The Beltway maintains a large Security Force, which takes up over twenty percent of the nation's budget. In compliance with the Van Hollen Defence Act, we hereby present information as to the strength and composition of the Beltway Security Force.

Army:
The army of The Beltway is composed of nine active and twenty ready-reserve divisions. These are grouped into five commands for organizational purposes.
Northern Command:
Role - The role of NorthCom is to protect The Beltway from enemies to the north. Due to recent warfare in the North, this is the strongest command, with three active and six ready-reserve divisions.

Western Command:
Role - The role of WestCom is to defend The Beltway against western foes. Due to geography and recent conflict, this command has been assigned two active and four ready-reserve divisions.

Eastern Command:
Role - The role of EastCom is to secure the Eastern Shore and Delaware against attack. It has been forced to fight only once, after a surprise attack, and fought an effective rear-guard action against superior forces in Dover. It currently consists of one active division and two ready-reserve divisions.

Southern Command:
Role - The role of SouthCom is to defend Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland against attack. It has not yet been involved in conflict, and currently consists of two active divisions and three ready-reserve divisions.

14th Reserve Armored Division

Central Command:
Role - The role of CentCom is to act as a reserve force, ready to reinforce any threatened commands. Its forces have fought with distinction, and its first commander was Andrew Lim, the hero of the Western War. Currently, it is composed of one active and six ready-reserve divisions.

The Army Air Corps maintains the majority of the aircraft of the Beltway Security Force. It has a strength of twelve active and twenty-five reserve wings, and maintains four bases. Only active strength is listed; reserve wings are a mix of C-17 transports, F-22 fighters, and other equipment.
