For a long time Potty 5 has been researching, developing, and using nuclear technology. It already used nuclear power for most of the nation’s energy. It also has done nuclear testing in the recent history. But the rising population and individual use of energy has spurred the growth of a new nuclear power plant construction program. While many nations [in NS] have been looking to the Pebble Bed nuclear reactor Potty 5 has been a supporter of Fast Breeder Reactors (in stationary applications) and Pressurized Water Reactors (in mobile applications).

In addition to the civil nuclear construction program Potty 5 has stepped up work on a verity of large military pressurized water reactors. The reactors are part of the nation’s increasingly large military budget. These reactors are expended to be used in the upcoming new generation of super carriers. Construction has recently begun on what could be one of the planed carriers but details are few and far between.

The aircraft carrier is to field a new aircraft that has yet to have a known designation but what are probably prototypes and test models have been seen by many people. From sightings the aircraft is believed to be of similar size to the F14. It also resembles the F14 in that it includes variable geometry wing, two engines, and yet to be substantiated reports hint that it is an interceptor with attack capability. What also is certain is that this is an extremely modern and advanced design that shows remarkable maneuverability with thrust vectoring and a verity of large control surfaces. It also has been seen to show amazing power and the ability to accelerate straight upwards.

The INV 1 Meihou Wang is the first of class in a 40 carrier construction program. The average cost per ship is estimated to be $7,200 Million excluding a reported $12,000 Million dollar development cost.

As so may see this is based off of the Nimitz class, The CVN, The Nimitz-CVN transition ship, and some other craft.

Gun: Even though the aircraft is designed to fire long range missile as it primary armament in its primary role and shorter range missiles as it main weapon when it engages in air superiority missions, many situations arise where guns do become an important aircraft armament. After comparisons of various weapons available it was decided that a large caliber weapon was needed. The military looked at a various number of rounds. A 40mm round was looked at first but the weight was deemed to great. So a 30mm round was decided on. The 30x180mm round employed as in a gattling gun used as part of a CIWS would be use. Then a gun had to be made. Some thought a gattling gun would be best but the bulk and spin up delay allowed the idea of a revolver cannon to take the lead. In the end the aircraft got a 30x180mm 7 chamber electrically operated revolver cannon (Rate of fire 2800 rounds / mineut in 23 and 46 round bursts. 414 rounds carried. Weapon is hooked up to a laser range finder in order to increase accuracy. Slower rates of fire can be selected.).

Moorington High Comman will support Potty 5 in any direction it takes, since it and Moorington have had true and far trade relations.

New Fleet on the Horizon
Today the government has released official information on the rumors of the construction of the massive carrier fleet and the new aircraft. The report stated that that construction of aircraft carriers, first of class named INV 1 Meihou Wang, had started some time ago. It confirmed that the construction that has been seen in a number of shipyards is related to the carrier construction program and that the government plans to eventually have an entirely new fleet composed of systems all made in Potty 5. The report also stated the swing wing fighter was a "highly sophisticated advanced interceptor jet with attack capabilities". The aircraft, named Type A0 "Hiroyoshi Nishizawa" Interceptor/Attack, is to operate from the carrier via the use of a ski jump and an arrest wire. The jet is said to include a great amount of stealth technology as well as advanced avionics, advanced electrons, high speed, and high maneuverability. The report also indicated that a new large nuclear powered cruiser designed to accompany the aircraft carriers will also soon begin production.

The INV 128 Daji Class Large Cruiser is intended as a fast mobile ship that is capable of defending a fleet from missile, aircraft, surface ship, and submarines. The ship is primarily armed with a number of long range missiles. The SA-800 missiles it carries come in a verity of forms including long range surface to air missile and cruise variants. It caries 4 helicopters to assist in targeting of long range targets and for ASW use. Two ships of this class are intended to accompany each INV 1 Meihou Wang super carrier. This is the largest surface combat ship constructed in Potty 5 since the Korean War.

New Ship Class Named for Daji, one of the Emperor’s concubines
Today the government aired a televised program that revealed in some detail the current status of the naval expansions. One of the most unexpected items revealed were models of a new ship that had until now not been known of by the public. This new ship then INV 128 Daji class is the largest surface combat ship that Potty 5 has built since the end of the Korean War. The INV 128 was revealed to be a large nuclear power cruiser armed with a considerable amount of weapons designed to allow it to protect the INV 1 carriers. What is more staggering is the number of ships that have been planed. The Navy stated that they plan to eventually have 80 of the ships become members of the fleet. Also shown was the operation of a Type A0 "Hiroyoshi Nishizawa" Interceptor from the deck of the Kiev class carrier INV 45 Zheng He. Also stated was that the navy was looking into a total replacement of all current ships and that the island nation of Potty 5 will soon be a truly great force.
