I’m looking for one or more nations to be adversaries in a broad, sweeping great-power roleplay of a war for national survival who possess the following:
-Relative population parity
-Sane standing peacetime army(combined active duty and reserve armed forces are <~1% of population)
-Firm grasp of the concept of deployment time
-Interest micro- and macro-roleplaying(character and unit roleplaying)
-Solid comprehension of the English language, with particular emphasis on spelling, grammar, and the rules of punctuation and capitalization
-Interest in developing and using maps during the conflict
-Interest in preplanning the ebb-and-flow of the conflict as much as is humanly possible

I’m probably asking for too much in all of that, but if anyone’s interested, give me a ring. At the moment, I’m just looking for an RP to sink my teeth into, without the number wanking, bizarre pseudo-English or AOLspeak, and suspension of disbelief besieging random appearances of armies of millions of men.

I'd offer myself into this, but my army isn't sane.

Well, I'm interested, depending on what type of RP it is. I'm more of an in depth RPer. I don't like using large amounts of anything. Heck, the SCAF (Sniper Country Armed Forces) don't even reach 5,000,000 troops. I'm a SpecOps RPer, and like to work with small units at the squad, platoon, and company grade level. Meh, probably not exactly what you're looking for.

I would consider this idea, but my population is way too small and my military still too low-tech to really put up a meaningful threat. Further, we're not really a warlike nation. However, the idea of a micro- and macro- level roleplay is interesting; perhaps a peacekeeping operation or military exercise would be more in order.

What exactly do you mean by "national survival"?

"National survival" was, in hindsight, probably a poor choice of words. What I desire is, quite literally, a clash of the titans: One the requires societal mobilization to be fought. In all honesty, though, I'm not entirely sure how to get that before reaching the nuclear threshold. Which'll probably render this a moot point in an exercise of futility.

I wouldn't mind. I have nowhere near your population, though. You could try invading New Feluca if ya want. ;) The thing is, I don't allow the whole satellite weaponry thing or unrealistic tech.
