Under pressure from the National Police Force, King Aleksandar V has resigned his post of King of Balkanska Kraljevina. In a statement lasting 30 minutes Aleksandar claimed that his resignation was forced, but that he had no choice.
The National Police Force, which is basically an army in all but name and has been known for its republican sentiments, have arrested and executed the members of the royal government, including Prime Minister Dragovic, Foreign Minister Jovanovic and Commander in Chief Zlatic.

Reporst have come in that the province of Kraljevska has declared it will not recognise the new republican government and proclaimed unilateral independence. Federal Republican Guard Services have been disarmed and the King has been liberated from Bijeli Otok prison, accepting the post of Price of All Kraljevskans. In the capital city of the Republic, Crnograd, the Lord Protector of the Republic, General G.D. Karlovic, has proclaimed the state of emergency, the end of freedom of speech, imposed censorship of the press and ended the autonomy enjoyed by the former crownlands, which were a kind of Royalist version of autonomous regions. All borders have been closed. In the new capital of the Royalist principality of Kraljevska, loyalist forces have formed the Legion for the Defence of Prins Aleksandar, a legion enjoying vast popular support and allready outnumbering the republican forces in 3 neighbouring departments (department has replaced the crown lands). The acting Princely Prime Minister, Dr. Predrag Kostic has called on all civilised nations to help restore the former Kingdom. meenwhile, his Republican adversary, General Karlovic has warned nations not to intervene, threatening to use chemical and biological weapons is anyone will.

In a speech condemning what the Princely Governement called the illlegal and undemocratic coup d'état by the Army in neighbouring Balkanska, the Speaker of the United Princely Divan (the equivalent of a prime minister) has ordered the mobilization of all armed forces in order to protect the frontiers and neutrality of the United Principalities. The order has been ratified by the Divans of Both walachia and Moldova and His Princely Highness. The Dunarea, the river forming the border between Balkanska and the UPOWM (abreviation of the full name of Walachia and Moldova) , has been partolled by the Princely Navy from dawn onwards and fighting has been reported between the princely airforce and the rebel aircraft of the Republican administration of General Karlovic. The face of Prince Cuza is grave and as he begins his address to parliament: "Fellow citizens of the United Principalities, this morning, in the gray of early dawn, Republican forces from our neighbour, Balkanska, have invaded our territory, occupying the province of Oltenia. In spite of brave fighting on the side of Federal Border Defence Forces, we have as of yet not been able to recover the provincial capital of Craiova, although most of the province has now been recaptured. After such a vicious attack on our neutrality, which we have kept for so long and diligent, we will no longer tolerate the evil dictatorship of general Karlovic and I hereby ask the United Princely Divan, composed of 50 delegates from Walachia and 50 from Moldova to grant the official state of war between our nations. "

The army of The UP is hoplessly outdated and consists mostly of sabre-armed cavalrymen, WWI cannons and airplanes and rather old ships, using steam as fuel. A proclamation has been dispatched by the Prince to all civilised nations to help The UP in het Struggle against Balkanska.

It was a cool, bright spring morning in Craiova. Nothing suggested that the occupied city of Craivoa would be the scene of disaster. As day broke, the entire 1st division of the United principalities Defence Forces, the Princely Cavalry, and the nation's fledgewing airforce, including 14 Aero-600 bi-planes, 3 Farman-20AB Bombers (propellor-driven, but steel monoplanes) and the new experimental f-6 jetfighter were posed to take on the Balkanska Republican aggression.
As this army approached, containig the bulk of the country's defensive forces, the aircraft of the Peoples Republic of Balkanska Kraljevina surprised the airforce on the ground destroyiong all modern aircraft, leaving only 3 bi-planes. Two of these have been shot down by enemy jet-fighters. The balakanska forces were well prepared and the cavalry was hacked to pieces by a tank division. :mp5: :sniper:
Prince Alexandru Ioan Cuza was killed in combat. the infantry scattered and capitulated a day later to the forces of the republican government of Balkanska Kraljevina.

"How bad are we doing?" asked the newly elected prince. "well, to tell you the truth... we have had no help from our allies and the bulk of our army has been defeated... we have no airforce left and it appears that our landforces are in total disarray... it seems that we are suffering a full-scale republican invasion...""how long can we still hold out?" asked the prince. "Not for very much longer, highness. I suggest you move the capital to Jassy, in the North, to moldova. Walachia is sure to fall, but perhaps we can hold out in the mountains." "Give the men orders tot prepare the journey and let them blow up all infrastructure of any use to the enemy!"

This is an emergency message to all citizens of the United Principalities of Walachia and Moldova. The offensive which had the aim of driving the foreign invaders of our lands has failed. I, Prince Alexandru ioan Cuza, have given the order to move the Government and Divan to Jassy. All citizens of the Principality of Walachia are requested to do their utmost to prevent the enemy usig our military facilities, civil service records and other vital points of infrastructure. All traitors will receive the death penalty. "

Ebolania hereby formally recognizes the United Provinces of Walachia and Moldova and wishes to contribute 3 million Ebolanian Marks in foreign aid to their struggle.

In Crnograd, the hall of the republic (Formerly the Houses of parliament) the Council for the Defence of the Republic met under a haze of rumours. After a session lating all night, General Jankovic issued the following statement.

"Citizens, Republicans,
After having found out that the United Principalities of Walachia and Moldova have been secretly delivering arms and muniton to the Royalist terrorists of the so-called Principality of Kraljevska, which is no more than a rebel province, the Lion of the Republic, His Republican Excellency General Karlovic has issued that this perfide "democratic" country be invaded and all resistance by the roayalists be crushed. A state of war existis between our nations. Furthermore, all ethnic Walachians and Moldovans having obtained Balkanska statehood are herby under arrest and sentenced to death. The provinces of Granica and Dunav, in which this ethnic group forms a majority, we will ship them to other parts of the republic to face execution. All citizens of the republic thought of collaboration with the royalists will be shot on sight.
Parliament is disbanded and its mebers shall be put to death. The sole expression of the will of the people shall be the Republican Party of National Salvation".

After the withdrawal of the army and government out of the capital city of Ekarest, the city officially fell to the Republicans a day later. As tanks rolled in over the Bulevardul Palatului, bulldozers wrecked havock in the hisotrical parts of town. All memories of an independant Walachia are being cut-down. The university lies in ruins, the divan building has been blow up and the priceles Chruch of Saint Nicholas and Ilie has been bulldozed, destroying 12 th century masterpieces of art. All intellectuals remainig in the city have been arrested and nothing has been heard of them.
The bridges over the Dunarea have been destroyed by Walachian guerillas and the army is holding out at the frontier of Moldova and Walachia, because of a generous gift by our friend and ally Ebolonia. Still, to recapture lost territory, we still need a whole lot more.

"So what's this Karlovic all about, hmm?"

The leader of The Iron Curtain Soviet Imperium Of The Pan-Soviet Union, Soviet Premier Comrade Vladimir Kuschev, was being briefed on the situation in Balkanska Kraljevina by the KGB, in his office in The Kremlin, Moscow.

"He seems to be clamping down on civil liberties in his area of control Premier Comrade. But so far, his political compass has not been expressed. I must say, he's come out of the blue." The high ranking KGB man, and personal friend of Kuschev explained, while standing in front of Kuschev.

Kuschev grunted in acknowledgement, his short, stout, bald figure relaxed in his chair, his fingers steepled in front of his mouth.

A monarchy had indeed been overthrown, which Kuschev always welcomed, but that did not mean The Red Flag would be flying there instead.

"Lord Protector?" Kuschev snorted.

"Yes, Premier Comrade. That's what he's calling himself." The KGB man said, trying to keep a straight face.

"Hmm" Kuschev mused.

They both stared at each other, with smiles on their face, daring the other to laugh first. But any victor of the dare was unclear, as both men burst out laughing at the same time, the sound resounding around the room.

All private property will become the possesion of General Karlovic.

All Volassi's (ethnic group making up most of the populatian of walachia and Moldova) must be exterminated, as well as their royalist henchmen.
All infants are from now on owned by the state. All parents are required to leave their sons ans daughters at the prescribed drop-off points. education and lodging will be provided for them. raising your own children is strictly forbidden and punishable by death.
all resistance to these rules will be crushed and all traitors will be shot.

The Communist party of the UP of Walachia and Moldova has agreed to change her name to the Social Democrat party and accept the monarchÿ. Spokes person A Iancu has proclaimed that the monarchy and Social democracy will work together for the future of the United Principalities, which has come under threat from outside forces. The offer made by the prince was that the parliament, called Divan will now elect the Prince and that the primogeniture has been abolished.
Meanwhile, the Up Forces have managed to halt the republican offensive and are still holding the only exit to the sea: the strategic ports of Galatzi and Constantza. The first UP tank division has been formed and an international donor conference will begin in the new capital of Jassy soon.
Flights carried out by surveillance aircraft operated by the new UP airforce, containig new bombers, jet-fighters and reconnaissnce aircraft, have proved mass-murder committed by the Republican special forces, called the Order of th She-Wolf. Ekarest has been reduced to rubble.

The Republic of Cascadia will send an aircraft carrier with 20 F-16 jet fighters and 8 heilcopters and 500 men in 60 tanks to help Walachia and Moldova.

the Republic of Cascadia asks that General Karlovic start democratic reforms now and stop the war or we will be forced to launch airstrikes againest you.

Yesterday, in the gray of the early morning, Ebolanian forces have violated our territory. It has also been noted that they actively support the criminal Royalist regime of the United Principalities of Walachia and Moldova and thereby are actively frustrating the noble efforts of our Armed Forces to liberate these lands from feudal oppression. Under such conditions, we have declared war on this nation. Furthermore, we declare total mobilisation against this vile opponant of true Republican justice.

In the break-away principality of Kraljevska, former King Aleksandar has signed a treaty of alliance with the United Principalities. The goal of the newly formed alliance of Truth and Justice is the destruction of the Karlovic-republic, the liberation of walachia and the recapture of Crnograd and with that the restauration of the monarchy in Balkanska Kraljevina. Most of the South of balkanska is now in the hands of Royalist forces. Heavy fighting occured yesterday between mebers of the Royal Armed Forces and the notorious Order of the She-Wolf. A key note addres will be delivered at the international aid conference at Jassy by dr. D. Tamasevic, expert on this elite unit and its fascito-satanic cult of the general Karlovic. Royalist forces beg all foreign powers not to bomb the Royalist controlled provinces.

Soviet Premier Comrade Vladimir Kuschev hissed between his teeth in response to the latest intelligence given to him concerning Balkanska Kraljevina by his friend and KGB Agent.

"Fascists versus Royalists, with the Communists selling out to the Royalists?" Kuschev said in disgust and disbelief.

Kuschev waved his right hand in dismissal.

"There's nothing of interest to us here. Enough. They called themselves Communists?! Siding with Royalists? They could have fought both the fascist and royalist pigs, we would have supported them. No wonder they changed their name. Obviously not communists after all. May they hang their traitorous heads. No more about this. Enough. Move on."

Kuschev again waved his right hand again in dismissal, with a grimace. For him, the topic at hand was closed.

The KGB Agent nodded understandingly and moved on to other intelligence of interest to The Pan-Soviet Union.

the Government of the Republic of Balkanska kraljevina have stepped down after Royalist forces bombareded the Capital city of Crnograd. Angry mobs outside Parliament hall have linched various government officials and junior officers have staged a coup.
The Provisional Governtment of Balkanska kraljevina immediately ordered its forces out of Walachia and a peace deal was signed. Menawhile, King Aleksandar was given a heroes welcome on returnig to the battered capital. all over town mass was said in various churches and Republicans were beeing arrested, trialled and mostly executed.
Older women were crying at the streets when they saw the king entering parliament, where all deputies stood up and the national anthem was played. The prince of Walachia and Moldova was also present and the king pledged financial aid to reconstruct Walachia after the war.
In Walachia, angry mobs have thrown stones at retreating Balkanska army units. Seconds later the princely army and airforces moved in to secure the area.
