CALL TO ARMS!
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/6470/crown1bb.png
Attention Commonwealth Nations!
In recent times, land, air, and naval forces of the evil nation of Doomingsland and its freedom hating puppets, MassPwnage, Banduria, and Tyrandis, have attacked and are destroying the freedoms of the people of Vizion.
Vizion's long and bloody civil war has been instigated by the soon-to-be ousted dictator "President" Villain. Praetonian and Questarian forces are battling to free the 5 billion people (+) of Vizion from the horror of Doomingslandian oppression but so far our efforts are vastly outnumbered.
We therefore issue a CALL TO ARMS! To all Commonwealth nations to liberate the nation of Vizion from its opression and restore democracy, freedom, and these things that civilised people wish for. We call for all nations to mobilise military forces in defence of the democratic Vizion, which is struggling through lack of arms and equipment.
At this moment the United Kingdom of Questers hereby declares a State of War exists between it and the nations of Doomingsland, MassPwnage, Banduria, Tyrandis, and Mcleod03. This action is supported by HM Government, HM The Queen Clara II of Questaria, and the House of Commons by a majority vote of 61-538.
We shalt not faulter, we shalt not stand idly by while a nation once true to democracy is attacked by foreign powers in a bid to remove its freedoms.

[OOC: I'd been staying away from the thread after some activities I've already kvetched about in the ViZion OOC thread, but anyway... I'd prefer not to get involved militarily because there are already way too many people involved and I have an aversion to open RPs, but I'll at least post something.]

Official Statement
Incorporated Sarzonian Government
The Incorporated Sarzonian Government stands with her fellow Commonwealth allies in Questers and announces that any and all extant diplomatic and economic relations with MassPwnage, Banduria, Tyrandis, and McLeod03 are hereby severed. In addition, we have announced our military readiness level has been increased to Code Orange.
Pursuant to the restrictions, the Incorporated Sarzonian Government hereby prohibits travel by Sarzonian citizens to MassPwnage and instructs all Sarzonian citizens currently in the country to return to Sarzonia within 72 hours. We are particularly appalled at the decision by our former allies in Tyrandis and McLeod03 to support such a heinous criminal as President Villain and his repressive policies against his people.
In addition, we announce that any diplomatic or consular staffs from MassPwnage, Banduria, Tyrandis, and McLeod03 must vacate Sarzonia and her sovereign territories within 72 hours or they will be detained pending deportation. We regret the strict measures being forced upon us against former allies, but they have cast their lot with the wrong side and now it's time to pay the price.

Statement from the Department of Foreign Affairs
The Militant Imperium of Tyrandis finds it laughable, to say the least, that the nation of Questers is claiming that we are a "freedom hating puppet" of Doomingsland. Since the inception of the ViZionarian Civil War, we have done NOTHING but seek a peaceful resolution to the crisis, as previous communiques from this office show.
After our proposals for mediation were rebuffed by both the Congressional and Presidential factions, our country began totally neutral reconnaisance flights of the area. As recently published evidence by MassPwnage show, one of these was intercepted and destroyed by a fighter belonging to the Congressional side. The reason for this totally unjustified act of aggression, you may ask? Simply listen to the sound recordings recovered from the downed aircraft's black box. It does not by any means require a great stretch of the imagination to understand what happened: One of our reconnaisance flights had taken evidence of genocide committed against pro-Villain citizens by the Congressional Forces, and was thus destroyed to hide this damning fact.
It is totally hypocritical for the Questarian government to invoke the claim that their intervention is driven by a desire to restore freedom for the ViZionarian people. President Villain may indeed be an autocrat, but has he ordered the killings of civilians unsympathetic to his cause? Have his forces downed neutral aircraft to hide such atrocities from the public view? He hasn't, but the Congressionals almost certainly have. Acts of wholesale murder are not the mark of a free government. The Tyrandisan motivation for our involvement is simple: we seek to expel these killers from the country.
We also implore the government of the Incorporated States of Sarzonia to restore our diplomatic and business relations to antebellum status. The Militant Imperium has never wished ill for Sarzonia, and this radical step of severing all ties between our two nations is mutually harmful. Though we may be aligned with a somewhat unpleasant cause, there is a considerable difference between Mr. Villain's malign policies and the Congress's genocidal campaigns. However, we will comply with the Sarzonian request, and have since ordered our diplomatic representatives to evacuate the country as soon as possible. Furthermore, all Sarzonians residing within Tyrandis will be issued free airline tickets out of the country on the nearest available flight.
Tyrandis would like to, once again, call for a peaceful resolution to this destabilizing conflict.

Incorporated Sarzonian Government
Frankly, I am not surprised by the duplicitous response by Director Mikazawa defending a policy of support for a fascist such as Villian and their request to have Sarzonia restore diplomatic and economic relations to antebellum status.
However, any move toward resumption of antebellum relations can not realistically begin with Tyrandis continuing its alliance, even if it were an alliance of convenience, with the Empire of Doomingsland. We find it appalling that a nation we once considered an ally would itself choose to align with a dictator who would have made Adolf Hitler's toes curl.
If the Militant Imperium finds a difference between the policies of "President" Villian and the so-called genocide of the Congressional forces, I'm sure they would be willing to amuse us by pointing out those "differences." Frankly, we consider any nation choosing to adopt the kind of oppressive regime advocated by Villian persona non grata. The same goes for those who take up arms in support of their cause regardless of motive.
The Militant Imperium has already chosen this course of action. It is up to them to see where they have gone wrong and correct their mistakes. It will be then and only then that we will consider normalising relations with Tyrandis.

[Extract from MNB International "Parliament, Meet The Press"; interview with External Affairs Minister Justina Valdir]
Valdir: "... just won't happen. Scream and holler all they want, we're not getting involved."
Interviewer: "What of this claim in the ViZion Conflict, your ladyship?"

Acts of wholesale murder are not the mark of a free government. The Tyrandisan motivation for our involvement is simple: we seek to expel these killers from the country.
Valdir: "Director Mikazawa would do well to check his facts: President Villian has indeed ordered the execution of every single refugee fleeing ViZion (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10251035&postcount=168). This is what we call a "war crime". Fortunately for Villian, we don't know how legal his order is, so our hands are tied under our treaties with ViZion. I'd also like to point out that putting forward the shooting down of a spy plane as evidence for genocide would be laughed out of court, especially as it was a belligerent party with a vested interest in the matter who recovered it."
Interviewer: "Will His Imperial Majesty's Government act?"
Valdir: "Two things Greg: one, we're on the other side of the world; two, support is sadly lacking."
Interviewer: "You mean no-one here really cares?"
Valdir: "As long as we can keep selling them stuff, no, not really."
Interviewer: "Moving on..."
