Try this Giveup- After centuries of exploring the galaxy and improving the lives of our citizens our nation/ government/ civilization/ people / whatever you want to call yourself/ has entered a new era for itself and lefted its isolationist ways and now seeks to establish free trade, embassies, alliances, so on- with the galactic community.

Say something to that effect- add or subtract whatever you want.

United Earthlings, I had given the player behind Giveup a template to that effect yesterday, though it was a more limited "After so-and-so years of isolation, we have decided to open ourselves to the universe. We are seeking to allow Embassies/trade pacts" kinda deal.

Still, Giveup, I think that probably the intro does need a little more detail. I would take the advice.

Welcome. We, the Kingdom of Free Farmers, have recently been carefully opening ourselves up to the world after beginning completely isolationist and not allowing or wanting any contact with the rest of the universe. We have asked for diplomatic relations with a few nations, and are slowly moving towards true interaction with the outside world.
