Gnufasur

The very center of the island nation Gnufasur. Here stood the Shin-Ra Tower III, the trademark of Krowemoh, Gnufasur and the Royal Mew Family. This Neko tower of Babel was the center of Gnufasur, it's heart. It was here that all information from around the globe was gathered, sorted, categorized, indexed and filed away for proper keeping.
It was here that President Rufus Mew III ran his small empire. His family lived in these very walls. As set forth by the first Shin-Ra Tower of ancient Krowemoh, the Shin-Ra Tower III was a towering monstrosity, powered by twelve Zero Point Energy Reactors; it stood as a testament of the Neko people of Gnufasur’s will. It incorporated all new technology as it was developed, and was the single tallest building in all the land.
It was also one of the most secure. Since the President himself and his family lived here, security was extra tight to ensure his safety. Since the destruction of the Royal Palace by orbiting spaceships, small shield generators were constructed around the base of the Tower, so that in the event of an orbital bombardment, the Tower and the Royal Family would remain safe.
On one of the upper floors was President’s Rufus Mew’s personal office. He sat here, reviewing many papers, requests, and international notices. It was already late. His daughter, Ayumi Mew, had just left for Reichskamphen the other day, and he was already beginning to miss her.
There came a rap at his door, the blonde neko looking up. He thumbed a switch, activating the intercom, “Yes, this better be important.”
“It is, sir.” Came the voice of his secretary. “An important visitor for you.”
Rufus sighed, “Very well, buzz her in.” He looked up as the doors were opened, to reveal...
Edea Spellsworth, President Rufus Mew’s political opponent during last year’s elections. “Ms. Spellsworth, what a pleasant surprise. After that landslide of a defeat, I didn’t expect to see you again until my daughter was of age.”
The female dark-haired neko only smirked, striding quickly to stand across from his desk. “Oh, I’m not here for any of that.”
“Well, I am quite busy, so if you’d please, speak your words.”
“I understand that there has been... Several cases of security personnel going missing for a day, and then returning without a clue as to where they had been.” She started.
“Yes, I was made well aware of that. I had the affected personnel replaced, to maintain security.”
“And what of... The ones who reported them missing? Performed the studies on them? What of them?”
“They had no reason to be replaced... Edea, level with me... What is this crap? What do you want?”
“Heh, what every woman wants... Power. And, I’m going to use your throne to get it.” She smirked at him.
Rufus’s eyes widen, and his hand went for the alert button, but he found that his muscles refused to respond all of a sudden, as if he was frozen in place.
“I have already won, Rufus Mew. The missing personnel were a distraction while I replaced numbers of the personnel here with my own. Even if I didn’t started weaving that paralysis spell as soon as I came in, no one would have come.”
Rufus tried to frown, but couldn’t. “You foul Sorceress!” He found that his mouth was still able to move. “The Goddess will not stand for this!”
Edea merely chuckled. “The Goddess? When I’m finished with Gnufasur, even the Gods themselves will have to bow to me! Just as I will make you, bow to me...” She crossed to stand next to him, raising one hand. It began to glow with dark magical energy. “I will bind your soul to my will. You shall remain on the throne, but it will be I who pulls the strings. There are going to be many policy shifts.”
Rufus’ body began to feel numb, as a blue light began to emanate from him. Grinning widely, Edea plunged her hand into Rufus’ chest, the blue light being tainted by the dark energies radiating from her hand. Rufus gasp, then fell over as Edea withdrew her hand, a perfect blue crystal within it. She tosses the Spirit Shard up once, catching it, and sliding it into a pouch. “Rise.”
Rufus lay still for a good while, before stirring, moving from a prone position next to his desk, pushing himself to his knees, his head bowed, “Yes, my... Master.” He says.
“You are taking to your new roll quite well. For now, prepare Gnufasur. Issue the Foxfire Command.”
“It shall be as you wish.” Rufus says...
Over the span of the next months, the import/export tendencies of Gnufasur shifted dramatically, favoring materials and products related to war. Each of the Terkomai Arms Corporation’s factories were double staffed and producing weapons, ammunition, tanks, even jet fighters.
These were then traded to other nations, with the money gained being used to buy and stockpile even more advanced weaponry.
Perhaps the most disturbing change, was when President Rufus Mew the Third announced that the nation’s motto would be changed, to 'Du Gemm y Kut, Uha Sicd Ryja Hu Vayn,' which in English means... ‘To Kill a God, One Must Have No Fear.’
((OOC: Build-up slash Cover My Arse thread, for another RP I got planned in the future. Umh, feel free to ICly react to the sudden Policy shifts, although declarations of war will be IGNORED out of existance. Although, since Gnufasur has always been isolationists, no one should really be surprised.))
