People of the World,
I, Kristoph Telonnen, greet you today as the Lord-Seneschal of a nation that no longer wishes to remain in the dark and out of sight of the international community, but wishes to embrace our worldly brethren in a policy of internationalism. The nation from which I hail, the Grand Duchy of Nordpole, is henceforth declared ready for diplomacy and internationalization. Attached, you may find information about the Grand Duchy.

- The Grand Duchy is an absolute monarchy, run by the Grand Duke
- The Lord-Seneschal is the second most powerful figure in Nordpole
- There are no elected government bodies

Geography & Weather:
- Coordinates (90 N, 0 E/W)
- The Grand Duchy is a small nation, encompassing the famous Pole City and a small fief around the city, it is approximately the size of Singapore.
- Nordpole actually stands atop a frozen sea
- Being physically in the center of the Arctic Circle, Nordpole has an arctic climate.
- Major natural disasters include avalanches and ice-melts.

People:
- Population of six million, steady immigrant rate
- Ethnically 10% German, 6% Danish, 14% Swedish, 3% Polish, 3% Russian, and 64% Leicestrian.
- 100% Literacy rate
- All Nordpole citizens speak Polar English, an English dialect
- All Nordpole citizens are Santaic Christian.

History:
- 1100: Leicestrian settlements pop up all over the Arctic Circle
- 1235: Leicestrians contact the Bubonic Plague, resulting in a major die-out of the group, the only settlement left is the North Pole.
- 1303: The Leicestrians come into first contact with Scandinavians
- 1423: The North Pole is declared a colony of Denmark
- 1799: Germany declares sovereignty over the North Pole, thus begins the First Polar War
- 1804: Germany defeats Denmark in the Polar War.
- 1823: Denmark and Sweden invade the North Pole, in the Second Polar War, and gain victory.
- 1855: Swedish forces turn on their Danish allies and defeat them, claiming the North Pole, in the Third Polar War
- 1905: The Swedish Duke of Nordpole declares independence from Sweden, a claim which is acknowledged.
- 1909: The Grand Duchy closes its borders
- 2006: The Grand Duchy reopens relations with the world
