OOC: Sel Appa has jumped another 6 years into the future. It is now 2019.

IC: Results:
Chancellor:
Jennifer Bryan Williams (Populist Coalition)-89.1%
Alan Grant (Conservative Coalition)-8.6%
Independents-2.3%

Parliament:
Populist Coalition-315 (89.7%)
Conservative Coalition-26 (7.4%)
Independents-10 (2.9%)

This election included several new things. For the first time, the usual five or so parties grouped into coalitions. Also, parliamentary seats were appointed by the party that got them rather than each province electing 10 representatives.

Analysis: It appears that Sel Appa is a very leftist nation due to the leftist coalition winning by a landslide. Also, the government is now an elected one-party state and bills will likely pass very easily.

NEMNENAIT, Sel Appa
Chancellor-elect Jennifer Bryan Williams has promised many changes in Sel Appa, but refused to elaborate much. She said there will definitely be a crackdown on the rebel Anvorbuod province. She has also hinted at an increase in military spending and an increase int axes on the wealthy. Her administration keeps most of the old people, but she has fired several right-leaning ministers.

The Pacitalian Institute for Democracy is questioning whether or not these elections can be held up to standard; an 89.5% share of the vote is something reminiscent of fradulent 'elections' in autocratic regimes, not of democracies with actual elections. The PID would like to petition the government to view the procedures Sel Appan authorities used, as well as the ballots.

"Christ, what's the average Sel Appanian I.Q., 5? Leftism has brought nothing - I repeat, nothing - positive to the world. Gulags, economic stagnation, repression, genocide, pitiful standards of living...need I go on? I laugh at the misfortune and stupidity of your nation."

"Feh, look who's talking. It's not like you ever hold free elections. All your 'opposition' parties are merely government-run actors' guilds paid to pose as an opposition. Moreover, since all dissenters are shipped to gulags, elections are blatantly rigged, and free speech is suppressed, your claim to be a democracy is even more silly. So please, don't go accusing others of fraudulent elections, you Stalinist bitch."

STATEMENT FROM THE PRIME MINISTER: In response to the words of the minister from Magdha. The Marxist State is a very sucsessful nation with a potent military force (without any draft) and a fiercly patriotic peoples. There are right-winged parties in our goverment but they are never chosen. In 5 settings of pariliment we have never had a Prime Minister who brought anything but sucsess and wealth, and aide for the international community. Our oppositon parties run on a totally fair bases. There is FULL Freedom of the Press and Freedom of Speech and Religon. While they may not create nations, with enough work some may rise to high power in our buisnesses, in the current party or not. You Capitalist bitch.

The Conservatives have already fired off over 1000 complaints of voter fraud, intimidation, inability to access polling stations easily, among others. The Election Commission is working hard to decide on all claims. So far, most of the claims reviewed have been thrown out for lack of evidence or were proven false. The Commission will post its results soon.

Sel Appa requests that all nations leave its internal affairs with Anvorbuod alone. (OOC: Wait until I post about it seperately.)

Sel Appa is renowned for its free, compulsory elections and freedom of speech is guaranteed by the Constitution.
