With the uniting of the island of Timor into a new Asiatic nation, elections were called to see how the people would elect their representatives and how they would lead this new country in the future. Because only people who wanted to vote could, it appeared that a sizable but not to large group of people would vote in this first election. Foreigners were training the indigenous people on how to do a fair election and how to point out what fraud was.

The nation of Timor Island was:

Pop: 5 million
President: None
Ethnic groups: Timor; 75%, Asiatic; 14%, White; 7%, African; 3%, Other; 1%.
Religion: 66% Catholic; 20% Protestant, 14% Muslim

-------------

Parties that the people are going to vote for:

Nationalist Party of Timor:
Leader: Gegali Zakawi

The Nationalist party believes that the small nation of Timor Island should expand its voice on the world stage through means. It should also be more nationalistic in school and have iot mandatory for 50% of school time to be dedicated to how great Timor Island is. It will also cut foreign ties that they deem unimportant.

Socialist Party of Timor:
Leader: Hans Unterdo

The Socialist believe in making all foreign or private industry illegal. They in ten years want to end poverty and make the rich earn as much as the poor. They want universal education, health care and the abolition of the death penalty and other brutal crimes. They want to have relations with Socialist nations that will support them only.

Islamic Party:
Leader: Amed Als Binden

Because Islam is a small part of the island, but religion is not really a concern to most of the island residents except for the Muslims. They Islamic party has been created so that if they ever gain power they will make Islam the only religion allowable. They however, would cut down on crime, and would not allow all Sharia law scriptures on the non-muslim converts. They are deemed radical

Finally:

Coalition Party:
Leader: Akar Sanchez

This is a coalition party of all big military industries and other corporations and foreign backers. They are for the upper classes and extracting all resources from Timor Island.

In the Capital city of Deli, posters began to appear with all four political parties leaders pictures on them and the party name. So far not many people had taken an interest, but Amed Als Binden was still trying;

"To my friends and people of Timor Island. Islam is an extremely peaceful religion and we propose that everyone will be allowed to convert to Islam and enjoy the ideals and beautifulness of our religion. We also propose that a universal health care system is not desirable. We believe that Islamic charities should run health care buildings and decide who should get medical treatment through bartering."

Several people, joined the crowd listening to him to bring the crowd to about 50.

The Princely government of the United Principalities offers a hand of friendship to the people of Timor Island. His majesty's government is delighted that the Island of Timor holds fair and open elections.
Having been the victim of foreign aggression and oppression, we welcome all peaceful democracies.
If Timor requieres any aid in organising the elections, we will be glad to be of assistance.

Thank you for your support. We will probably need about 50 election workers to judge that the election when it is held will be fair.

Debate:

Socialist Leader Hans Unterdo, a foreigner to Timor Island, but extremely friendly spoke against his rivals, lambasting them on the idea of privitization and other capitalist moves that they were preparing to do. The second best presented of their ideals was the Coalition Party leader and it appeared from an exit poll that it would be close between the two parties and the other two parties would pick up small gains.
