Introduction Resurrected Danu
http://img.factmonster.com/images/home/flag2.gif
Background:
Celtic tribes arrived on the island between 600-150 B.C. Invasions by Norsemen that began in the late 8th century were finally ended when King Brian BORU defeated the Danes in 1014. English invasions began in the 12th century and set off more than seven centuries of Anglo-Irish struggle marked by fierce rebellions and harsh repressions. A successful 1916 Easter Monday Rebellion sparked several years of guerrilla warfare that in 1921 resulted in independence from the UK.
Resurrected Danu holds fast to the Irish traditions of her Forbearers and those of the Holy Republic of Danu of which she is the Central island. There have been incidents over the past Hundred years with extreme British Nations and with some of her own Irish Kinsmen. She has been at peace for the last 5 years and has kept to an isolationist policy to try to rebuild her culture and her people after a series of disheartening conflicts abroad.
