Rigas

Over the course of the last 5-year period the size of Rigas army has been stadily increasing. They claim it's mostly in the interest of law order and discipline, but when over 10% of a nations able population are either drafted or just work for the army you can tell something isn't right.

(ooc: 10% of your population is in the armed forces? how come you still have an economy? :) or do you iclude the people who produce armaments and clean floors?
allso what army do you have? no specifics necesary, but some aproximate numbers (like 100 thousand men or 1000 tanks) would be welcome)

Alfranians file a note asking that you either start demobilising or face the warth of the alfarnian military machine.
the alfarnian military consists of about 50 armoured divisions, about 100 mechanised ones, and an airforce of about a thousand panes. it employs over 100'000 people. few of them are fully stocked, but trained reserves exist to remidy that within weeks. being landlocked alfarnia has no fleet.

OOC: A divison is 15,000-20,000 people. Something ain't right here. And an airforce consisting of over 1,000 panes of glass doesn't sound very dangerous.

Leafanistan files a more threatening note that if you don't stop threatening random nations with military action, we'll defend those nations.

(OOC: gulp! are you sure? ok, then we have about 5 armoured and 10 mechanised divisions. we still have allmost a 1000 planes though)

it's not quite exactly a random nation- it's my neioghbour and it has the biggest army in the region. I say it has to disarm. what says you?
-last word of general Kamas Pomoev.

Offical reply of the New Felucan government,

"You will not threaten the soverignity of a neighboring state over the size of their military. Unless some hard, viable intelligence can be offered, we will not see a non-imperialistic nation threatened."

the reply from Alfranic city was quick.
next morining all of the news papers featured headlines like:
"Rigas asked to demilitarize: please with sugar on top"
and
"Alfrania promises not to show anyone their war machine"
General Pomoev hands in a resignation and is discharged.

(OOC: wow we are a wussy region! the most militaristic nation has 14% defence spending and the second has 4!)
