As a newly-starting FT nation, I'd like to get my feet wet with a bit of localised conflict - nothing full-scale with my homeworld getting destroyed, but a bit of a scuffle over resources would be nice. So here's the idea:
Partially caught in long-range orbit of my solar system is an asteroid belt that maintains a huge supply of minerals (iron, uranium, tin, gold etc...) My nation obviously would like to maintain control of the belt for itself, and thus dispatches a survey team to set up a small outpost for testing extraction of the minerals. Y'can kind of see how this would go; someone else turns up to jump the claim, and thus begins some sort of localised conflict to control the resources there.
So the question is, who would be up for this? I'd preferably like one opponent at this time to keep things simple.
