Several vessels approached a small sector of space, it was a border between the United states and another nations space, 6 of the ships were large sleek , rough hulled and grey, there battle star like forms guided and floated as there engines glow in the spatial void . the other 6 ships were small frigates, and medium ships, it was only a small defensive force, the FDF only wanted to beef up security.

Mean while Commander Charles Hathaway, looked around the busy bridge officers rushed around with reports and scans of the area. His grey salt and pepper hair gleamed in the light, his blue and dark blue uniform gleaned in the light as well as he put his hands on a 3d holographic display table looking at the space around his fleet.


The con officer said “sir, I’m going to start scans of space across the border to, test out or new sensors, if that’s ok with you sir?” the young tan shaded individual with black hair asked.

The older commanded nodded and said “affirmative, do what you must L.t”

The helms officer was tapping on another console keeping the ship steady, the new holographic plot system worked well, but was complex to use, it took 4 photonic computers to do all the calculations.

There was only one possible response to the scans of their border defenses. It was obviously an attempt to gain in formation about them for a preemptive strike against the Dominion. That would not be tolerated. 4 Carrier Groups were switfly dispatched to reinforce Basilisk, one of the systems that had been swept by the scans, and the only major defensive outpost in the area. It was obviously a precursor to an enemy movement, and could only be deal with one way.

Transmission to the Mewling, Weak Willed, and Degenerate Federal Union Forces:


We are DEMANDING in the strongest terms that you cease your aggressive scanning of our outposts, and that you vacate your positions, unless you would prefer we force you to vacate them. You have violated our territory with your spying. Cease, or be Decimated*.

*In ancient times Decimation was the process of killing every tenth man. Begone, or we will do that to your entire population, starting with your women and children.

The massive Metal Militia III was done. It had only been finished its final testing weeks ago, and now it was being pressed into service immediately. TFU was being uppity, and would have to be dealt with.

3 Task Fleets were also deployed to the area, but kept well away from Basilisk. No one could possibly know of their arrival. They were kept outside the scanning zone, and would lead the strike against TFU if it was necessary.

Mean while a small probe was sent in to a border system claimed by the union it was meant to scan a planet in order to set up an outpost on that world.


Commander hataway growled at the message saying in a loud annoyed voice “these damned pricks think were scared of them ha!, screw them I say we move the fleet in to that border system and help set up that outpost. These smug arrogant bustards deserve a kick in the balls” with that he looked over to the helms officer who had already plotted a course .

The USS Nova omega moved in fallowed by the other ships there big sleek hulls moving along as there engines glow in the void of space.

The movement of the pathetic Federal Union forces was of no account, so longas they stayed on their side of their line, it was ok. Scan or move across the line however...

One of the irate BC Captains sent a message across to the TFU Commander:

The probe scanned inside the other nations space it was secretly compiling information on drug runners and sorts. Out posts were being built all along the border as 6 more 12 ship tasks forces moved in for a defensive role.


Even the USS Orion and its sister ship the USS York town were dispatched patrols and exercises increased every day in number but no move was put over the border.

Not too far from Basilisk, but still far enough away to be out of the Scanning Zone. 3 Task Fleets were mobilized for this operation, Attitude, War, and Metal Militia II. They were supported by the Metal Militia III, The Unforgiven. There were also 8 Carrier Groups stationed in Basilisk currently. Each of the Carrier Groups Warped out, one at a time. Their destination was the jumpoff point for this operation, and they met up with the already substantial fleet that had been deployed for this operation. They all deployed from there to the site of the known TFU outpost, where they would engage the enemy forces, swiftly crush the minimal opposition that could be on hand and hold the position against all the other forces in the area. They would hold until reinforcements arrived, or they were forced to flee. The former was, however MUCH more likely than the latter.

OOC: My Boss requires me to point out the logistics for this move. You have mobilized a force that would take several weeks to mobilise. Assuming they were already in the area, and supplied\etc, it's not an issue. Mostly because that's how I operate, and calling somebody on that when I do the same thing is kinda... wrong.

IC:

The Miehmish Fleets smashed into the system with little visual fanfare. The audible fanfare, on the other hand, was almost deafening. Every one of the Metal Militia Series was named after an ancient Terran Heavy Metal song, and they each pounded them out over every possible frequency, a dreadful cacophony of sound, over which thundered the pent up despair and agony of "Unforgiven".

As soon as they entered the system, the Terran ships acquired targets, locked their Yamato Cannon and Burst Lasers ontoi the enemy, and, in a single barrage, let loose over 200 Yamato blasts, and thousands of laser bolts. The immense power of the Terran barrage was matched by the swarms of Fighters and Gunships that went with every fleet, as well as the heavy weapons and plasma batteries of the Protoss Carriers and Strike Cruisers. There was enough firepower in that salvo to destroy several hundred ISDs. Destruction of the enemy was inevitable, badly outnumbered as they were.

The admiral smiled as the enemy arrogantly rushed in, he opened a frequency to friendly fleets witch by this point have been deployed. The message read

“all FDF forces Engage plan omega one!”




a few seconds passed and the thousand ship fleets moved out pouring across the enemy border there destinations enemy ship yard points lightly forfeited worlds and supply lines.


Mean while the rapid reaction force was still deploying, it would take a few more minutes before they could FTL out to there positions.



Mean while enemy fire had destroyed 3 frigates 2 destroyers and crippled several others , the larger ships withstood the fire with ease, there bluish tinted shields reacted brilliantly with the fire that hit the ships there shields (think Star gate ship shields) .

On the Nova Omega the commander sighed as he looked at the tactical scanners, they were badly out numbered but they knew they had to hold out, the RRF would be there soon, and they would try to out flank the enemy, he knew he could use bombers to his advantage swarm the capital ships with bombers, equipped with tactical cap ship killers out flank them by firing on the engines targeting there shield generators, and weapon emplacements with the ships guns.

He looked over to the tactical officer and barked out orders as the ship was very gently rocked by hits of enemy fire he ordered “All main batteries target there weapons sensors and shield systems and fire, launch all fighters!”



With in seconds all of the huge warships main particle rail cannon batteries, gamma ray burst arrays and hard beam turrets came up from the lower decks, there twin and quad turrets moved up slowly and turned quickly mechanical sounds reverberated around the ships as each individual battery, targeted enemy ships and systems.

With in nano seconds the main batteries and other weapons began firing each

fighters flew out of the carriers and war ships they all converged then scattered in random patterns moving out of the firing arc’s of enemy ships and in to them, they shot off there pay load missiles anti matter rail cannons and energy weapons flew out in a mass of white, blue and crimson red rainbow.


Most of the large ships had begun countering enemy fire with masses of suppressive fire the lighter ships maneuvered quickly trying to out flank enemy ships they used there advanced weapons and missiles with out worry as masses of fire from dozens of small ships rained down on enemy ships form behind above front side and side, fire from them was rapid burst after burst and beam after beam; the fire from the ships were spaced out rather long distances but it was from all sides.

OOC: 2 things. I have like 7 systems. There is no such thing as a lightly defended one in the Terran Dominion. Each System has a Colonial Militia, with some sort of space force, as well as orbital defense installations, and ground to space weaponry.

Second: If you can manage to target the the Rings, generally best done by using fighters to drop the wedges, then hammering them with Capships. You're doing it bass ackwards.

Ok, I lied, 3 things. Could we possibly have the fights for the systems in my area of expertise? That is to say, on the Ground. Red Shirt vs Marine, and Tank, and Goliath, and Hellmaker... I ask because it's been a LONG time since I've done anything on the ground in FT.

IC:

The enemy fire slammed into the ships, sidewalls clawed and bent the beams, and rad shielding stopped the radiation weapons entirely, but some strikes still got through, gouting shards of armor and hull into space as vacuum was let into the sealed corridors. They were hit, and in some cases hit hard, but they were powerful, and they had an advantage over the enemy, they could concentrate their fire on the enemy ships, and their numbers meant they had a lot more guns to throw around, and a lot more platforms to do it with. Hellbores and Linear Guns lashed space, missiles hammered at the enemy, and gravcannon streaked the system with DU lightning. Fighters swarmed around the carriers, hundreds of thousands of tiny Robot Interceptors dove and swept among the fleets, belching plasma as they moved. Scouts, Corsairs, Wraiths, Valkyries, and the nigh-unstoppable Genesis Interceptors moved around the Terran and Protoss fleets, their sole task was to destroy any fighters or bombers that came their way.

Missile Pods were latched to the hulls of the ships on their untargetable upper and lower aspects, making them ready for deployment when necessary, but leaving the pods themselves untouchable to enemy fire.

Far away from the embattled systems, a call went out, allies from old foes, and they had some new allies, from VERY old foes. Tarsonis called out to any nation of the GE, any nation willing to aid them against the expected attack from the Federal Union forces. They were powerful, but the Terrans and Protoss were few in number, making their individually unsurpassed power inadequate for the task at hand.

OOC2: I’m going to ask for ONE nation to help me, because, while I may be powerful, I don’t have the undamaged NUMBERS to handle this alone. By preference this nation would be a relatively powerful larger nation that would be defending my systems while we duke it out in the REAL fight. I would also be willing to have some of my… other allies in on this, if you don’t want the GE here. If this is unacceptable, then I will be forced to mandate that the fights for those systems be moved to the ground. I’m unwilling to lose my systems without a real RP fight.

OOC - MM, I'm impressed that you would even work with this saucerhead. In my experience, he RPs his own stuff as WAY too powerful.

The commander looked at his chart growling slightly as his ship shook a bit more this time sparks raining down a bit. He asked with discontent “are our DPDC In range to keep enemy drones off our fighters?”

The con officer looked at the char, the ship shook again it shields lighting up almost like a rainbow of blues, he said “no we are just out of range”

The commander sighed as he grasped the holographic table and said “ok I want all space superiority fighters to disengage and attack enemy drone fighters, keep them off our bombers, I want all main cannons firing, targeting specific and weakened systems on enemy ships.


Particle rail cannon batteries fired once again, and again recoiling every time with massive burst of fire, thousands upon thousands of powerful massive bolts rained forth from ships , gamma ray cannons with 2.5 % the power of a pulsar fired out lancing again firing upon enemy ships.

Over all the seen of the out numbered fleet was defiant as both fleets fired massive power upon each other, impressive fire power from both sides…





The FDF’S RRF were still a few moments away; fighters had broken off from attacks in the loss of several bombers, and fighters. They maneuvered easily, thrusters firing as they rushed forth and maneuvered, several squadrons targeted enemy drone fighters.



“This is squadron alpha I have a boogie in sights!”


”Roger that alpha we are moving to intercept enemy squadrons, keep that boogie under control!”

“Affirmative squadron delta moving to attack”


“This is squadron beta I have a tango – alpha – Romeo- gulf –echo – tango – India – November- serria –India- gulf –hotel – tango.”

fighter squadron alpha took on a squad of enemy drones firing there anti matter rail cannons and ion burst cannons, squadron beta attempted to drop there powerful anti capital ship pay load firing streaking torpedoes towards enemy ships.


Delta squad cover the bombers firing there payloads towards enemy fighters, attempting to bring them down.

Mean while cannons and various other weapons streamed forth from FDF capital ships in glorious burst of white, purple, blue energy, cannons recoiled sounds of fire reverberating through the ships, explosions struck FDF shields shaking the ships ever so slightly as the sound of exploding ordinance was heard across the decks, fighters came in and out for repairs and rearming; constant sounds of combat yelling could be heard every place, rainbows of deathing fire rained upon both sides as they pounded each other hoping one will fall in to submission.

The situation was very tense the commander had a plan though once the RRF arrived he would give it all he’s got, consternating on the larger ships, the fighters would constraint on the smaller ships and drone fighters. The combers would use there tactical bombs against capital ships as well, this all deepened on him holding out though thoughts were running all over his head, what if he shook his head and though I have no time for what ifs, he had a courageous stead fast resolve as his shi paws pounded, his ship retaliated with massive amounts of fire power.

IC:

The Unforgiven concentrated its fire on a single enemy ship. Yamato Blasts, Particle Disruption Cannon, Kinetic Energy Weapons, Lasers, Missiles, Plasma, everything they had was concentrated on one ship, it was one of the larger enemy ships, and it had recently been targeted by a barrage from a pair of the Metal Militia Dreadnoughts. Whatever it was, it was about to get hit. Hard.

There were 30,000 total Terran Wraith Fighters in the Fleets, now they showed what made them so deadly, and why they recieved the designation of "Wraith" in the first place. Almost simultaneously 30,000 fighters disappeared from sensors and sight, as they engaged their cloaking mechanisms. It only lasted for an hour or so, but it gave them the ability to strike with almost unlimited abandon against the enemy fighters and bombers. Genesis Interceptors, Corsair Defenders, and Scout Fighters joined the fight as well. They were generally less effective than the Wraiths due to their visibilty, but Genesis was a powerful platform, and they wre generally the deciding factor in any dogfight.

The Robot Interceptors swarmed and flowed around the fleet, spitting bolts of plasma, and, due to the massive numbers present, and the manufacturies onboard the cariers, they were still at nearly full strength, as replacements were assembled and streamed towards the battle. Shields flared and dimmed with every hit, but they were capable of taking several hits before their shields fell, and they began taking damage.

I use a scale of "Mostly Superficial" up to "Critical" or "Crippled". Past "Critical" things are destroyed. My statements are an average for each segment of the Fleets.

(ooc I have issues about that fighter cloak… I won’t take any losses from that until we work it out other wise your post is fine, the fact that you can shoot at me for an hour with out being seen is a bit iffy, I have anti cloaking sensors and such.)





Any way:

One of the nova omega classes took most of the hits there shields lightened up in a rainbow of colors, 2 of them collapsed under the strain, amour was hit again and again, damaged ran rampant as flames and hull pieces flew from the ship its weapons firing furiously back.

Fighters maneuvered easily and began targeting even more drones and fighters, there anti cloaking sensors keen enough to detect cloaked ships; they were searching and scanning, targeting and firing.

The commander sighed as his ship shook with enemy fire his shield lighting up as it was hit again and again.

Now the ships were moving in for closer range slowly moving the larger ship that was under heavy fire was almost to dammed to go on but It tried to fight.

DPDT moved in to action they began firing and recoiling as rapid fire bolts and beams of fire targeted enemy fighters thousands upon thousands upon thousands of DPDT’s fired, anti matter gattling cannons fired at enemy missiles to crate a shield of flack blue pulses rained from all sides as the ships attempted to intercept missile after missile.



Losses were mounting frigates destroyers fighters, even heavy war ships were being lost at this point, the defiant fleet continued to fire every thing they had cannons recoiled missiles tubes opened, sounds of fire hitting hulls shields could be heard on all the ships.



Suddenly a fleet of 2500 ships from the RRF jumped in there bodies literally appearing as rings of white black and red went for there center to there outer edges.


All around the ships jumped in flanking the enemy fleet enclosing them in a deathing grip.
There turrets targeted all the enemy ships fighters whooshed out from carrier decks .


The commander on the nova omega sent out a message to all forces in a loud thunderous voice he said “all ships fire!”

With a burst of confidence, every ship in that huge metallic sleek fleet opened fire, thousands upon thousands of cannons missiles, gamma ray burst cannons and hard beams turrets all firing at once rapidly. Cannons recoiled on every ship firing bolts of white, blue and purple, the firing intensity of the ships increased even more as auto tracing Cannons joined in, particle rail cannons dual and quad mounts fired and recoiled, again and again frigates out flanked enemy ships and fired energy weapons at the enemy’s engines fighters thousands upon thousand of them rained from carriers and ships they scanned and targeted firing pulses of red and white.


Bombers whooshed forth in a glorious confident way, thy maneuvered easily and began dumping there deadly pay loads, large white and yellow missiles flew from there bays as they tried to doge enemy fire.


The sheer amount of fire power coming from the fleet would be enough to scorch worlds, a lone probe observed the battle from a ways, feed live news casts to terran prime and the galaxy, the glorious but deadly rainbow of fire from federal ships lit up the dark dead void of space, as both sides pounded each other.


The commander on the nova omega looked at the holographic tactical chart, he nodded over to his con officer who opened a secure channel to one of the massive flag ships.

The commander spoke with a confidante command hardened voice saying “Its time to bring out the triton missiles, commander, listen before we do that I want all available bombers and fighter bombers to focus on using there tactical weapons on open and defenseless capital ships I want all or fire to considerate on suppressing enemy ships, and I want frigates and long bow class ships to fire there long range ordnance.. ”

The plan was put in to motion the nova omega was struck and hit its shields lighted up again, but its massive body maneuvered with its thrusters all its cannons and weapons constrained on enemy capital ships at that moment, the same went for most of the other huge capital ships and mercury class ships, the order was given and massively huge hellish barrage of white, blew, red and green brimstone was unleashed in a fiery hell, cannon after cannon recoiled as there bolts of deadly fire zipped through the un ending darkness of space towards there targets, missiles flew and maneuvered to strike there enemy’s were they hurt most , fighters zipped zoomed and whooshed across enemy hulls launching there ordnance with precision and power ; massively huge and powerful triton missiles began pouring form ships, long range missiles and ordnances also began pouring out of frigates and long bow class ships, these deadly missiles and bolts of fire poured out tera tons upon tera tons of fire poured out just from these frigates long bow class and destroyers.

This was called a decimation tactic, every ounce of pure energy fire power and missile fire poured in to enemy ships, the FDF forces were not with out causality though 10 destroyers 15 frigates 2 mercury class ships and one nova omega class ship burned, there hulls almost destroyed.

With the arriving reinforcements, and the seeming ineffectiveness of the Wraiths cloaking devices it was time for a new trick. The Ships shifted their formation, forming a globe, with the protoss ships in the center. The Globe began to move, slowly at first, but eventually faster and faster...Straight toward the Federal Union ships. The massive Gravity wedges of the ships were presented towards the enemy, making incoming fire negligible due to the bizarre geometry of the formation, and the angles needed to strike at the sidewalls, held deep within the 300km Wedges. They were going to ram them, using their powerful Wedges to protect the Terran Ships from harm, and waste anything that blocked their path.

TABMeanwhile, NIC and FIS, both intelligence services of the Republican Space Navy and government, respectively, received word of a buildup on the borders between the nations of the Federal Union and Mini Mayhem (or...whatever you call you country o.O). The home system would not receive word of the battle until it was well over, nigh on two months afterward.

(I've played star craft before lots of times ), your post kind of ignored a lot of things i was doing;and about the weakened fire? well thats iffy to me i mean sure i don't expect you to lose your entire fleet to it but it was not that weak i mean it was any thing but weak that fire could have slaged multiple planets, you have all sorts of powerful weapons missiles, torpedos firing, that and fighters doing bombing runs. That explains most of the difficulty in hurting me. The rest of it is covered in basic geometry and angles. The move into a sphere allows me almost invulnerability for the inner ships, and allows me to either force your ships to avoid my ramming attempt, or accept garaunteed destruction at the hands of a concentrated wall of gravity, roughly equal to a black hole.

The first part doesn't matter. The second point is covered by the fact that my ships have a very limited area or range at which theycan be damaged. Broadside on they're untouchable at any range greater than 30,000km. From above or below they're invincible at any range. From the front and rear they're WIDE open, but that's hard to get to, and will generally result in getting hammered by whatever you're trying to maneuver past.

Look at what happed to The Galactic Empire, The Rebels Defeated it even with its oversized Military. and what happen to The New Republic when The Yuuzhan Vong Came, they were blasted to bits.

OOC: I'm sorry man, that's just the way I play. It was designed to beat the standard SW tech cookie cutter fleets, and it works very well at stopping more maneuverable or fast enemies from butchering the Fleets. If you want to ignore this thread I will understand.

Far frome the Battle, Tarsonis:

Hundreds of ships were being mobilised, ships that had not been active since their comissioning, DDs, CAs, SCs, BCs even. Enough ships were already stationed to defend Tarsonis, especially when you included the Planetary and System Defense.

The Battle:

The Terran Ships broke apart like a flower, opening up to allow the powerful and swift moving Protoss Strike Cruisers to break out and engage the enemy, concentrating all of their firepower against a single enemy ship at once. There were 1,100 of them in the combined fleets, and they had the firepower to slag planets many times over. Heavy Cruisers and Destroyers followed them, breaking from the center, and targeting the same ships as the Strike Cruisers.

The massive Leviathans, Metal Militia Dreadnoughts, and Metal Militia II SuperDreadnoughts followed a similar tactic. They loosed all of their weapons on a single enemy as well, knowing that nothing could stand very long against that many weapons.

All that was left to fight for Fleet Defense were the Carriers, Gunships, and hundreds of thousands of Fighters, mostly Protoss Drones, but still thousands and tens of thousands of Terran Wraiths and Valkyries, and Protoss Scoutrs, Corsairs, and Genesis Interceptors.

The Metal Militia III was a very special combatant, heavier armed than most any ship in existence, it concentrated every weapon it bore on the enemies light units, trying to cripple their ability to defend and react to later Missile Strikes.

10 light ships, 10 medium ships and 5 heavy ships were lost in the enemy fire, three of the unions largest drednoughts targeted the largest enemy ships , there turrets began unleashing fiery hell, thousand upon thousands of bolts of fire spread out from the recoiling guns and guided missile tubes, guided missiles streamed forth maneuvering and coming at the enemy ships from all sides .

other ships continued to pour on the fire in a brimstone from the sky tactic firing every thing they had, a rainbow of bolts beams, missiles and pulses reached forth recoiling guns and streaming turrets.


the Fire intensified with hellish glows of blue, white, yellow and red as millions more pulses missiles, and beams flew out in a volley in a massive amount for fire power, the dark lifeless void of space was lighten up brighter than a star as continuous fire went front against enemy ships shields and sub systems .

The commander growled a bit as he saw things heating up even more with a confident voice he said "order the fighters to take out enemy fighters, and order ships to begin suppression fire, and i want the viper squads to come in, knock out enemy capital ship defenses"

the con officer nodded he slid his hand along the console he was working at relaying information and messages.


the fleet began pumping out even more fire, and gattling missile turrets began shooting off thousands upon thousands of guided anti cap ship missiles, all this fire was aimed at capital ships and the two largest ships. suddenly over 500 black holes formed for a split second and small sleek and maneuverable gun ships flew out, they maneuvered like fighters but had heavy armaments, there Weak Nuclear force Disrupter fired with constant beams, pulses from phased hell fire cannons flew out in rapid succession as anti cap ship missiles flew from there hidden bays. .Spinally mounted phased Gamma ray burst cannon arrays recoiled as the guns shot electric purple effected beams at enemy ships

OOC: Ok, I'm pretty sure there's no FTLi up in this fight, so...

It wasn't looking good for the Terran and Protoss Forces. But they knew what to do. As one the Terran ships disappeared in a flash of Gravitic Energy, and seemingly fled the battle. The Protoss followed soon after, creating Warp Gates to set them free from the battle. They had taken losses, but they were still a powerful force, and they had the enemy matched almost ship for ship. It was going to be interesting when they reappeared...
