Yr-Widdfa
03-02-2006, 23:07
For many years now, since the great Gweneddi insurrection and the ensuing Civil War that has devistated our fair land, Yr Widdfa's borders have been closed. Finally, after much hearache, enough stability has been regained in our land to re-enter the world stage and open our land to embassies once again. We have a long way to go before permanent stability and peace, but we hope that the violence of the last years will be soon forgotten and the peace can been established. We desire to establish relations with new nations as well as re-establish relations with our old allies. Thank you.

OOC: restarting my old nations, so I gotta come up with what happend
Yr Widdfa was a very large nation until one of her fiefs, Gwenedd, rose up in rebellion following the assassination of Yr Widdfa's Grand Duke Gwalcmai. The War was stopped with aid for the Allied Celtic States, the region in which Yr Widdfa was. However, not long after, the ACS was dissolved and the Gweneddi war resumed. It was devistating. Radical sects in Gwenedd gained control and took the war to levels no one had even imagined. The Capitol of Yr Widdfa, Caer Myrddin, was destroyed in a nuclear strike. Much of the nation was lost to the Gweneddi as the Widdfae people realed from the events. Finally, Sean O'Brian, Grand Duke since the assassination of Gwalcmai, was killed in a car bomb. The Parliament took matters in hand and appointed Sir Caedmon Bedwyr, a soldier who had risen from the ranks to become the Minister of War, Grand Duke.
Given a loose leash, Duke Caedmon quickly reorganized Yr Widdfa's armies and smashed the advancing Gweneddi Legion at the River Dai, near the city of Dai (recently renamed Caer Cadarvel).
After the battle, the Gweneddi forces pulled back to the territory they had gained in the north and dug in. Since then, constanty guerrilla warfare puncuated by outright battles has gone on.
