The Beltway
21-01-2006, 21:08
Welcome! The Beltway is a relatively new nation that only now is beginning to take part in affairs outside of our region. We hereby open our nation to embassies (40,000 sq. feet; 50 guards), consulates (20,000 sq. feet; 10 guards), and trade offers. Please fly your ambassadors to Reagan National Airport (Georgetown) or to Thurgood Marshall Airport (Baltimore).
Sincerely,
Mark Warner, Foreign Minister of The Beltway.

To Mark Warner of The Beltway,
West Corinthia has interest in a trade agreement with your nation and the establishment of a consulate in the city of Georgetown. If you would waive your building cost we would offer you a consulate of the same size in our capital city of Kydonia. Of course this is only for you to take into consideration and we will gladly pay the $5,000,000 requested if you feel it is to your benefit. We offer uranium, weapons, munitions, quarried stone, iron ore, agricultural products, and limited quantities of crude oil for export.

Thank you. Your removal of barriers to trade is hereby rewarded with the introduction of free trade between our nations, involving all products and services.
Michael E. Busch, Commerce Minister of The Beltway
His Majesty’s Government would be interested in establishing diplomatic and trade relationships with the Republic of the Beltway as we are seeking new trade partners especially in the Atlantic where we, as a Pacific nation, have little trade. Diplomatically, the United Kingdom is willing to offer a plot of land in our Diplomatic Quarters, specifically No. 24 King John Street where your embassy will have a magnificent view of the mountains to the west and the river that quite literally abuts the western edge of your property. Should you find this acceptable, we would be quite interested in establishing an embassy in Georgetown and perhaps a consulate in Baltimore and Wilmington as we do anticipate a growth of trade between our two nations, which I will touch upon shortly. Your embassy in the United Kingdom would be limited to thirty-five armed guards with small arms and no armed fighting vehicles, instead armoured civilian automobiles for the travel needs of your ambassador are the upper limit of accepted vehicles. By that same measure, His Majesty’s Government does not ask any more of the Beltway and so would be quite content with facilities accommodating a fifty person embassy staff and thirty-five Royal Marine guards. Should this be acceptable to your government, Parliament has already approved Sir Rodger Lamb to serve as the first ambassador to the Beltway.
In relation to trade concerns, the United Kingdom would like to first seek an agreement on a free-trade agreement that would open our markets to one another free of tariffs and duties that serve no purpose but to harm trade and cause inefficiency in national economies. At this moment, the Minister of Trade and Industry has informed me that several shipping companies would be willing to open facilities in both Baltimore and Wilmington as well as the oil corporation Azazian Petrol would be looking to open a facility in Baltimore to open the Beltway to supplies of Azazian oil. Here in the UK, your agricultural goods would be most welcome in a nation characterized by hyper-urbanisation and a deficit of locally-grown agricultural and raised livestock.

To Roberta Kline, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the United Kingdom of Azazia -
We accept your request for the embassy, which we present as a gift to you. We will accept your request for the consulates upon receipt of the money requested. Further, we accept your offer of an embassy; we hereby present for His Majesty's consideration the credentials of Ruth Ann Minner. Finally, we are interested in building consulates in Azazia's major cities. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mark Warner, Foreign Minister of The Beltway
To Roberta Kline, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the United Kingdom of Azazia and to the Minister of Industry and Trade, the United Kingdom of Azazia -

OOC - Please note that I have listed the locations of embassies and consulates within The Beltway in my Factbook (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=464599).
Ministers Warner and Busch,
The United Kingdom shall have the money requested by your government for the consulates in Baltimore and Wilmington ready within a week’s time from our reserves in the Treasury; it simply needs to clear the red tape. Per your request for consulates in the UK’s major cities, the four most important cities in terms of sheer trade entering and exiting their ports as well as population and other intangibles are the cities of Breningrad, Philadelphia, Artega, and Portsmouth. Each is a port city with over two dozen million inhabitants and so given the extremely high price of real estate we shall offer the construction of a consulate in the commercial centres of these cities as a gift to your government.
I have personally spoken to the CEO of Azazia Petrol, who was quite enthusiastic about adding his company to the TBEX. Currently trading at 48CC/share in the UK with a total of 1.6 billion shares and of those 5.12 million remain outstanding. Additionally, should any Beltway companies look to trade on the exchanges in the United Kingdom, the largest being the Barent Exchange in Breningrad and the Philadelphia Exchange located in Philadelphia, they should seek Annette Sharpe, the Minister of Trade and Industry.
May these first words and agreements be the start of a fruitful relationship between our two peoples.

To: Foreign Ministry of The Beltway
On Behalf of The Secretary of State
I would like to hereby notify the Foreign Ministry that the campus of the Embassy of the Beltway, Cascadia City, Glacier Federal District, ROCA, is ready for your occupation. Grand Marshalate investigators have swept the building for listening devises and other espionage items that may have been left by the previous occupiers. 15 items were found and removed promptly. We do expect your own national investigative service to conduct a complete sweep as well. It is our gurantee that no such items are in the building.
We welcome you to Cascadia City, our capital, which resides in the Glacier Federal District.
As such, the Department of State has requested the Grand Marshalate request set up of a Embassy in your capital city. The ambassador and his entorage is ready to disembark Pangborn Memorial Airport by Private Jet to Regain Natl. Airport. Our security force will leave prior, along with investigators from the Office of the Grand Marshalate to sweep the building for espionage devices (as per national protocol), and they will be departing from Grant County International Airport.
Our embassy group will depart upon confirmation.

Department of the Interior
There are some items listed in our internet-factbook (http://www.geocities.com/cascadia42002/) which may be of use to your citizens.
There are several key things I do want to ensure that are included:
Prohibited Items- The following items are prohibited from being carried into the ROCA by a foreign visitor: Weapons- Guns, Knives, etc.
Such items can be purchased with a Foreign Visitor Consealement Permit, availble at all Points of Entry, for the purpose of hunting game, etc.
Agricultural Items are not permitted across international boundaries OR state boundaries.
All visitors must have a passport from their nation to enter.
All vehicles must have proof of insurance from The Beltway. If such is not availble, a temporary policy may be purchase at the Point of Entry.
Ages of Endowment
The ROCA has very specific laws regarding the endowment of certain rights that congress and the citizenry have deemed not acceptable for persons of a certain age.
# Tobbacco Use: The use of tobbacco is forbidden to minors under the age of 18
# Alchohol Consumption: Consumption of Alchohol is prohibited to those under the age of 21, but is waived to those who are in the Armed Forces and those consuming a minor amount of alchohol (wine) for religious observances while accompanied by a legal guardian.
# Motor Vehicle Operation: Learners Permit at 16, Restricted License at 16, Full License at 18 pending successful completion of tests.
# Age of Concent: The national age for a person to legally enter a contract, etc., is 18. At the age of 18, all citizens are considered an Adult.
# Gambling: Gambling is prohibited to minors under 18.
We would also like to request an advertisement in your tourism guide, for our National Park Service, promoting our Foreign Visitors Pass. For CA$80, a foreign visitor can purchase a Foreign Visitors Pass, which allows them unlimited visitation to our National Parks (such as the Grand Canyon, North Cascades, Columbia Scablands, and more) for an entire year (normal entry fee is $25/day/park). We are prepared to pay CA$10,000.00 transferable from the National Park Service, Dept. of the Interior (Invoice #1212).
Any questions, please advise.

Official Communique to the Foreign Minister of The Beltway
We wish to construct our Consulate in Wilmington. The Capital City of Moantha is Moath, and land is very cheap in Moantha, as capitalism is frowned upon, good naturedly, of course. A 40,000 square foot embassy would go for about 300 Moanthan Ankhs. As for trade, we have very little to offer, although our nation produces almost unrivaled lemonade, and there is also a large, though, in keeping with our good natured socialism, not terribly profitable export in fine arts.
Finally, an animal, as of yet unfound by our government in any non Moanthan lands, the dolphin-dog, produces unusually fine wool.

To Greyson Postman -
What are the names of each of the nations seeking embassies? We do not charge for embassies; they are a gift to nations that wish to have full diplomatic representation in our nation.
The claim to Omaha-Council Bluffs will be sold to Spiral Sun for $10 billion US, an embassy in your capital, free trade between our nations, and production and export rights for one (1) military product produced by your factories of our choice.
The claims in Canada will be sold for $10 billion US, an embassy in your capital, free trade between our nations, a promise not to interfere with our government's policies (especially those on religion - never heard of separation of church and state?), and export rights for one (1) military product produced by your factories of our choice; the claims in New England are not ours to sell, as New England is controlled by a nation in our region.
Free trade agreements with Monos Polein and The Orthanc are hereby approved. We believe in free trade.
Thank you.

Dear Mr. Warner, Foreign Minister of The Beltway,
Having recieved and confirmed your application for an Embassy in Iuthia, we are pleased to say that we can accept your offer with the reminder that it is policy for Iuthia to provide you with a pre-constructed embassy, however we can allow your people to contruct your own plot based on your requirements, albeit at your own cost. Eitherway your experts would be permitted (of course) to check the pre-constructed embassy to ensure that it is suitable for your staff.
In return I would like to inquire about the possibility of an Iuthian embassy to with the same basic limits that we would ask on others, with a small garrison in order to properly secure our diplomats and staff as well as two civilian vehicles and of course various (no high explosive) firearms for our security force to be used only in the protection of our embassy.
Thanks,

His Reverence Paul Carpenter wishes to say that religion is fairly free (excluding Satanists), but the moral system is stricter. That being said Upper East America reasserts claims to all land formerly mentioned. He also stresses the need for charity and mercy.
Religious organizations are being forced to leave the country or pay income taxes like everybody else, it is illegal for police officers to carry out searches due to strict privacy laws, untold millions of Beltway Dollars are going into a new government-funded maternity leave scheme, and libraries are now installed with jacuzzis and mini-bars.
The payment for the Omaha-Council Bluffs will be catapulted into your Speaker's office, courtasy of Upper East America.

We are utterly horrified by the ideas of genetic engineering, cross-breeding, and human experimentation outside the ordinary ethical boundaries of medical research. Celera Genomics has proved that gene therapy can be done without crossing moral and ethical boundaries that are not meant to be crossed. As a further note, we do not import illegal drugs, and treat the possession of more than 100 grams of illegal drugs, as well as the transportation or sale of over 50 grams of illegal drugs, as a felony offence; felonies are not covered under diplomatic immunity.
We claim, officially, the entire US, along with Eastern Canada, which collapsed first, and requested American governance to stabilize the nation before America's government collapsed. However, we acknowledge the existence of nine other nations (who don't RP) along the East Coast, which occupy territory from Maine south to Virginia and west to Indiana, along with your claims to the Omaha-Council Bluffs region and to Eastern Canada. Further, we acknowledge the claims of another nation in the West, namely Cascadian America.
A map of our nation is easy enough to determine; look at our factbook to find out our location, then look at a map of the United States.

We are extremely pleased and humbled by your diplomatic outreach - however, your guard and staff numbers are both ten higher than our maximum allowance under the Pacitalian Foreign Affairs-Embassies Act (6/1996 S51 G90 23.4c-9). As long as those numbers are lowered to fifty each, we will be more than willing to accept your offer and reciprocate with our own diplomatic envoy of a similar size and contingent.

If this is proposition is agreeable, the CGP can offer 11 Darlington Square for the use of your diplomatic mission, to number no more than 75 personnel. The CGP is pleased to accept His Excellency Ambassador Mark Kennedy to the CGP. While it is the policy of the CGP to recognise foreign embassies as the sovereign soil of friends and allies, the CGP asks that no embassy staff remove their weapons from the diplomatic compound. An exception is made in the case of the Ambassadors bodyguard, but we do ask that any weapons carried by such guards be small arms.
As you may understand, several nations with embassies in Ilium Percote are not on the best of relations, and this policy is to protect not only yourself, but our citizens.
The CGP looks forward to our future relationship, and hopes final arrangements for the CGP embassy may be finalised shortly.

Sincerest Mark Warner,
Foreign Minister of the The Beltway
As Minister of Foreign Affairs and Intelligence, we are pleased to announce the clearance of some beautiful by the Anakstin River, a clearance of approximately 20,000 square feet which runs near the Imperial Citadel of Anakstin. Our architects have designed a embassy in the manner of dome styles, to save space and offer a unique perspective of the city. The complex shall be a ring of nine dome buildings, to suit the needs of your ambassador here. The dome nearest the river is intended as a residence for your beloved ambassador. The other domes are for your as you see fit: fine arts programs, embassy connections, garages for your vehicles, and eating facilities... In the center of this complex shall seat a command dome, which connects to all of the ring domes via covered open passages. We intend to construct this as a command center for your security forces. In addition, three helipads shall be placed on this dome, for ease of security clearance. The construction material is to be made from Naktan ilidien, which forms a very potent alloy when mixed with conventional aluminum. Ambassador Ellen Moyer will suit fine in our capital.
You may do as you wish on this territory; we offer extraterritoriality for your subjects - as long as they remain on embassy grounds. Additionally, our construction crew shall build an underground passage for your vehicles, so that they may travel to and from the Imperial Citadel for diplomatic business without the hindrances of Naktan traffic. But as again, these are our offers for the construction; the only thing that has been done in reference to the construction of the embassy is the allotment of territory along the Anakstin River. The final decision is yours to make on these things.
In retrospect, we have some desires in the construction of our embassy (not as specifically as we had given your thought). We desire an embassy with a modest location, about 400 square meters, and enough residence to shelter 162 personnel, including the ambassador's family. Additionally, we hope to have rights to construct a temple to Taiarai on the embassy, so that our people in residence may still have a place to rest in sanctuary.
Our Prime Minister has selected Azahlik Respoin, a familiar traveler in the international community. She has visited many prominent countries in the West and the East and the North and the South. Her familiar with world politics makes here extremely suitable for a cooperative representative in your capital. She has a small family of three: her husband, Col. Zhermik Respoin, is currently serving in the Imperial Army, working to help modernize our force. Her children are adorable, with 10, 9, and 6 years of life. While her approval is set for vote in the Imperial Assembly, it is likely that the people will accept the PM's choice. Granted that, we are anxious for a reply as soon as possible. In addition to the formalizing diplomatic relations, we would like to conclude some trade talks, for other matters including our recent naval transactions with some of your nationals.
Again, our people are pleased with your people's hospiptality and we hope that this may yet bring more days of prosperity ahead. Our priests pray for your people to keep them in the favor of Taiarai.
Most Respectfully,
Daimei Kirolir
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Intelligence of the Holy Empire of Naktan

As for your request, a 40,000 square foot plot has been set aside for your use. As for your request for a temple on your plot, we have no trouble with that; your embassy is your soil, and you are free to do as you please with it.
As for trade, we request that you lower all tariffs and other barriers to trade between our nations. Failing this, we will only be able to authorize our corporations to sell ships and refined gas, although imports from your nation will not be restricted by us.

We are grateful for this offer. As you will have noted, the Holy Empire of Naktan just recently voided all tarriffs in the Holy Empire, so that is no longer an issue. Furthermore, if you ever need books published, we have an accommodating industry of the sort. And likewise, our munitions industry is rather superb and while our companies have yet to expand abroad, we hope to offer them encouragement to get into the international setting to acquire new developments and good markets.
In reference to our guards, the Ambassador does not an escort of more than 27 men. We may be primitive in most matters, but our arms manufacturers and our soldiers are considerably well-placed. We furthermore appreciate the concern for your local police to assist in this matter. This consideration may allow us to spare less men for guard duty, but that is for a later time.
In the matters regarding your embassy, our workers have begun construction of the site. If in the meantime your ambassador would to review the construction or get ahead in other matters of her details, we have adequate temporary residences in the Imperial Citadel (the site of the construction area is visible from the west side of the Citadel...), and we can accommodate such. As stated though, it is only an offer, and it stands until the completion of the embassy in one year the naktan year is two days, but in this case, i believe the standard year one day, so it shall be one day .
Our PM and I will be arriving soon [OOC today] to witness the christening of our first modern ship. The PM's escort is a modest 27 guards, and we request during our visit to your corporation's dockyard, that we meet in person to get our acquaintances done.

Minister Alexakis,
Thank you for your prompt response. As an FYI, the Xeraphian capitol of Xeraphia is reserved for those nations who wish to be considered full allies of Xeraph. Full allied status obliges both nations to come to the defense of each other if aid is requested. If you simply wish to have an embassy in Xeraph, it would be in the Royal City of Tarascus ( Xeraph has five Royal Cities, including Xeraphia. ). Whichever you prefer is acceptable to us.
Our Ambassador to The Beltway is Admiral Lord Tom Hannon. He will arrive via HCGS with his security team of 15 Royal Marines. His staff of 10 will arrive shortly thereafter.
In addition to the accomodations youv'e requested, your embassy, which sits on 3 landscaped acres, comes with an Olympic-sized pool for your enjoyment.

Minister Busch,
Tarascus it is.
You may open consulates if you wish in our cities. As previously mentioned, there are five Royal Cities in Xeraph.........that is the sum total of the cities in our nation. As Xeraph itself is primarily a military nation, all of the residents of Xeraph live in the five cities, total population of approximately 1.5million, 90% of which serve the diplomatic community. It is Xeraphian law that there be no buildings taller than one story abov the surface. All subsequent stories are below ground, ranging from three stories to 12 stories.
The only other inhabitants of Xeraph are the military forces, totalling some 180,000,000 soldiers, pilots, and naval personnel. In addition, Xeraph has an AI army of 12,000,000 AI Spiders, Paladins, and Sentinels. All of the other citizens of Xeraph, about 4.4 billion, are employed off-world, either as blue or white collar workers, or military.
All of our manufacturing is also done off world. We have four planets presently 65% to 100% settled, and sixteen more in various stages of developement. The Empire is supplied with 78% of it's necessities from plants off world, the rest coming from other friendly nations. Whatever you need, I'm sure that the Empire can supply you with it.
For a complete list of the Empire's subject-nations, please see the region of Mercenary Lands.
We do not charge tariffs with any of our trade partners.

Prince Vlad

According to our Ministry of Domestic Affairs and Intelligence, our people are very upset [to put it lightly] at the attack and have condemned the state of Gilabad. A petition of 50000 persons havev asked His Holy Eminence to assist your people, and while he would do so, he reasonably expects that the Gilabad state would easily crush Naktan alone. And even with our modernization initiatives [nice patrol fleet and good armored divisions], we still lack an effective air force.
However, if it gives you any comfort, our cavalry units are among the most disciplined and elite in the world [cavalry as in horses and sabers]. Furthermore, our priests have summoned all the nation into prayers to ask Taiarai for a peaceful resolution to the conflict, and that righteousness and justice shall prevail above the vain and hostile forces of Gilabad.
Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do outside of an official declaraion of war.

To Zenhahar Virduzhe, Administrator of the Office of Imperial Orders and Relations Commission, Naktan -
Thanks for the volunteers and for your prayers; economic pressure would be useful. Hopefully this mess will clear up soon.

Mark Warner, Foreign Minister of The Beltway
His Holiness has authorized mobilization of minor forces around the capital, and he has also called up 500,000 from reserves [ooc: it's still a small country, but we're zealously militant - note the compulsary military service]. Furthermore, seeing the limited success of the volutneers, His Holiness has authorized the PM to order mobile units with the volunteers.
And furthermore, considering that His Holiness doesn't not even recognize the state of Gilabad yet, we have no reason to assume any trade deals with them. With your government's permission, we can send 15,000 troops to your country to mobilize for an assault to attempt a relief of your base of operations in Gilabad. With time and preparation, we will send in a full force, although naval and aerial assistance will be an almost necessity. We will coordinate our future plans with you as our forces prepare.
Logistics for the moment include:
1 armored company [16 T-90] - 200
1 reconnaissance company [16 IKV-91] - 150
3 alpine infantry battalions - 4500
1 cavalry battalion - 800
2 infantry regiments - 9000
If the initial plans are approved, we would request assistance in providing air transport, as our only current means for transporting troops are via commercial airplanes. If you have any spare military transport aircraft, we would be willing to purchase those.

We have been informed that you are in need of military transports. We are willing to offer three (3) C-5B transports every year, for a price of $459 million (which is a 10% discount, by the way) per order, for as long as you like. We hope that you accept our offer, and that you choose to use Lockheed as your supplier of aircraft in the future.
Sincerely,

To MoD of Naktan -
We appreciate your offered troops. Unfortunately, our base fell on the first day of the war, although we were able to evacuate many troops. We've currently skipped to three days later, when the first naval battle begins. However, your troops will still be useful as support for the eventual ground campaign.
If you still wish to lend us further troops, we can loan you, for as long as is necessary during our war, the remnants of the 12th Transport Wing (twenty C-17 aircraft; we lost four in battle three days ago) to transport your troops. We thank you for your support in these trying times.

Delray fumed, remembering the massive anti-Amestrian riots (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=461318) that had taken place two months earlier. Rampaging mobs of Kahanistanians, spurred on by vicious anti-Amestrian propaganda, had tried to storm the Embassy and lynch the Amestrians and sheltering Kahanistanians inside. The Amestrians, overwhelmed on the ground by tens of thousands of rioters who had obtained M-16's, Dragunov sniper rifles, and even a Merkava IV MBT, had resorted to helicopter gunships to protect the Embassy, killing thousands.
Calm down, we won't give the people of the Beltway a reason to riot like that. After a few angry phone calls to various Beltway officials, she finally capitulated and dropped her demand for a gunship.

[ooc: I'm reluctant to participate in his [Gilabad] little war, since I can just smell the egocentric personality coming out from his thread...I personally don't think that he deserves the attention that he's getting, for being short-sighted and little discerning, although he's more cooperative than I had imagined before...]
The Holy Empire of Naktan has completed the preparation for the 15000-man Expeditionary Force in the Beltway. We have plans to expand our force there to 50,000, although the Ministers have debated the proposal in the Imperial Council. There are cries from the Imperial Assembly to destroy the state of Gilabad and "teach them the ways of the civil and righteous human." Furthermore, His Holiness has granted more volunteers to go to the Beltway, although He has explicitly forbidden any further acts of volunteering, since the workforce decreased due to the high levels of self-sacrifice [perhaps a reason why the economy is doing relatively poorly at the present...our Minister of Economic and Industrial Resources is trying to manage it at the moment...].
We furthermore extend our desire to resolve this issue as soon as possible, since the conflict itself benefits no one, and in a good resolution, we hope furthermore that the people of Gilabad may come to righteous deliverance, and thus lead their people to peace.

His Holy Eminence has made an appearance from the Citadel recently; in his message, he called for moderation from the Naktan people, seeing as their rage has driven the Naktan to a perpetual state of disenchantment, something that borders on the lines with the vile Gilabad government. That said, he is inviting the many proposals by the Assembly to declare war on Gilabad, seeing as it is the desire of the people, and furthermore, it would be inn our interests to support the righteous people and our allies - all who have been gravely and indiscriminately attacked by the forces of Gilabad. He expresses the hope that this declaration of war will not harm the people, although he also expresses the determination to make justice and righteousness prevail.

We are pleased to accept your hand of alliance, we would look for trade and military support when push comes to shove. We hope we can strike an agreement.
King William
Seeing as the conflict is standing down little to a ceasefire, our Expedition will be standing down and reverting back. His Holiness has wisely chosen to refrain from an official declaration of war, explaining that these people are willing to accept peace now, an indication that the Gilabad people are inviting a return to righteous behavior [albeit slowly...].
Our current force of 50,000 will be returning home, with our originial 15,000 remaining in place in the event that things turn sour. And seeing as we have no more real need of it anymore, we glady and graciously return your remnant elements of the 12th Transport Wing. Our current force will be able to manage the return trip.
On another note, we have begun to notice that our more modern ships were becoming low in supply of armaments, and we realized that we have not been adequately supplying our vessels with the proper armaments. This element has been discovered in all of our other modern units, ground and air force alike. Therefore, PM Karmala wishes to open a military training exchange to resolve these differences. Our units will need training on maintaining proper supply with modern tanks and air planes [as well as as our ships], as well some other aspects with its general maintenance. We are glad that these problems did not occur when we were battling the pirates, or that might have taken a turn for the worse...
We anxiously await for your reply on these things.

Either would be beneficial to us, although it would be better for the training to occur at home, seeing as we regularly conduct execises around our numerous islands and vast country in our western provinces. If possible, we could also work out a management of supplies with some home supply. It would be most pleasing to us if we could expand the military training with industry specialists, to help with the home supply. We will pay the appropriate costs of these armaments manufacture as is needed to the appropriate companies.
[ooc: the reason why I brought this up was because alot of the vehicles and vessels that I was buying used different ammunition, and I wasn't particularly buying that many armaments for them, so I'm trying to figure out a way to get a home economy to build a self-sufficient supply of these armaments and I don't know where to get them...although it is also illogical to send troops not properly drilled in the use of those materials...]

I seem to have missed your post earlier; sorry about that. Oh, and is there any way I could have PM Kaine visit your nation soon? Perhaps in a (RL) week?
To Zenhahar Virduzhe, Administrator, Office of Imperial Orders and Relations Commission, Naktan -
Sorry for the delays in our reply; bureaucracy can be quite slow sometimes. Gage Munitions has offered to sell (domestic-only) production rights to the various shells needed for the price of 1,000 of each shell that production rights will be given out for; further, they offer to, for $54 million US per factory, help set up ammunition, naval gun, and missile factories in your nation. Finally, to help maintain and repair your new navy, Baltimore Shipyards, for a cost of $750 million US, offers to help build you a port facility for vessels with displacements of up to 60,000 tons.
As for the offer to sell Naktan wine, we welcome this opportunity. I recall your wine being quite good; I think that Naktan wine will be a great success in The Beltway.

[ooc: I'm fine with that at the moment...one RL week for a visitation :) BTW, what happened to your elections? I thought Kaine was going to retire?]
To Mark Warner, Foreign Minister of the Republic of the Beltway:
We greatly appreciate this venture on your part to coordinate with your industries and corporations to grant a purchase of domestic production facilties for the maintenance and repair of our fleet.
In response to the generous offer sent by Gage Munitions, we wish to establish 9 factories [$486mil]; 6 in Viroyels, and 3 in Anirel. We furthermore wish to purchase DPRs for the munitions required for our fleet [ooc: i don't know which ones are what I need...].
In response to the generous offer sent by Baltimore Shipyards, we wish to establish three port facilities [$2,250mil]: in Anakstin, in Tumoroin, and in Raginzh. [ooc: If the offer was only for one port facitily, I'll take one in Anakstin...].
Furthermore, seeing as your nation has been most cooperative with our modernization schemes, we wish to invite your government to come on a diplomatic voyage to Naktan and review the fruits of a land that is now bustling with rich modern amenities in a deep and ancient culture. His Holiness wishes to meet with you in private at the top of the Imperial Citadel and invite Naktan's hospitality to the hospitality of a kind and generous nation. [There have been rumors from the more superstitious cults in Naktan that some parents have been naming their children after Beltwayian figures as "George", "Mark", or "Thomas", all which go against the strong presence of Naktan tradition - no doubt these rumors may be true...].

The adjectival/plural noun form for The Beltway is American/Americans or (maybe) of The Beltway/citizens of The Beltway.
The election thread isn't dead, just resting. Kaine will indeed retire; this is simply a state visit. A week should give Gilabad and the rest time to post on the peace treaty thread.
Any RL designs (as opposed to modifications on RL designs, like the RIM-116C - an updated RIM-116 - and as opposed to NS designs, like the BGM-355 - a wholly original design) are assumed to be available to all nations.
To Zenhahar Virduzhem, Administrator, Office of Imperial Orders and Relations Commission of Naktan -
You'll need production rights for the RIM-116C and the BGM-355 Winchester, meaning that you should wire Gage Munitions $15,555,000,000.00 US to cover the cost of the weapons. As for other munitions used by your military, these (3"/62 caliber shells, Mk.46 324mm ASW torpedoes, 0.5" machine gun bullets, Penguin ASMs, Harpoon SSMs, Standard SM-1MR SAMs, Tomahawk SLCMs, 5"/54 caliber shells, 20mm shells, Mk.48 ADCAP 21" torpedoes, Standard SM-2 SAMs, FIM-92 Stinger SAMs, AIM-9X Sidewinder AAMs (for the Harriers on the LPH-1 and for the A-51 War Eagle planes), 25mm cannon shells (for the Harriers and for the A-51s), Mk.82 500 lb bombs (for the Harriers), 1,000 lb JDAM bombs, and AGM-65 Maverick AGMs) are no longer patented; thus, the designs are readily available. If you wish, we can fax you those designs free of charge.
As for your offer of a state visit, I myself am unable to travel to your country due to the needs of campaigning and of negotiating a peace with Gilabad. However, Prime Minister Timothy Kaine would like to go in my stead.
Teams from Baltimore Shipyards and from Gage Munitions will be sent to your nation within two days to help build the facilities requested.
We look forward to future cooperation with your government and your enterprises.

Minister Warner,
tepi wen. It has come to the attention of the State Department that we are yet to establish formal relations with your esteemed nation, and are thus responding to your offer with a proposed embassy exchange, with a view to perhaps strengthening diplomatic ties further on.
Your embassy would be relocated in North-West/North District, Flurthwel, in the picturesque Waterfront gated community. A security system is in place, and is available for immediate inspection by security services, if required. There is ample parking space in an underground facility, and access to a helipad. The building itself is around 150 years old, hewn of finest Gruenberger marble, and home to several notable works of act from the "Mummy, What's Wrong With That Man's Face?" era. The embassy overlooks the Ressda gardens.
Should the offer be accepted, we would expect reciprocal recognition of diplomatic immunity, and would dispatch Ambaddador Raha Shell, who has previously served with the Gruenberger mission in Omigodtheykilledkenny, and is as such adept at both international relations and fending off groping hands. A standard diplomatic and security retinue would accompany her.

To the Beltway:
We may be on the verge of unintended undeclared war in Ramissle. We request immediate consultation to resolve the situation diplomatically. Operations are ongoing so the risk of contradictory operations occuring exists, as an accident, which could cause much bloodshed that is not sought by either party.
We are willing to compensate you 250 billion to cease operations in Irathrian Ramissle immediately and $5 billion / year. This will also open up trade and potential securitt arangements between us.

I haven't declared war, nor has New Barbary mobilized. You have no IC knowledge of NB's intentions, nor any of my own intentions. Nice try...

I'll throw in support for you to administer the 3rd admin zone and the islands around that were claimed for ICCD prior to the ramisslian breakup.. which is a sizeable island and island chain + 250 billion.

In that case if your fleet isn't off the coast forget i said that. It sorta alters everything I thought you moved a fleet into northern ramissle area?

OOC - NB = New Barbary, the successor state on the coast of what you called NW Ramissle. My fleet is in New Barbary; they invited us in from international waters before you began to set up your blockade or whatever it was. We then, again before you began to set up said blockade, started deploying a Mechanized Infantry Division, along with three wings of aircraft.

Well NB is not recognized and your fleet order to leave.
You have 5 hours to vacate.
Ramissle is the only legitimate government in that area.

OOC - See Maps thread; Ramissle no longer exists. That's the definition of a collapsed government.
If you persist in claiming large amounts of troops, I'll simply retract all the deployments to Ramissle by The Beltway and have my small force instead take over the small islands I initially intended to take over. In other words, I'll drop out of the rp.

if posible can you map which Islands you take even if it is just circling them on the map in mspaint etc.. so I can add it to the main map.
ICCD is very serious about stabalizing .. you can still do the RP even if you keep it going ICS if you'd like, but ICCD is involved.
Circle the area on the map. ICCD will attempt to drive you out of NB if you are inland, I think it is better then we are allies, why not join the IDF.
ICS: ICCD is continuing to recognize ramissle so it can make arangements with the syndicate in ramissle, so that it can slowly steer them towards tighter alignment with ICCD it will take years to do but with corpsac and no endorse both advancing the borders ICCD needs an infusion. The government disintigrated but ICCD is trying to rebuild it, and insure that it is allied with ICCD. We eventually after 30 or so years attempt to annex it if the situation is calmed down. The other option was to let it disinitegrate and attack the republics one at a time but with you landing a force there ICCD thought that you were going to support the breakaway and letting the break away republic gain foreign support would be bad for ICCD later control of them. ICCD couldn't stop the florintine paritition so having 5 new states around it 1 or 2 allied would be ok but it would be better if we could let the two that would be allied with us control the three that wouldn't.
So as far as that stike forzen in time, if we got word you would remove your presence we would continue our peaceful nature with you, like any other state. We will compensate you 250 billion and support your settling in the islands you were originally keen on if you do not interfere in ramissle. as stated before.
all in all I'm not forcing you to stop the RP but ICCD as ramissle next door neighbour would be very active in it.
