SUBJECT: Diplomatic ties

Greetings for the Holy Empire of the Great God Emperor. Your message peaked the interest of our noble and powerful ruler of all things. He has ordered me to find out more of this place and the diplomatic ties in which you spoke of.

Reviewing your message our technicians have failed to find any coordinates in which you spoke of. We will need more information in order to better determine this proposal.

Encoded Message To Ambassador Tiberius

If your state posesses one of our wormhole devices, the Astria porta or 'Stargates', you can tell us your location and we can establish a link by which your people may reach our great city.

SUBJECT: Diplomatic Ties

After conversing with The Faith I have been informed of an ancient device that has been recovered. Our Historical Registars were perplexed by this discovery but with great diligence they discovered it was more then just a mere artifact.

The following is an excerpt from our leading project scientist:

"The artifact was moved from its burial site and is currently in a secured location. Our scientists have worked on this project since its discovery but we have had problems with getting the gate to work. The device appears to be able to dial other location notated by the symbols on the outer track."

The Holy Empire looks forward to our continued diplomatic development.

Briefing Room - Atlantis - Hyperspace

"Any information on this nation that claims to have the city of Atlantis?"

"Yes, sir. Their full name is the Allied States of The Gate Builders. The nation resides in a region known as Lazarus. With a population of 285 million, they are obviously smaller and younger than this great Empire of SeaQuest."

"Were we able to track the exact origin of the transmission?"

"Yes, sir. Atlantis has already left orbit of its ancestral home world of Altera and is en route through Hyperspace. Estimated time of arrival is five days."

"Good. Lets see what this Gate Builder Atlantis has that can stand up to the City Of the Ancients, our Ancestors."

RESPONSE:
We of the Holy Empire look forward to your arrival. We look forward to the exchange of ideas and knowledge between our peoples.

[Actually, I'm several months older than SeaQuest. Remember when the Alteran Ascension told you about the previous claim? That's me. I own Atlantis. This is not the 'Alteran Ascension' card.I told you (as the Alteran Ascension) about the nation that came before yours with the first claim to Atlantis. ME. The Gate Builders.]

"Gate diplomatic team one, prepare from travel."

"Ready to go."

The three Alterans in the gate room of Atlantis were standing in the white uniforms of the military, but completely unarmed. They carried a flag of parley, and were obviously not there to fight.
The gate dialled up the Holy Empire's gate, and soon the familiar swoosh of the unstable wormhole appeared. The diplomatic team walked through, not knowing what to expect. As this happened, one of the Alterans in the control centre stood up.

"We have what appears to be a ship on long-range scans. ETA five days. It looks to be... No."

"What is it, ensign?"

"A copy of Atlantis. A good one, but a copy."

"I don't like that one tiny bit. Have Aurora return to the system. Replenish the drones, and check the shuttles. Oh, and check the ZPMs. We don't want one reaching maximum entropy whena potential hostile is on it's way, do we?"

"No, sir."

"Of course, they could be friendly. Still, it could also be a bunch of lunatics who think that they are the inheritors of our legacy. Weirdos."

The people of Atlantis readied themselves, whilst the Aurora sped back to the home system, two days away with ZPM assisted flight.

On the other side of the gate the three Alterans apeared. As they stepped forth they could make out the facility that held the stargate.

The layout of the room would be what one would expect for the dangers that the gate could bring. Two gatlin gun weapon emplacements were positioned with one on each side of the gate. Infront of the gate was a makeshift sandbagemplacement were three heavily armed solders stood. About another 15 solderiers in heavy armor were strung about.

The three Alterans soon saw a man who was dressed differently from the others. This man was Ambassador Tiberius who was the contact person between Atlantis and the Holy Empire. He aproached the aliens.

"Welcome to the Holy Empire of the Great God Emperor. We look forward to our first diplomatic meeting and wish you a safe visit."

The base commander was also standing with the Ambassador. He could see that the Alterans possed no tangible threat and ordered his men to stand down. With that the soldiers lowered their rifles.

"What's this thing do?" Lieutenant Coors asked, looking at the odd ring-object.
"I dunno. Is it hooked up?" Commander Kewer asked.
"To what? It doesn't have a plug or anything..."
"You're right. Maybe we ought to find out what it is first."
"That's a good idea. I wonder where it came from."
"I heard it came with the ship. The Prospector has been dated to be the oldest and strangest of the entire fleet. Some say it's more powerful than the Panrabia!"
"Dude, it's a Civ ship!" Coor said, shoving his friend.
"I know that, asshole!" Kewer said, shoving back. They stared at teh Stargate for a while, wondering what it was, and gave up and went back to their duties.
((Here's my idea: The ship is a salvaged Ancient ship that was carrying a stargate that was befelled by a terrible disaster. A scrapper found it and was able to re-activate it. He tried to remove the parts but couldn't, o he just sold it to the Pananab fleet after figuring out the navigation. The Stargate actually works and when we find a home we'll install it.))
The Gate Builders

The incoming wormhole to the Holy Empire closed.

The three Alterans approached the Ambassador and base commander. Janus smiled at the security of the gate room.

"Ambassador Tiberius, good to see you in person. I am Janus, administrator of Vis Uban and Atlantis. My colleagues are here to see how the Astria Porta in your posession has held up in the years of our absence. I hope you do not mind. Do you have a dialing device?"

OOC: Actually, your nation size begs to differ. Your are smaller, thus younger. And don't pull the Alteran Ascension card. Gate Builders is an entirely different nation.

And don't try the "Atlantis is unique" card. I already know that there were at least two in cannon.

IC: Five Days After Departing Altera

The Atlantis, City Of The Ancients, dropped to sublight in orbit of the planet which the Gate Builders signal had originated from.

Atlantis - Briefing Room

"Status?"

"We have arrived in the system and are now in orbit of the planet which the signal arriginated from."

"Chances that this is another group of people that found Alteran technology and had people that carry the gene that allow them to use it?"

"Unkown at this point in time. Preliminary scans are being conducted now. We are triangulating the exact position on the surface of the planet below from which the signal was broadcast from."

"Good. As soon as you have the co-ordinates get a standard landing party ready. It may be a good idea for you not to use one of the Jumpers as they may try to shoot you down."

"Agreed, sir."

OOC: Hehe, Fluid Time is a great concept.

[No. A smaller nation is not necessarily younger. The US is far larger than the UK, but doesn't even have three centuries of history. Also, The Gate Builders has the original claim to Atlantis. A claim which I still hold. Regardless, read the join date. Do a search. Read my thread. It is obviously the first claim to Atlantis. And tell me about the second city ship. I am unaware of it. Unless you're talking about Vis Uban, which isn't a ship.]

OOC: Gate Builders is right. Nation size has no bearing on join date or length of nation's existence. Most nations roleplay for their beginning a nation ending hundreds of years of isolation, even though they are only five million people. If you really want to know, look at the join date on Jolt. He joined over half a year before you, making his nation older. He could be smaller for a number of reasons, most primarily his nation recently having been revived.

With that out of the way, carry on. I hate to see a good IC thread ruined by OOC discussion or argument.

"The Ancients" Remiel chuckled wryly as he listened "Those who built the gates so long ago; who unified the stars; who birthed the race of man which spreads like boils across the galaxy...Blighting all with their presence; redeemed only by the glories they can work in the service of Chaos." He moved forward, indicating with a gesture for the communications to be engaged; his vast ship; the Ecstacy of Slaanesh, hovering, like a vast monolith in the void; a stoic bastion of Chaotic depravity enduring against the abyss.

Oh ye who built the Gates; I am Remiel De Drakan; Soverign God-Emperor of the Chronosian Imperium; and Lord and Master of the Galactic Empire. Your re-emergence to the galactic scene is amusing; a fitting gesture to bring us forth. KNow you the extent that your culture is prostituted? Know you the state of this tumultous Universe? The acting adminstrator of Atlantis stared at the screen bearing the message blankly.

"Our culture is prostituted? I would say popular with imitators and phoneys, but not prostituted. Oh hell. I suppose we can guess that this 'Remiel' guy is bad news. And he doesn't sound too pleased about humanity as anything beyond a vessel for chaotic energies. These cult types bother me. They rattle on and on about the glories of their Dark Masters, but they seem surprised when their underlings shoot them in the face to get more power, and to shut them up. Very well. Prepare a party to greet this Remiel fellow. The name rings a bell..."

The Stargate was left there, still a mystery to all who gazed apon it until someone figured out how to work the damn thing. Through Trial and Error, they were able to get the Stargate to open the Iris. The Cheverons were all ready in place for Atlantis, conveniently, and a small away team of Commander Kewer, Lieutenant Coors, and Lieutenant Ghel'Tua. They stepped through the Iris, having no idea what they were getting into.

The gate controllers of Atlantis weren't expecting incoming wormholes. It came as a massive surprise when three people stepped through the gate, after the initial unstable wormhole nearly took the head off the acting administrator. Security teams carrying Alteran hand weapons surrounded the newcomers within a minute of their arrival. Administrator Jove spoke.

"Stand down teams. They aren't a threat. They obviously got here by accident. Who are you, and if you do have a purpose in visitng this place, what is it?"

OOC: All good points. But this is the NS world, where the more population you have, the older you are. All the join date tells me is when you joined the forums, not when you made the nation.

As for the second city, just watch the episode called "The Tower." If that duplicate of Atlantis is there, who knows how many were made.

As for doing the search, you should do the same. If you had, you would know I RP my main race as a group of Alterans that didn't ascend artificially when the others did, but choose to let themselves evolve to the point where the could ascend naturally.

@Pananab: The Iris is the thing that blocks objects from coming through the Gate. What you described is stepping through the wormhole's Event Horizon.

The Administrator smiled.

"I am Acting Administrator Jove. It's good to meet you. especially in such bizarre circumstances. I love it when the universe throws something at you that you couldn't possibly have thought of."

A crewman ran up to Jove and whispered into his ear. Jove turned to him and whispered back.

"My apologies. We've just traced your gate location. You've gone a very long way to get here. The least I can do is offer you a tour."

------------------------------------------

We have no idea what you mean by 'the nation known as the gate builders'. That is an informal title given to us. As the ancient Alterans, as you would call us, we are incredibly annoyed at your suspicion, and are heartily amused by your belief that you have the city of Atlantis. Kindly leave our space, whelp, or be forced out.

The vast warship of chaos tore free of the hellish void that was the Warp; taking to the currents of real-space like some behemoth of the deeps. It lunged forth; hovering, implacable and stoic amidst the blazing stars and tyrant night. They gazed forth; responding to the coordinates; shields still raised; crackling with an ominous intensity as the communications opened once more.

If a nation is revived then it has the population it had at the time of inactivity.]

The thunderhawk disengaged from the ship; tearing across the tapestry of space towards the true Atlantean city-ship; it's broadcasters still running as it slowly, but surely approached.

As you wish; we are of course delighted to interact with such an ancient and august race; such a revered and worshipped species. We have heard tales of you; spoken through the verminous mouths of crawling Dratherian heretics; but regardless...

With a thud it touched down; metal upon metal; the ramp descending; doors sliding open, revealing the mighty form of Remiel. Dark hair flitted flirtaciously about his head; his eyes gleamed with diamond sheen; his flesh was pale yet perfect; as though preserved. His armor was adorned with signs and sigils, talismans and medallions; gilded and bejewelled; a cape of finest silk billowing behind him. At his sides were the two great Daemonblades; Lifesbane and Worldrender; trapped, stirring and sentient, chained within their scabbards.

"Greetings...If there is any way that we might aid you against this threat you face; you need but ask. I extend the greetings of all the Imperium; the blessings of the manifold Gods of the Warp."

A nation drops off of the galactic scene, but that doesn't make them any less valid once they return. To suggest so is folly and prideful arrogance at being denied your toy. This, of course, in reference to the fact that for god knows when since you began you've had no defined tech-base and instead used basically anything you could get your hands on; I believe this issue has been addressed already. Therefor not only was a valid post made by the Gate Builders (I Rped with them at an earlier date Pre-Deletion) establishing their ownership of Atlantis; but also, until recently you didn't even know what you were....

"Your aid would be gladly accepted. These false Alterans, these whelps are not what they want to be. They apparently seek to recapture old glories established by my people. They come here, veiled with pretences of friendly inquiries. My people are not fooled."

The Alteran bowed to Remiel.

"I am Pluton. It is an honour to meet one as famed as you. In our short time here in the modern times we have heard much of Chronosia. I extend to you the greetings of all true Ancient Alterans, both ascended and otherwise. Shall we move to a more comfortable setting?"

"I am honored that you have heard of us; the tales of our glory stretch far and wide across the galaxy; stories that do little justice. Many revile us; tell false nightmares of us being Daemons and frightful monsters. While Daemons feature somewhat heavily in worship and servitude; we are assuredly...At least partly Human. We are also, as you may notice; rather cultured."

Remiel chuckled, bowing softly. "A more comfortable setting would indeed be pleasing; with affairs as they are, I sense there is much that must be readily discussed"

"Holding position."

"Shield status?"

"Full strength."

"If it comes down to blows, prepare a message to the Chronosian ship telling them to stay out of this as it doesn't concern them. Our battle is with the Ori on the planet below."

"Aye, sir. Shall I send it when its ready?"

"Your people have never struck me as barbarian material. Whilst other worshippers of Chaos give themselves to bizarre and civilisation-destroying practices, your people have had a much purer and more sensible connection with the Powers of Chaos."

Pluton clicked his fingers, and a ring transport brought the two into a room far more comfortable than most in Atlantis. The furniture was all imported, from Earth, circa 1850, obviously from the homes of wealthy aristocrats. A banquet was laid out on a central table.

"Please, lord Remiel, sit down."

Pluton gestured to one of the chairs.

Attention Ori on the planet below. You need to listen to reason and accept the truth that we are the Alterans of today. Or are you so eager to start a war with a much larger opponent alone. Remiel sits; pleasantly surprised by such a dated method of comfort; always a fan of formality and simplicity. He mewlsw softly, adjusting; shifting. "Very nice; quite appropriate and impressive. Now; you are threatened by these 'Alterans' as they claim to be; when you yourself say you are the true race of Alterans. A curious enigma. As we mentioned, your technology has long been emulated and eviscerated to form new alien cultures; pathetic parasitic sycophants, lacking in true culture or glory."

He tapped his fingers lightly against the furniture marvelling at every sensation; every carress. "Tell us; what can we do to aid you? What can we do and, what can we gain from our new alliance?" He smirked near impishly. "Perhaps some refreshment is in order? A toast perhaps? To new friends and new alliances? To new lands and new awakenings?"

Pluton opened a bottle of wine, another import, and poured some into two glasses, passing one to Remiel.

"Well, I have seen the technology of your empire. Incredibly effective, impressively simple for machines of war some potent. We can offer you many things in the way of technology. Power generators capable of powering cities for thousands of years without replenishment. Weapons of awe-inspiring destructive power, and the ability to reshape worlds as you see fit. Many of our technologies have both eaceful and belligerent functions. I can see that such things could be useful to your people. All I ask in return, is that you support my people materially in the struggle that my people know is coming. To new friends, and new awakenings. To a glorious future for our peoples, and our alliance."

----------------------

Jove was bored.

"They're annoyed. These shields will hold. They held for a hundred years of warfare, and a decade of siege. They will not break us. They can only wait. Let's make this fun. Fire a drone across their bow."

The glowing formof an Alteran drone weapon emerged from the city, speeding towards the opposing city-ship. It narrowly missed, and exploded seconds later.

Heretical beings under the presumed banner of Alterans; we shall defend our new allies pride should reckless hate and choler drive you to maddening war. Khorne shall claim your souls; Slaanesh shall claim your wayward spouses; Tzeentch shall twist your children to more pleasing forms and Nurgle shall blight all you call your own with the very essence of depraved pestilance.

We shall not be intimidated by you when we were invited here to peaceful diplomacy; nor shall the wrath of the Imperium end here. Should you engage us; the wrath of the Gods themselves shall fall upon you; worlds shall bleed and the stars themselves shall hide

Meanwhile; Remiel let the glass clink against Pluton's, downing the wine with a gesture, sighign softly as it coursed down his throat, a potent and maddening elixir; a delicious and aged brew. He tittered softly, smirking. "To new friends; to new friendships; to golden Ages and silver-laced promise. This is our vow; our bond. To endure against all adversity. You have our unerring support."

Pluton was obviously unaware of how long the wine had been in the storage crate, and was looking the worse for wear.

"Perhaps... Perhaps I'm not in quite a fit state to be... Having high level diplomatic talks."

He stood up, tottered across the room, turned around and sat back down again.

"Maybe I am. I can walk, I can talk. I do need to work on a battle plan for the first strike, after all."

That last sentence was slightly slurred, but perfectly understandable.

Universal Domination? Oh forgive us, we want nothing of that; our own Saintly virtues are not in line with such common megalomania. Why, great Lords; we shall disengage at once, and plead mercy before your feet. We are humbled; oh Lords, we are humbled.

A pause, a burst of mocking laughter and then a cruel and mocking voice.

We choose our allies and our battles as ourselves wish; we shall not be told what to do by a snivelling race long gone by. We are the Lords of Chaos; who are you to give us orders? Who are you to demand of us? We whose masters were born countless millenia before you stood erect and gazed at the stars you would one day travel!?

The Join date is when he joined the forums as The Gate Builders, he is a resurrected nation--hence why he was in the region of Lazarus.

He is older then you, no expereinced NSer will recognize your claim as being older. Because you are not, so stop spamming his thread, and stop acting like a total n00b.

This NS, you have been long enough to know the courtesies and unwritten rules--like Lazarus being the region where resurrected nations are, and that nations can have low pops and be several years old.

Jove was incredibly bored with waiting.

"Looming city ship. Leave this system immediately. If you do not, my city, Aurora, and all our shuttles will open fire on you. Respond. Screw it. All ships, open fire."

The drone compliment of Atlantis streamed towards the ship ahead, the same happening with the puddle jumpers, with Aurora firing all its weapons at the interloper. The swarms of drones and impressive lances of energy streaked towards the shield of the opposing city-ship, an imposing cloud of ordnance.

[Unfortunately, SQ, since the recent alliance talks this has taken on a new dimension. Awfully sorry, utterly unintentional.]

The Spinner ship merely sat in space, seemingly oblivious to all this. Its mile and a half long ovoid bulk hanging there in defiance of a number of physical laws regarding gravity and so forth. The smooth blue-silver hull reflected starlight in odd ways, although this may have been the product of a shield, it also made the ship look like it was coated in oil of some kind.
Regardless, the convseration within the ship was not so mysterious.
"Sil-Sulipund, but these flesh-beasts must have their brains encoded, they keep jabbering on. Where is the comm?"

"Greetings Administrator Tiberius. This dialing device you speak of must be the smaller arifact we recovered."

Ambassador Tiberius guided the aliens to a conference room. Along the way the two chatted. Behind them and the alien's entourage four armed soldiers escorted them.

"So Administrator Janus, you have contacted us in the hopes of gaining information of the history of our gate. I have been authorized to brief you on teh matter."

As the ambassador made his statement the group walked into the conference room.

"Please gentlemen take a seat" the ambassador waving his hand around the table and chairs.

The Gate Builders attack pings off of the shields of the true Atlantis.

"Shield status!?"

"Holding. With our supply of Zero Point Modules, we can keep this up for quite some time."

"Well, perhaps we should instruct the Ori in the upgrades we made over the last ten-thousand years."

"Heh, understood, sir. Powering main cannon. Shall we return fire?"

"Yes, let the main cannon charge and return fire. Beam weapons only. Let them waste their Drones, we will save ours for when they are needed."

"Aye, sir. Returning fire."

Exterior

Dozens of strategically placed shots sent steam into the air surrounding the false city of the Ori. The water around their shield bubble was quite literally start to boil. Due to the laws of nature, the density of that heated water decreased, which then decreased the floatation ability of the Ori city ship.

OOC: TGB, next time, tell me when you edit a post like that on a previous page. Not doing so comes close to wanking/godmodding.

[Okay.]

Atlantis was definately in a hot situation. Jove was stuck for something to do, and Pluton was dozing in apuddle of his own vomit, which incidentally ruined the chair he was sitting on.

"I suppose we can meet them in the air. power up the engines. Have the Aurora cover us. Get the shuttles to form another barrier with their shields. I want this city to fly!"

The massive engines of Atlantis added tot he boiling of the ocean. Great depressions were visible in the sea where the titanic engines boiled away all the water that occupied that space. Soon the city was slowly crawling into the air, competing with the force of gravity in a potentially lethal tug of war. Under a hail of energy fire, Atlantis finally made it into space, with the loss of several jumpers that got in the way of the energy beams.

He had however, almost given up hope; when the Astropathic message from his ship indicated that the enemy city-ship had began it's bombardment of the planet and the city; and that the city was rising into the air for an epic city-battle of hitherto unknown proportions. It was franticly that during this time, Remiel discovered that the gold and jewels adorning him were shiny indeed; and fascination; ordered evasive maneuvers in lieu of linking up with the Alteran's rising city; and awaiting his order to fire.

He now drew back his foot and brought it forth; combined with a booming "Letsh get thish show on the road; we've got an enemy ta kill an' a war tae win!" This was followed by many more kicks, until a suitable (And vomit-lacking) response would come forth.

{Well, after extensive consultation, I have an ultimatum.
You can do one of the following things:
1)Lose the Alteran tech because you voluntarily dropped it.
2)Lose it because it's all been destroyed or captured.

Your choice.}

OOC: @Chrono & TGB: Then I suggest TGB evacuates all visiting personnel to either the planet below via Puddle Jumper or teleporter, cause I won't hold back. Remember, in my last IC post, my Atlantis was charging its main weapon, a weapon not found on the original blueprints of the city ship when she was found on the ocean floor on Altera by my Alterans.
@TGB: Who you talking to? I only pull out my Atlantis for special occasions. However, she is well able to take it and dish it right back. No, I won't be going soft just because you are smaller.

Only upstart here is you, TGB. I laid the foundations for my claims. I actually do the research and don't god-wank. I already know of a nation that tried the path your on, haven't seen that nation in months (since I whooped his butt and handed to him on a silver platter with a couple of my allies). Moral, don't mess with nations that know what they are doing, TGB.

Lets talk about canon and god-wanking and the Secret Main Cannon not present in the initial blueprints? Lets talk about technological consistency; and then lets talk about the lack of it; namely you.

Ankhmet's been around alot longer than you; and thats who TGB is; you really shouldn't preach when you don't know the full story. You may have been RPing elsewhere for years; but this isn't elsewhere; this is NS; and certain of us know how the place works. A few years here'll do that to ya.

1.) Ankhmet and TGB are two different nations.

2.) Ankhmet is already on my Ignore List.

3.) Ankhmet already had his butt handed to him by Abh, myself, and I forget who else after he attacked me without provocation in another RP with a god-ship called the Seth (last I checked, the Seth was in G.F.F.A. hands).

4.) After his defeat, Ankhmet's territory, technology, and ships fell to his conquerers.

5.) As this is just another of Ankhmet's attempts at getting smarter nations to whoop his butt again, I'll slap a Super Ignore sticker on this thread.

2) Ankhmet got deleted due to inactivity a while back.

IC:
Elsewhere, yet nearby...

The quiet hums of the intergalactic battleship Carrick did nothing to penetrate the void of space as it slid silently through the darkness like a roving wraith. Onboard, however, it was a different story.

"Sector seven, subsect thirty six. Two ships of unidentified origin. It appears they're just having a cup of tea, Sir."

From behind the other man studying the holographic radar, Admiral Hans Balran scoffed. "Tea my ass. Maintain distance and monitor all unsecured communications. If you can, patch into their secured ones as well."

He turned to his intelligence officer punching a few buttons on a holographic screen, the green and orange hues illuminating his face. "Mack, get me IDs on those ships."

Turning to gaze out the main windows, he watched the two ships, and watched as a warning drone, barely distinguishable in the void of space, passed by one of the ships, originating from what appeared to be a floating city.

"I'll be damned. What the hell is that thing down there? Looks like a floating city!"

Moments later, the onboard AI's velvety voice answered his question, "Correct. Origins unknown. Shall I initiate contact?"

"Not yet. I want to get a guage on the level of diplomacy going on first."

A couple lightyears off the skirmish-in-progress between the gate builders and the great SciFi singularity sucking up assorted backstories and technologies in its intellectual void

The Exastardestroyer Gungan Glory hovered in between the stars, quietly listening to the wide variety of transmission throughout the galaxy while its rather obscene (And somewhat shoddy, but as JJB clones were made on an hourly basis, one could afford losing a few dozen due to poor maintenance) reactors sucked in the force, revelling in the deathscreams of Jedi and Sith alike, of those who became one with the force...

And who were now used for fuel.

Amusing babble. The captain - A JJB clone with a slightly-above-JJB-clone-average IQ and a crossdressing fetish that had eventually resulted in him - Her - undergoing some surgery - grinned as he hit a few of the clones with his - Her - oversized glove-paddle, ordering them to move. "MESA MOVE, FILTH!"

And they moved in what essentially equalised a pseudo-furball of gungans doing... Well, stuff.

Nonetheless, slowly, and possibly more due to the sheer improbability of entrophy as a concept being outdated within the realms of EJJB, the vast ship begun to move.

The captain had become curious. Now she (And her crew of forcibly crossdressing Gungans/ JJB clones in vaguely revealing lingerie) wanted to know (And do) more.

"MESA EMPEROR! MESA KILL!"

As for Orii: First off, unless episode 15 directly proves otherwise, Orii technology is far superior to the Ancients stuff; Orii devices being designed by ascended beings, Ancient devices, not, after all. Atlantis

The stargate’s inner ring glowed with blue lights as it connected. An invitation had recently gone out to visit the city of Atlantis, and there were those with less than peaceful motivations who had heard it. A flickering funnel of blue-white water-light appeared in it, and burst forwards, before snapping back into a vertical puddle.

A man in silver grey robes with a decorated brown tabard over them stepped from the puddle, carrying a long staff in his hand. He looked around the chamber he had arrived in slowly, his scarred face betraying no emotion, and his milky-white eyes showing less. “Hallowed,” he said, chapped lips wrinkling as he did so, “are the Orii…”

Before, Elsewhere

The so-called ‘city of the gods,’ Celestus, was abuzz with activity. Priors roamed its halls, summoned back from their many missions tending the needs of the people of the Orii, their worshippers. The Priors served as purveyors of medicine, spiritual guidance, and they dispensed law and order. A fully integrated theocracy, all answerable to one… man.

Docii, the one who spoke with the words of the Orii, watched this busy activity with trepidation, and returned his attentions to the first emissary that would be sent…

[Nah, I'll put it in this thread...]

Atlantis, Gate Room

Another team was prepared. Pluton had sobered up and cleaned off his uniform, so he headed up the team that would talk to the next group of offworlders.

"Unauthorised incoming connection!"

"Lower the shield. I won't be responsible for a group of aliens being splattered on the inside of the shield like insects on the shield of a shuttle."

"Yes sir."

The shimmering shield that hovered micrometers away from the event horizon of the stargate abruptly disappeared, making incoming travellers safe from the risk of being annihilated before they could reintegrate.

"Have we recieved any message from these people?"

One of the two Alterans behind him stepped forward.

"No, sir. They opened up a wormhole without warning. I suppose they didn't know they could send messages through the gate, or they didn't know our location. Then again, they could be any one of a number of people with access and extensive knowledge of the network."

"We'll give them a warm welcome."

[Hey, not everybody would arrive by gate.. And...Errr. There are ORII out there, you know? Ummm... FLUID TIME! HAH! GETOUT CLAUSE!]

Pluton's face contorted with horror as he saw the being step out of the vent horizon. The Alterans had suffered greatly at the hands of these people at one time, driven out of their home world by the depraved actions of the Orii.

"Security!"

Pluton slowly stepped back, as his two deputies raised thier hand weapons.

"Stay there! Do not move or they will shoot! SECURITY!"

The staff of the control room sealed off the gate room. Probably not much good against a Prior, but a stop-gap solution until something could be done in earnest.
The Orii
05-02-2006, 19:14
The prior held up his hands, remaining still, “I mean you no harm,” he said, slowly, holding up a hand in which there was a leather bound book with the title ‘The Book of Origin’ inscribed on its well worn spine, “I come in peace,” he added, watching the panic in the room stoically. “If I did not, would I not do as Meonedies did, and send forth only destruction through the portal?”
The Gate Builders
05-02-2006, 19:20
"With all due respect, Prior, your people have never known when to stop. We were once ascended! We know what your masters are, and what they seek to do. There is very little chance of you converting us. Very little indeed. Perhaps it would be in your best interests to dial your home planet, and leave?"

The security detail was at the door. Five Alterans, ready to go in at the slightest sign of trouble. Given the power of the Priors, if this one was going to be hostile, it wouldn't be much use.
The Orii

OOC: Can I join in as the Eternals?
The Gate Builders
05-02-2006, 19:33
[Please, no eternals.]

"We rejected ascension out of necessity. Groups like the Orii are gaining strength constantly, and those who oppose them are losing it. We came here as reinforcements to those who oppose the Orii. Admittedly, we appear to be more or less alone in our wish to stop you."

Pluton approached the Prior, and gestured to the book of origin in his hand.

"Can I hold it?"
The Orii
05-02-2006, 19:41
“The paper is without meaning,” he said, passing the book to the local, “only its words are important. Why do you seek to oppose the just, rightness of the Orii?” he asked, seeming confused. He did of course, consider the locals to be evil, but his mission specifically forbade him to start any hostilities. “Can you not see all that the Orii have done for their followers, and will do for all origin?”
The Gate Builders
05-02-2006, 20:05
Pluton looked at the book for a second. He stood silent for a moment, then hurled the book into the still-open stargate, destroying it instantly.

"It is not rightness. It is simply a way to dominate a higher plane of existence,w ith waht they think to be the happy side effect of dominating this lower plane. You work for false lords, just as the false Alterans work under the assumption they are the inheritors, you work under the false assumption that there is anything to inherit in the first place! You will not ascend! Not once, in our time as beings of energy did the Orii Ascend a follower!"
The Orii
05-02-2006, 20:15
If Pluton was after a crack in the visage, the destruction of the Book of Origin was certainly successful in getting one. The prior turned and looked back in astonishment, he’d never seen such heretical behaviour. He listened to the tirade, and laughed, pulling himself up to his full height, “Is that foolishness what you truly believe?

“The Orii ascend all who follow in their path!”

OOC: Suffice to say, you may or may not be right on that matter. I won’t say anything about the truth of Orlin’s claims, (though gateworld has some… interesting spoilers) but the Orii’s followers believe the opposite about the Alterans.
The Gate Builders
05-02-2006, 20:33
"Believe? Little Prior, we have seen the Orii as they truly are. We have battled them since before they ascended. We know what they are like. Just look at the home world. We were driven out, and now it is a hellish place to live for those who dislike your 'Origin'. You can choose to believe it, but in the end it will be your undoing. I beseech you, return to your world."

[Regardless of wether or not they actually had seen it, it would be in their interest to tell the Prior that his beliefs are lies.]
The Orii
05-02-2006, 20:38
“And the Orii have seen what you have done,” the Prior responded. “You two have raised up children, but where the Orii protect and guide their flock, you abandoned them to suffer at the hands of your own foolish creations, the Wraith, and under the oppression of those false gods who use looted copies of your own knowledge. Tell me, who is better, then, Alteran, the strict parent or the negligent one…”
The Gate Builders
05-02-2006, 20:40
"You call us negligent, we say we chose not to dominate their path. Your Orii masters have stunted the spiritual growth of your people, of many different peoples. If you do not give up Origin, it will be impossible for you to ascend. It is that simple. Wether or not you believe it is irrelevant. Our choice to allow our creations free will means they can ascend by their own means! They will be ready, when the time comes. You will never know that time."
The Orii
05-02-2006, 20:46
“You allow your creations the free will to suffer from your mistakes!” he snapped, “Or you are evil enough to refuse to destroy the Wraith when it was within your power! Instead you chose to allow them to continue feeding on your creations, with no hope of victory… You had the power, but never chose to exercise it, because you are too weak to use it correctly!”
The Gate Builders
05-02-2006, 20:48
"We could not have won. We were pushed back to this very city! We were forced to leave this galaxy alltogether! We are not evil. We tried. We fought. We fought long and hard! We lost many worthy comrades in those battles. You have no right to pass judgement on my people for our mistakes. We are past them. You are LIVING YOUR MISTAKES NOW."
The Orii
05-02-2006, 22:58
“When you ascended, you could have destroyed the Wraith with ease. In any case, I did not come here to remind you of your failings. I came to deliver a message from the Orii.

“We are coming for you. The time that your wrongdoings will be punished is finally upon you.

“And now, I become Orii…”

With that, the Prior raised his staff high, glaring at the Alteran.

Atlantis Gate Room

Pluton smiled.

"That's great."

The security team at the door burst in, and opened fire on the Prior with their hand weapons, soon joined by the two Alterans who had been with Pluton. Pluton himself quickly left the room, sealing the door behind him. He headed for the control room.

"Commander Pluton. Further communications have arrived. This time professing to be from a 'Holy Empire'. They have offered their support."

"Excellent. Send a response, accepting whatever aid they can offer."

Most esteemed Emperor Morj of the Holy Empire of Morgantopia, we can only apologise for our previous negligence in not responding to your communications. Uh...let me think...

Late in 2003 I think I and a few others went on extended vacation after the Melkor wars virtually bombed and left everyone mad at each other. Didn't actually quit though, it was just a cool down period.

Mid 2005 I defenetly quit, as just about anyone I RPed with had died off, and I couldn't get back into the swing of things. I was isolated, and it just started to eat away at me whenever I logged on. At that point, I figured I had to quit. The game wasn't fun anymore. I gave my nation over to Phalenix. That was the ONLY time I ever actually finally quit. And I loved my baby too much to let it get DEATED, so I gave it to one of the few people I could really trust with it.

I came back in December...but Christmas, and then the current semester at college has kept me busy. I do want to RP again...but....

Anyway, I've probably held up your RP too long already.

Xeraph would be honored to exchange embassies with Atlantis and The Gate Builders. We have an embassy available for you in our Royal City of Tarantia. It comes complete with an Ambassadorial residence, a secondary residence for your staff, a barracks for your security team, an Olympic-sized pool, and a HeloPad, all on four landscaped acres.

You may send your ambassador with up to 50 staff and 50 security personnel. You may arm them as you see fit. Also, there is an underground garage for three vehicles.

Representatives of the Alteran race will be on their way to Xeraph in the next few days.

We would like to offer you an embassy in Vis Uban.

The Prior's body glowed with inner radiance as he was shot, and he staggered back. Flames burst from underneath his skin, and he was immolated in a blaze of fire. The robes burnt away to ash, flaking and falling to the floor in the still air of the gateroom, and the indistinct figure flickered, flames extinguishing themselves at its feet, and taking the body, and the staff, with it.

With an exhultant cry, the figure disappeared, and the stargate behind him, shut down.

The security team warily approached the pile of ashes left by the Prior's immolation. The team leader poked it with the tip of his boot, then activated his comm.

"We need a cleanup at the gate room, we need a cleanup at the gate room, over."

An older Alteran shuffled in with a broom, and swept up the remains of the Prior.

"That'll be fine. I understand that this could be quite a shock to anyone."
The Commander led his men back through the Stargate and reported to his captain, who in turn contacted his Admiral. This Admiral sent the message onto the General-Admiral, who has diverted his fleet to meet with the Stargate ship. General-Admiral Stowes sees much oppertunity for an alliance between both parties.

Thank you. The High Council (under advisement from Acting Dictator Janus) is currently discussing the gathering of a war fleet to bring into effect the purging of SeaQuest. We hope that you can participate.

General-Admiral Stowes is a tall man, who has a fearsome appearance at first glance. His messy, black hair was oftentimes dirty and overgrown. His face is handsome but he usually has an expression that he is about to blow your head off at the next moment, and his glasses, which slightly magnified his eyes, only added to the effect. He has over a half dozen weapons visible and many more concealed. But Stowes was on a peaceful mission, so his hair was cut and cleaned (No hair dresser in the galaxy has been able to tame it) and his weapons were reduced to one sidearm in a holster at his belt. He was accompanied by Commander Kewer and Pvt. Coors as they entered the Stargate.

As the General-Admiral stepped through the gate, he was greeted by yet another diplomatic team.

"Watch your step, there was a pile of ashes there and they're really slippy to walk on. If you don't mind, please put the sidearm on the table over there..."

The Alteran gestured to a low metal table to the side of the Stargate.
Pananab

Stowes placed his sidearm on the table and the others placed their weapons afterwards. Stowes turn to the diplomats.
"So where is the conference room so we can get this finished. I'm an Admiral, not a Diplomat."
The Gate Builders
09-02-2006, 00:19
The Alteran sighed.

"I can see you're none too patient. Fine. Control, can we get a transport to the conference room?"

The two disappeared in a flash of light, and reappeared in a room with a table and two chairs.

"I suppose we can get to business, then?"
Pananab
09-02-2006, 02:33
"Yes. Pananab is not a nation that is in one place-at all. We are never in the same place for more than a day and we have been searching for a home. Why we haven't simply picked a random M-Class planet to settle on is mostly for sentimental reasons, but in the meantime, we are stuck floating in this big, black ocean we call space. Since Pananab is full of an unruly bunch of ruffians, I have to keep their hunger under control. At the same time, I don't want all of my citizens to die off, either. So I come to you with a deal. If you agree to supply us with enough Stargates to fit our entire Military fleet, Pananab will defend Atlantis alongside your own fleets. That way when our ships are exploding in a giant fireball of death, they at least have a chance of winding up in safety if they get to it in time."

"I'm not sure if you realise the security threat a Stargate poses. There are many methods of making them explode. Many methods and devices which are in the hands of less reputable races. You may be more at risk with gates than without. Not to mention the fact the Council may flat-out refuse your request."

The colonial diplomats stepped out of the Raptor and headed toward one of the many buildings of Atlantis. As they entered they were imidiatly transported to on of the many meeting rooms in the city and were greeted by an Alterran liason officer, he turned to the representatives saying
"Good evening Gentlemen, please take a seat. the Commander will be with you shortly, untill then please enjoy some refreshments"
then the same teleporter that had brought them to the room took him off to somewhere else in the city, leaving the representatives alone with a plate of sandwichs.

Ambassador Tiberius escorted the Alteran contacts back through the gate. The first steps of exporation of this galaxy have taken place.

"We will keep in touch". spoke the ambassador before the gate closed.

A short time later an Alteran diplomat transported into the room.

"I trust the sandwiches were satisfactory? we've been in sucha hurry that we couldn't do much. Besides, Pluton and Remiel de Drakan ruined the room when they got drunk."

"What In the World Is this thing"

Captain Harrison of the Mining Ship Cabo stood and looked blankly at the large ring floating in front of his ship.

"Let's get our salvage teams out there, I don't want to risk any more damage to it from the Asteroid Belt."

As the two ships departed, they fired grapplers at the ring and pulled it in. Tranporting it back to the ship, they where amazed at the sheer wheight of it.

When it was settled into a large crate in the Cabo's Cargo Bay, a Petty Officer walked over to it in awe.

"Sir," he said into his mike, "I saw this while I was working for the NAvy inIn Cheyene Mountain. We need to get this back to Cyprus."

The Captain shrugged, and ordered his bridge crew to return to Cyprus, the moon sized asteroid they had hollowed out to form their current base.

<What is it?>

<Don't know.>

The object the two Shadow Thralls was discussing was one of the Stargates, each complete with a D.H.D., that had been brought back by one of the Scouts.

<Why did the Sernaix bring so many?>

<The one in charge of that Scout always had an acquisitive nature. We can redistribute them on Sycorax, the rest of the planets in the system, and any furture worlds we claim.>

One of the Thralls looked over at the Sernaix commander in question.

<Do you know anything about these things?>

The Sernaix replied, "I know that they are some form of long-range personnel transportation device. One activates it using the control pedastool and steps through and ends up at their destination nearly instantly. Range is only limited by how much power is supplied. I managed to also get hold of several Gate Addresses as they are known. These Addresses are what are input into the controls. The Shipmind reckons they are some sort of stellar address."

<Is the test ring hooked up to the planetary Hyperspace Tap Core?>

<Yes. They finished the hook up yesterday.>

<Tygora, input one of these "Addresses.">

"By your command."

Another Sernaix walked over to the D.H.D. and input the first address that came to mind. The blue lights on the hooked up Gate came on and the wormhole flushed outward as the dial button was hit.

<Send the signal.>

A message was sent through the activated Gate. Which, ironically, would end up at The Gate Builders city ship's Gate Room.

It read, "Whomever that reads this, know that we wish contact."

OOC: They have several SG-1 style and SG-A style Stargates. Only one SG-A style Stargate was hooked up.

Captain Harrison stood in front of Fleet admiral Jack Ray, and Rear Admiral James Dewey, with Petty Officer Anderson standing at attention beside them, a laptop in hand (OOC, it uses the quantum foam within a large diamond for processing, which is not extremely far away in RL).

"Petty Officer, would you please explain how you came across this data?" Admiral Ray Asked.

"Sir, I was originally posted in the SGC on Earth, When I left, I was given a laptop containing known 'Gate Coordinates along with astral drift data. My LAptop will allow us to connect with any number of worlds, provided we connect it to the Z.P.M. we discoverd."

"Do so, and please select what you feel is a neccessary planet to make first contact with." And with that, Admiral Ray stood up, and the Petty Officer walked out after a crisp salute.

Sitting in his work room, he kept comming back to one planet, Atlantis. He sent the destination to the Fleet Admiral, and went to prep a diplomatic team for embarkation, hoping some one would be there on the other side.
The Emerald Flame

A blonde man dressed in regal obsidian and emerald colored armor with a long flowing white cape appears in the center of the gate room. He extends his hands in a universal symbol of greeting.

"Greetings. Please do not bother calling your security as this is only a holographic transmission. I am the Emerald Emperor of the Dominion of the Emerald Flame. We are at the very edge of our galaxy and we heard whispers that the Alterans had returned to the hallowed halls of Atlantis. We would have contacted you in a more familiar way but our astria porta was lost about four thousand years ago in a conflict with the Goa'uld. We are pleased to learn however that our long range scanners detected two Atlantis-class city ships in orbit of your world and hope that this means the Alterans are here to stay among us. If it is not too much trouble, we would like to request a new astria porta so we may reestablish ties to the universe and a zero point module so we may contact you in person. If this is beyond your means currently we would settle for the location of an astria porta near us and some way to establish a one way connection to Atlantis. I have had the coordinates of our world encoded in this transmission and I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you."

And with that the hologram turned into a map of the Milky Way, displaying the location of the afforementioned planet. After being transmitted to the nearest navigational computer, the image fades out.

The Pety Officer sat at his computer, initializing the Dialing Program to Atlantis. In front of it stood Rear Admiral Johnson, XO of the American Privateers, and Alpha Squad of the 1st Infantry Battalion.

When the Gate opened, the people inside where amazed as the wormhole swept out ward.

In his command center, Admiral Jack Ray sent a Radio Transmission.

==To Atlantis==
This Is Admiral Jack Ray of the American Privateers, do we have permission to embark?"
==End Transmission==

"And now, We Wait."

The Atlantean in the Gate Room when the Emerald Flame hologram appeared was obviously one of the older Alterans to return from Ascension. White-haired and wizened, he listened attentively to the hologram's words.

"We would be happy to provide Astria Porta for your people. A ZPM may be a problem. The military has requesition all of the production facilities for the upcoing war, so there is a limited supply for civilian use... We may be able to convince the military subcommittee to release one on the grounds of possible alliance-building."

The Alteran sighed.

"Our politics have gotten a bit convoluted."

"Amdiral, We have permission," the Petty Officer said.

"Okay, Let's do this thing." And with that, Admiral JAck Ray stepped into the ripling event horizon. Hre felt a strange sensation for less than a third of a second, and the stepped out into the Gate Builder Gate room.

Behind him came the 1st Squad, who joined him in staring around the magnificent room.

"Where do you want us to put our weapons again?" Admiral Ray asked, having forgotten the text due to the granduer of the place.
