Elections for the Military Council [FT]

Ragtag Fugitive Fleet
03-02-2006, 18:57
In a historic move for the 74th Battlestar Group, elections are being held for the military council. The idea of civilian control was dismissed by Commodore Park, who later accepted the idea of an elected council of top military men who had been stranded with the fleet. The main elections are complete, and all that remains now is to elect the officer who will become Admiral of the Fleet for the next ten years.

Commodore Sirus Park, 46

A military man from the age of 18, Sirus Park understands the importance of the military, especially in this situation. He stands for strict military control of the vast refugee fleet which has gathered around BSG-74, and regulation of all supplies and monetary transactions with aliens by a military group. He has strong support amongst the military, but is vaguely resented by many civilians. If he had his way the civilians would not have been allowed to vote.

Captain Arthur Cain, 40

Cain is in favour of allowing the civilians some self-regulation. he wants the fleet to get along as well as possible until they get home. He is relaxed about policing the fleet, and would order the marines present on civilian ships to return home.

Specialist John Zarek, 23

Stood for election as a joke. Had massive support from the deck hands. If he gets in control he promises to aboish the military and give away control of the ships.

CAG Anice Val, 25

Another joke candidate. now she's on the Council, Vali has promised to do things properly. A great supporter of Sirus Park, she will no doubt follow his lead in total control policies should she be elected.

Commander Andrew Anders, 46

Commander of a small picket ship, Anders knows the way the people thinks. Something of a leninist (not really applicable, given his homeworld isn't within 100 light years of earth), he wants to abolish the military council and establish 'dictatorship of the proletariat'. Not widely supported.
