The Birth of Death (FT)

Long ago there was a war, a war between two feirce species. One - "The Necrontyrr" a race so evil, a race so brutal and so vile, that even the bravest heros would quake to their march. This was a race of machines. Led by a star god (the C'tan), named the incarnate of death itself, who had the power to unmake the stars. This C'tan (known as X'Zeran, The DarkWatcher) gave birth to this fearsome race millenia ago through atomic winds and plasma storms. The Necrons followed only one, and had only one idea on their minds...to conquer. With their unmatched technology, notably the "gauss" weapons, the Necrons would engulf planet by planet to span their territory and grow in numbers. Nothing was left in their path.

As the Necrons spread, they encountered a fearsome enemy, not known to any mind, but remembered as "The Ancients". The Necrons tried and tried to triumph the galaxies run by The Ancients, but they underestimated the advisary and could not match the complexity, wisdom, and evolutionized race of their opponant. The DarkWatcher tried to retreat, but their foe had retaliated and destroyed virtually every Necron ever born. He had no choice but to conceal himself on his home planet, buried deep beneath the soil, bringing whatever he could spare of his spawn in the Necron race. For Millenia the X'Zeran and the Necrontyrr have been forgotten....until today.

The C'tan awakens.

X'Zeran awakened from his tomb, coming to look upon a desolate planet where he had brought himself from millenia past. One thought was on his mind, recruiting his lost empire. Chaos was once again unleashed, summoning more and more Necron warriors. The C'tan has begun his spread in universe once again.

THEIR NUMBER IS LEGION, THEIR NAME IS DEATH!

The ground started to shake, and very quickly erupted, the only thing visible were pieces of dirt and rock soaring through the thick unbreathable air. Unvieled was a giant iron tunnel sticking out of the earth, thousands upon thousands of Machine like Warriors, only built to create demise, to deal out death. X'Zeran watched as his army was reborn.

The vast vessel; the ancient tombship; floated upon the gentle tides of the void; pausing now about the Tombworld of Soyq XI; the mighty sun laid low by the machinations of the Serpent; Set'thiran; tamed beneath a mighty Dyson sphere, siphoning it's energies. The seething ball of crimson flame heaving and howling in it's imprisonment; set upon by the machines that even now trapped and channeled their phenomenal power to their Master.

It had been many years since he had re-awakened; and now; now, he felt his hunger stir; along with a certain...Curiosity. Something stirred; somethign malevolent and ancient. Something kin and kindred to him.

"What are you, little thing?" It mused softly. "What do you bode for my plans, and for this galaxy given up to us...?"

The montstrous C'tan stood tall above the ground, lifted by dozens of scarabs. It felt a sensation unlike no other, a rush of adrenaline, a sense of comfort. Somethere was out there of the same kind, he could feel it. X'Zeran dug through his mind, entering a deep meditation state. Suddenly the world around him was zooming by, he exited his planet XalgaVII passing meteors, planets, solar systems. The cold black sky and white stars were turned into mere streaks across space. Suddenly, everything stopped, and the C'tan stood before a creature of immense size like its own, but he himself wasn't physically standing there, only a telepathically created hologram. X'Zeran could taste the evil running through the other's veins as it breathed in the thick air.

"Alas brother!" growled the C'tan. "I am X'Zeran, the DarkWatcher! Star God and leader of my Necrontyrr. Thousands upon thousands of years have I waited for this moment that the stars have destined for us. The reincarnation of the Necron race!"

The DarkWatcher hovered toward the large Serpent God, having no intension of harm. Black swirls of smoke like mist were twirling off of the C'tan's cloak. Its pitch black eyes only visible to whoever he wanted to see, or whoever he wanted to kill.

"Your plans are my plans kindred. As of the galaxy, it will become the next Necron target."

The young tech officer frowned at his screen as he read the report a third time. It kept giving him the strangest conclusions. He leaned back and grumbled. His superior stepped up behind him.

"Something wrong Ensign Flamel?"

"Yes sir. I recieved this report from one our scout probe drones. Its picking up massive amounts of metal signatures and detecting life on the planet Xalga VII."

"So?"

"Well, that planet has been recorded as dead and unihabitable, it doesn't even have any natural resources. Imperial prospectors passed it up and labelled it a dead planet." The lieutenant frowned and leaned in close to read the report over the ensign's shoulder. His frowned deepened.

"Collect this report and send it to my consul ensign. Then return to your normal duties. I'll report this to the Captain." The ensign nodded and saluted and the Lieutenant walked away, he turned and went back to taping in buttons.

The lieutenant marched up out of the crew pit and came up to the captain who was standing near a port-side window. He saluted as the captain turned to him.

"Sir, I have a report for you that I believe you should see," said the Lieutenant.

"Very well," said Captain Dinara. He was an aged veteran of the Fleet, and he was one of the most trusted officers in the Intelligence & Reconnisance section of the Imperial Fleet. The two officers stepped over to the Lieutenant's consul an Dinara read the probe droids report. His frown mirrored the ones that the ensign had wore.

"Are you positive this is accurate?"

"Yes sir. Our probe droids were released two weeks ago. Theres no reason for it to be sending faulty information." Dinara nodded. He didn't like the idea of something moving around an aparently 'dead' planet. He turned to the Lieutenant.

"Signal the rest of the Alabar task force. We will investigate this new happening."

"Yes sir."

Four Star Destroyers rondevouzed together then jumped into hyperspace. Their destination: Xalga VII.

OOC: Just to clarify; Soyq XI; is my world. I never materialised before Nightbringer; I merely mused on his awakening; technically I'm not there with him.

ooc: Oh...well he didn't specify a planet, and you did, and so it seemed like you two were speaking mono-e-mono. So I'll rewrite that.

The DarkWatcher stared at Set'thiran, waiting for a response. X'Zeran lifting his head, removing his cloak with both hands and revealing his fearsome face, "Are you with me brother?"

"ANd what if you return to the black ways of old, 'Brother'? Would I be your feast? Would I be consumed? If it were to be so, I would rather have you as my feast and go mad as our Enchained Brother..." It chuckled, rising up, a mighty, robed, power; a grand and terrible Lord of Death and Hunger.

"The universe shall tremble before Hunger itself given form...We shall succeed where once we failed; we shall grow; we shall Harvest and we shall complete the Great Warding. But beware...Our siblings; Mephit'ran and the one the Eldar christened as Void Dragon; still lurk the cosmos..."

"The only honorable death is dying with our kindred. Why would we contemplate of such "feasting" on eachother? My only focus is what you speak of. I cannot do this myself brother." X'Zeran stood tall and strong. Never lessening his voice.

"And what of our siblings? I must be informed in order to grow accordingly."

"Our brethern are not as they once were; they wish not to feast as once we did; to be gods in the open. They fear that we shall take up the Old Ways; they fear being consumed...They fear the prey turning against us. They have abandoned much; even so far as to neglect the pursuit of the Warding"
Necrontyrr
29-01-2006, 23:23
"Neglecting the Warding!" X'Zeran snarled viciously. He snorted "If they forget WE fought along their side millenia ago! Never the less...I do not accuse them. I will need to feed on planets to mulitply, to Harvest blood. The question is: Are you by my side?"

"In all things Brother...In all things" Chuckling lightly, gesturing about it; in the skies above Soyq; the sun was blotted out; a dull blurr beneath the power of the C'tan; wrapped in a Dyson sphere; feeding him; siphoning energy from the mighty orb.

"How shall we begin?"
Necrontyrr
30-01-2006, 00:09
"What do all things begin with? Death. Spilling blood and spreading is what we are best at, and is what we shall do. Protecting and pursuiting the Warding shall always be top priority." mentioned X'Zeran.

"What are some of the major threats to the Necrontyr?

OOC: I kinda need a little more info on whats been going on with wars lately...so I might be able to jump in.

"The young races are ascendant; many of them people the Stars with their...Fetid ranks. Chaos itself takes form and shape; served by willing mortal fools; who bow to it's will. Who force it from the Immaterium to the Materium. They are many and malicious. We have hidden ourselves thus far; but we have gleaned names. The Chronosian's; the Tzaangard of Khurgan; the Azahan's...Each of these races pledge fealty to the abominable powers of the Old One's Folly...These 'Gods' of Chaos."

TABSparks flew from the exposed circuitry in the engineering section of the six-million-ton freighter, Blue Wave. Technicians and mechanics scrambled like ants around the enclosed space, working to repair the damaged nodes in the aft impeller ring. The freighter had taken a massive hit in its stern, but the ring had survived, although barely. They had so far allowed the lumbering behemoth to enter hyper, and travel four light-years from where it had made transit into a world that was expecting a shipment of industrial goods, where also, two pirate frigates had been lying in wait for them. The captain had managed to evade them, but not before one missile made contact, and one had been following it in hyper, at least until a few minutes ago, when it had kept pace with the prey, awaiting its eventual transit into n-space.
TABSuch an action would spell doom for the freighter and its cargo, and probably its crew, but not to do so would mean for one of the nodes to fail while still in hyper, or for its compensator to fail, neither of which were particularly pleasant ways to die. So it was that the Blue Wave, about to fall apart, crashed into the Xalga system, where, unknown to either hunter or hunted, there awaited a fate more terrifying than any of the various interstellar horrors. The frigate followed close behind, unloading a nuke in front of the freighter, which, in trying to remain defiant, circled slowly around, offering a vector that would be hard, but not impossible, to intercept. One more missile finished off the aft ring, where the ship stopped dead in its tracks, failsafes automatically shutting down the forward node ring, slowly drifting along under its small post-transition velocity.
TABThe frigate closed, unloading several boarding shuttles with pulser-rifle-armed roughnecks, smelling the scent of treasure, while fire control locked it up for annihalation with its single eight-centimeter graser and four twenty-five-centimeter lasers, should it even try something funny--though what that could be was up for suggestions.
