Geography of Nadias
Balthazar’s Landing is an arid, desert-like region of the planet Neiuw Arrakis, N 53.80 / W 5.35. With almost no oceans to speak of, Balthazar’s Landing holds the planets wealth in oases, springs, as well as underground pockets of ice. Outside of the capitol nation, Nadias, is the Great Road, named for being the only inter-city transportation (barring flight), and only manner to cross the desert. The desert itself is composed of meager scrubs and bushes, and a host of smaller predator-prey relationships. It’s most prominent feature is De mond van de hel, an 8000+ meter tall plateau. Recently, the country of Nadias practiced dumping of environmental waste out in the great reaches of the desert, until a study showed the extreme drop in life in the area, resulting in the extinction of several different species. The Clean Energy Production Act of x.1375 was passed in an effort to reduce the waste output of various nuclear plants, making it a felony to dispose of eco-waste without taking the proper steps. 90% of the cities energy comes from a series of solar collectors installed atop De mond van de hel.

A Brief History of Nadias:
Early History:
A group of Dutch Muslims, seeking religious freedom struck out into space, eventually finding a dead-looking planet that suited their needs. They named the planet Niew Arrakis, after the previous planet they were ejected from.
When they first arrived at Niew Arrakis in the year x.0, the Dutch immediately settled into the lush, Oasis. They christened the place “Nadias”, after the legendary Heroin Nadia. It was perfect to there needs; the desert prevented most opposing armies from invading, and the Oasis provided the Dutch with everything they needed.
The Colonial Era:
As the fledgling nation grew, religious immigrants fled to Nadias, consisting mostly of Buddhists and Christians, eventually dwarfing the Muslim colonialists. As the country continued to grow, the discovery of oil inside of a massive plateau spawned an industrial age.
A New Nation:
Almost a decade later, the country of Nadias was recognized as a Nation, and was now officially and legally able to apply for the UN. As such, it applied and made it into the UN December 17, x.1332.
Neighboring communities arrive:
Several years later, x.1344, 2 more groups arrived, the Nomadic Peoples of Rukon and the Nomadic Peoples of Ryu No Ko. Though they differed in governmental styles, these three Nations soon became steadfast allies.
