Antonious stood at the bow of a war galley staring out at the rolling waves of the ocean. A beautiful day for sailing, the sails were full, the rowers down below were at a steady pace,

"Antonious! the other ships are joining us from the coast!, there! the Generals ship!"

Antonious pressed his body up against the side of his Galley gazing towards the flag ship of the fleet. It was wonderful with many colours and banners all over it,

"Maximus will like his new promotion to Tribunus laticlavius(Second in command) very much! it will come as a suprize!...the Senete was reluctant at first to send these men far east..but i talked them into it"

Antonious bragged to his aid not taking his eyes of the Generals vessel,

"I have been promoted to Primus pilus(Senior centurion)"

Hanging over the side of the Galley Antonious looked back to see ships as far as his sight would allow, a mighty force,

"Death to the Frozipans!" he shouted

OOC: Im assuming months have passed if you have reinforcements. In that time many Frozopians have landed on the island.

IC:

William smiled at the structure. The Frozopians had worked hard over the last month, and finally the central Kurile Island as of yet unamed had its first permanent looking settlement. A small town, surrounded by a large tough wooden wall supported by some stone, it was a marvel that the Frozopians built in such short time. In each corner of the rectangular fort sat a watch tower, that could also be used as a platform to make use of Frozopia's longbows. Around the walls were ditches dug deep with long wooden spikes erected at the base of the walls.

William feared a attack on his new homeland. Rumours had spread far of the Roman effort to destroy this colony, and William was determined to protect it. On the islands were roughly 15,000 Frozopians (non combatants.), showing the enthusiasm of the Frozopians to migrate to a new homeland. They had come in the boat loads, determined young men and women to claim their slice of the new land, risking pirates in the dangreous Sea's despite Frozopia's naval protection. And they were not disapointed.

Most of the Immigrants were split evenly between the central and southern isle, and with them came the ambitious merchants, charging the immigrants extortionate prices for spades, axes any items necessary for starting a new life, as well as buying the plentiful meat on the island to be salted and sent home.

William had long since moved to the central island, setting up his colonial centre here. Assisted by his new wife Koiko, he had began construction of the fort straight away, much like the one that dominated the southern island.
After hearing of the Roman attack rumours William had immediatly requested assitance from his noble friends at home.

He had not been disappointed. To join his 650 men on the island, his second in command at home brought William's cavalry, an extra 350 men and horses. Along side them came 6000 men and 1000 horses. 6000! William had never gathered such a large army out of Frozopia. Frozopia rarely gathered armies, prefering quick deadly raids with small forces but Frozopia would fight for this new land. It had a lot of potential, and King Clauro had stressed its importance in the future in the court before. Besides William was popular noble, and many gathered around his banner. And William expected more men.

Now the soldiers were split up equally between the two islands, eating all the food and being of little use. But they would be useful. In the future.

OOC: I will post more info on my small army later.

over the month that had passed the Kirisuban women had been busy.

On the central island they ran the very large farm outside the settlement. Koiko had found a husband they the other women hoped they could do the same. Having long discarded their kirisuban clothes they now wore the same style as everyone else on the island. they were so much warmer as well.

In the meantime aided by other Frozopians and two oxen they ploughed the large fields, built bamboo walls to mark the field boundaries and were nearly ready to plant the first crops of millet and barley.

Kirisuban merchants had visited from time to time and from them they had aquired the tools and the required seed.

Hens were next on the agenda but they would need to wait until the first crops were gathered in.

OOC: They are leaving Ostia now, it will take some time for them to arrive in the east again...good descriptons..

The sun was setting on the high seas for the first night on the journey back to the East. General Marcus Atillis Regulus boaded Antonious's vessel to discuss attack preperations,

"General word must have spread of this fleet..it is too large to conseal, every nation on the ocean must have seen us pass by, not to mention the ship we seen earlier.."

The General paced back and fourth,

"If we have lost the element of suprize with is very possible...we will still take them by number, The first wave will consist of...1,000 infantry, 200 archers and 300 light Equites(cavelry)..those are my numbers that i highly believe will eliminate what ever we encounter.."

Antonious replyed,

"Sir, what if they have reinforced their position?..with a fortress and a beachhead?"

The General looked at Antonious,

"That is for me to deal with, i am the General am i not? do you think you would better fill this rank?"

Antonious shook his head,

"no sir...i do not have knowlage of the feild as you do"

Antonious did not believe what he had just said, but there was a reason for Generals..and granted he was not one.

William swore.

The bastard naval officers refused to help. They were too busy helping protect the migrants pass through the dangerous waters, prefering the high pay (maybe even bribes William thought) offered by the merchants.
Do they not understand!? If we do not win this battle there will be no more migrants, no more merchants!

Of course Williams ships had volunteered, but they were too few. William had ordered them to stay in the natural harbour as a last resort.

But they ignored him, trusting in Frozopia's ability to fight off an invasion single handed. Well William had taken precautions. Remembering the Kirisuban beacons that detected the Frozopian raid so swiftly, William had set up such things on both the islands. It would act as a coastal watch, and would keep the men busy.

Walking along the fields, William watched the men and women tirelessly work at the land, as he considered his problems. When the enemy struck, William planned to bring all his people and their positions behind the fort. Then the Frozopians would meet the enemy on the field of battle. If the people saw beacons they were ordered to flee immediatly.

After weeks at sea, the fleet had lost 1 merchant vessel to the to a storm afew nights ago. Overall the fleet was in good condition and well on it's way to the Empire Of Kirisubo. Antonious was asleep in his quarters when he was rudely awakened by the shouts of his men, he arose to see what all the noise was about, halfway up the stairs he was met by a legionaire,

"Sir we are 15 miles off the cost of Kirisubo! the shape of land in the distance can be seen!"

Antonious brushed by the soldier and continued on his way to the deck where he also seen the outline of a land mass,

"Munifex! all of these ships cannot simply move into the harbor..ours and the General's i imagine will move ahead into our established camp on their beaches..the others will hang back a quarter of a mile just so they are visible to the island"

The Soldier gave his salute and moved to give the orders.

Antonious boarded the Generals ship and they sailed towards a visible Ostian En-campment on the beaches, soldiers lined the beaches yelling and cheering at the arrival of their General, Trumpets sounded loudly at the sight of the fleet. As far as the eye could see the ships fanned out over the sea.

Emperor Johan had heard of the large army the Frozopians had gathered in their new colony and as their ally he was ready to help them defend their land.

With Frozopian assistance, Johan sent 450 Knights, 3,000 Spearmen, 1,500 Swordsmen, and 550 Crossbowmen to the Kuriles. They were led by Grand Duke Franz Joseph Binder and were itching for a fight.

The mighty Ostian ships were just off the coast of Anjiro, the Ostians aproximate numbers ranged anywhere from 12 thousand to 14 thousand strong with every military trade known to the Empire. They were 2 of the strongest Legions in all Ostia, seasoned veterans. Ballistas, onagar and trebuchet's were benig made on the shores.

The incomming Legions were those of the honorable, Parthica II, Ulpia Victrix XXX. Commanded by General Marcus atillis Regulus.

_____________

Antonious and the General landed on the beachs to be greeted by all the soldiers which Maximus had from the beginning, they added to the strenth of the force by at least 500. They stood at attention ready for war right there as the General passed by followed by Antonious closley,

"Where is Maximus?" The General asked Antonious

"One moment sir!" He replyed

He ran over and started speaking with the other officers then returned,

"Sir he went to the capital, he will be back any day now.."

The General was un-impressed, and gave a disgusted look,

"We are on the brink of an invasion! and Maximus is away! by the gods!"

Antonious showed the angry General to Maximus's tent where he made himself comfortable waiting for his second in command's return.

Antonious and the General stood around a table covered with maps .Maps they had taken from a lone pirate ship that had surrendered on the way to Kurisubo due to their numbers,

"Antonious..you will lead 1600 men to this southern island here, I will give Maximus 2300 reserves to follow you after you gain a foothold.."

He pointed out the way the ships would move on the map,

"I will be watching from the water and if needed i will reinforce both of you, for now that is the plan..you will not land in 1 big force but branch off and meet up after a victory is acheived.."

Antonious saluted.

The officer shows the chamberlain in the tent where General Regulus stood in all his glory. The General was a veteran of Germainia and Gaul, he was dressed in a dark blue toga with gold trim, his chest plate was gold coloured aswell. On his helmet was white and dark blue feathers different from the others that were similar to a horse maine.

"Hello! I am General Marcus Atillis Regulus, and you sir?" Antonious stood beside him and gave a bow to the chamberlain

Regulus was a butcher, he loved war and faught them very well. The People of Ostia loved him, to his enemys he was a cruel bastard who was known to wipe out whole tribes. Starting above his left eye he had a scar that went over down his cheek almost to the bottom of his face, a very intimidating man.

"Lord Conor" he replies "our people are concerned about recent developments as well. We've had a century of warfare and know full well what harm it can do. We prefer peace, trade and exploration.

We're also not in a position to wage a major war so soon after the end of our own civil war.

We also have a trade treaty with the Ostians the same way we have with you and would like to see peace in the region. theres plenty of land out there for everyone. it just has to be found first.

We can facilitate peace talks so your nations can discuss a peaceful solution. I can't understand why they would want to fight your people in the first place but we'll make ourselves available as mediators if we are requested.

I've also just returned from Edo and our Shogun has an idea of establishing a trade and military alliance between your people and ours. he also wants to include the Ostians. Betwen the 3 off us we would hold the balance of power in the region and not even Imperial Cathay could stop us from getting access to trade, safe ports and colonies anywhere in the region.

However it's doubtfull if it will work without the Ostians. Since we all need trade and colonies this looks like the best way to avoid a war. Given time i'm sure the Ostians could come round to seeing you as usefull allies in the region rather than enemies"
