Mationbuds Helps Commonalitarianism Build Space Ship

With the help of Mationbuds we are building our first manned space rocket. They have agreed to sell us an old unarmed fusion ICBM and we are converting it into a manned rocket.

Says Dr. Cran Ming, we have the technology to build a manned rocket. We will use the combination of our knowledge of deep sea life support and high pressure submarines to build a capsule to attach to the rocket.
We recently launched several satellites into space. Reentry technology will not be a problem.

We have had to ask Mationbuds how to improve our heat shields and improve the conditions during liftoff so that the astronauts will not be injured. We have a basic program to run the telemetry now with the help of Mondoth so we can program a flight and return course. The aerodynamics should not be a problem. The rocket is powerful enough to resist any weather problems.

International Undersea Salvage Cooperative managed to find the remains of a russian space capsule. We have the design for an airlock and an intact space suit. We have copied the design so we now have two suits.

Mationbuds has checked our design, it should work hopefully. If not we have the schematics for the rocket, and will try to build a second rocket.

We have heard rumors that the Commonalitarianism is retooling its industries. There has been a massive influx of orders for transport submarines. The factories are humming. Also ten new automotive dealerships are opening in Reloria.

There have been rumors that Cruon Commercial House has been rebuilding its machinery along with Dynamic Motors, PPC. We have here an example of some of the new tools coming out. Picture of diamond edged saw, diamond headed drill bits, and various high power industrial electric tools. Hundreds of tons of new machinery is coming in to replace the older machinery.

There has been a rumor that a successful test was done on bubble fusion or sonofusion. We have proved that it may exist, now we have to figure out what to do with it says Professor Bubbly. Unfortunately no more information is available as our interview was cut short by the arrival of the Citizens Special Committee on Technology.

With the help of Mationbuds we have secured our energy future. Their scientists have explained how the process of fusion works and how to build a large industrial fusion plant. We applied that to our own recent research on Bubble Fusion-- sometimes called tabletop fusion, or sonofusion.

This has allowed us to make a major new breakthrough in fusion technology. We have been working on this for quite some time. We will be able to build a sonofusion power plant. There are a number of advantages to sonofusion as a potential power source. First our power plant will be much smaller and cheaper than a large scale fusion power plant. We can cause fusion reactions to occur on a kitchen table top. Second, it can be powered by extracting deuterium from seawater leaving us with a near inexhaustible power supply. Third it is much cleaner than regular fusion. The half life of radioactive material from sonofusion is 10-20 years. We will be able to power Liberty Arcology almost indefinitely when this plant comes on line.

We are planning on building a high security steel reinforced concrete lead lined storage facility on a small barren uninhabited island in the Paxarific ocean for the waste.

There are other applications to this technology, but this is a major leap forward for our sciences. Ming Commercial House, RFS-- Registered Financial Syndicate is developing new scanning equipment for our ports with this technology. We should soon have superior bomb detection equipment.

Second News Flash.

There are rumors that the Commonalitarianism is planning to launch inflatable habitat modules using its satellite launch system. They may be able to buy them off the shelf.

We are considering buying brand new off the shelf self inflating habitat modules for a space station. We have to test if small modules with up to 1000 kilogram weight will fit in our satellite rail gun system. It may take some doing. We are not sure how we could control them once they were released from the capsule. We haven't yet figured out the price for these things. If we do buy them, we would rent space for scientific research.

The Space Race has begun.

During the last week several new satellites were launched into orbit from the electromagnetic railgun launcher at Liberty Arcology.

We can rejoice we have ten satellites orbiting the globe now. These are for communications, imaging, antipiracy, and many other beneficial applications.

New Form of Public Transportation Initiated.

The Commonalitarianism has built several elevated rolling walkways to accomodate more efficient foot traffic. These walkways run at approximately 10 MPH continuously and help speed pedestrian traffic.


Research: A new marine science center and aquarium has been built in Beauty Arcology.

Commonalitarianism Builds Space Station.

A large rocket launched yesterday. It is based on the previous design of a converted ICBM except for this time the life support capsule is large enough to hold 6 people.

Something very interesting happened then. The spent fuel tank now in orbit ejected the engine and the casing around the engine. The end sealed off irising closed. Then inside a long tubular module inflated inside the fuel tank. sections of the outer wall of the hull of the fuel tank ejected revealing docking ports and attitutidinal jets. The previous tank left from the last flight did the same thing. Small jets began to maneuver the tanks close togehther. Then three of the astronauts left the capsule. They had what looked like rocket chairs to guide them. They helped link the front ends of where the landing capsules had been on the now empty tubes forming a larger and smaller two tank system.

Five 1000 KG satellites which had been launched during the last week began approaching the linked modules. Two of them split open inflating into large rubber capsules. These locked into two of the docking ports. The other three packages contained 3000 KG of food and supplies. Four of the astronauts would stay behind and help build the space station, receiving railgun capsule launched payloads. Some of the capsules would include fuel, solar panels, and a wide variety of instrumentation.

The two engines waited for a trip out to the asteroid fields. Eventually they would be made into a modular space ship composed of inflatable hab modules, spent fuel tanks, and interlocking scaffolding. Special components would be sent up as well.

We are accepting experiments for a fee soon as well as astronauts from friendly powers.

Note: This is a much cheaper way to build a space station. Rubber inflatable capsules are being designed now for $200 million-- I am guessing the updated versions I am using would cost $300 million. $100 million for the satellite component plus $200 million for the inflatable component. Railgun launches of supplies are potentially much cheaper than rocket launches. Using spent fuel tanks to build hab modules would be much cheaper-- basically it is a fuel tank around an inflatable module. I am guessing it would be another $1 billion dollars built into the converted ICBM rocket. We are talking about $6 to $10 billion dollars to build a functional space station as compared to $50 billion for a single module in the curent International Space Station. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Commonalitarianism Sends Out Underwater Autonomous Vehicles.

The commonalitarianism has began sending out underwater drones. A picture of small tube that looks like a 8 foot torpedo. These drones will monitor our fisheries and the ocean environment creating a sensor net around our cities. They can track sonar, and have in built in underwater cameras. They are networked through a central processing computer. We have several boats capable of linking in with the drones. These are designed to dive deep so we can check the very bottom of the ocean with these things for wrecks and monitor marine life. They cost about $100,000 apiece to build. We have already sent out 200 of them within a week there should be a net of 1000 of them monitoring our oceans.

We have started an ocean life repopulation project. We are using biotechnology to Reintroduce endangered and extinct marine life. The first species to be repopulated is the is the Galapagos turtle. Unfortunately this has become tied up in red tape.

There has been a massive growth in wind farm and solar technology after a major Blackout in the Commonalitarianism. We are building new wind farms, and solar power plants. We have expanded our underwater energy turbines and are looking at OTEC-- Ocean Thermal Technology.

Politics:
The citizens assembly has started looking at the structure of our government. There has been increasing corruption and there must be reforms to make our political system work better.

Military:
Demonstration of new rifles and grenade launchers. Our rifle has been modified. It is an automatic gas fired rifle with a new barrel. It is a rebuild of the APS Underwater Assault Rifle of which we bought 10,000,000 of from Willink. A new demonstration model of the Freedom Ship Mark 2 has come off the assembly line.

100s Tons of ceramic composite, steel, and titanium are being reclaimed from the ocean. Says the International Underwater Salvage Cooperative. We are locating old and new sunken ships and submarines and sending them to our new recycling yards to reclaim the metals, ceramics, and plastics. We are analyzing some of the materials found, a plastic 10x as strong as steel, titanium alloys, ceramic composites, aluminum composites and other tensile materials.

Automoatic Combat Shotgun for Urban Warfare Introduced.
The Smasher 12 Gauge Automatic Shotgun is manufactured from "corrosion resistant, high impact, heat-treated stainless steels and high-impact plastics". It requires no lubrication (unconfirmed/unverified). Rounds are fed from an 8-round box magazine, 20-round drum mag, or 32-round drum mag. That's a lot of 12-gauge firepower in a fully controllable package. Since the AA-12 shotgun fires at the relatively slow rate of 300 rpm, there's no need for a semi-auto setting on the AA-12's selector switch. Any skilled operator can easily control the round output via trigger control, including singe shots and double taps. In other words, the operator's trigger finger IS the selector switch. The Smahser Auto Assault 12 (AA12) Automatic Shotgun also features a quick-change barrel system. Barrel lengths are from 13" to 18".

Raven Corp has engaged War Breed. We are not sure of the cause of this conflict. Raven Corps has diplomatic relations with us. They are also a major military supplier for us. We support them in their effort to take care of a threat raised against them. They help us defend the Commonalitarianism from the evils of wandering nuclear submarines in our waters. Marianis Oceanic Engineering and Technical School is now at full enrollment. We are teaching a new generation of students how to build on the sea.

Liberty Arcology Military Academy expands from Civil Militia and Navy to include several new departments. Air force, Mechanized Units, Special Infantry Tactics, Computerized Warfare, Psychological Warfare, Psychopharmological Warfare, and Chemical Warfare.

Trenchtown in the Marianis trench doubles in size from 120,000 people to 240,000 people. A new city is being built Deep City. Already we have 50,000 residents and it is expanding fast. Space


Airship lifts ribbon cable for space elevator to the edge of space. An airship lifted almost all the way to the top of the atmosphere carrying two carbon nanotube cables. Tests were done sending up a small elevator package to the airship. This is a precursor test to sending a cable up to the space station.

New cheap reconnaisance airship developed. This airship costs less than any reconnaisance drone. $600,000 for the airship. It is made of a clear plasticine material which will not show up radar and includes a bank of clear solar panels, to extend flight duration. It is practically invisible from the air. 200 lbs of sensors capacity. It is a V shaped craft about 60 meters long With the solar panels it can run for a week before it has to return to ground. Reports say it can go above 120,000 feet.

Police/Military: A new police unit called the Anti-piracy, Port Security and Anti-terrorism unit has been created it will be taking over the light attack vessels and patrol boats from the military, reducing military spending and adding to police costs. Military Crisis: It was discovered that Strategos Zarkov had decided to build a supercraft to fight aliens with. He thought that unidentified flying objects were attempting to abduct Commonalitarianism citizens. He has been taken away to be rehabilitated by the Department of Mental Hygiene. This has cost the government 10 billion dollars $5 billion dollars in defense funds and $5 billion dollars in government waste taking significant funds out of the military.

Conscription Structure: The Commonalitarianism uses both military and non-military conscription. The conscription structure consists of three years.
The first year is intensive military training in the armed forces. Then the conscriptee has a choice, either stay in the military or join one of the semi-military brigades which are often not paid for by the military. The first year is also remedial. Everyone is forced to learn up through high school equivalency.

Hospital Brigade: 1 year intensive hospital training, then 1 year apprenticeship in hospitals. Equivalent to LPN.
Relief Corps: 1 year training, plus 1 year apprenticeship in disaster help and planning. Combines several different services. Fire, Flood, Tidalwave, Volcanos.
Civil Defense: 1 year training, 1 year apprenticeship, civil defense functions. Lightly armed. Preparing for chemical, biological, and nuclear defenes. Handles city defense drills, gas masks, nuclear attack, etc.

Industry: Bioshelter sewage treatment plants start providing extra aquaculture capacity. Improvement in our recycling and sewage treatment have allowed us to farm more fish. Events: A terrible sexual plague has hit our cities. This has forced us to curtail our military budget to deal with this monstrosity. We have had to begin a major campaign to clean up this problem. We have to contain it so it will not expand beyond our borders. 500,000 people have died so far from this disease. Another 1 million people are infected. We have started an awareness campaign and special education measures as well as medical research to end this problem.

We have helped repel an invasion by the Chinese against the International Space Agency moon base. As part of the process our allies have captured a SSTO-- Single Stage to Orbit troop transport vehicle capable of landing 40 troops at a time on the moon. This will allow to make major breakthroughs in space travel.

In a rush program we have completed building an asteroid mining tug. We are sending bags of nickel, iron, platinum, and oxygen from a large asteroid to a catch net at our space station. This has yielded 10,000 tons and counting of minerals so far. We are now metal rich. The ship will be heading to a new asteroid soon. It is designed for long duration space flight, it has a regenerative recycling life support system and a biosphere mini-farm aboard so it will be able to stay out near the asteroids for four months at a time. We are working on improving this so we will be able to travel out to the asteroid fields.

A major breakthrough has occurred. It is possible now to build a Bell Ansible using Bell's theorem of simultaneity and a weird variation of quantum tunneling we will be able to track the pattern of spin of electrons creating a quantum communicator. There were two protests today, one against the Anti-Material Weapons Test, the other by buddhist youth against the genocide of buddhists in Red Tide 2. Industrial: Edison Arcology our new domed arcology has achieved complete oil independence. Using a combination of renewable energy sources, wind, wave, solar, otec, deep sea geothermal, biomass, advanced fuel cells, and lithium ion nanobatteries we have become truly energy independent. With the building of two factories a biorefinery, and an industrial cloning vat facility we no longer need to use oil based products as well. Space Industry: Three huge SSTO rockets are being built using the new sonofusion technology, they are cone shaped like the x-10 and are Sonofusion Thermal Rockets which superheat hydrogen rocket fuel. They will be launching soon to build three asteroid bases from the hollowed out asteroids from our mining tug. Also a second generation mining tug has been built. It is being assembled at the space elevator. We will conquer space.

Ocean: After the VODAIS plague mass migration to the undersea cities has been happening. People are terrified that they will be caught in another surface war. A massive new program has been instituted. We have been clearing the skies of space junk. We currently have 5 small salvage ships, and 1 deep space salvage ship. Most of the junk around the moon and earth have been cleared. This is being used to help build a space colony near the moon. We have received several thousand external tank modules from American privateer as well as a giant solar habitat dome, Axis Nova has sent us thermal heating units, small space scooters, and fuel cells made from reprocessed junk. We are using tailings, old rocks, slag and other materials to coat many of the modules for protection. Our old space station has been boosted and attached to the new colony. It is a massive maze of modules and materials.
The deep space salvage ship has been collecting propulsion test units from ion drives, solar sails, and other ships. It also has been refurbishing and upgrading planetary probes around all of the planets, mars, venus, pluto. This data is being sent back to the station to study the planets.

In Scandinvan we are helping recover treasure from an imperial treasure fleet we have acquired tons of diamonds, rubies, emeralds, jet, gold, and silver. Part of this money was used by the International Underwater Salvage Cooperative to help build the deep space salvage ship. Also our Museum of Recovered Sea Objects should expand considerably with a Scandinvan exhibit of ships and other objects.

Our current Commonarch is finishing her stay in the Tahuanitsu empire fulfilling her obligations as trade minister before she ascends to Commonarch. Very important agreements are being made regarding trade between our two nations. We hope to improve some of our capabilities.
