For centuries the ysalamiri were a plague on the Jedi… That is until one Klingtonian Genetic Scientist decided to do something about it. Tensions with the GE and the Klingtonian Empire were high, and Doctor Richard Von Runstedt decided to make things easier for the Jedi in the coming war.
The plan was simple:
For millenia the ysalamiri had evolved to avoid a predator on the planet, the vornskrs, the only known creature to use the force to sense what it is doing and its prey. The ysalamiri had developed a field of non-force, where the vorskrs were ineffective. The vornskrs evolution then took a new path, whenever they entered into a non-force field, they go berserk… The Doctor’s plan involved a look at the DNA that allowed the ysalamiri to make their field and through reverse DNA structuring and the combined DNA counter-effects found in the vorskrs, he planned to Genetically Engineer a new creature… one that could cancel out the effects of the ysalamiri, and allow the Jedi to live without fear once again….
