Admiral Jack Lotam slammed is fist into the table. The pride of the Kordoan Navy had been taken from his grasp. He had worked hard to secure the funding and approval of Projects Chameleon and Komorran under Jack Kordo II and even harder under his son Rick. He had fought hard and won, finally creating a secret fleet that would be able to give serious leverage to Kordo and allow it to take its revenge and release its fury on almost any nation in the world.
Now, after years of work and political in-fighting, the ships were gone. Not simply destroyed or scraped by the bureaucrats in Kordo City who didn’t have to worry about keeping Kordo safe. No, the ships were gone.
The ships slowly stopped maintaining communications with Kordo High Command and stopped transporting goods for their ‘real’ jobs. The ships, their crews and the elite Waffen SS-Heimwehr guards that had been on board to protect them simply fell of the map. He shook his head and smoothed his tie. Time to brief the troops. he thought to himself. Focusing for a moment to calm himself down, he turned and entered the conference room.
“Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen, you’ve been given the report so let’s ignore the bull-shit bitching and ass-covering and get right to the point. This situation is bad and we need a handle on it fast. I need answers now, and I want them to be good. Jimmy?”
Jimmy Knox’s, commander of the Kordoan Waffen SS-Heimwehr, the force charged with protecting the ships shook his head. “Wasn’t a problem on our end. I hand picked each member of the escorts myself. Each troop commander had worked with me in one way or the other for over fifteen years at least. If anyone took these ships, they would have had to go through my boys first and let me tell you, they weren’t exactly armed to shabbily either.”
Jack snorted “Glad to hear you trust the men that just lost us five nuclear armed ships. We need to react and we need to react yesterday. We do have to do this with some level of tact however. Fleet deployments will be limited and troop deployments will be decided as the need arises. I have no desire to start a large-scale war.”
Herman Brewer, head of the Gestapo raised his hand. “I’m assuming you want the pressure to be turned way up on this correct?”
“That’s right, every asset needs to feel the burn. This is gonna threaten to compromise our mission I know but they aren’t going to know what’s in them and that gives us the advantage. Jimmy get your boys in Military Intelligence doing the same. Dismissed!”
As the crowded room emptied Herman approached Jack. “What’s the Emperor’s opinion on this matter?” Those in the room paused for a moment and all eye’s shifted towards Jack.
“The Emperor doesn’t need to know about this yet.”
