Red Star, Dark Side (attn: Huntaer-Closed to GFFA/GE War)

OOC EDIT:

The following series of military actions, though conducted during the GFFA-GE War, have more to do with the Huntarian Civil War than the above now-cancelled war (I had forces in his territory, some Volunteers, and we had been planning for us to butt heads as part of his war for a bit for a few weeks now). Thus, by agreement of myself and Huntaer, I have decided to add this tag as a disclaimer on why it is still going, and continue posting my eventual official intervention into the Huntarian Civil War here, as opposed to cluttering the forums with another thread, and causing headaches for Huntaer and myself.

New Leningrad-

The Paris Commune Shipyards were humming, and frantically spitting out Mao Zedong III's like their life depended on it. Which it did. Since Wartime Conditions were in effect, the replicators and machines used to build those great war machines of the People's navy were at full blast.

Two Full Fleets were stationed here, recently built as part of a crash program to get more men and ships to the front. Three others had been built, but were deployed to other parts of the Workers State for national security.

As it happened, the Battlestar Potemkin and the Warmaster St. Ushankov, two of New Dornalia's formidable Drama Casserole class ships, were in port too. They were patrolling the Workers State on a Patrotic War Drive tour, and to show off, were at full capacity.

Nobody expected an attack, but still, Border Patrol and their machines were giving off ominous signals....now that the Huntarian Empire was to be the next Enemy of the People to be insulted in poster and song, there was much reason to be alert.

OOC: This gives Huntaer a window to intervene....

"Ma'am! New Dornalian ships have detected our approach!"

Shelintiave narrowed her eyes and hissed, "Prepair our attack. Have the PTSD's head out toward the center of the system. Power up our Axiel Laser."

"Aye Ma'am."

"Lord Shelintiave, come in please."

"I read you Admiral Jurnaka. Launch your fleet from the side of the system. Surround them"

"Aye my lady."

Shelintiave staired out onto the view screen and continued to unblink at the center ND planet. She will conquer it.....

Border Patrol was right after all. Immediately, Red Alert was sounded, and all personnel reported to battle stations. Gracie awoke from her slumber, comically depicted as a sleeping girl, and then moved to power up weapons systems and essentials.

And, Admiral Bartolomeo Rodriguez would soon see his first combat. Fresh out of OCS, he was made commander of Potemkin for scoring at the top of his class. Now, it was to be seen if book smarts would save New Leningrad.

Rodriguez ordered his forces into a loose box reverse crescent formation near New Leningrad to meet the incoming invaders, the Potemkin and the Ushankov at the Center. He then ordered fighter and Mobile Suit screens, and just for good measure, had People's Hammer Antimatter Torpedoes and Super Warp Cannons on all ships primed for battle. Then, they moved in towards the PTSDs, firing away at them with waves of Torpedoes and Demolisher Gun fire...

The Gracie unit onboard the Potemkin screamed, "Boss! The Huntarians are charging some...kinda...laser...thingy...."

Rodriguez then said, "Then we will destroy them. Gracie, locate where the charge is coming from. Then, send our own Antimatter Torpedoes and Super Warp Cannons at it."

"We're getting a responce, ma'am."

Shelintiave just nodded, and began to rub her chin thoughtfully. Thinking of her next move. "Launch the squadrons. Have the Tie Devistator's and Planetary Bombers's launch an all out agressive attack on their capital starships. Get their ships ocupied, then we will begin to land our troops. I want Phantom Squadron to focus on the enemy fighters. Soon as they're out, have the Kirtir Pilots ready their ships. Get those force users out there."

"Aye ma'am. What about a planetary assault? With walkers and the like?"

"Pacients, tactical. They will get out there."

<Axiel Laser Cannon, charged.>

"Target their command ship and fire away."

Rodriguez then said, "Then we will destroy them. Gracie, locate where the charge is coming from. Then, send our own Antimatter Torpedoes and Super Warp Cannons at it."

"Ma'am! Antimatter Torpedoes fireing from enemy ships!"

"RETURN FIRE! Tricobalts!" Shelintiave shouted.

Rodriguez then said, "WARP TO ANOTHER LOCATION! NOW!"

The Bosun Drive was kicked into gear, and the Potemkin warped to another spot on the battlefield, away from the Axial Laser. The fleet then took hits from the Tricobalts, shields taking most of the damage vut the ships being rocked significantly.

Undeterred, Rodriguez pressed the attack.

Groups of Mothra Strike Fighters, Seminole Gunships and Peter Townshend Mobile Suits began moving to attack the enemy capital vessels. Charging in fast as soon as they got out of the gate, they primed their shields and their heaviest ordinance for the assault on the enemy.

The Maos and the other Capitals moved in, firing Demolisher Guns and El Cid Torpedoes once more at the enemy capital ships to mix things up and busy the enemy, and the John Entwistle and Keith Moon Mobile Suits and the fighters began attacking the clouds of enemy fighters gunning for the capital ships, the Entwistles attacking at long Range, and the Moons furiously zipping about, attacking the Huntarian fighters with all the gumption-and torpedo and gauss and lascannon shots-they could.

IC:

"My Lady! Target changed position!"

Shelintiave sighed in frustration. She should've seen that one comming.
"Keep our weapons on the main fleet. They can fire all they have at us and not do significant damage. Fire all heavy weapons at the nearest starship. Move the rest of the fleet into point-blank combat positions."

"Aye ma'am."

IC: The Tie Darts and Devastators flew and dodged enemy fire, but took heavy losses in using themselves as bait. Captain Atikies flew his Tie Poltergeist, masked by his cloaking device. <Begin PhantomPattern Alpha-2384 Boys.> He ordered a classic command of physiological fear on the New Dornalian pilots.

<Roger Boss.>

<Affirmative.>

This tactic is as good as firing while cloak. The Poltergeists and Specters formed up into squads of 5, with a Poltergeist in the middle. As the Poltergeist rapidly decloaked and fired first, and then the Tie Specters decloaked and fired as the Poltergeist recloaked causing mass mayhem.

And They Shall Know No Fear..... Thought the Captain.

The Mobile Suits simply turned on their Amethyst Cloaking Detectors to scan for the cloaked enemy fighters. Then, the Townshends and the Moons charged them, firing at them with lascannons and torpedoes, and the Seminoles joined them with their heavy weaponry, pouring torpedoes and gauss fire and whatnot onto them. Meanwhile, Marinesko fighters were deployed and joined by the Mothra fighters to sweep the Huntarians from space, charging into their lines and engaging them in figure five formations (OOC: Figure five looks kinda look like half of a V, with a slight bend on the leading edge, for reference.) with heavy ordinance and Warp Gun alike.

One of the Maos was taken out, but this did not deter the other ships, or Rodriguez, who simply ordered half of the fleet to move in closer (but not too close) and fire all Super Warp Cannons at the vessel that shot the Axial Laser, and the other half to move back and fire a spread of People's Hammers at the vessel that fired the Axial Laser also. Then, they were ordered to move back into their previous formation. They began to do so, and at the same time, they then began throwing up torpedoes and Demolisher Gun shots to attack the ships that came closer.

Meanwhile, Potemkin, from her postion, fired a People's Hammer antimatter torpedo into rear of the Enemy Fleet as it moved to position, and remotely detonated it, sending its trademark shockwave all over....

The Nemesis easily took the damage as though nothing had hit it (OOC: Read it's hull and shield statistics. 5x as strong as the Eclipse).
Shelitiave continued to stand in place, while the rest of the officers hurried about doing their general duties. She stood there, trying to understand her enemies. "Bring the ship about to the center of their fleet."

"The center my lady?"

"You heard me. This ship can take most of the stuff they can throw at us. Besides, this is a feint. We won't actually be going into the center."

"Then why.... OH!" The tactical officer suddenly understood.

"Now you begin to understand tactics Lieutenant. Execute."

"Executing Lady S-Tango-4-Delta-H," the Nemesis moved on forward, and 50 ITSD Mk III's proceded from behind, and reconfigured their shielding to desguise themselfs as being exhaust readings from the Nemesis's engines. The enemy would be unaware of the enemies comming in from behind the Nemesis.......

Some of the ITSD's were destroyed, but they weren't significant to make the fleet scatter just yet. They still had one more fleet coming in for backup. It was only a matter of time.

EDITED casualty list:

Nemesis: Fairly much untouched.
ITSD Mk III's: 20 Moderately Damnaged, 10 Destroyed by Warp Cannons and Antimatter torpedoe.

Fighters Destroyed: 20

Fleet Remeaining:??? (how many did I say were in this battle? 200 for shelintiave alone?)

OOC: I'm gunna be updating my store front most of the time I'm on. Don't expect any huge responses.

IC:

Rodriguez was surprised the Nemesis survived the flurry of some of the heaviest weapons New Dornalia could muster. He was also concerned to see the Nemesis moving in on his ships. Scans indicated the enemy was moving forth. And, with a lot of exhaust.

So, he first had Potemkin fire two more People's Hammer torpedoes and a spread of conventionals at the ITSD's hit, and then had them remotely detonated. He then ordered the fleet to move back and close the crescent by moving the sides in, so as to put as much fire to bear on the Nemesis as possible. This was done, and the ND forces began utterly dumping Demolisher Gun shot after Demolisher Gun shot and as many conventional torpedoes and Heavy Bombs at the Nemesis as possible in a wide spread, conserving Super Warp Cannons and People's Hammer torpedoes for when they really, really had to use them.

I don't get it. Is he attacking the ITSD's behind the Nemesis, or is he attacking the ITSD's which remained behind? Does he think that the Nemesis is going full speed against his fleet?

ACE-Recon Report 12803-A

As the Eshirian Sovereignty remains in high level negotiations with New Dornalia, our old friends, the Galactic Empire of Huntaer has again resurfaced. It has been nearly one million years since the Huntarians and Eshirians have crossed paths. First as friends, then as enemies, then as friends again. Unfortunately, the Huntarians and our new ally, New Dornalia have not seen eye to eye and we are once again finding ourselves caught in the the midst of an interstellar conflict where there is no easy course of action.

While it pains the President to issue the following orders, she remains confident that while it is not an easy choice, it is the correct one. President Ki has ordered that additional forces be diverted to assist the New Dornalians in their time of need against our former friends. Despite our connections with Huntaer forged in battle, they remain followers of the darkness, and that the Sovereignty cannot allow.

The Iron Side Fleet will be dispatched to the current battlegrounds and drive the Huntarians back, hopefully until the conditions favor the Sovereignty and we can engage in equal and meaningful diplomacy.

End Report

Without flashy lights, or chaotic displays of power, a single Eshirian vessel warped into the fray. The Behemo Grand class, the single most powerful vessel in the Eshirian Fleet had arrived. Despite appearances, it was all the Sovereignty could spare. Were this one ship lost, the Sovereignty would be more vulnerable than ever before to counter attack. It was a bold and risky move. One that the President hoped would not shatter the Sovereignty in the end.

As the massive vessel cast its shadow on the entire New Dornalian force, it opened a channel to the attacking fleet. The message was informal, and to the point.

Huntarians. Long time no see. Look...these are our allies, and being out allies, they are entitled to our protection. There's no use in fighting, diplomacy solves nearly everything, and it can certainly solve this. I ask...no, urge, that you cease your attack at once and let rational prevail.

The Behemo Grand only raised shields, but did not power weapons, as a show of good faith. Neither the massive 20 KM long, 2 KM high, 1 KM wide axial gun charged, nor did any of the 1 KM large main turrets turn. Hopefully, the Huntarians would get the picture...

OOC:

He is attacking the ITSDs left behind. And he does not think the Nemesis is moving at full speed towards his fleet, but he thinks the fact it is moving closer is ominous....and the V in question is a conventional V, like how Canada geese fly.

The New Dornalian fighters took the Huntarian retaliation in stride, losing some fighters but forming up in kill teams and retaliating as their superiors ordered, charging on the enemy with vigor with guns blazing. They were learning a few things right now, and one of them was to stick together. The other was sheer volume of firepower.

Meanwhile, the Peter Townshends and the Keith Moons took damage from the torpedoes. About three-six Moons and one Townshend were taken out, and the rest suffered moderate damage (mainly to the legs and chest), most of the blast sustained by the armor of the Suits. The Moons then charged the V38s, firing Gauss Guns at them. The Townshends, meanwhile, opened on the Planetary Bombers, locking on them and firing as many torpedoes and Warp Cannon shots as possible. They vowed not to let them out of their sights.....

Meanwhile, Rodriguez's morale jumped when he saw the Behemo enter the fray. It was a surprise-the Eshirians were not expected to provide much help, but this was significant indeed.....

"M'lady! Message from the Eshirian Sovereignty!"

"Let's have it here," Shelintiave was handed the data pad as their ship rocketed from firepower. The datapad had the following messsage:

Huntarians. Long time no see. Look...these are our allies, and being out allies, they are entitled to our protection. There's no use in fighting, diplomacy solves nearly everything, and it can certainly solve this. I ask...no, urge, that you cease your attack at once and let rational prevail.

"Pah. What is the status of their ship?"

"Subject vessel has only raised shields, but has not powered up their weapons. Our statistical scans show us that they have one 20km long, 2km high, and 1 km wide axial gun is not chaged. Nore are any of the main turrents charged."

"Send this following message to the E.S.:
New Dornalia has sent a fleet to help the Rebellion. They have therefor declaired war against the Kirtir and their Empire. We do not wish to conquer New Dornalia, but teach them a lesson that they have no place to aid the destabilization of the Empire by conquering some of their systems. We intend to hand back their destroyed terretories to show the might, and mercy of the Huntarian Empire. Any attempt to help aid the New Dornalians will be seen as an act of war, and will result in the FULL MIGHT of the Huntarian Fleet and Army." (OOC:not that it means anything to you... I'm guessing you're going to attack anyways. Don't forget about Shelintiave)

"Message sent," said the communication's officer.

Now for my next move.... Shelintiave thought to herself.

"Tactical, prepair for full stop. First, have the ITSD's move out from behind the Nemesis at full speed. Then, fire our axial cannon into the center of their fleet. Any ship in it's way will be destroyed. Afterwards, send a volly of Photon Torpedoes into their fleet."

"Aye ma'am."

"Execute."

The Nemesis stopped as though it's engines just died. Then, out came the ITSD mk III's and they launched their firepower upon the New Dornalian Fleet as they proceded towards the center.

Several Dozen more TIE's were destroyed in the fury blaze of the New Dornalian
fire power, but still not enough to shake their spirits. The fighter's continued to fight back, attempting to push the enemy fighters back towards the New Dornalian fleet.

Meanwhile, the Peter Townshends and the Keith Moons took damage from the torpedoes. The Tie PB's continued their assault, as 5 were destroyed from the enemy return fire. The V38 Devestator's returned fire, and broke off from persuit temporairily. In one particualar Tie cocpit, Captain Vernilan dodged the Moon's return fire and launched two torpetoes at a single Keith Moon Mobile Suit, hoping for a clean shot. <Captain Vernilan, report.>

"Vernilan here. What's up?"

<Priority change Captain,> came the voice over the cocpit radio, <We are ordered to safeguard the Tie PB's while they assault the Townshed's.>

"Roger that Echo four. Echo five out."

The captain then began his defensive maneuvers, and did a "loop-de-loop" and fell back behind the Tie PB's. He then flipped his targeting switch, and prepaired another Photon....

(OOC: just to let you know, there was already a Tie V38. Can't just call the Devestator's "V38's." Refference for later use in the Civil War.)

Meanwhile, the others were wondering what to do, as the ITSDs were moving towards them.....

They pulled unleashed their Super Warp Cannons onto the nearest ITSD Mk III's, and followed up with four People's Hammer Anti-matter torpedoes fired into the groups of ITSD Mk IIIs which were fired into their ranks and remotely detonated (with regards to the Behemo above them, of course).

OOC: What happened to the ships hit by the Axial cannon? Remember, these things are about 2/3rds the firepower of the DS cannon.

IC:
A few more ITSD's were destroyed after the anti-matter torpedoes were launched. The Nemesis's shield's were weakened slightly (need to fire more of your warp cannon's at that sucker. Or fire a bunch of Ion Cannon's.), and the bridge shook violently. Shelintiave knew her next move. "Fire all Ion Cannon's at the nearest starship. I don't want all of their ships destroyed. Then, prepair a boarding party with a Kirtir Kight and Warrior leading 2 squads of 10 Space Marines in each ship."

"Aye ma'am."

"What's the status of our second fleet?"

"The Admiral will be arriving in a few more minutes."

"Good. There's no telling what that Behemo ship will do."

And the fighters kept on keeping on, as it were. The New Dornalians simply returned their fire, holding formation, only slightly wavering and losing about a dozen in the process.

More fighters were destroyed as the New Dornalians held their position. However, the Huntarian fighters continued on through advancing behind their position. They then fired upon their enemies from behind.

Vernilian saw that his shots hit, and fired once more. "All units's, time to pick off the weaklings. Target your weapons onto the weakest Moon's and Townshends. Fire at will."

(OOC: Please keep in mind that nearly all of the capabilities you see exhibited by this ship are exclusive to this class only, and none of my other ships will ever be capable of doing them. Pirai class fighters are cannon fodder. Nothing more. Walls of Corrolium I have explained before. PPAD shielding remember? Plus, the Behemo Grand is the only vessel of its type in existence. Thanks!)

IC:

<That's it. Huntarians...I'm sorry for this, but you leave the Sovereignty no choice.>

The com was left open just in case the Huntarians wanted to talk later. And there was a feeling that they might...

The Behemo Grand moved into the path of the fire from Vernilian, using it's massive 25.2 KM long hull to shield some of the ND fleet, and shrugging off the attack with little trouble. Its shields were jumped to maximum while walls of Corrolium matter were thrown up around the ND fighters in an attempt to shield them from further assault.

The massive 1 KM large main cannons of the Behemo Grand began to charge and pivot towards the smaller Huntarian vessels. The light from their barrels glowed, then increased into a blinding glare of nearly the same intensity of the sun. The axial gun remained off line while nearly 700,000 Pirai class Fast attack fighters were thrown out from it's cavernous docking bays.

To add the to the spectacle, two small vessels emerged from one bay. Preamisus class Battle Carriers, each already the size of a standard Star Destroyer, glided out, and began charging their own smaller axial guns.

This was simply from one fighter bay. The second bay hadn't even opened yet...

Missile tubes were readied, and each of the millions of point defense guns were trained on a fighter.

There was no doubt, the Behemo Grand was queen of the Eshirian fleet, and its true power had yet to be displayed.

OOC: Also, are those boarding actions coming at me right now? Or next post?

IC:

Rodriguez, meanwhile, fired two more People's Hammer torpedoes at the Nemesis, and then radioed for reinforcements.

A few moments later, a shimmering light could be seen next to the Behemo....and the imposing form of what looked like an ordinary SSD without a tower and slightly bulked up came out. However, a hail gave the signal it was no ordinary ship.

This is the NDS Chuck Norris. Does your mother sew? Tell her to sew this!"

A massive wave of Demolisher Gun and El Cid Proton Torpedo fire rained on the Nemesis, and a wave of fighters and Mobile Suits spat out of its belly.....

Another ship, a Prochkhorovka, was disabled by the Ion Cannons, and several Mao Zedongs were goners, thanks to the Axial Laser...but, the sight of the Behemo and the much-vaunted Chuck Norris acting against Huntarian forces was a godsend.

Friends in Socialism had come to aid them, and now, it seemed there was yet hope. The Demolisher Guns of the fleet, controlled by the Gracie units onboard, fired once more on the Nemesis, and more and more torpedo waves were flung into the monster and its servants, inspired by the SSDs example.

The Huntarian fighters, meanwhile, were greeted by Gauss fire as well from the ships, and the ND fighters, who lost a dozen-24 more and then immediately did a 180, holding formation as best as possible as they moved to continue firing on the enemy, along with their friends from the Walken. The Mobile Suits sustained more hits, and about five Townshends and six Moons looked like they were about to give up the ghost and withdrew. The rest kept on pursuing the Devastators and PB's, firing and firing....the Mothras, meanwhile, simply did the same, as the enemy seemed to ignore them and go for the Mobile suits. There was a comfort though-the MS reinforcements from the Norris bore down on the enemy forces, firing with all their might

"The Chuck Norris?? Now there is a silly name. Tactical, I think we ought to fire our axial laser at the hangar bay area of the Chuck," Lady Nightshade was slightly amused by the name.

Another ship, a Prochkhorovka, was disabled by the Ion Cannons, and several Mao Zedongs were goners, thanks to the Axial Laser...but, the sight of the Behemo and the much-vaunted Christopher Walken acting against Huntarian forces was a godsend.

10 Hornet Class lambda Shuttles were launched from the hangar bays of the Nemesis and they engaged their cloak. They rocketed towards the Prochkhorovka ship which was disabled and prepaired for boarding action. With their cloak engaged, they can also attack enemy fighters while cloak giving their enemies a bit of a surprise before they boarded.

So, they sent in another ship? No matter. "How long till the other fleet arives?"

Great timeing the admiral has, <Lord Shenlintiave, our fleet has just reached your posistion. The Megaladon is awaiting your orders.> came a familiar voice over the Nemesis's intercom.

"About time Grand Admiral. Concentrate your fleet's weaponery on the Christopher Walken. Get that Axiel cannon of yours ready too."

<Will do my lady. Grand Admiral Jurnaka out.>

And so assistance arrives.

The Nemesis rocketed, it's shielding was begining to weaken. According to current calculation, shielding was at 25%. It still has a while but with the arival of the Eshirian Sovereignty, it only had a few hours left of shielding. Of course their hull could take several blows, but it isn't enough. The enemy got their aid, and they got theirs. The forces were slightly even, if not the enemy had the better hand.

OOC: Exactly how many fighters do you have? I could easily calculate mine, and provide a accurate death count.

IC: More and more fighters dropped from service. Most were shot down by the gaus cannons. A few Tie PB's remained in flight, but more were in the hangar bay of the new Megaladon Class Towerless Super Star Destroyer. The Huntarians seemed to have limitless fighters, even with all of the current fighter casualties made by the Mobile Suits, the Mothras, and the Townsheds.

EDIT:
I now have an exact number of fighters/transports:

30800 Tie Fighter variants (approximate. There are exact numbers of X type of Tie's.)
4300 Kirtir Starfighters
2200 Vampire Starfighters
2200 Reliant Starfighters
1450 Transports

OOC: Well, each Prochkhorovka II has about 5,000 fighters of various types, and the Ushankov and the Potemkin, being Drama Casserole ships have about 10,000 fighters total each (they're my supercarriers, basically with the Chuck Norris ships around), and the Chuck has a few hundred, say 700-800 fighters. So there's thousands of ND fighters flying about, at least 220,000 fighters of various types. Wanktastic? Possibly. But, then again, nobody complained about the Proch II and the Drama Casseroles when they came out, so they seem to be ok.

And BTW, that Walken reference is technically a continuity error-all of that stuff was supposed to be just from the Chuck Norris, the Walken is technically out smashing the Cassiopeans and the Adam Savage just came out of the shop. My bad. I'll fix the mistake.

The Chuck's shields recieved a terrible hit, being reduced to at least 45% while the ship rocked from the Axial Laser attack and the subsequent lesser attacks from the fleet. The medics had to work overtime, so did GRACIE's (ship's AI) Robot Drones, who tried to fix the damage with human crews.

The Chuck still was mostly solvent, with what shields it had left, and fired three People's Hammer torpedoes at the Nemesis. Scans from the Potemkin had revealed the Nemesis' shields were weakened, and the blows from these torpedoes may yet break them. A force of Marines and People's Acolytes were assembled on the Chuck Norris and the Ushankov, they would storm the Nemesis once its shields fell.

Everybody was acutely aware reinforcements had arrived on the enemy side...so they worked to tip the scales before it was too late. Ushankov moved next to the Norris, and Potemkin got enough juice to warp back alongside Norris as well. They both raised Demo Guns, and fired at the enemy fleet with great fury to cover the Chuck. They also commenced on the Megalodon, firing People's Hammers and recharged Super Warp Cannons at it as well.

Onboard the Proch-

The Marines and Acolytes onboard the Proch readied their guns and grenades, and activated internal anti-boarding mechanisms. Blast doors went up, as did internal forcefields, normally used to contain depressurization. Menacing drone guns emerged from the ceiling, and began spinning, as if waiting for the enemy.....they didn't know who exactly was coming, but emergency power (with dim red lights and such) gave enough juice to run one of the Amethyst scanners for a five second pulse, which detected something coming their way.

But so did the New Dornalians. Their kill teams kept moving on the enemy, the gauss guns kept firing, shooting at the enemy fighters and using their numbers as a sort of swarm to destroy more enemy fighters....meanwhile, the newly arrived Mothras and Mobile Suits moved on the Tie PBs left standing.
