Kazeci Crisis (Open FT RP, Sign-Up Thread)

ooc: This is a sign-up and ooc thread, all posts are OOC. The plot line goes up and down, its first few major events are predetermined, but everything in-between is totally based upon the characters’ choices.

What you’ll need to know:
Kazeci time is a base ten system, ten hours in a day, ten days in a week, ten weeks in a month, and ten months in a year. Exceptions: 100 minutes in an hour and 100 seconds in a minute (there is a deca minute and deca second which continue the base ten system, but no one uses them). The planet’s orbit works out conveniently perfect for a base ten system.

Absolutely everything built in Kazecistan is government property and built by some division of the government. The government employs 92% of the population. The government is very socialistic; doing what it believes is in the society’s best interest. As such, it has many control mechanisms over the populous. It is also heavily technologically based.

For every character who you RP as living to the end, I ask that you RP at least 7-10 others who die. The infectious agent is highly deadly (over 90% kill rate). They don’t all have to be super developed, but don't make them irrelivent, if you can.

The agent is similar to Ebola Zaire and other Filoviruses. Spreads through fluid and tissue contact as well as aerosolized droplets in the air. More specific information will come out in the RP.

Many characters will have one or two of their names abbreviated to initials or changed completely, this is because much of the writings are done in the form of a future account of the incident when the individuals who die are respected through privacy.

The Awakening is when Kazeci children are awaken from a VR program which they have lived in their entire lives. This occours at the age of ten years, but the child in question has experianced about twenty years of life. The program is designed to mold Kazecis into perfect citizens and educate them at an extream pace. However, the effects can be drastic if one discovers the real world before formal awakening.

My god, Kazecistan. Your nation is strangely... similar to mine; from the large government to the system of timekeeping. I'd play, but the only way I'd have a reason is if I played as the International Aid Cooperative. Too bad you're not allowing large-scale aid. I've been on the lookout for someplace to break out the IAC. It has four members, and we haven't gotten a chance to do anything with it yet. Oh, well. Good luck to you.

P.S. Added your AIM handle to my contacts list.

I'll TG this to you as well, just incase you don't come back to read the thread.

I wouldn't mind small-scale aid (a team of under 40), but it would have to arrive only after the next major event. And you could have any number of characters from your nation within my boarders, they are open to any and all that haven't declared hostile intent. They don't even have to be from your nation.

Great minds think alike in nation management....

*Sighs*

I'd love to join this, but almost the entire military/emergency response/special ops/foreign aid/etc. forces employed by GadgetCorp are robotic, due to their high-efficiency and the fact they don't need to be payed. The only organics are the high-commanding officers who almost never leave their assigned facilities or Headquarters, the rest being completely robotic.

And, since they're all robots...Eh. None too fair.

What if the team was larger, but it was composed of people played by their respective nations of origin? I doubt the IAC would send a few shuttles to deal with a plague affecting a huge city full of people. Of course, we wouldn't generally be doing big, overreaching posts; we'd focus on maybe one team of a dozen or so, or at least one team at a time. Wouldn't even have to find a cure or effective treatment if you didn't want to; they'd just be handing out supplies, helping the government with any quarantines, etcetera.

How would/would a non human, or robotic character fit in as viable?

Gagit Corp: It doesn't need to be a national responce. You could simply have citizens in there vacationing.

Xanthal: It could be a thing where that's all that was close enough, just a few people. You could have a slightly larger group, so long as they either have minor roles or have minor roles and die off. You might also note that the kazecis could normlly handle this on their ownand are very reluctant to announce the problem publicly (they only do so after the second ctastrophy)

No cures or treatments.

Theao: Just about anything organic will get infected under the right circumstances (the Ebola virus likes to jump species). The only use I see for artifical life forms would be to be trapped within the quaenteen zone. (they'd get to watch all of the gore and possibly join up with some of the others who live in the end. I'd rather have as few of these as possible, though.

All: remember, I ask that each of you RP at least several deaths of your own characters (filler people if need be, but put a little effort into them, please).

*Sigh.*

This is all too complicated for me. I will catch you around, you can be sure of that. I've been searching for RP partners...

I can't really post anything untill the 26th of this month, seeing as my last few days before vacation are very busy. I'm afraid my portion of the thread will have to wait until then. Feel free, however, to post your characters and their lives/actions during this time. (it's doubtful that they know of the outbreak yet, so keep that in mind)

Thanks for understanding and sorry for postponing.

(BTW, sorry for the spelling and or typos, I have little time right now)

Bump and an update.

Monday I'll begin the second event that leads to this becoming a crisis. Please feel free to post any time. Also please post character profiles here for any major characters here, thanks. I'm still accepting RPers.
