situation on their televisions walked up to the lead AVT-97R. The gunner turned and fired a warning shot. The man flinched and continued walking, asking the gunner: "Why against your own people?". The gunner did not miss the second time and the 14.5 mm AA shell tore through the poor man and sent his intestines to the ground.

The crowd paniked and ran.

105 The armies of Ives and Xiao ran rampant.
106 The misguided children killed their brothers,
107 Killed their sisters, killed their fathers,
108 Killed their mothers, and killed their sons and daughters
109 As they moved to quiet the storm.

AH-05 Spike Helicopters and MD-530s fired on the buses and cars on the ground to clear the way for the 97s, the 80s, the BMP-3s, the BDRM-4s, and the Scout Cars. Huge explosions reached into the sky. Soldiers fired into the crowd to disperse them as they moved into the city. People fell dead, and dying. The cities ambulances were overloaded and many used their own cars or trucks or even bikes at their own peril to evacuated the wounded.

High Father, no matter the amount of medication in him stayed awake as soon as he felt the first man fall to the ground. Before the first casing fell to the ground he was wide awake, even if he didn't outwardly show it. The doctors in his mansion paniced and were afraid to send a guard into the room. The temperature began rising from a frigid 5 degrees celcius to a degree unknown.

The local Militia was outraged, and soon took to the streets to fight the divisions. Molotov cocktails flew into the air, RPGs danced in the skies and tracers flew into the air. The militia were outclassed and outnumbered but did not surrender. They fought to let others escaped and were killed by the larger Mechanized Divisions. Soon the tanks opened fire and took down buildings used as strongholds.

The local Civil Defense Armoury was raided and soon old CJ-14s, Sungri Scouts, and Hummers took to the streets and began to fight the divisions. Thousands were already dead as the 30th from the east pushed closer to the Square.

Oddly the square was calm, the students were chanting, and singing. The leaders however were frightened, wondering what to do, pleading with the guards outside High Father's home to do something.

And all of this was live on international news.

22 And the tanks, and trucks and cars, lay strewn about
23 Destroyed in the frenzy.
24 The brave children of High Father stood their ground
25 As their siblings tried to hold off the onslaught
26 But to no avail.

Night had fallen and the scene was horrifying. By now over 5000 people were dead in the streets and over 7000 were dying in hospitals and clinics and improvised medical locations. The divisions had only lost a few hundred to the angry armed mob but was still going strong. Only 7 tanks were lost, mostly the older AVT-80Gs, though one 97R was destroyed near a gas station. The troops were nearing the square and Field Marshall Xiao decided the students had long enough to surrender and sent in the copters.

The students still sat and chanted as the guards around High Father's mansion stood their silently. Suddenly several UH-60s with speakers flew over, their spotlights blinded the students as they said: "ATTENTION, DISPERSE IMMEDIATELY, OR FACE DEADLY FORCE." The students were outraged, and a few lost it, including a young man who had enough, he pulled a pin on a grenade he saved and threw it at the guard post guarding High Father's mansion and was quickly killed by KF11 fire. The students screamed and ran, but they ran into the 30th to the east and were fired upon by their weapons and the 24th to the north and were chased off with rockets. They ran to the south, toward the hospital, in the square alone as the tanks rolled by, 1500 students were dead or dying.

High Father heard all of it and was brooding, the tears stopped hours earlier and any guard who entered nearly died of the heat. It was 75 degrees inside the room and the cooling systems failed and the plastic IVs melted. The doctors fled as the militia approached from behind the main tank column. And High Father was finally fully concious, the first time in 12 years. And he was angry.

Arnold Saltzman had been given a report about the protests occuring in Leafanistan, but thought nothing of it until he read the report that had arrived that morning at his desk which talked of the military firing upon the militia. He was disgusted at the thought, a nation's soldier murdering his own countryman, it physically sickened him as he viewed television news reports and saw the carnage wrought by the Leafanistani mechanized units. He called for the cabinet to be assembled for a discussion as to the Republic's involvement of the situation.

67 And then a cry arose from the temple,
68 Where Ives and her soldiers had soiled
69 The Square before High Father.
70 Their blasphemy and evil was
71 Not overlooked, as the cry
72 Reverberated, sending chills down
73 To every, man, woman and child's bone.
74 And then the doors to the temple flew wide open
75 And there stood, in all his glory, High Father.

The temperature in the room was over 80 celcius and the personnel had long fled, the militia was still fighting with the tanks behind a row of destroyed buses but was rapidly losing. High Father turned his head up, and the nearby camera shorted out. The IVs in his arm shot out with enough force to embed themselves in the padded walls. The straps turned a bright orange as they rose to over 2400 degrees and were easily removed. High Father was free, and he turned toward the door, where a guard had seen him get free through an observation window. High Father reached out his hand and the man let out a puff of smoke and died. He looked out his window and saw the scene, and he burst with rage. He screamed, a cry so loud, it felt as if the entire city was rumbling.

Suddenly as the militia turned toward the mansion, the thick steel doors flew off their hinges with a force that seemed to be more commonly given to a cruise missile and the doors slammed into a 97Z and pushed it nearly 200 metres into the street. The tank quickly burst into flames as the military turned toward the man in the door. The militiamen quickly recognized him; cries of "High Father" passed down their line as the soldiers wondered what to do.

A local news reporter, hiding with the militiamen turned his camera toward the man, and captured the destruction of the MBT in his lens. It was broadcast live on 30 different channels, in 45 different languages at once as billions were glued to their sets watching the horrorshow unfold.

The sighting was noted on the local BattleNET and Xiao returned his orders: "TERMINATE HIGH FATHER". The soldiers obeyed and turned their guns and fired upon him. High Father, held up his arm and the shells and bullets fell to the earth, melted and flattened. The soldiers tried again and the closest ones let out puffs of smoke and died. The soldiers paniced and fled, dropping their weapons as the militiamen rallied behind High Father and chased them off.

Suddenly the ground shook and smashing through the ornate gate to Memorial Square was an entire Mechanized Brigade, 30 tanks, and 50 APCs poured into the square and surrounded them. The militiamen were terrified and looked to High Father for guidance, but he was already gone.

1 The brave men and women cried,
2 It seemed glorious High Father was gone
3 But they had let their laments out too quickly.
4 For High Father was soon to show
5 His strength, and his children's strength.

The militiamen, surrounded and being fired at wondered where their savior, High Father was. They though it might have been a hallucination, perhaps it was the heat, though it was fall, or perhaps the adrenaline had confused them. But as the first tank sighted them, they were all proven wrong.

The tank commander sighted the remains of the tank, they were hiding behind and ordered the computer to load a high explosive round to remove the offending piece of debris. As he looked through the sight, the scene disappeared and he was suddenly staring into the sky, he then saw the ground again and his commander's BDRM-4 staring back up at him in horror, and then he was no more.

High Father had flanked them in the chaos, picked up the first AVT-80G he saw and threw it. The tank column's commander was instantly killed when it landed on his BDRM-4. The tanks closest to High Father opened fire, trying their hardest to land a shot, but soon they found their guns smoking, and jammed. Then suddenly, the first 5 tanks burst into flame, the men and women inside roasted alive as High Father moved his hand, watching the flames burn the offending troops.

All the while the reporter got the greatest story of his life and the militiamen cheered and began a charge toward the remaining vehicles, firing ATGMs, and RPGs, and throwing Molotov cocktails.

The new commander of the column had enough and ordered an immediate pull out from the square to regroup. The APCs and Tanks in the rear fled quickly, while the remainder were caught by militia fire and High Father's literal fire. Overall 24 AVT-80Gs lay in smouldering ruin, 1 BDRM-4 was crushed, 12 BTR-130s were destroyed, and 3 Scout Cars were bullet ridden.

High Father and his militiamen had won Memorial Square and Field Marshall Xiao was furious.

*music plays, background suddenly changes, the reporter is handed a sheet of paper.*

"BREAKING NEWS ON THE MASSACRE OF MEMORIAL SQUARE IN LEAFANISTAN" blares over the news.

The reporter reads the paper as his eyes widen, the little box switches to the video that was filmed just 15 minutes previous in Leafanistan's Memorial Square.

The reporter stutters but starts reading as the shaky video shows High Father's exploits.

"Uhh....excuse me ladies and gentlemen, as the massacre in Leafanistan continues, our man on the ground, in the heat of the battle captures this amazing footage. It seems High Father, the mysterious 'ceremonial' Head of State of the Glorious Confederacy of Leafanistan has left his home and his somehow leading the militiamen against the military troops currently in his home town of Concord. The footage shows High Father, throwing a massive main battle tank at what appears to be a armoured personnel carrier, and setting the tanks in front of him on fire. The footage cuts out as the militiamen rally and chase off the remaining tanks. More on this story as it happens to you live, on GSRN"

An emegency meeting had been called by the leading members of the Parliment. They sat in front of a large plasma TV, watching the scene unfold on the news.

President Scharfe whiped a tear from his eye. Even if they had had their differences, Leafanistan had been the reason for Willink becoming a member of the international scene, and had been there for the government since the death of President Rousell. The room seemed to be in a sense of Paralysis. The men sat, attached to the TV.

Scharfe's went to reach to the phone, but his hand was numb and wouldn't move. He became weak at the knees and fell to his chair. There was nothing to say, nothing to do, but watch, watch knowing there was nothing he could do.

34 And the evil children met with the good children
35 They spoke meaningless words
36 Trying to conflict with the pure reality
37 That was the glory of High Father.

The Parliament went into emergency session as the firing continued outside their doorsteps. 2 Brigades kept watch on the building itself as the sounds of the battle got closer. MPs were screaming at each other, each one yelling, no one listening until Cynthia Ives came into the room, flanked by Admiral O'Toole, Captain Alleluia, and Colonel Idi Maklov. The room quieted significantly as they sat down. On the holoprojector, the face of Field Marshall Zheng Xiao came up. On another the image of a visibly angry Air and Space Marshall Samantha Arcturus came up. Sitting in the corner of the crowd Cincinnati Jones watched closely.

Cynthia moved a few papers in near complete silence. The MPs were visibly disturbed as the military men and women kept their mouths shut. Finally MP from the Algeristani strip stood up and screamed, "ANSWER ME NOW WOMAN, WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS...THIS...WHOLE FUCKING THING IN OUR FUCKING CAPITAL CITY!?"

The MP quickly realized his mistake as the entire counsel sitting in the middle turned to face him, including the holograms. He sheepishly sat down and stared at his shoes.

Cynthia Ives stood up and put down her papers, she readjusted her glasses and moved her hair around a bit. What seems like idle stalling was really her sizing up everyone, the military commanders knew this, so did Jones and a few MPs in the crowd.

"I know, there have been, incidents here."

Another MP from the Senate Party stood up and said:

"Incidents? Incidents? My good Prime Minister, this is no incident. My honourable colleagues, THIS IS A FUCKING TRAVESTY! If you excuse my angry, right now I hold in my hands a report from Air Force intelligence that over 10,000 casualities are in this city alone, and that is from the military elements in the city, over 35,000 civilians are considered casualties. The city is in chaos.."

The building shook from a distant explosion, the lights cut out for a second, and came back on.

"What the shit was that?! Tell me! No incident like this has ever happened in Leafanistan! Nothing!"

The MPs murmured agreement, some scoffed, Field Marshall Xiao was unperturbed along with Cynthia Ives.

And the cameras kept rolling.

Supreme Commander Gregori Mckenna, Head of State and Goverment of the Corporate Dictatorship of Red Tide, sat at the head of his ministers table... and he was furious.

"WHY THE HELL DID THOSE LEFANISTANI TROOPS FIRE ON THEIR HEAD OF STATE! AND HOW THE HELL DID HE ALL OF THE SUDDEN BECOME... SO... SO... SUPERMANISH!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, the Economic Minister and the Minister of the Interior edged away from the table, the Research Minister, who was the weakest willed of them all ducked under it. The Defense Minister remained sitting where he was, yet sweat was breaking out on his face.

Only the Head of the Intellegince-Consortium remained at his place, he was actually most calm and cool-headed of them all. It betrayed the fact that he was insane, probably from the same disease that put him in his wheelchair.

"It is rather confusing, I must admit, as soon as I recieved news, I devoted a considerable amount of our intellegince assets to find this out and they came up with this." He said, sliding a report across the table.

98 They yelled, they screamed and they cursed.
99 The city bled as the children fought,
100 Siblings in a deadly rivarly.
101 And in the House of Leaders
102 The children of Honour, sat with jackals.

Admiral O'Toole was angry, she looked at her former husband Captain Alleluia, he was also angry, the hologram of High Father's daughter showed her makeup was askew, a clear sign that she was crying. O'Toole really felt something, it took a strong military person to cry like that, especially in front of staff, it also took a strong staff not to have informed everyone else so quickly. She thought about it: "Men and Women of Honour, in a room of Jackals."

Prime Minister Ives argued with the MPs as the building shook and rumbled from the battle. Admiral O'Toole looked over to see Xiao had gone. An aid walked up carrying copies of orders, Admiral O'Toole had enough. While the Parliament deliberated, she left to the washroom, Captain Alleluia followed.

O'Toole: "John, don't tell me this is about the marriage."
Alleluia: "You always were a bitch, this is about bigger things."
O'Toole: "Like I don't know, its all gone to shit, and look at these orders, from Cynthia Snake Ives herself to Xiao signed off by both of them."
Alleluia: "Those devils, I knew it."
O'Toole: "What do we do? What do we do for the children of High Father? What do we do for Leafanistan?"
Alleluia: "We fight, I'll get help."
O'Toole: "I understand, oh and John."
Alleluia: "Yeah?"
O'Toole: "You always were a bastard."
Alleluia: "I know."

Captain Alleluia called the Confederate Guard brigade outside and began broadcasting orders. Admiral O'Toole asked an aid to inform the Senate Party of what had transpired in the washroom. She walked into the room where the hologram of Xiao had reappeared alongside the Prime Minister. Marshall Arcturus's disembodied head was gone now. Admiral O'Toole walked up to Prime Minister Ives, raised her right hand and slapped her across the face.

The room went silent. All the various parties stared. Prime Minister Ives turned back, she tasted copper and felt blood pool on her tongue. She turned toward Admiral O'Toole.

"Sandra! What is the meaning of this!?"

Xiao was shocked and disappeared from the holoprojector. Mumuring again filled the room.

Admiral O'Toole removed her service weapon and held it up to the Prime Minister's head. From the north coridor, Captain Alleluia reappeared with the Confederate Guard. His service weapon was unholstered along wtih the Guardsmen.

Admiral O'Toole said, on international television: "Your honourable Prime Minister Cynthia Ives, of the Confederate Socialist Reform Party, you are hearby under arrest, under the authority of the Glorious Confederacy of Leafanistan, and under the authority of High Father."

Prime Minister Ives was indignant but said nothing, suddenly from the Southern Coridor the Army Units protecting the building appeared with weapons fully drawn.

The Confederate Guardsmen raised their weapons.

It was Mexican standoff time.

A Colonel from the Army ran up with his service weapon aimed at Admiral O'Toole, he said: "She is coming with me, or me and my boys, are turning everyone in here into Swiss."

Captain Alleluia looked at Admiral O'Toole as she alternatively looked at the barrel of the RRJ45 to the Prime Minister's face.

"You know Colonel, this is treason"
"No, you are, hand the Prime Minister over."

O'Toole raised her arms, Captain Alleluia ordered his men to disengage. The Colonel lead the Prime Minister away to a waiting helicopter, where she vacated the city.

We have noticed several large, unpleasing riots in your nation. In your capitol city a large riot was "put down" so to speak. While we do not accept this, that is not the current problem. The current problem is that you have a state of civil unrest in your nation. It was still completely unknown to anyone outside the high levels of the Red Tide Goverment and a select few scientists how they were 'trained'. The latter was the name for a supposedly abandoned Soviet Airforce/Naval/Missile Base on a small island just off the northern coast. The Red Tide Goverment had turned it into a marked 'black' Research Facility.

"So..." The Supreme Commander said, turning to the Defense Minister, "What are our options? There is going to be a civil war, apparently, and we have to own up, tell the truth, and help High Father." That was true enough.

[McKagan City, McKagan: The Blue House]

President Robyn Cavalt had just, within the last hour, finished moving into her new office. It was a great feeling. She was now one of the most powerful people in the world, more or less commanding one of the most powerful militaries in the world, with the power to do almost anything. And she was bored.

Her blonde hair straight down to her shoulders, she sat in the corner office and looked at how various things she'd put in the office looked from her desk. Not much was left to do... and then the phone rang. It had been filtered from the McKagan State Department as showing from an ally, the President of Willink.

You mean I might get my first real action on my first real night of being President?

She picked up the phone and said, quite simply, "Hello? President Cavalt here."

Cavalt was caught a big off guard by the bluntness of the phonecall. It was nice though, she'd expected most national leaders to be stuck up and political with every phone call and email. This was a change from the default she'd installed in her mind.

"I'm watching a McKagan ally and friendly SWC nation destroy itself from the inside out. I don't know what is going on. I sent them an email a few minutes ago, but I have no response. That's a bad sign, actually. The Joint Chiefs have already began moving assets around. A complete MIMC Forward Division has departed from McKagan Occupied Rovonia and we don't even know what's going on yet. This doesn't look good; but then again, anytime there's a lack of communication it doesn't look good. So.... how are you, anyway?"

General Saltzman watched the televison screen with great interest, especially after what had occured with High Father and his god-like display of power in support of his people. Many of his ministers and the assistants present found it hard to believe, but they had seen the same television news programs along with first-hand reports they had been given to them from intelligence agents operating in an observer role within the country.

"Obviously something needs to be done to stabilize the country before we see a complete breakdown of social order and widespread violence," suggested the Minister of Foreign Affairs, "Perhaps we should appeal to the world in creating a multinational Stabilization Force to halt the Leafanistani military from taking furthur actions against the demonstrators and those of the population who support them."

"I'm sure there are many of Leafanistan's allies prepared to deploy forces for such a purpose, perhaps we could join in the operations and cooperate with them," suggested an Army Officer, "However, it may be better to wait until one of these allies speaks up and initializes the deployment of their forces."

"All right," said Saltzman as he looked about the room, "Continue to monitor the situation and I want hourly reports on my desk."

Neo had waiting in the kitchen of the Emerald Executive Recluse, for roti pata and a glass of water. It had been a good but exhausting day, and he was to start ending his long day by having a soda and lying his moderately built, five foot eleven inch frame on a recliner on the Emerald Balcony.

As he inserted the plate containing the Southeast Asian foods and the universal drink, he received a series of ringing sounds from his mobile phone.
What now? he thought; it was typical of him to receive phone calls or his aides to pass him a phone, so he wasn't surprised. He deposited the meal onto the small, self-owned unfoldable table he prepared, and looked at the screen.

Surrounded by neon blue light, and in black text, was the word: "SDPMLEONG". Neo felt like a sword had been stabbed through his heart. Something was wrong. Normally Leong wouldn't call him at this time unless it was for personal reasons (the two were good friends from childhood), nor would Leong use the DPMLEONG mobile phone directed for official executive purposes to call his personal phone.

"Yes, Neo speaking, what is it?"

"Turn on the television Nelson, Channel News Asia, IMMEDIATELY."

"What is it?"

"Just do it!"

"Fine, fine." Neo hated to turn on the television without being told what was going on, same with the telephone, something he had earned from being annoyed by his sibling as well.

"This is Channel News Asia, bringing to you, courteosy of GSRN, live film from what is happening in Memorial Square, located in Concord, the capitol of the Union of Southeast Asian Nations' closest allies, the Glorious Confederacy of Leafanistan."

BREAKING NEWS ON THE MASSACRE OF MEMORIAL SQUARE IN LEAFANISTAN

"There you have it, fellow viewers. It seemed that the cabinet's recently developed suspicions, announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a week ago (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10382990&postcount=25), that the Glorious Confederacy is going under a social collapse for the past two months now, has been confirmed. Initially denied by a spokesperson of the Confederate Socialist Reform Party (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10387595&postcount=27), it seems highly likely now that the Neo Adminis - "

Neo turned off the television. He had seen enough, and had no idea what the hell was going on in failing nation that his nation had considered a close friend....even though he himself had never ever visited Leafanistan or met High Father himself and neither had High Father stepped onto the soil of the Union of Southeast Asian Nations.

"Leong?"

"Yes?" Leong had been patient.

"Let's call a cabinet meeting."

"Alright," The Defense Minister said, "We can have two Mechanized-Infantry Divisions there in six days... not including the time it will take to get them to the docks, so make that more like seven or eight days. Naval wise, we have on station the 11th Carrier Battlegroup, they are about one day away from Leafanistans waters, we can have them begin moving as soon as you give the order. Of course, there is a problem."

"Whats that?" The Supreme Commander asked.

The Foreign Minister spoke up, "We're not sure what part of the military supports who. Its obvious that there is going to be a civil war. We just dont know what branch will support who. If a majority of the Navy supports whoever tied High Father up, we'll have to fight our way through."

The Intellegince-Consortium Minister spoke up, "From sattelite accounts we already know that about two mechanized divisions tried to surpress the protest and kill High Father, but... we dont know what else is supporting whoever did this."

Supreme Commander Gregori nodded before saying, "Get those troops to the transports, but hold off on sending them. Lets wait and see what happens now."

"A tragedy, our current estimates put 4,500 hundred dead in the city though thermographs from McKagan private satellites put the estimate much higher. And now tonight we bring you footage shot no less than 5 hours ago, a coup, on international television, in front of billions."

"The frame is focused on Cynthia Ives, the Prime Minister of this rapidly deterorating country as she answers questions from MPs or members of Parliament. The occasionally shakes are from explosions just outside. Now here is Supreme Commander of the Leafanistani Navy; Admiral O'Toole, walking up to the Prime Minister and delivering a stinging slap across the face. She then removes her service weapon and with help from a Confederate Guard regiment attempts to arrest Prime Minister Ives. However, it is at this time a Colonel in the Army walks in and forces Admiral O'Toole to give up the Prime Minister."

The Defense Minister spoke up quickly, "We get those transports and that Battlegroup moving, we should first begin a systematic destruction of the Leafanistanian RADAR network... but..."

The Supreme Commander raised an eyebrow, "They are using SAMs manufactured by us? Remember? The max range on those MDM-4s we sold to them is 300 kilometers, the max range for the HARM is 80 kilometers! We're going to lose alot of planes doing this."

The Supreme Commander met this with the absolute uncaring that he always had, "They are expendable, remember? Project MeatPuppet has ensured that, as has our massive stocks of equipment in storage."

The Defense Minister nodded, "But do you know how hard it is to resupply a carrier in the middle of the sea with aircraft?"

The Supreme Commander considered this, then uttered, "Fuck."

50 And as the children seemed to fall around their father
51 Horsemen, brave horsemen, rose up
52 And fought for their cause.

Concord, Leafanistan

Captain Alleluia was on the ground and fighting in the brutal urban environment. Militiamen and local CDI forces were supporting him, but without the heavy armour of the 8th Confederate Guard Mechanized which was arriving in 3 days they would be doomed in 2. Their weapons were ineffective against the larger vehicles and their supply lines could only bring them so many Molotov Cocktails. High Father was on the other side of the city holding off the Mobile Infantry, his pyrokinesis could only last so long before he needed to rest and switch to infantry weapons. Captain Alleluia felt a breif bit of bliss as he cut down his fellow soldier with a few rounds from a civilian AK-109. To be fighting with High Father himself was a great honor.

Suddenly an A-10 roared over and tore the APC they were struggling against to shreds. A quick cheer rose up as they advanced 2 more streets ahead. "4 more blocks for High Father" thought Captain Alleluia.

Confederate Army Barracks/Atomic Cavarly, outside Concord city limits

The Colonel there had had enough of this. He was a member of the Atomic cavarly, the only unit still operating the older M1999 Motorcycles and the only unit to be issued with the Maverick Rev-6 Bolter. And still the Army considered them a joke. When he saw them trying to kill High Father he had had enough.

He ordered his men to mount up, the first time in years, and to load up the ATGMs and to ride.

Concord, Leafanistan, 8th Street

Captain Alleluia's men and women were pinned down now, they had brought in a Tank Destroyer and decimated the building behind them, killing an entire platoon. They were out of cocktails and were out of cocktail range anyway. The grenades were of no use against that thing and the SA-8 TELARs had scared off air support. They were dead meat as regular infantry moved up slowly. He wished he actually could talk to High Father, just once before he died.

But it wasn't to be, suddenly the roar of motorcycles could be heard and the tank took a hit from above. Mortars started raining down on the tank, the spare tanks in the back of the tank caught fire. The infantry fled, as the first cycle flew over a pile of debris and landed in their midst. The helmeted driver, in a full NBC BDU with the red lit eyes sent the Army units panicing. The Bolter tore men limb for limb in a single shot and dispersed them.

Captain Alleluia was in a state of shock, moments ago he was about to be killed by a Tank destroyer, now motorcycles and people in full, very scary looking suits, had chased them off with massive revolvers. Then he let his senses come back to him and went up to the officer sporting the highest rank. Though they were all on average 2 metres tall, the lead officer still seemed huge. The lead officier removed his helmet, snapped a quick salute and said, "Atomic Cavalry, Concord Garrison, Ready to fight for High Father, SIR!" Captain Alleluia felt his spirits rise, the Cavalry, literally had come.

The Stevens Port is open, it is about 230 kilometres from the city of Concord. The Concord/Roma/Stevens Autobahn will take you straight to the city within a few hours if we move fast enough. The port will be open as long as we can hold out. The local CDI Brigade along with the 14th Confederate Guard will keep it open. The Coastal Artillery controls the various SAM sites all around Leafanistan, its a division of the Navy. Perfect. Currently the Army and Marines seemed focused on getting airports/bases and ports. And they are heavily reinforcing the City. John..I mean Captain Alleluia are holding them off and privately owned vehicles including the Concordia Private Tank Owners Club have sucessfully repelled the 30th and the 23rd from the city, and they've taken several hundred prisoners.

Our forces in the city stand at around 14,000 Confederate Guard, and 37,000 Militia. We need reinforcements, from the Air if possible. We have air superiority at this point, though the Marines are harassing us.

Concord, Leafanistan, Warehouse District

Here it was relatively unharmed, not much was here, except the Leafanistani Mafia. High Father strode the streets alone, he left the other men to their defenses. They had raided a few abandoned warehouses and now High Father was to make a payment.

The Mafia thug with his SMG spit and looked up and saw a man approaching. He lifted his weapon and squinted. He dropped his gun in horror and ran inside to inform the boss that High Father was outside. As the boss rushed to the door with reinforcements it swung open and there stood High Father, rather serious looking with in his uniform, blood-stained and dirtied and smelling of ash. He asked:

"Can a guy get some service?"

The boss ordered his men to lower his weapons and told another to get the keys to the warehouse. The boss went to his laptop while High Father took a seat. The boss turned the laptop and revealed the current inventory left in Concord:

140,000 AK-74 Rifles
45,002 Glock 9mm Pistols
1,200 RPG-2s
560 RPG-16s
200 KF9 Battle Rifles

250 M51 Ishermans (105mm Sherman rebuilds)
40 T-54s
12 T-72s
45 BTR-60s

High Father reached forward and tapped a few keys, the boss turned the laptop around and his eyes widened. High Father had ordered everything, paid for it in full, and left a 3 million US tip. The boss stood up as the first few tanks rolled out from the warehouses and said: 'We have a deal.'

Concord was reinforced.

"And you still opened fire on the civilians when instructed not to?!"

"Yes, sir."

Another voice stood up to the judge.

"Civilians my ass, they were firing at us!"

"Damn it, 1st Lt. Markov, hold your tongue! This court will not hear your damned excuses any longer!"

Before the judge can fully berate the offending pilot known as Markov, a group of military officers and civilians walks into the tribunal room. The room falls silent. They look serious as they seat themselves in a juror's box.

"All jurors rise."

The group stands at attention, as a Colonel with the Air Force (the head juror) walks over to the center of the dimmed court room.

"We the Jury, on behalf of the Allied Union of Velkya's Air Force, find the defendents, 1st Lt. Alexi Markov, 2nd Lt. John Hamilton, Lt. Col. Shaun Provinceburg, Lt. Col. Danial Vexion and 1st Lt. Zackary Westing,m based on the evidence found by the court, guilty of crimes against Kraven civilians during Operation Firestorm. As we are also entrusted with finding a suitable punishment for the five mentioned pilots, we recommend a minimum twenty year prison sentence at Ft. Dog, followed by permenant expulsion from the armed force of Velkya."

The pilots look defeated. The court room becomes slowly filled with the sounds of talking and gossip. The judge bangs his gavel loudly upon it's metal plate, before standing.

"With the power given to me by the President of the Allied Union, I declare that the jury's verdict and statement is valid, and that the twenty year prison sentence and explusion from the military is declared to be valid as well. This tribunal is adjourned, all sentenced will be escorted via guarded aircraft to Ft. Dog immeditatly. Good day."

With that, the judge banged his gavel, and sealed the five pilot's fates forever.

Ok, now I'm really confused. It appears a full scale civil war has broken out. McKagan has no reason to stop recognizing High Father as the legitimate ruler of Leafanistan. However, I do not feel it is a heathy practice to begin choosing sides in another nations war. Because of these limitations, I am putting forth the following suggestion:

An international coalition should be formed. This coalition will have one goal: peace in Leafanistan. It will choose no side, attack no one without reason.

Regardless of international alliances, the McKagan Senate has passed an emergency piece of legislation. Inside it details are passed outlining what I can order to stop the fighting in Leafanistan. So, with that in mind, there is now an Official McKagan Declaration to all fighting parties in and around Leafanistan: Anyone still fighting or holding arms after 24 hours has passed will be neutralized and not allowed to continue whatever form of civil war they were planning on.

We have lots of spare parts for them of all types... maybe we can even build some of our own. We got modern missiles for the MiGs though, AA-11s and -12s.

As for the Vehicles, we'll try to get them over to your warehouses in Zedison. We have enough T-90s in storage to to equip three Red Tidean Mechanized-Infantry Divisions with. Even more in the case of the BTR-90 and BMP-3 APCs. And we have a metaphorical army of military class transport trucks. However, we need more transports if we are to begin to get a reasonable number of products over there.

PS: You think the Socialist Faction can go for some Chinese made Silkworm Anti-Ship Missiles? How about Russian made SA-12A Surface-Air Missiles?"

The 11th Carrier Battlegroup steamed towards the shore, its men were called to battlestations. The Patrol of H/K-2 VTOL Fighter-Interceptors roared on partol overhead. The Battlegroup consisted of:

1 TSUNAMIS Class VTOL Supercarrier
2 RAVEN Class AEGIS Cruisers
5 M-Battleships
5 G-Battleships
12 TIDAL WAVE Class Destroyers
24 MOCKINGBIRD Class Frigates
12 TC-2C ASW Helicopters

The Carrier began to broadcast a radio message to the Loyalist Naval Forces.

"Attention! Glorious supporters of High Father! This is the RTNS HAWKING, flagship of the eleventh Red Tidean Carrier Battlegroup! We are here in support of High Father and to ensure the safety of our troop transports when they arrive, Please direct us to where we are needed most."

On board, the men prepared to launch the Dark Star Reconassiance UAV.

Good, good, very nice. We'll make a killing. The Reformists will go for anything, the Loyalist Navy is a big threat to them and so is the Air Force. You do your homework well. I'm also making a killing in the Civilian market with concerned citizens buying up every gun they can. High Father just made a multi-million dollar purchase a few hours ago and left a big tip, so we are advancing 1.5 million US to you now.

"Bad news, we were able to get a bunch of shipments out of Ariga, then the entire dock was closed down so two entire Red Tidean Mechanised-Infantry Divisions could be loaded on too some military transport ships. That means there is going to be delays as I shift the products over too the port in Crig. We rented out some big car transports from the Tech-Com Corporation over there, so we can make up for lost time with more products. The first six shipments should arrive on time. The first three are carrying some MiGs and Sukhois, not to mention a batch of Silkworm Missiles. The last three shipments are carrying some T-90S tanks and BTR-90 APCs, they'll be heading to Zedison."

Captain Jung Kim was nervous, the whole rebellion made his headache. He forces were unsure, while orders from Admiral O'Toole were orders, he had no loyalty to High Father. "How could just the Navy and the Air Force topple the Reformists and the Army?" He couldn't let his men die for a mad dictator. He made his choice and moved the Fleet out from Port Stevens. The Dreadnaught group there was unable to do anything as the Nimitz Supercarrier of the 4th Northern Fleet left port and steamed at full speed away from the port toward Reformist forces broadcasting the betrayal.

Captain Kim hoped he had made the correct decision. But now under the leadership of Field Marshall Xiao, he was promoted to Rear Admiral Kim and given leadership of the shoddy fleet Xiao had.

McKagan
12-02-2006, 20:26
With the large number of Leafanistani Naval Vessels acting odd a call went through to the McKagan Joint Chiefs of Staff. Before long the 17th Marine Division would be boosted by 12 more Destroyers, although it was unclear if they would make it to formation inside the twenty-four hour window. To make up for this vast outnumberance a group of 12 Kiefe Class SSH's (Convoy Raiding Submarines) are rushed to their area at their maximum speed, taking only a short time.

The KLA-45 UCAV's aboard the Escort Carrier were the perfect asset for attacking shipping, although the second they left their ship the reformist fleet would be alerted. To solve this problem, the IMAF KLA-39 Regional Bombers stationed in Saharistan would be launched with four (4) hours left in the deadline before the McKagan promised intervention. That would put them stealthing near the enemy fleet with one hour left. At that time the enemy fleet would have to make its move, and without standing down, the 27th Tactical Wing (loaded out for ground supression) would unload their missiles against the old fleet, probably destroying it with great ease.

Xi'an Port... 0030 Hours

The Snow was horizontal, the winds were whipping up a snow storm like no other, the Port of Xi'an was Ice Locked and people too'd and Fro'd about their business with their long winter weather trench coats pulled up high against their necks...

Lights gently swayed in the bleak night, despite the cold, the town looked warmingly inviting...

A local Drinking hole was full of life, people laughed while they clashed drinks, in celebration, alcohol spilling onto the floor with roars of laughter and cheers...

In the Darkness however were two red glowing eyes, a long Grey trench coat covering the frame, the Assault rifle slung over its shoulder... the frame was stood above the town, on a rocky out crop...

A craft sat idle on the cliff face, Other ones just like the first stood on guard...

"Legionare 188... Report"

The figures voice crackled over the airwaves, permiated by the howling winds that kicked up its trench Coat...

"Reporting.... Minimal Military Presence, High Civilian Ratio... Awaiting further orders"

"Standby..."

Shockwaves rushed through the fleet as their only supercarrier abandoned them. There was a mix of rage and confusion as the thing disappeared into the waters choked with ice and snow. Admiral O'Toole was furious at the thought of how happy Xiao would be, if he knocked out their base here, they would immediate reinforcements to Concord. She called up Captain Alleluia and told him to make the orders ready and to deploy already.

Xi'an, "The Ice Hole"

A drunkard walked out, the vodka keeping him warm, or at least he tried to, he ran head first into CDI forces patrolling the area. He was nearly shot but the soldier held his fire. He let the man go. Xi'an was at best a temporary settlement, the winter would just get worse, they would have to evacuate the town anyway. The ships were frozen to the docks and theives would die of cold soon enough. The CDI forces packed onto the snowmobiles and left to rejoin Army forces 100 km to the south. Only the People's Guard were left, and they were drunk.

The troops were ready to move, they had prepared their snow mobiles and SUS-Vs and the cold acclimated AVT-97Cs. They pushed out down the unplowed road with little to no visibility. The People's Guard stayed back and were to only act as a rear guard, their Half-tracks followed the paths created by the lead tanks. OOC:Leafanistan, I am confused... WHAT Marines? My military does not have a Marine Corp. The closest it has is are the Red Tide Armies Amphibious Assault Divisions... NONE of which have been sent, currently the only Red Tidean things in Leafanistan is the Carrier Battlegroup, the two Mech-Infantry Divisions are still on their way, as are the Mafia Shipments, although those will arrive sooner then the Mech-Infantry Divisions.

IC:The first six Red Tide Mafia Ships, waving the flags of and registered with a neutral nation that still trades with Leafanistan arrived at the edge of Leafanistans waters, the first three split off and headed for the Leafanistani Mafia Headquarters. These ones were loaded with a half of a Red Tidean sqaudron(1 sqaudron=6 aircraft) of MiG-23s, half a sqaudron of Su-24s, a dozen Silkworm Anti-Ship Cruise Missiles, and a single launcher for the aforementioned missiles.

The latter group were carrying a Russian style Platoon worth of T-90S Main Battle Tanks, and a Russian company worth of BTR-90s and BMP-3s, they headed for Zedison. Both groups carried spare parts and ammunition for the equipment they were carrying.

The Red Tidean Military Transports were steaming on a roudabout course to Zedison(to avoid any ships and airplanes still allied with the Reformists), they were now 12 hours away from Leafanistan.

"Why were we unable to duplicate effects like this in Project Genesis*?"
"Most of the test subjects died." The nistolonian said, simply.
"I see. Well. This disturbance could prove benifical. Send in an Assault Group** of Black Dragons. They can lie low and perhaps gain military information, steal supplies, and we can even use them for negotiations."
Another nistolonian picked up a phone and dieled. "Thy will be done, Warmaster"

*= Project Genesis was a project that geneticly modified all Nistolonians. It gave them improved sensory and physical characteristcs, but gave them strange (to humans) animalistic characteristics such as pointed ears, a lack of body hair, eyes that resemble snakes and other, subtle changes. It DOES NOT make them supermen. They are nothing remotly near High Father, and die just as easily to a gun/missile/sword/thingy as anyone else.

Alexi put the phone down, and was escorted back to the cell. The guard at the station locked the door, but it didn't sound right. Alexi and the others examined the lock when the guard passed out of sight, and lo and behold, the lock had failed. With one hard shove, Alexi and the others could be free. He quietly dicussed it with the others.

"This is our only chance, boys."

Another answered quietly, "This fuckin' sucks, I'm in no condition to betray our country."

"What betray, we've been locked in a cell for twenty years for a crime we didn't fucking do. This is our only chance, we need to take it."

Shaun sat back. "And suppose we manage to make it out. Then what? Walk over the Octavian border and get shot?"

Alexi leaned back in his own chair, smiling.

"There's a few ISF-4 sqaudrons based here, we could make it to the fortress runway and steal some and escape that way."

"And go where, assuming that the CDF SAMs don't blow us out of the sky?"

Alexi held up a newspaper that they had been given. He pointed to a story.

"Leafanistan. I had a member of an organization in-country contact me via the telephone. He says they can arrange for an escape into the nation."

Shaun scoffed (though quietly). "You're going to believe a voice you heard on a fucking telephone in the middle of the most secure fortress this side of the globe?"

Alexi grinned. "It's our only shot at freedom." He motioned towards the broken lock. "Besides, the first set of cards is laid out for us." At that moment, a guard passed by, brandishing his LAR-11 (loaded with non-lethal ammo) and looking at the group of pilots in disgust. He faced the security station.

Alexi looked at Shaun, and nodded. Shaun nodded back. Shaun slammed the door open, flying through the smashed door. As the guard turned to react, he slammed the guard into a wall, knocking him out and grabing his LAR-11. Shaun, at that momment, opened fire with his newly aqquired weapon, non-lethal ammo spewing all over the tight confines. Alexi yelled for the others to escape, as the group pushed passed the dazed security guard. Unfourtunatly, the alarm had already been tripped. A fireteam of soldiers, armed with actual weapons, rushed to the cell block. Alexi motioned for the group to fall in. They could hear the echoing footsteps of the men growing louder and louder by the second.

"Alright, Shaun, take Danny and Zack and go through Cell Block A to the hangers. John, follow me through the surface hatch, we'll make a run for the field. Meet at the first hanger on the left. Got it."

A chorus of postitive responses followed as the two groups split. Shaun's group, each holding a weapon stolen from the incapicitated guards, burst through the cellblock, much to the dismay of the guards there. They opened fire, striking down the three soldiers who were having a cup of coffee in the station. Moving outside, they came under fire from the many sniper towers dotting the fortress. Klaxons blared as sharpshooters took aim and blasted away with ARC-4s, the 6mm bullets pinging off the cement all around them. "This way, this way!" Shaun called, sending the group through a covered maintence section. Bits of the buildings around them began to hit them, as the heavy rounds missed their mark. Then, the machine guns opened up, the fifty caliber slugs began to cover their immediate area.

They could hear the guards getting closer, as the prisoners darted up a stairway. They could see the lights of the hanger getting closer and closer, and each did his best to keep his head down. Then, he stepped out. A single guard, brandishing a pistol, began firing point blank into the fleeing pilots. Without even thinking, Zack threw his own weapon up and fired. The rubber bullet, instead of hitting the man's chest. Impacted his head. The sheer force of the weapon that close snapped his neck, sending spiralling to the floor, gagging. Zack stopped, bending over to help the man. A round grazed his arm, making him cry out in pain. Shaun pushed his comrade forward, leaving the guard to die. Soon, they reached the safety of the hanger, although only for a moment. Zack yelled out, screaming at Shaun.

"What the fuck did we leave him out there for?!"

Shaun grabbed Zack by the neck.

"You want to fucking die?!"

Soon, Alexi and John made it over as well, a trail of bullets following them. "Is everyone here?" After hearing everyone's answer, they moved behind cover, heading for a locker room. Alexi advised them to don flight suits and pick up helmet before they managed to get their aircraft. It took several minutes to get into the jumpsuits, but that was all it took. Soon, the sound of footfalls of sqauds of soldiers began to fill the hanger. The pilots came out, guns blazing. While Shaun and Danny used their assualt rifles to pin the enemy down at the door, Zack ran over to the main hanger door, slamming down the opening switch. The hanger door started to life, as Alexi and John jumped into two of the Xeons, starting their engines. As they progressed outside the hanger, the other three found aircraft as well, dodging bullets from their persuers.

Alexi held the lead aircraft, as he started down the runway. Bullets from the guard's rifles pinged off the alloyed armor, leaving naught but small nicks in the paint. That is, until the recoiless rifle round flashed by the cockpit. Alexi pushed his throttle to the maximum, the aircraft rumbling down the dim runway.

Come on, come on, just a bit further...

Then it happened. The plane's nose lifted up, pointing high into the night sky, a few bullets still hitting the exterior. Activating his plane's stealth systems, he blended into the night, climbing to 60,000 feet, followed by his buddies. "Pretty smooth fucking escape back there, huh?" Zack piped up. "I can't stop thinking about that guard I shot back there. He looked like he was in so much pain." Alexi added, finishing the talk. "Look Zack, his buddies probably got to him by now, he'll be fine. At any rate, I want you guys to maintain radio silence until we reach international airspace, over?" Thankfully, the planes had a loadout of mostly fuel tanks with only two missiles a piece. They would barely have enough fuel for the trip to Leafanistan, but they would make it.

But it was not to be. Soon, their radioes filled with the sound of a AWACs intercept. "All units, this is Northern Air Defense Command, we have five
ISF-4s which have been commandeered by prisoners from Ft. Dog, them are currently approaching the northeastern coastline, intercept them immediatly." Shaun smiled smugly, despite the situation. "Look's like we'll have company, huh guys? I still can't believe we pulled that crap off back there."Alexi opened his com-link. "Let's try to outrun these bastards, throttle to 100%. Hey Shaun, radio silence means shut the hell up." The other four followed his lead, and soon had broken Mach 3 and has passed over the coastline. "Too late, Alex, we got company. Six ISF-2s, coming down at hypersonic speed at five'o'clock." Alexi check his RADAR display.

Shit.

The four contacts were highly visible due to their scramjet engines, and soon, the five planes found themselves being tracked. "Shit, everyone, break off and engage!" John spoke up for the first time in the flight. "Engage?! Are you fucking nuts?!" Alexi scolded John over the radio. "You want to die?! If not, break off and take them down!" The five fighters then broke off in seperate directions, just as their missile warnings spiked up.

Shit, my IFF must still be on.

After turning off his IFF signal, the missile promptly disengaged. Given the stealth capabilties of the ISF-4 over the ISF-2, this would be a fairly one sided fight. Unfourtunatly, by the time the prisoners had turned their IFFs off, the missiles had activated terminal IR tracking. The heat from their engines going full blast was enough for the sensitive seekers of the QMAAMs, and the enemy missiles came in at full speed. Even so, Alexi managed to shake off the encroaching missile, executing a maneuver in which he hit the airbrakes on his plane, allowing the enemy plane to fly right by him.

Bingo.

The main cannon ripped through his adversary, his auto-eject system forcing him out of his plane before it exploded in a ball of fire and metal. "Scratch one!" came the call, as Alexi went on to engage a bandit which was lining up for a strafing run on Zack. Loosing a missile from it's rail (leaving only a single leleft), Alexi watched as his adversary's plane lost a wing, the ejection system never taking effect, as the plane plowed into the ground. It was nearly over. Shaun had destroyed one, and so had John. The remaining enemy fighter appeared to break off the engagement, and head home. The five pilots cheered their luck, as they continued towards the coastline. Then, it came, out of nowhere. An ALRAAM. Then another, then another. Four missiles streaked out from the bandit, all seeking out John. "John, no, move!"

It was too late. The missiles impacted John's aircraft, vaporising it in a cloud of burning fuel and alloy. John never had a prayer. "John....no...damn it!" As the remaining enemy plane exploded by a righteous missile shot from Shaun, the rest of the pilots fell silent.

It would be a quiet ride from there to Leafanistan, as they mourned the loss of their comrade in silence.

One of members of the cabinet was not present at the table. It was Joshua Lin, whom was in the Libertarian Concordance of Czardas. And how insulting it was to the situation: the Southeast Asian delegate to Leafanistan, was stuck in the turmoiled nation's capitol.

All of the cabinet members were present, and all were shaky about what they have seen on the television. They didn't know which faction to aid: the Loyalists of High Father, or the Confederate Socialist Reform Party, which held a good chunk of the Parliament and the armed forces. They didn't know why was High Father angry. The only thing they did know was that the Leafanistani ambassador to Southeast Asia was fortunately in the capitol and that Consulate Robert Bemet, was stuck in an environment with plenty of violent carnage; and that he could get hurt.

"Gentlemen," spoke the Prime Minister with a slightly nervous tone, "I know that we have absolutely no idea what the hell is going on. But what we do know is that Bemet is caught in a combat zone. And we must get him out of there."

"Kanter," he turned his head toward the Minister of Communications and Junior Deputy Prime Minister Arnold Kanter, "have you been able to get ahold of Bemet?"

"No Mr. Neo," he sighed, "the communications lines have been severely damaged, probably as a result of damage from the conflict going on about. However, we can have spy satellites to monitor the situation from above and we know the coordinates of the embassy, so we should be able to get them out of there."

"Um, Kanter, Leafanistan is going through a harsh snowstorm, particularly in areas surrounding the capitol - namely a good chunk of the Glorious Confederacy. However, on the commando units, that can be arranged." Nettleton butted in, "which faction should we aid, Mr. Neo? The Loyalists or the CSRP?"

"First, we get our diplomat out of Concord. Then we get to that." Neo answered. "Agreed, fellow ministers?"

They all nodded.

"Excellent. Let's roll."

92 While High Father and his children
93 Sat in Concord, besieged by the traitorous forces,
94 Waiting.

Coastal Artillery, MDM-4 Station, 12 kilometres from Xi'an Port

The Leafanistani built long range RADAR array were on the fritz. The snowy conditions were giving false readings all across the board. However, the Mafia informant just had one task, spot the planes the Velkyan defectors used. The powerful array was part of a massive Arctic Defense Ring and getting near it would cook someone alive. It could only be turned on in short bursts and suddenly an odd reading came up. The Mafia informant quickly isolated it and turned around in his chair. Everyone else had left for a food run hours ago in Xi'an. Perfect. He deactivated the Auto-Foe seeking MDM-4s and sent a burst transmission.

"Velkyan pilots, 420 kilometres to Zedison, cleared at Runway 3, watch for us."

He then picked up his glass of hot chocolate and walked over to the array module. He then slowly poured the mix on the module frying it. It would take 4 hours to replace it, especially in wartime. He drank the rest and sent a frantic call, he removed his hidden weapon and shot out a skylight. When the Major answered at the other end, the howl of the wind was clear and all the Major could here was a desperate Captain demanding a replacement of a module damaged from water.

Concord, Leafanistan, Embassy Row

The Southeastasian building was packing up, everyone was getting ready to leave, the artillery had been pounding the area and it was only a matter of time before it would hit them. A few diplomatic cars had left with some Sungri Scouts to the airfield to try to see if any planes would take off. Consular Robert Bemet was nearly done when a 105 mm shell hit his building, tearing it apart.

Concord, Leafanistan, Southeastasian Embassy, 7 hours later

Consular Robert Bemet felt the soft touch of snow on his face. He looked up and saw the sky. Then he remembered he was inside a second ago, so the sky would be a terrible sight. Then he started moving, someone was dragging him, he heard the sounds of quiet, very different from the bombardment hours ago. Then he turned around, a soldier, a Lt. Colonel, wearing a red armband was dragging him to a group of other soldiers with similar armbands.

Consular Bemet was given a coat, a wool one, the cold was brutal. The radioman was calling up someone, Bemet's ears were bleeding, a byproduct of the massive explosion. He could barely hear the radioman, he only caught bits and pieces. "Delegate recovered....High Father....Send convoy....rear." The Lt. Colonel looked very happy, he had a big smile on his face, he handed Bemet a hot cup of coffee, it was the thick, instant white coffee mix from the MREs of Leafanistani standard equipment. Bemet drank it, it was warm, terribly warm compared to the cold outside. The Lt. Colonel named himself, "Nathan, Lt. Colonel Nathan Mellon, you are very lucky my friend, we were searching for survivors and found you alive and well."

Then Lt. Col. Mellon became very stern, "Still the situation is bad, we are trapped here with High Father, a snowstorm is coming in and from what I understand the nearest Confederate Guard and Red Tidean reinforcements are nearly 5 days away. The 3rd Army will be here in 3."

Bemet was still confused, but now he was warm and safe, inside damaged department store overlooking his destroyed office. The platoon was full of similar looking soldiers, all wearing the red armbands, sitting by the fire.

"Roger, Shadow Lead." That was Captain J'edros on the other line. "We'll keep our channels open. Out"

The 6 Vipers flew in low over the water, non-vital systems offline to reduce signature. Inside, the Black Dragons were checking their equipment and reviewing their ops data. The command to suit up came over the commlink, and they pulled the body armour and systems that they weren't currently waiting, loaded weapons quickly scanned their buddies equipment for problems.

Time had passed.

McKagan had stated that within twenty-four hours everyone in Leafanistan would lay down their arms or McKagan would be forced to pacify the nation. President Cavalt had ordered the 27th Tactical Wing on standy and to launch after 20 hours. They put them in the theater with 1 hour left. As it appeared, everyone had shit on the proposal. It was time to show the world that McKagan was serious.

The KLA-39 had been a project designed to replace the last 20 of McKagan's B-2 bombers. The project was so sucessful in the end, however, that they replaced nearly all of the Kriegzimmer built units and half of the domestic ones. One major asset was a new system that allowed for 68 missiles to be carried per plane on a system of rotary launchers. This allowed the planes to deliver a barrage of missiles very, very quickly.

The 27th was a highly equiped unit. Containing a fighter squadron and a bomber squadron, not to mention a Special Helicopter Regiment, it was known as a composite wing. Deployed in Libertad, it had a great reach.

Deployed to airspace outside of Leafanistan was a total of 16 KLA-39's. Each with their maximum missile loadout, they targeted the rogue fleet (the rebel, former Leafanistani one.) It wasn't as if they were hard to find. Massive, hot ships in a frozen wasteland(or ocean) weren't stealthy. Not to mention their air search RADAR's, which gave them away.

The missiles were all tungsten "air burst" warhead-equiped. Meaning they would burst just over the ships and spray them with the hardened substance, destroying just about everything indiscriminately. Soon after arriving in theatre the deadline passed, and the 1088 missiles were launched, almost ensuring the complete destruction of the fleet.

After it was out of the way, the McKagan ships would land, set up a safe zone, and fight the massive army that was 'coming up the interstate.'

"We are at the target zone. All Units, drop cargo, drop troops."

The first three vipers shifted into VTOL mode about 20 feet above the water and slowly lowered to about 5. From inside, the Black Dragons dropped out a few snmall, cargo IBSs, though they were more like submarines, sitting about 6 feet under the water. (note: They have an enclosed cargo space, and no room for crew. The engine is turned on and the troops grab onto the side and steer. They can also funcion as surface ships). Then came the first 48 Nistolonians, who dissappeared beneath the water in their dive suits.

The remaining three vipers continued parrallel to the coast, before repeating the process. The Black Dragons were inbound.

Rear Admiral Kim had no idea what hit him. Suddenly his Nimitz was on fire, planes exploding left and right, his cruises were destroyed, the destroyers were all heavily damaged. His ragtag fleet was nearly completely sunk. He pulled toward the shoreline to beach the massive ship. He told an aide to phone Xiao. He picked up his service KF11 and ran into the cold and began orders to begin moving everything off the ship and to abandon it.

With the enemy fleet falling apart the 17th Marine Division had to make its move to get to shore. It wouldn't effect their landing in any case, they were going to the port to land on the docks before moving to attack. The only thing that stood in their way was the few destroyers that were all about to go under anyway. The Commander of the 17ths' Naval Forces, Admiral Xan, wasn't going to let the people on these ships make it to shore as a personal goal. If they did they'd be attacked by naval gunfire, but they still may slip away and help in a guerilla war against MIMC supply lines.

He ordered a full on attack against what was left of the navy. The Amphibious ships all took up a defensive position (protected by their own destroyers) as four (4) Illusion Class Frigates broke away from the formation and approached the fleet. With the chaos that was likely ensuing aboard each ship it was a given that someone may not be watching the CIWS. Because of this they chose their first offensive action to be missiles. They fired a total of twenty five (25) Principe III (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8597823&postcount=19) missiles into the fleet. Then, as if with a sign of closing, they opened up with their 127mm (5 inch) guns. As they did that a massive attack launched behind them. The Kilta Class Dreadnaught, the command ship, opened up with its sidearm of 12 inch railguns. Most of the gunfire was targeted at the remaining escorts. The destroyers were all being pelted. The aircraft carrier, however, was left alone. A destroyer in the fleet watched it, if a plane tried to take off it would be instantly engaged with a hail of AAA.

As this battle was wraping up a Kurora Class Corvette moves ahead. It has its Marines on deck, armed with rifles. They begin to search the wreckage of the fleet for survivors and take anyone floating alive in the water aboard. These people are read their rights and told they are under the official custody of the Imperial McKagan Navy. A special holding chamber is set up below the ship, it has everything a large group of prisoners will need to live for several weeks; although it will be fairly close living if a large number is picked from the water.

Then, it hit him. Admiral Xan had a chance here. A McKagan vessel hadn't captured a registered naval vessel of another nation... ever. His Task Force (Artia) had a total of 5 Illusion Class Frigates. Only four of those were assaulting what was left of the fleet as they tried to beach themselves. He also had six (6) Kurora Class Corvettes.

I'm genius.

It was a simple move. The Frigate and two Corvettes moved off to carry out their orders. At the rate things were going the destroyers would either be destroyed or surrendering before they made it to their position. Regardless, they moved in. As the Corvettes set up their positions beside the carrier.

While they did this an amphibious assault vessel began unloading troops. Destined to unload a regiment, they poured nearly 2000 troops on the beach via LCAC's. They set up a circle like firing line around the landing zone of the carrier. They were armed with Hali-42 (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10432548&postcount=12) rifles. It's unlikely that the destroyers, who are either destroyed or running for their lives into a beachhead, will fire to the shoreline. If they do, a Localized-Air-Defense System is set up to engage enemy shells.

"Carrier and crew, you are to surrender. This is a repeat. All vessels in rebel armada are to cease all movement and point your guns down. Do this at once and you will not be destroyed. Repeat: Cease and surrender."

The message repeated three times, then a destroyer at the rear guarding the amphibious ships activated a signal jammer. It blocked radio signals from leaving the area. The advanced technology was something new that allowed the Avisron Class Destroyer to form a "ring" around an area to stop it from communicating. This would be a perfect test for it.

As the Corvettes and Frigate set up their line of fire; four (4) Kiefe Class SSH's left their patrol behind the troop transports. They unloaded a total of three torpedos each towards the remaining destroyers.

106 And they went to the deep to die.
107 And their leader, in humilation, took his own life
108 But unleashed a demon in doing so, a dark sun.

Rear Admiral Kim was now royally pissed off, though he hadn't a chance in the world now. His fleet was ramshackle and the small ships fled and already a few destroyers had run aground and their crews fleeing into the snow. They would die quickly in the cold, he had no choice. He looked over to the signal station, and found it was actively being jammed. He activated the vacuum tube backup and prepared for a massive radio burst.

"We surrender, all ships, stand down, all ships, stand down."

The waves were powerful and brute forced their way through the jamming, Leafanistani redundancy was useful for once.

He then ordered the flashing of signal lights, 4 long, 4 short, 2 long, 2 short, the code for scuttle. He was humilated, he couldn't face Admiral O'Toole, nor could he face Field Marshall Xiao, he had one option. He waited until his men left the bridge and he personally took out a key, he inserted it into a lock and overrode reactor commands. He removed the control rods from the reactor, and it began to overheat. He knew what he did. He felt he did it for the good of the Parliament. He then snapped the key off inside the lock and shot it 9 times with his service pistol, destroying the control mechanism on the bridge. With his last round he put the gun to his temple and shot himself.

Rear Admiral Kim had commited suicide and the reactor was overheating in the Nimitz.

"Sir, we're getting very odd readings from the inside of the carrier. The temperature of the core is rising, that might be bad."

The Admiral had expected some sort of attempt like this to be made by an admiral in his last moments of control. People in power didn't like to fall out of power and into embarassment. That was about to happen to the Rear Admiral, so it was understandable he would make it was hard as possible for him to fall into IMN custody.

The McKagan fleet was NBC protected, as a given. None of the troop transports or their escorting fleet were in immediatate danger. The Frigates who were closer to the fleet began to fall back and slow down. The group of ships that had set up shop between the carrier and the beach all fled away. The chance the reactor would explode was almost none, and the carrier was sinking (on its own) in the middle of an arctic ocean: which would probably cool it off enough to stop the meltdown. The SSH's who had previously been attacking the formation of destroyers all changed their fire to the carrier, looking to put it down much sooner. The Marines on the shoreline were now the only McKagan forces in great danger, and the amount that the [BDU-64 Samson Battle Suit (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9140645&postcount=298) was deployed in the MIMC would make casulties on that front almost 0 should radiation leak into the atmosphere.

Without knowing that they were actually in any sort of danger the Marines in their defensive position that surrounded the crews of the landing destroyers all called out on loudspeakers a single, simple message:

"Lay down your weapons and sit down on the beach. You are now in the custody of the Imperial McKagan Navy."

135 Allies arrested the traitors, but they
136 Had no idea of the horrors that awaited them.

The men quickly dropped to the frozen earth, lying down in the ground as explosions erupted from the ships; C7 foam and C12 charges ensured a complete destruction of anything useful. A Ka-52 Alligator helicopter sat on the ground facing the Marines, its pilot was lying low in the cockpit. He was invisible and the gunship was a good 100m away from the Marines as they arrested the men on the beach. He moved his hand up and flipped on weapon's control, the 25mm Cannon came online and he peeked up onto the targetting screen and began to aim the cannon toward the densest concentration of Marines. He also flipped on the ATGMs and locked them onto the transports in the distance. He spent nearly 5 minutes organizing it all and as the Marines were arresting the final few on the beach, he jumped up into the seats and opened fire all at once.

8 ATGMs streaked toward 2 Transports as he moved the 25mm Cannon around, it had limited mobility and was only able to strike down a few Marines, but he was doing his part to do what he felt was right. Soon enough he would be dead with his comrades. It was a desperate attempt to do something, something to delay them for just enough time for a little surprise from the Army.

Far away the Army had been planning to be near the ships to help them unload when the debacle happened. The ships beached near Soyuzolva a major Army base and the local commander Colonel Sanchez decided he should bombard the beachhead to keep foreigners out of his beloved homeland. In the blinding snow he moved up the 175mm guns and loaded white phosporus rounds and then would follow up with normal shells. The snowstorm would keep aircraft grounded and if anything, he had enough MDM-4 batteries to take anything that took off down.

The Marines were caught off guard by the heavily armed helicopter, but it wasn't the end of the world. The 17 Marines who were killed in the opening conflict with the helicopter wouldn't be the last, but far more Leafanistani's would die. The McKagan Military had been preped and prepared for ungodly wars with massive militaries: They had to perform in a battle that wasn't as grand to prove all wasn't lost.

Soon after the large, slow helicopter opened up on the Marines, a Weapons Company opened up on the helicopter with an ungodly number of anti-TANK munitions that were just being unloaded. They wouldn't be able to take out a fast and agile helicopter, but something slow and bulky would soon fall.

The Marines weren't making their landing here, the battalion was designed to move in, secure the prisoners, and get out. The prisoners were all secured, and with the help of several carrier based AVT-12 Assault Transport Craft's (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10437936&postcount=1207) in conjunction with the LCAC's they were quickly all but removed from the beachhead back to the Saltcube Class Transport Ships that had just joined the formation to the rear.

Then, the skys opened with the enemy artillery. The Marines were still stuck on the beach, but the prisoners had been evacuated before the attack so the Marines only had to focus on surviving. 27 more Marines were killed on the beachhead in the opening rounds. However, because of the terrible conditions and the small number of Marines on a large beach, the artillery became less and less useful as more Marines were evacuated from the beaches on more AVT-12 from the carrier. Another major point was the Localized Air Defense System (LADS) that had been set up to defend the operation against the destroyers (before they ditched themselves). It was easily set up to defend against artillery, and did just that, even though it was on a low scale that wasn't very effective.

While the small batallion of Marines prepared to stay on the beach just long enough to be evacuated the artillery base still posed a major threat. But the IMN wasn't about to allow a few artillery guns to stop a major amphibious operation.

The twelve Avisron Class Destroyers that had been ordered to support the fleet after the Leafanistani fleet defected were no on station, and they prepared to prove their worth. The 8 12" Railguns they were all equipped with had a much longer range than the land based systems. They fired howitzer style, and looked to level the artillery base that had somehow slipped their intelligence net. They all opened up firing HE shells, then three of the destroyers switched to fuel-air shells to create more confusion inside the base.

The place was a hub of activity, men scrambled all around to get machines moving and get ships detached from the ice. The coup was only 4 days old (fluid time guys) and they were still trying to make sense of it all. Foreign troops were reinforcing almost immediately so incoming foreign fighters weren't too much of a surprise.

The private airfield was cleared and the control tower signalled for them to land. On the ground was Cincinnati Jones, covert leaders of Division 39 and the Red Mafia. He personally wanted to meet these men.

The heavy snow confused their targetting and shells scattered, a few slammed into the city killing dozens as the Army scrambeled to remove the civilians. The Colonel sent a report about the propaganda value of this and got some HQ-16s onto the ground. Their 25mm guns opened up and tried to shred the shells coming in. As they were rather far inland the shells slowed quite a bit, but that also meant that their artillery was just as inaccurate.

The Colonel ordered his Arctic Infantry in; 20,000 Elite Army units on snow mobiles and cold optimized armoured vehicles moved toward the beachhead. The plan was to help push the invaders off the land and to also help spot targets for the missile battery which laid inert until they could get an accurate target.

He also ordered their aircraft in, the low flying MI-24 Hind-Es and Ka-52 Alligators, colloquailly called "Croc's 'n Gators" were fueling up on the pad when the Colonel realized the uselessness of these aircraft in a blinding Leafanistani snowstorm. He would lose at least 5% to crashes and emergency landings alone. His Division would do. He also ordered the People's Guard divisions to hurry up and mobilize faster. He needed to defend the mainland.

As time passed almost all the Marines were quickly evacuated before any troops could make it to the beach. The transport ships all moved away from the shoreline and allowed the destroyers and frigates to move between them and the shore, although almost all the ships were far out at sea, they would move in and out to take shots from time to time.

The Destroyers picked troop formations and targets inland to begin shelling. As they did that the Frigates took up positions up and down the coastline to hunt for enemy missile positions or artillery and take them out.

"Sir, taking this beach is going to be much harder than suspected. We need to offload our troops, but they can wait. We're removing the prisoners and injured Marines, but we need support."

Admiral Xan hated talking to his superiors.

"Really, we're getting a Super Dreadnaught down here? And supporting Dreadnaughts? That's GREAT? How fast will they be here? Oh, ok, we'll get them ready."

-

A Zealous Class Super Dreadnaught leaves Libertad. This marks the first time a Super Dreadnaught in McKagan is deployed for combat operations. It's one of the newest, just loaded out and combat tested for an actual missions. It's supporting fleet consists of 3 Sartonia Class Battleships and 8 Avisron Class Destroyers. They'll be in the theatre within 3 weeks; in the meantime the McKagan Task Force will play a game of hit-and-run with the Leafanistani Division that's guarding against the amphibious operation.

Also, with the fact now in the open that Leafanistan would be a heavily contested area, another carrier battlegroup leaves to be put in formation off the coast (way off the coast, out of missile range.) With a ground war and amphibious operating luming, 100,000 Marines are put on "hot standby" in Libertad. The minute it is determined that the coastal defenses are falling they'll board ships and head for the beaches.

The Capitol Police Legionaires were going to work on the town, people were dragged out into the snow by their hair, as Troopers overturned tables and chairs...

Black Jackboots struck doors down, splinters kicking up into the air as the troopers quickly followed up and stormed into the building, Families were asleep in their beds as troopers violently dragged them from their beds...

It was quick and efficient, as people still in their bed clothes were lined up in the snow... Red glowing eyes peirced the dark snow with unholy fury as every person was forced to stand in the snow, their bodies shivering against the cold

From the Vtol that was parked on the hill a Reichmarshal exited the vehicle, his long black trench coat lifting up as he strode down into the town...

The Mayor was dragged before the line of people, as the Reichmarshal strode up towards him, his heavy winter weather Trenchcoat protecting him from the winds and the snow...

15 people were assembled in the town, while the rest were sent up to a waiting Vtol Transport, to take them away from here...

"Here are 15 of your Citizens... You will choose 7 of them and I will kill them..." The Reichmarshal spoke to the Mayor, while pointing at the Line of Men, Women and Children....

Cincinnati Jones put out his cigarette and walked up to the men.

"No, I usually send goons to do that, I tend not to sell contraband to Velkyan pilots myself. But its good to be hands on sometimes. I'm Cincinnati Jones, I run this little outfit and I'm the guy who thought this whole thing up. Come inside with me, its fucking cold out here."

Jones gestured toward a warehouse and began to walk toward it.

"Good call." Markov responded. The rest of the pilots walked with Markov and Jones, entering the warehouse.

"Here are 15 of your Citizens... You will choose 7 of them and I will kill them..." The Reichmarshal spoke to the Mayor, while pointing at the Line of Men, Women and Children....

The Mayor, confused and tired, mumbled something in Mandarin and asked someone else to tell him what the man said. His eyes widened and he started to tear. A few men stood up and so did a few women. The Mayor looked at the Reichmarshal and gave up. He pointed to those who stood.

"Good call." Markov responded. The rest of the pilots walked with Markov and Jones, entering the warehouse.

Jones walked out of the cold and opened the door. A mafia thug holding an AK-109 looked for a second and turned back to his television. The warehouse was a lot larger than it gave off and it appeared that it was partially underground. Jones walked over to a light switch and turned on the lights. Immediately the massive floodlights came on. When their eyes adjusted they would have been greeted by 7 Chengdu J-10 Multirole Fighters and a few mafia pilots with a hasty Skull and Sickle armband and outdated Russian helments. Jones lit another cigarette and said: "These are a few of my best boys, most are from our Helicopter delivery corps, though a few used to fly T-85 Transports for the Leafanistani Army. Its your job to get them up to speed. The snowstorm clears in 2 days because we are on a plateau, the rest of the area though will still be mired up in it. During this time, train these boys to go with you, don't worry, the war is elsewhere, the Navy is too busy dealing with Xiao's men in the South, and the Confederate Guard is too busy trying to save High Father.

Jones took a deep breath, and turned back toward the Velkyan pilots. He smiled and walked over to a breifcase next to the thug by the door. He brought it over, set it down on a crate and opened it up. Inside were Algeristani identity papers and various other cards, (driver's license, gun license, aircraft license, Type-9 weapons system license, and a few credit cards). Jones took them out and handed them to the pilots. From now on you are: "Alexi Solka", "Shaun Davis", "Zack Anderson", and "Daniel Tuhmen". The racial mixing common in Leafanistan will ensure no one really questions your names, and as for your stature relative to others. Algeristan is just beginning to implement the standard Gene-mods for the children and you are already of rather large builds so no one will question that.

Jones took another deep drag of the cigarette, and gestured toward the thug. The thug smashed open a crate with his bare hands and brought over civilian clothing.

Jones: "Those flightsuits scream Velkyan, you'll be wearing these civilian clothes and those flightsuits when you are on board. If you lose those expensive planes outside, we have more planes, whatever you want, we can get. I've gotten you a safehouse a couple miles south of here. A car is waiting for you outside. Also, I don't have long here so..."

Jones fumbled with his trench coat and smiled. He removed a suitcase.

"These are Walther P5 pistols, small and compact, with 9mm Parabellum rounds. I know they aren't high tech but they are basic protection. The safehouse has a few FMK-3s and Type 81 ARs too. There will be 3 of my goons sleeping downstairs and one outside each of your room's doors. They will be armed with M3 Grease Guns chambered for the 9mm. So if it all goes to shit, you all have compatable ammo and well, those guys are expendable. I hope you enjoy your stay in beautiful Port Zedison, Leafanistan during our wonderful Civil War, I have to run. A bit of an arms deal with a People's Guard member and I'm running late. Sleep well!"

Jones threw his cigarette butt onto the floor, stamped it out and ran outside to a waiting car.

Alexi watched Jones run out. He turned to his buddies.

"Colorful fellow, huh?"

Zack looked up from his ID. "Where in God's name is Algeristan?"

Shaun, fingering the pistol he had been given, replied, "Some hellhole the SWC invaded and conquered." Daniel then motioned towards the Mafia pilots "What about them?", he asked. Markov, or, more accuratly, Solka, replied by walking forward. "We'll whip them up. Time to play captain." he said with a smirk.

He then spoke in a loud clear, voice to the various pilots sitting around.

"Welcome, men. I am 1st Lt. Solka, formally of the Velkyan Air Force. I have been appointed as your instructor until you can learn to fly these birds (motioning to the seven fighters) in combat. First things first. Line up, facing me."

(Sorry for the godmod Leafy)

The recruits lined up, and faced Alexi. The rest of the Velkyans had sat back, leaning on an old table. "Starting with you (pointing to the left most pilot), tell me your names and what experience you have flying. Go towards my right."

OOC: For a little thing like this it isn't necessary to say its a godmod, its for story flow.

The first pilot piped up, "I am Lt. Perez, callsign Dragon, formerly of the Army, I used to fly MI-24 Hind-Es, and Ka-52 Alligators. I was partially trained in the T-85 Transport Plane before I crashed it. I also fly small planes for fun, I'm looking to earn a bit of cash and get some thrills, which is what got me kicked out in the first place."

The second pilot, "Just call me Jackson, I run helicopters and tested out these babies on an iceberg a few weeks ago, callsign Pink.

The third pilot, "I was a Catholic immigrant escaping persecution in one of the various nations around here, I am Ethan, I used to fly commercial airliners, callsign Deadeye."

The fourth pilot, "I am retired Major Max Mosly, I flew in the Air Force before I was discharged for brawling. Callsign 3M."

The fifth pilot, "I am James Song, I fly UH-60s and Crocs for the Army. I spent some time on the simulator for Transport planes before I was discharged for disobeying direct orders in the Saharistan Campaign, I blew up a mosque. The goddamn soldiers were in there but intel didn't say shit about it. They were shooting at me dammit. Callsign Delta."

The sixth pilot, "Angela Burlington, I fly commercial airliners and auxillary transport planes for the Army. I got that job after leaving the UAV corps in the Navy. And before you hit on me, I only like girls. Callsign Orange."

The seventh and final pilot, "I am Ping Chang, I used to fly for the Army on A-10s, then some guy up high fucked up our orders and we were sent straight into a bunch of TELARs. Lost my entire fucking wing, 'cept me, I bailed out just in time. Spent 3 days in the desert before getting to a convoy. Callsign Siagon."

The McKagan Fleet was growing. The escorts who came with the transport ships to get the POW's back to a prison camp in Libertad stayed, even though they were just frigates.

The main goal at this time was the army artillery base on the coast. The main asset the McKagan vessels had on it was that in the terrible conditions the artillery base could still be located by reverse tracking the course of the artillery. It wouldn't give them a single gun or even a very close area but against a full scale bombardment it would give the gunners a very good chance of doing some damage.

In the terrible weather a large battleship (one still designed for stealth, at that) could slip towards the coast. That's exactly what one of the Sartonia Class Battleships did, too.

As it got within range of the base it opened up with its guns, still moving parallel to the coast so to prevent a retaliatory strike from being terribly effective. The first rounds were canisters containing leaflets set to airburst. They were set to overshoot the base and fall in the surrounding towns and villages. They told the people to leave the coastline in a very simple, exact style.

Then, just a few moments later, the Sartonia's 16 20" ETC Cannons and 8 12" Railguns opened up on the military positions with what was planned to be an assault that would last as long as the vessel had ammunition: at which point it would rotate off the line and be replaced.

"Alright, I'll indroduce my crew up here. You already know my name. My callsign is Phoniex." His three comrades got off the table. Shaun spoke up first.

"My name is Shaun Davis, I, like my comrades here, were thrown in prison for firing on alleged Kraven civilians during Operation Firestorm before our good friend C.J. bailed us out. I fly an ISF-9, callsign, Squire."

Zack, looking up, brushing his bangs from his face. "I'm Mr. Anderson, I, like Angela, like the ladies. My callsign is Hawk and I flew an ISF-4 before being evicted from my squadron."

Lastly, Daniel spoke up. "The name's Danny, callsign Zorro. I flew a AF-17 during the Kraven War."

Alexi then spoke again, walking over to one of the J-10s. "Have any of you flown this plane yet?"

The leaflet shells exploded in the air, and just like everything else in a snowstorm, blew away. It went unnoticed by a civilan population which was being told to hold the town to the last man, woman and child.

Again the shells flew off course and slammed into the city, but McKagan trackers did their calculus and soon enough shells slammed into the 175mm stationary battery. The mobile platforms were moving around as per the Colonel's orders to prevent backtracking like this but more than a few were lost. The Colonel was pissed off, he couldn't hit that ship directly in this storm unless....

The roar of land based mobile CIWSs continued as the Colonel poured over his inventory for the base. He found it, the HWPTs, and joy!; the default colour for them was white.

He ordered the Isuzus HWPTs loaded with an ASWS out toward the coastal roads along with a few sedans. Their white paint made them hard to see in the snow and the default color for Leafanistani missiles was white.....

18 HWPTs entered the coastal roads at various points. Camoflagued Flat Face RADARs began to track shells and backtrack the McKagan ship. The HWPTs waited to get a target lock. A light buzz, that was it!

36 Exocet missiles flew out of the HWPTs as they retreated inland.

Scouts all along the beach were giving in coordinates for land strikes. The Colonel wanted every last square metre of that beach presighted for a mortar and artillery attack. And his divisions which were spread out over town fared rather well in the attack.

All 175mm Stationary Guns are lost, not savalagble.
20 155mm Mobile Guns are destroyed
3 out of 5 240mm Guns are destroyed, 1 in somewhat good condition.
165 Soldiers are dead
12 Civilians are dead

The McKagan Battleship's targeting systems were distorted. They detected the launch of the exocets at the same time they would have in good conditions, but soon lost contact with them for a short moment before picking them back up again. However, the vast snowstorm had the same effect on the missiles. Not only that, but the wind would cause many, many problems once they got near the massive battleship. It's not as if an Exocet missile (an old, inferior U.S. design) would have a major impact against a massive McKagan battleship even if they DID hit, but it was still a blessing that ASI had built such a long range CIWS that it could engage a majority of the missiles. Special tracking enabled the ship to choose which missiles were going to miss on their own, not wasting valuable ammunition from the DREAD guns on bad missiles.

In the end only 8 missiles got through. They impacted the battleship in the side and front armor, causing little to no important damage. Several got penetration, but only one of those missiles actually exploded. The ship would burn for a short while, destroying a several crew barracks, but in the end not doing anything that would destroy the ship or end its ability to fight.

Meanwhile, high overhead a SST Satellite moved closer. It began to take a detailed thermal readout of the coastline. Telling artillery pieces apart from houses or other "warm" things was easy. Houses didn't move and line up on the coast, then retreat and move again. They also didn't have long guns sticking from them that easily showed up on thermal vision. Another thing that would allow this satellite easy coverage was that the snowstorm had made almost EVERYTHING else COLD. Very cold, so cold that the thermal readings were alot more precise than usual.

Upon the time the quick readings were taken, 4 Avisron Class Destroyers moved towards the coastline. They opened up with their 8 12" Railguns. They fired high yeild burst rounds that would spread tungsten balls over a vast area, "peppering" anything below. It was only a matter of time until the big guns arrived on station, too...

OOC: Technically the Exocet is a French missile. Technically calling my missiles is godmoding.

The Colonel was having a lot of trouble now, his artillery guns were mostly gone, the stationary emplacements were entirely destroyed. With the new bombardment he knew he couldn't hold out much longer. He ordered his troops to finish evacuating the base and move into town. He knew the town was the only option for the invading troops, the only servicable road that lead to major throughfare ran through it.

The Leafanistani troops would be well prepared, their cold-optimized tanks and vehicles operated fine in the 40 below range. And then they waited.

The IMN had fired its warning leaflets into the town. As far as they were concerned the civilians had been given fair warning. Sadly, the command staff didn't know that the leaflets had never reached the ground and thus had no idea that firing into the town would cause massive casulties. In a tactical sense it wasn't a very big problem: The civilians would probably fight anyway. In a political sense McKagan had did all they would be expected to and wouldn't take any hostile fire over it.

Moving the target of their guns the destroyers and battleship aimed the full force of their naval artillery at the town. They expected (and it was shown in the logs) that the town was occupied only by soldiers. They opened fire, looking to destroy anything that could even begin to put up a fight. Soon enough the town would be leveled and the Marines would be on their way to aid the High Fathers troops in defending Concord.

The shells struck the town destroying house after house, crushing apartment buildings and smashing enemy concentrations. The Colonel ordered his men to retreat out of range of Naval Artillery inland along the Autobahn and set up camp in the nearby hill. And he then ordered a counterattack.

As the Nimitz overheated, the water began to boil and soon enough a heat fog began to rise around the McKagan fleet, the area all around was shrouded in it, the fog thick and heavy, slightly radioactive, made for confusing thermal signatures especially for the Army Airship Corps. They were large Kirov-class Airships and they were equipped with Aegis-class Airships. They emitted little heat and they floated silently into the fog about 45 km south of the McKagan Fleet. The Aegis-class was meant as a diversion for the airships as they were barely armoured but emitted a heat signature about as big as the Kirov. They were equipped with an automated CIWS with twice the rounds as normal. Giant self-defending decoys.

Included were the Harpoon-class Airships which were fully automated weapons platforms. They were going to be fitted to tender corvettes for the Navy before they defected. They had a CIWS but no crew compartment. They were just massive missile ships. No armour, but missiles strapped everywhere.

They were on drift using only micropulses to move, trying to keep their thermal signature down. The Colonel made a call via a secure line.

"Kirov reporting."
"In range?"
"Just about, engage?"
"Jawohl."

As they got within RADAR range they turned on their props to full. They disengaged the Aegis and had them move forward. The Kirovs let loose their fire, Red Tidean-made heavy anti-shipping missiles and Leafanistani built Moskits Mod 7. The Moskits Mod 7 moved faster than the Red Tidean made missiles and had a slightly smaller warhead meant mostly for water-line penetration of the ships hull. The Red Tidean Missiles were meant to strike at any part of the ship and tear it to shreds. Meanwhile the Harpoons carried the Moskits Mod 7 and fired, but a few were hastily armed and only had Exocets though those were limited and would arrive last at the enemy fleet.

60 Aegises Deployed faking signatures for another 60 Kirovs
20 Harpoons Deployed

509 Moskit Mod 7s have been fired (300kg HE warhead, Mach 2)
100 Red Tidean missiles fired (~500kg warhead, Mach 1.5)
42 Exocets

The Moskits targetted the large ships with 125 missiles alone locked onto the large McKagan ground pounder. 75 of the Red Tidean missiles were aimed for the massive superdreadnaught while the remainder targetted the other large ships. The remaining Moskits and Exocets targetted the smaller ships.

The Kirovs began retreating with the Aegises and the Harpoons continued to move toward the enemy fleet to engage the ground pounding destroyers with their autoloading 240mm guns. It would be a finishing punch to take out those ships as they would arrive 10 minutes after the first missile hit. The other airships would move toward land and deflate, disassemble and be transported via truck and rail elsewhere. (20km until land, 2 hours before full departure)

After the first confirmed missile hit the storm would be near cleared and the army would move in with Ka-52s to finish off the job. That is if the mission suceeded and the enemy destroyers pounding the ground were damaged.

80 Ka-52s on standby.

"Alright." Alexi checked the clock. It was 10:32 PM.

"It's getting late, and a weather report we overheard coming in says the storm will pass by 5 AM tommorow. I want you all to get to bed and be ready to go by 6 AM tommorow. Dismissed."

The mercenaries all snapped a quick salute and broke up and a few went for their cars and left and others stayed and talked with each other.

Angela walked up to the pilots and said, "Boss said they'll be a car. For you that morning, we'll all meet at the airfield not at the warehouse." She gave a professional smile and walked out.

In a small corner of the town a small plant pulsated quietly. His exterminated guardian was too dead to give it his inhibitant today. And it started to grow another limb. The other limb coughed a few time and emitted a loud burp followed by a large very visible green flame. The plant then went to work belching out a green toxic vapour cloud that would only last around itself as protection.

Soon it began firing crystals out of its pores, coating the ground with them. The area around Xi'an was a major mineral area and Xi'an was planned to be a a major oil hub soon. But that was no more thanks to the evil that haunted the town now. Now the plant went to work, puffing out more crystals. Soon the crystals erupted from the earth, sharp and jagged they were an beautiful green. They were slightly radioactive but shone in the limited sun. Inside were gold flecks and the plant began to spew a toxic pond around itself. The crystals were rich ore and the toxic pond was filled with heavy crude. The plant was a Tiberium plant, the crystals were green Tiberium, rich in elements but poor in metals, but even more dangerous was its high concentration of isotopes, the pond that surrounded the plant was Tiberium 'muck', toxic as it was filled with long hydrocarbon chains, and extremely flammable, and the gas was Tiberium gas, mutagenic and carcinogenic.

These troopers had unexpectedly triggered the resurgence of Tiberium in Leafanistan.

The Land was now littered with these green cyrstals, and now the toxi pond of thick crude floated around the base of the plant...

The Reichmarshal looked at these cyrstals with a curious eyes...

"This is interesting.."

"You, Capitol Police Man, take your squad and search the town, for whatever this came from, I want to know more about this, Look for documents, Anything that might point us to something..."

The Troopers moved off towards the location of the gas explosion, while searching at the same time for any clues or documents..

The Reichmarshal however, picked up his Radio Transmitter...

"This is Harvester Battalion 2, Unidentified materials, Requesting Harvester PAT-9"

"Understood... ETA 36 Hours"

The Reichmarshal turned heading back into the building that was the Mayors House...

Nearby wolves began to howl along with the town's now feral dogs. They succumbed to the gas and fell to the ground seemingly lifeless. Unknown to any people who discovered these poor wretched animals hidden in their dens are dead in the streets, they were being changed drastically by the Tiberium gas.

The plant in a sense, sensed the incoming troopers which happened upon it, and it pumped out more gas to no avail. It gave off an emotion of anger and fear though the troopers wouldn't know it. One of its limbs turned toward a trooper and sprayed the highly corrosive Tiberium muck onto the trooper in an attempt to defend itself.

Underneath the soil the muck seeped into the permafrost and it kept sinking, toward the groundwater and toward the worms that inhabited the soil.

As the Reichmarshall entered the mayor's home he found documents in Mandarin that looked very important. A english translation lay next it to. It was called "Tiberium Plant Control Protocols".

As per Parliamentary Order 313 the Tiberium problem has become an epidemic. However the recent discovery of a inhibitant to their growth has been given to us by classified elements.

The inhibitant prevents the 'plant' (Tiberium Riparius or Blossom Trees) from performing their ferrous-based metabolism and and preventing them from synthesizing the enzymes and prions they need to disrupt carbon chains. It is the only effective measure we have against Tiberium-based life forms and it has shown to be 100% successful and we are assured that a mutation that requires a new inhibitant is impossible or at least highly improbable because it requires an entirley new form of metabolism and enzyme structure.

The crystals that the trees eject are Tiberium Riparius (Green variety) and are low in metal and other heavy metal deposits. They are considered an immature variety. The crystals makeup depends heavily on the soil density, pH and mineral concentration. The average Riparius crystal will grow to be 1-2 metres tall and is highly barbed. Touching it will result in severe lacerations and Tiberium poisoning.

Another larger variety is Tiberium Vinifera which consists of blue crystals which leech the ground's minerals at a much higher rate. The average Vinifera crystal can grow to up to 10 metres in height. They are extremely dangerous as their molecular bonds are highly unstable and these are prone to powerful explosions. However, they spread slowly and take years to build up in significant amounts.

Tiberium Cruentus is believed to have descended from a fern-like creature and functions similar to Tiberium Riparius plants. They also grow slower and emit crystals slower.

It is believed another more dangerous variety of Tiberium is forming around volcanic areas and near uranium deposists. It is being tenetively called Tiberium Cinnibarius.

Tiberium Muck only appears when Tiberium plants come into contact with oil deposits. An odd phenomenon called Tiberium Burps are when they contact natural gas deposits and ignite them as a form of disposal. Some of the crude is broken down into polymers and some into diesel grade fuel. Tiberium muck is useful to harvest but highly corrosive.

Crystal

* Phosphorus: 42.5%
* Iron: 32.5%
* Calcium: 15.25%
* Copper: 5.75%
* Silica: 2.5%
* Unknown/Variable: 1.5%

Harmful Gases

* Methane: 22%
* Sulfur: 19%
* Naphthalene: 12%
* Argon: 10%
* Isobutane: 6%
* Xylene: 2%
* Unknown/Variable: 29%

Tiberium Muck

* Naphthalene: 13%
* Polypropylene: 34%
* Heavy crude: 12%
* Diesel grade fuel: 9%
* Sulfuric Acid: 14%
* Nitric Acid: 4%
* Unknown/Variable: 14%

The inhibitant is to be applied once a day around the plant. At least 2 litres must be used around the plant. Remember to be wearing FULL NBC protection while doing this. If the crystals spread contact the local defence forces and the crystals will be harvested and the ground will be coated in inhibitant. If the plant spreads it can only be killed with repeated electrocution and inhibitant. The plant is to be covered in steel wool and electrified with Tesla coils until it is rotten and dead. Then it is to be burned and isolated in a concrete storage area. If muck is discovered collect them in drums and ship to the military storage facilities.

The inhibitant will be shipped in 10 kilolitre amounts and refills can be ordered free at any moment. DO NOT MISS A SINGLE DAYS TREATMENT.

After that there were scrawled notes in Mandarin listing a name for the person in charge of it.

A few dozen metres from where the townspeople were shot a large tank marked in Chinese/Russian/English as 'Inhibitant (TOXIC)' leaked heavily onto the frozen earth evaporating quickly.

Of the five McKagan ships being attacked (the only ones within range), three of the destroyers were destroyed. The battleship took slight damage in the opening moments of the battle before getting its CIWS active and protecting the rest of the fleet. The other destroyer was facing in an odd direction, making it a smaller target, and thus a harder one to hit. It make a quick pass and brought the survivors (which there were alot of) aboard.

"Sir, we've got SOMETHING going on. Our fleet just clicked offline. Yup, something is in that goddamned fog. Should we re'route a few corvettes and the airwing?"

The Admiral didn't like his ships being destroyed. It pissed him off. Someone was going to die.

Quickly, two of the carriers emptied their aircraft into the sky. The 160 GLI-76 Falcon's rocketed off. They took wide, flanking paths towards the cloud. This meant that individual targets would be more difficult to find, and their first few passes would be nearly impossible to stop, coming in just above the waves and at lightning quick speed.

Backtracking the origin of the missiles was simple, and the airfleet had been discovered. The McKagan attack flight targeted these with long range missiles, firing at nearly an impossible range to be expected. They'd come in and pepper the air with machine gun fire, and then see what came out of it.

As this happened the fleet rerouted 8 Kurora Class Corvettes into the fog. They soon realized what they were under and begain to move in extremly fast motions and turns will at the same time firing Praetorian missiles into the air along with 70mm AAA.

The McKagan attack flight targeted these with long range missiles, firing at nearly an impossible range to be expected. As this happened the fleet rerouted 8 Kurora Class Corvettes into the fog. They soon realized what they were under and begain to move in extremly fast motions and turns will at the same time firing Praetorian missiles into the air along with 70mm AAA.

The Corvettes quickly came under fire from dual 155mm guns from the unmanned Harpoons. Plumes of water shot up from their crosscrossing fire. The Harpoons were the last airships to leave and they had no AA armament besides their 2 25mm CIWS guns which rapidly targeted the missiles and the aircraft that flew inbetween them.

The Aegises on the other hand with just 1 25mm CIWS gun filled the air with shells with nary a meter between their line. Soon the Aegises fired their complement of 2 AA missiles, at this close range they were guarenteed a lock on enemy aircraft and begin chasing them. The airships were pinned in the clouds and began taking losses. While the skins were rather thick enough to defend against the small rounds from the Falcons the 70mm AA did a number on the airships in the fog. They lacked the anti-shipping missiles for a killpunch.

2 Kirovs took hits and their crews began bailing out, 30 people began decending via parachute. Another was had taken a blow that penetrated its armour and set it ablaze. However, a hydrogen-oxygen fire burned transparent, it made an eerie fire as parts just seemed to disappear and explosions rocked the turboprops. The Kirovs cleared their AA armament and the remaining aloft ones were using their top mounted CIWS and 88mm guns to try to take down the Falcons while dodging the Corvette fire. All the blimps began to gain altitute to escape the range of the 70mms.

14 Aegises went down as was their duty, to defend the other airships.

All but 5 of the unmanned Harpoons were sinking into the sea trying desperately to fire and fulfill their mission programming.

On shore the Army trucks that were waiting to pick up the airships the spotted spectacle and decided to join into the fray. They brought up their HQ-16s and opened fire into the fog hoping to down the Falcons that swarmed around it. Type 95 AA and towed Type 90 guns opened fire with more missiles and RADAR guided rounds. They tried to fire ahead of the Falcons, hoping their highspeed would force them to fly into the iron curtain put up by the combined power of the ground based and Aegis CIWS. However, they downed yet another Kirov in the process killing several of its crew. Only 9 parachutes descened from that one.

The Leafanistani's had fallen into the McKagan trap. It was a given that firing at a close range would mean great missile locks, but it also meant less time for error with the missiles. 23 total of the fighters dropped, but the rest of the missiles went streaming off away from the battle. By firing missiles at such a close arc, the ones that missed traveled for a short time in a direction completely opposite of the Falcons. By the time they turned around they were well low on fuel and thus ineffective.

The AAA fire against the Falcons was equally ineffective because of the sheer fact that the majority of the Falcons remained at nearly sea level. A few of the casulties were caused by this, but only because they were pinned by falling debris and unable to change directions to get out of the way.

The Corvettes did exactly as their job entailed. The put tons of fire into the sky and were still agile enough to stop any GREAT damage from coming to most of them. However, as the battle went on and the crossing paths became more complicated 3 of the Corvettes ended up taking 155mm shells that slowed them down a bit. They were still mobile and a bit combat worthy, but not a major player anymore.

At last, the IMN (who was shocked by an airforce appearing like this) had finally determined their origins. Satellite recon on the shoreline showed trucks. Civilians didn't go to the beach during an amphibious operation, and thus, the two remaining vessels within range fired with nearly everything they had at the truck formations.

While the battle looked to be wrapping up the prospect of airmen in the waters was very high. Parachutes had been reported, and several had landed near the Corvettes. A lone Illusion Class Frigate departs the main fleet and heads towards the radioactive fog cloud and its surrounding area. The exposure at this time wouldn't be terribly bad for the people in the water (most of them) and the McKagan personnel were equipped for this sort of operation, so all would work.

On the decks of the Frigate several DART Team Members armed with Hali-42 rifles and in NBC suits prepare to bring POW's aboard. They will then be decontaminated and placed in captivity below the decks. A simple operation, it appeared.

The trucks and equipment exploded as they struggled to change their fire. It was ineffective and they broke up. The nearby train wasn't hit yet, but a few close calls scared the conductor. The train sped off and quickly accelerated to 200km/h and left. The remaining trucks ran off into the deep snow. They headed for the destroyed base. They had beaten back the AA support.

Meanwhile over the sea the Kirovs had been abandoned and they either sank to the sea burning slowly or in small chunks. The airship strike had been beaten back.

The Army now went into the Tunnel system and headed out of the town to try to cut off the Red Tidean and Confederate Guard reinforcements coming into Berkut.

The destroyed artillery base was still a ripe target for the naval artillery, which was looking to revenge the deaths of the people off their supporting destroyer. They pounded the base for a few moments before falling away from the shore and being replaced by 6 Avisron Class Destroyers.

With IMAF Weather Satellites showing a break in the storm coming, now was the best time to land. The Marines would punch ashore with heavy tanks and an AA Division and set up before the threat from above was real.

That's exactly what they did, as well. After pounding the coastlines for any mines or the like the transports all lined up with their rears facing the coastline. LSAS's came out of amphibious bays, LTAC's put tanks and APC's ashore. Within a few hours the entier Marine force would be ashore.

The first ones in simple set up fuel depots and roadways, securing flanks and setting up scouting positions. Before evening a quarter of the force had landed a forward self propelled artillery batallion had set up position just inland and begun to pound at the enemy position that had retreated from the coastline.

The artillery force of the MIMC Task Force was actually much larger, but only 40 of the 155mm guns made it to the firing line by the time the order to lay cluster munitions down on the surviving enemy forces was reached.
