Crisis in Azimeth: Azimethian War of Independence [ATTN: EARTH II]

Azimeth
23-01-2006, 22:49
Following the peace that concluded after Azimeth's "victory" over Terronia in the southern Pacific and the Empire's newly found admittance into the Pacifinesian Alliance, war has broken out all along Azimeth, mainly Tasmanian island. The nation has been split into two - west and east - and currently Emperor Jacob Komech II has gone into exile and the royal family has once again emerged after being stifled from existence for over 1,000 years. The Hofstrian Royal Family tree has at last come forth with a direct heir, and he is beginning to rally protestors and men in arms against the current Azimethian government, to "destroy fascism and eliminate wicked men from power".

The Azimethian Imperial Consitution has been stolen and was seen burning in the streets of Azim, and rioters set flame to most government buildings. Revolution - this time a JUST revolution - to restore what was lost was now at hand.

Yet again, there was trouble in Australia, this time it being a civil war in Azimeth. This was likely to have a direct effect on the Kingdom of Norway and its dominion, the Protectorate of Australia as it was officially known as. The protectorate was protected by Norwegian Army and Home Guard units, as well as the impressive might of the Royal Norwegian Air Force, and the main way of projecting power, the Royal Norwegian Navy. All this was factored in when the generals of the Third Army came together in the headquarter building in Canberra.

After the new reform, the Army had shrunk in size, but increased exponentially in power. It had the latest equipment and weapons, and it was well trained and funded. All in all, the Third Army had at its disposal 12 Infantry Brigades, 8 Armored Brigades, 9 Para Regiments and 12 heavy Artillery Battalions, as well as 8 Combat Engineer Regiments and 6 Medical Regiments. Now, that might not seem as much, but it did equal to almost 450,000 men under arms in the Army alone. In addition came the Home Guard, which was almost 3 million strong, and the Border Guards, who were responsible for the border protection. It was an impressive size on paper, but it was also responsible for protecting several millions of square kilometers. A daunting task for sure.

"So what do we face, really?" General Diesen, the Commanding General for the Third Army asked. The answer was answered by Brigader Anda, the commanding officer for the Australian section of FO/E, the Norwegian military intelligence agency.

"A lot of fighting from within, and a lot of confusion. They will be on a lessened state of alert. If we have any plans of invading, then now is the time sir."

"Invading?!" another voice cried out. It was that of Generalløytnant Frisvold, the commanding officer of Front Section Victoria Alpha, which was the area facing Victoria, the most likely place to be hit first in case of a Norwegian invasion. In fact, highly classified battleplans dictated that if the Norwegians were to invade, it recommended invading at Victoria first, mostly because it was the easiest area to subdue and occupy first, since it was boxed in. The Navy and Marines would take the shores in the east and south while the Army supported by the Home Guard pressed downwards from the north.

"That's prepostorous! How will the world react? We should focus more on keeping refugees out of our territory."

"General, I understand your concerns, and rest assured. I have no plans of invading Victoria. I can't promise what Oslo thinks though."

This caused the generals to stop talking and start thinking. They came up with several ideas, but in the end, they agreed on Alternativ 5, which was to mobilize parts of the Home Guards and put them on border alert in the areas where the Kingdom bordered to Azimeth, while the Army remained the mobile force it was, ready to move quickly to areas where it would be needed. The orders went out to the Guardsmen immediately, and they left their homes and jobs to suit up in desert camo and exchange the hammer, computer or chalk for their AG6A1 assault rifle.

Message to the world

The Kingdom is aware of the situation in Azimeth, and is hereby declaring its neutrality in the issue. We urge the parties involved to see reason and sit down at the negotiations table as soon as possible to end the conflict. However, to ensure the protection of the Kingdom, we will close all borders with Azimeth, pending the end of this conflict. Any person caught attempting to cross the border illegally will be apprehended, identified, enrolled in a borderwide electronic record and returned to where they came from. Anyone caught attempting to cross the second time will upon identification be deported. Anyone caught attempting to cross the third time will be executed.

Thank you for your attention.

Already, the military had been entirely split in half. Komech sat at his desk as the streets below him were guarded with men from the 2nd Guards division, who already were beginning to the side with the "revolutionaries". Azim, Azethlei, Coenthy, Parkeneily and Bucenth had all been placed under marshall law, and although Azimeth's territory were wide open to invasion, the new civil war sparked only for rightful control of the country that once belonged to the people that lived before any other's, to the Knights of Azimeth and the Royal Family. Supreme Commander of all Azimethian military affairs, Aero Idalo, walked into the office and sat at Komech's chair opposite of the large desk as Jacob stared outside into the burning flames of the Imperial Senate building.

"Sir, the air force is not responding. I have ordered countless airstrikes against revolutionary targets and all wings are refusing to obey orders." Cried Idalo. He slammed his head onto the desk and sighed. "Things were going so well!"

"Where are the infantry? Are the 1st Armored responding?" Asked Komech.

"No, sir. The 9th Infantry is still inside Western Australia...And almost all of our armored, infantry and aircraft divisions are laying in Victoria."

"Our entire 3 million man military isn't responding to a national crisis?"

As the sun arose over the fire-spotted city of Azimeth, a picture came on to all televisions as the now extinguished flames of the imperial senate building fell to the ground behind a man at a small wooden podium as thousands of Azimethian citizens gathered around him. In front of the man stood the statue of Jarold the Great, the first king of Azimeth and the most famous knight in all of Australian history. The crowd grew silent as the figure began to speak, and around him appeared men of the glorious 2nd Guards division.

The man was no other than Yaeric Hofstria I - direct heir to the throne of Azimeth.

"I am glad and joyful to join with you today, my fellow brothers. Although the fires from the night have been extinguished, the freedom that began before the ashes had fallen has not been. The rightful throne that belonged to my grandfathers before me and the rightful constitution that was saved against so many invasions has once again ignited the fires of liberty.

It is without doubt that the recent recession of Azimethian economy, the horrible war that followed between Terronia and the Empire and the admittance into the Pacifinesian alliance shows that this country has not aimed towards liberty and freedom as its slogan represents, but rather against it."

... More to come ...

"I have a letter, addressed to a Mrs. Genora Mesthenken in a small town called Addora, Azimeth, written a long time ago during Azimeth's first rightful war against the Australian invaders to the north."

"Dear Mrs. Mesthenken,

I have been shown through the casualty reports from the department of war and combat that you are the mother of eight separate sons who have died gloriously on the plains of Azimeth.

I cannot see nor understand how weak and painful your losses are, but I commend you and your family for protecting the very consitution and kingdom that they died to save and I pray through our heavenly Father may console you in this darkest of dark hours.

Your's very sincerely and respectfully,

King Alan Hofstria II"

"Ladies and gentlemen..." Spoke Yaeric as he wiped tears from his eyes. "Respect and honor for the sacrifice that so many gave to the original constituion of this nation cannot be ignored. The rights and freedom that belonged to all of us before our nation sucumbed to tyranny have been lost. Let us reclaim it." He said, and he lifted his assault rifle into the air, as did the thousands of people around him, who were now rallying under his now famous speech. The Azimethian riots of the 21st century had now turned into the first Azimethian War of Indpendence.

Somewhere south of Tasmania, Marine Expeditionary force returning from an 'unauthorized' visit to Antarctica...

"Sir, reports from our agents in Azimeth suggest that some confrontations have broken out amongst the people of the nation. Sir...it seems as if they are going to war with one another...what are your orders?" the Aide sempt to be winded, of course this was her first tour of duty...but wars, not to mention a CIVIL war, were pretty nerve racking. She stood there and panted for air as the General on-board the RoJ Ritaana eyed the small report she handed to him.

"Has Admiral Yamamoto seen this yet?" He asked in a rough tone.

"No, not yet sir. What should I do?" She replied back, nervously. But the General smirked.

"Nothing...you've done everything you are required to do." He finished with a pistol pulled out of his holster. She gasped, and then she was gone.

A Pyschotik adventure brought to you by..........PYSCHOTIKA >>
Three months earlier...

The two men sat at a table, somewhere deep in a jungle. They were in a top military base, and were disguising there meeting to be a routine visit on the Japanese effort in the war. General Haritobo was taking a sip as the other Gentleman began flipping through some files.

"So, are you sure this plan will work?" He reluctantly asked the Japanese General.

"Of course it will. Nobody but you, your aides, and me know of this. It has been sealed up tight, and everything is ready. In time this war will end, and these pathetic Government officials will sign an accord. The Terronians will pull out undoubtedly, and we'll be able to power-slam our way to the top." The General finished, taking another sip.

"You mean 'My' powerslam to the top? Remember, you are only supplying the fresh load of ammunitions. And perhaps your own men will help with some of the work, but this is MY war and it will be fought by MY men and my SELF. So, don't get too cocky. I could have your throat slit right he..." he was cut off.

"And I could have you mamed and tortured in so many ways that you'd be begging me for your own vocal cords to be carved out right on this table. Now, I may be older but that does not mean you can treat me like some old fart. I've seen as much action, if not more, that you have ever seen in your own dreams. I know how this will all work out with my people, and I know exactly how your people will react. Now, I must be going now. I hope that you will be ready in due time..friend." The General smiled, finished off his water, and walked out along with his guards. He continued down the hall way, relieved that he had just 'won' the future. Or not...

Present Day, Japanese MEU on-board the RoJ Ritaana.

The gunshots could be heard along the sleak Japanese modified-cruiser as the Marines seaked out every last one of the sailors on board, taking no prisoners. It was a massacre, the sailors had slightly nothing to fend for them selves compared to the Marines. Yamamoto could not be reached in time by his own guards eithere, they were already hanging off of the starboard deck. And...it was already nearing Yamamotos end game.

"Soo...Admiral...surprised?" General Haritobo said in a sly tone. The Admiral could only stare at him, and stared at him with the most hateful of glares. This helped Haritobo smile, he just could not resist this priceless glare.

"You are a traitor! You betray our people, you betray our allies, and you betray your very family!" He yelled, spitting towards the General. The Admiral was punched by one of the Marines, and the General responded with a 'hushing' sound...shhh...

"Admiral..Admiral..Admiral..They call you a Admiral, yet you only take one ship with you wherever you go. Why waste such as good man on such a crap ass reconaissance mission? Perhaps it is that you are getting too old. Well...hell...I think I have a way of fixing that." He smirked, pulling out his pistol slowly enough to send fear throughout the Admiral's body.

"See you in another life, Admiral..." He finished with more of a blank stare now.

"Sukuriyu-Maro!" The Admiral yelled, then the gun blast...and it was over. The General bowed his head, and rose it back up.

"Toss him overboard with the others." He ordered his Marine-Guards.

"Hai, kyousei hitotsu." All the men nodded their heads in a bow, not raising until the General had left the room...It had already begun...It had already...begun.

Tokyo, Japan
DIET Building, Temporary Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's Office

"Mr. Juichiro, urgent news from the Azimethian Governmen...Governments." A Courier rushed.

"What? Go...two? 's? Plural? What are you talking about?" The TPM replied, honestly he was quite confused.

"Sir...there seems to have been quite the...uhh...well...split. The Azimethian Government is partially no more, it seems that the nation has split into two for what seems to be no apparent reason. The Government, atleast the one before the split up, has requested immediate Japanese support. They state that they are in a state of crisis, a state of...Civil War. What should we do sir?" The Courier responded.

"Send a message to our General of the Army, tell him to get in touch with all forces with-in the Azimethian main-land perimeter. Tell him that we must intervene immediatly, and tell the DIET that I am reserving my right to express Emergency powers. They can bitch about it later, in the mean time I believe I should be getting to Cambodia for a speach. Hurry!" The TPM responded, and left his office side-by-side with the Courier, and got out and into a Limo. The Courier headed to a Telecommunications room, and wired the message.

It sempt that all hell had broken loose again...and that this wasn't going to be pretty.

The Empire will be watching this event closely. Should it be determined that it could destablize the region and threaten our October Alliance allies we will have to act in accordance with our charter.

OOC: Got, Psychotika. Contact me on AIM, I find myself confused.

"Aero, come here." Said Yaeric as he sat on the steps of the imperial senate building, smoke still rising from its ceiling. Off the coast, ships could be seen in the waters, blockading the ports and completely supporting the uprising. The empire had almost fallen.

"During the Roman Civil War...The Pharsalia; Julius Caesar marched on Rome itself, which no legion foreign or domestic was forbidden to do. I think we're in the same situation, General." Said King Hofstria. He smiled and leaned back onto the steps, using the extinguished pillar as support and laid his assault rifle next to the steps. Blood entrenched his bayonet which protruded from the end of the weapon, a sign of true bravery and glory in Azimethian culture.

"Yes, my lord. I suppose." Said the General.

"Look at all of us. It's as if it's some kind of war novel or John Wayne movie. Kings fighting with peasants, generals with privates and militia with regulars." He laughed. "Out here, a man is a man, but a man himself is nothing."

"Sir, we're fighting this war for something right. You know that this land was corrupt, and we wish to reclaim it. We judge not a man by the color of his skin or the job which he possesses, but by his personality." Said General Idalo. "If a man in this country is nothing, my king, then I guess it isn't worth fighting for."

The King laughed and tore a piece of bread off from a large loaf, and shoved it into his mouth. He passed it to the general, who took a piece himself and began to eat it.

"When Caesar crossed the Little Rubicon, Marcus Lucanus left us all a chroncile to what happened:"

'Caesar has crossed the Alps, his mighty soul
Great tumults pondering and the coming shock.
Now on the marge of Rubicon, he saw,
In face most sorrowful and ghostly guise,
His trembling country's image; huge it seemed
Through mists of night obscure; and hoary hair
Streamed from the lofty front with turrets crowned:
Torn were her locks and naked were her arms.
Then thus, with broken sighs the Vision spake:
"What seek ye, men of Rome? and whither hence
Bear ye my standards? If by right ye come,
My citizens, stay here; these are the bounds;
No further dare." But Caesar's hair was stiff
With horror as he gazed, and ghastly dread
Restrained his footsteps on the further bank.
Then spake he, "Thunderer, who from the rock
Tarpeian seest the wall of mighty Rome;
Gods of my race who watched o'er Troy of old;
Thou Jove of Alba's height, and Vestal fires,
And rites of Romulus erst rapt to heaven,
And God-like Rome; be friendly to my quest.
Not with offence or hostfie arms I come,
Thy Caesar, conqueror by land and sea,
Thy soldier here and wheresoe'er thou wilt:
No other's; his, his only be the guilt
Whose acts make me thy foe.' He gives the word
And bids his standards cross the swollen stream.'

Silence littered the steps as the men sat and continued to eat. The general sighed and looked at downtown Azim, as tanks and soldiers littered the capitol building of the Emperor, who was willing to take a last stand with the few soldiers he had left under his command.

"My lord, it's going to be hell marching downtown." Spoke the general.

"Yes. Our own Little Rubicon."

OOC - Nothing against you has happened.

Basically, the only part I need confirmed to be alright and not a God mod is if your guy leading your 'resistance' or 'revolution' had met with a General of mine long ago and made some sort of plan and he said he'd help.

Basically, there has been a Mutiny onboard my ship RoJ Ritaana.

The General and his Marines slaughtered the Sailors on their return trip from a recon from Antarctica and are going to do something else next.

The soldiers surrounding the capitol building laid down their arms as the King approached them with his bloody bayonet. One by one, they knelt towards him as the Emperor burst through the doors with a pistol, pointed towards the sky. A soldier knocked it from his hand, and as the Emperor knelt on the ground, he grew angry.

"Kill that rebel! Kill him!" He yelled. The soldiers kneeled, motionless.

"WHERE DOES YOUR LOYALTIES LIE?! WITH FREEDOM OR A TYRANT?!"

King Yaeric approached Emperor Komech with his assault rifle, and the Emperor's eyes grew wide as he crawled on his hands and peddled backwards with his legs, his back arched to support his large weight. Yaeric kicked the Emperor in his gut, and the Emperor stopped in his tracks before the edge of the capitol building's plateau which dropped 40 feet to the cement below.

"By order of the house of Hofstria and as the last remaining heir to the throne of Azimeth, I, King Yaeric Hofstria the First, condemn you to death for crimes against humanity and genocide of the royal bloodline." Replied Yaeric.

"Let me live! Let me live! I beg of you!" Cried the Emperor, who's tears were now streaming down his face. "I swear loyalty to you, King!"

"Emperor Jacob Komech II, freedom does not negotiate with murder." He said. He pulled back the bolt on his rifle, and chambered a new round. The Emperor cried again.

"Let me live!"

"Liberty provides no mercy." He said, silently, and pulled the trigger on the rifle. The bullet streamed from the weapon and the recoil was sustained, and the .303 Azimethian round passed in through the former Emperor's head and out the other, creating a large hole through his forehead. His lifeless body fell backwards and onto the cement below. The King sighed, and looked at his burning city.

"We have work to do."

Sorry Japan...I declare this thread closed. If you wish to continue chats about what is going to happen despite the change in Azimeth, we can make a new thread.
