Project Arcturus Ascendant
The first attempts to tap the vacuum energy of our universe by the pre-ascension Alterans was a failure. Now, with the help of the (relatively) small amount of knowledge retained by the formerly ascended Alterans who returned to Atlantis, The project is being revived, with the new facility being essentially one of the subspace containment units on a large scale, kept in Atlantis. This project would allow the Alterans to generate limitless power, without worrying about the maximum entropy of the Zero Point Energy used currently. The only thing needed now is a field to adequately contain the virtual particles created by the generator, so it can be moved from the subspace containment field and used to power Atlantis.

A reference to the squid-like appearance of the drones used by most Alteran ships. This project will increase the yield of the drones by 30%, as well as improving the shield penetration. It will also allow the creation of faster drones, however the faster variant will lose their immunity to Goa'Uld shielding.
