Today, the government announced the total collapse of the Whittier economy with the canali dropping from a value of $5.00 to a value of just 19 cents. Where as before the typical family made $25,000 a year, Whittierites are now making barely $28.00 a year. Not enough to survive on.

The government has said they would allow in foriegn aid.
90% of all military assets have been sold to pay off foriegn debtors. The government has, however retained 3 GD's the vast Pandora's Box and the 3 BattleIslands minus their aircraft wings. The military has been dramatically decreased from 10 million to 1,150. Even the small arms were sold off.
The high, 25.54% unemployment rate is straining the government's social services network and the officials have said that the social safety net could collapse within the next month if action is not taken.

Asked if he would allow foriegn aid organizations, Brezhnekov said, that he would allow any that did not seek to upsurp the soverignty of the UPR.

Meantime new measures are being implemented as millions of out of work families have already started to lose loved ones to starvation and death.

We could get some food into the country, but for a country the size of Whittier it wouldn't make a large impact on the people," stated Silvester.

The final option is controvserial, almost like slave labour I know. We are not willing at this time to accept foriegn forces. But we will accept humanitarian aid as we try to get our country back on tracks. While we are doing this, we are also having to deal with an attack on our nation by Norse Country which has complicated the situation.

The increase comes in the form of four additional Recon/Training Divisions to be sent to Whittier. This will result in a ready-and-able corps of soldiers in the service of Whittier in six weeks. The Empire will be able to train, arm and equip 200,000 soldiers in that time period, and subsequent six-week periods until Whittier has 800,000 men-in-arms. Xeraph will, if approved by Secretary Brezhnev, match each of the 800,000 Whitterian soldiers with 800,000 Xeraphian Marines, bringing the total National Defense Corp to 1.6 million troops.

Also, the Emperor has pledged to kick-start Whittier's economy by building factories and employing all who want to work. Moments ago we got word from a government source in Whittier that Secretary General Brezhnekov has made an agreement with the Xeraphian government regarding Xeraph operations inside Whittier. They said the main part of the agreement gave the Xeraphians what they refer to as "total freedom of movement".
Specifics are not available at this time.

The government interdicted a boat today with many of the nations leading scientists and academics. A few were asked to stay behind because of their involvement in classified projects. There were no markings on the boat, and the captain of the boat was of indeterminate origin. He claimed he was just bringing them to safety. The boat was flying the flag of a commercial ship. After brief questioning in a small room the man was let go. It was not in the interest of the coast guard to cause an international incident.

Today, in the the markets surrendered to the news of the last of the Kraven forces to Whittier allies Xeraph and Argun.
Whittier's per capita increased from $28 to $39. And the value of the canali was moved to 25 cents. The Whittier economy has begun to recover in the light of government reforms, foreign aid, new investment, and the surrender of the Kraven. In response to news of the establishment of a National Bank and the news now coming in that Norse Country has surrendered, the Whittier Stock Exchange and the national economy have skyrocketed.

With Per capita saoring from $68 a year to $2,703 a year. And the value of the canali is also way up, to 54 cents. Double its previous value of 25 cents, in just 3 hours of the exchange opening its doors this morning.
Analysts are now saying that Whittier has entered a bull market. And experts note the economy may continue to grow after the treaty with Norse Country is officially signed.

Those who stand to profit from the expansion of the Whittier economy are those who have been investing in it, said Debra Fife of Susan's Mortgages Inc.

Analysts from the left and right are arguing over the cause of the expansion with the left saying it was all due to economic reforms and foriegn investing and aid. The right said the war and the defeat of Norse Country was what really rallied the Whittier economy.
